Insight page

Breece Hall

Insight page
PositiveRole18:05

The Jets offense should improve significantly with Geno Smith replacing Brady Cook, which should raise both the floor and ceiling for Breece Hall's production.

Insight page
PositiveUsage18:10

Breece Hall was among the top five running backs in explosive plays last season despite a terrible offense, suggesting upside if the Jets improve.

Insight page
NegativeUsage18:50

0:00This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports What a play!
0:03Can you believe this? It's time to dominate your fantasy league Off to the races!
0:07And he stays on his feet! He's just gonna go the distance!
0:11Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath On the, oh wait, I mean, it's mailbag time!
0:16Oh, I can't believe I screwed up the intro, I forgot Trying to be all professional here, but it is mailbag time
0:22It is Thursday, July 16th, you might be hearing this on Friday the 17th or after Welcome to the show, Adam, Jamie
0:29and Dan Schneier here To recap FSGA a little bit, the conference Dan and I attended last week But mostly to answer
0:35your emails at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com That's the letter I, fantasyfootballatcbsi.com We also have the Fantasy Cops coming on later today And hey Dan, welcome back, what's up?
0:42What's going on? Happy to be back here, always happy to be on FFT with you two gentlemen This is the first
0:48time you guys have seen each other since the trip?
0:51Yeah, actually It was a long, long 72 hours together It was And I don't know why our rooms were right next
0:57to each other Directly next to each other Joining your rooms?
1:01It could have been Almost It could have been It was weird But we did learn some interesting things just about the
1:07industry Yeah And Man, the amount of people that play fantasy football, you know Just tell them to start listening to podcasts
1:13more There's a big audience out there But What's the most fascinating thing that you learned?
1:18Oh, great question There was some cool AI stuff Yeah, definitely on the AI front I'm trying to remember some of the
1:24stats we saw There was a presentation about the overlap between fantasy players and gamblers And gambling, yeah With 9.2 I think
1:30it was like 9.2 million people played fantasy last year Is that what it was?
1:34No, no, it was like 56 million people in America No, 9.2 was the combination, the overlap maybe Of who played fantasy
1:41and who gambled I think it was more than that I think it was about 50% of fantasy Yeah Yeah, I don't
1:47know There's a lot of people About 50% of the population It's hard to remember the stats Jamie just put us on
1:53the spot It was hard But there's a really big overlap And the fact that 56 million people in America alone Not
1:59even Canada Which has a lot Played fantasy football last year Is pretty cool But I don't know if it was like
2:05Have placed a single bet Or more than one But the number of people who gambled Was like 69 million And for
2:12those listening Me and Adam found a few I think gonna be really fun Really exciting people Who are gonna be willing
2:18to do FFT Open Leagues this year So just a heads up For those of you who joined us last year And helped us And donated to St.
2:26Jude And our draft-a-thon cause We're gonna have the FFT Open again And we're gonna have a lot of fun People in
2:32the industry Who are hosting leagues So I'm excited for that Did you ask Matt Harmon yet?
2:37I did talk to Matt And he's willing to do it He said If Adam had asked me alone I would have
2:43said no I did ask him alone You're already And he said no Thankfully our relationship That dates back 11 years Me
2:49and Matt Harmon To Hot Cakes and Hot Takes Our first show on live on YouTube Me and him Which I saw
2:56video evidence of the other day And it was not pretty Secured this one So yeah You're welcome What was it called?
3:02Hot Takes and Hot Cakes We did a morning show Me and Matt Harmon Before he was anything Before I had done
3:08anything In the fantasy industry And it was bad to look back on We looked ridiculous All right Let's get into the
3:14show And I did ask him by the way And he said yes to me Without you being there So anyway That's
3:20just one of the guys That's gonna be in the FFT Open this year All right First email comes from Team Blind
3:27Man's Luck I have picked number nine Oh Type of Blind Man's Luck I have picked number nine And it's a full PPR league Twelve teams Unless St.
3:35Brown Falls to me at nine I'm most likely going running back I really want to take Chase Brown But can you
3:41make a case Why I should take Brown Over James Cook And if McCaffrey Falls to me at nine Am I stupid
3:47for not taking him Over Chase Brown Or James Cook This is a 15 year listener Jamie So you have to give
3:53him good advice So it's James Cook Over AJ Brown Or Chris McCaffrey Over both No Chase Brown Chase Brown Chase Brown
4:00Or AJ Brown Where did AJ Brown come from I don't know I heard AJ Brown Chase Brown or James Cook And
4:06Chris McCaffrey Over both Yeah Okay I would take McCaffrey over both Because If he's healthy Nobody does what he does And
4:12The hope would be Is that we're not getting A four game season From McCaffrey You have to Be a little bit
4:18concerned About injury risk After 450 touches In the playoffs Including the playoffs And 30 years old now But You know We
4:24Remember the four game season From two years ago I think if you get Ten plus games From McCaffrey He can still
4:31justify Being a first round selection I like Cook better than Brown I just think that there's More rushing potential There for
4:37James Cook Led the league in rushing Last year And if he gets more involved In the passing game I think it'll
4:43be better Than Chase Brown as well So Love both But I would take Cook over Brown So for me It's McCaffrey
4:49Cook Brown It's Yeah It's the same thing for me It's McCaffrey Cook Brown Though I did hear a great case From
4:56Theo Gremminger Shout out Beyond the box score show That's going to drop Tomorrow A little shameless plug Here Adam You'll have
5:02to listen to this And deal with it We did an excellent episode Talking about breakout League winning running backs And he
5:08made a really good case For how James Cook Could actually end up Finishing RB1 this year And he's kind of that
5:14Outlier Or that kind of dark horse To do it And it's essentially based on The fact that McDermott's gone It's going
5:20to be The full offense They're going to be able To kind of unleash it And just the upside Of using him
5:27more In the passing game With Carmichael coming over To that coaching staff In Buffalo It's very intriguing So I'm higher on
5:33Cook Than I was before that episode Okay I would take Cook Over Chase Brown Also because I just think He's a
5:39better player But here's Why you And I would take McCaffrey But here's why You could take Chase Brown James Cook averaged
5:4518.1 PPR points Per game last year Take away week 18 He didn't play much there 19.2 points per game For James
5:52Cook That's fantastic Chase Brown In the last 10 games Of the season Last year though He crushed that He averaged 21.6
5:58He averaged 22.3 points per game In six games With Joe Burrow He was boosted A little bit By the absences Of T.
6:04Higgins In two of those games So if you just look At the five games That Chase Brown Played with Higgins And
6:11Burrow He averaged 22.6 points per game If you look at Weeks 9 through 17 Of 2024 Chase Brown Averaged 20.6 points
6:17Per game In every sample I gave you He is at least 1.4 fantasy points Better than James Cook Per game last
6:23year Even removing Week 18 From James Cook So it's not If you want to take him If you feel conviction About
6:29it There's plenty Of evidence To do it You can If you want to Take both Well he That's the thing He
6:35doesn't think Chase Brown Is going to make it Back to him In the second round That's why He wants to take
6:42I don't think James Cook Will make it back To him In the second round So there's a better Chance of Chase
6:48Brown Making it back To him Alright this Question is from Zach I don't think I promoted The airing of Grievances much
6:54But that's going To happen soon We're going to Hear some Grievances Zach says What defensive Positioning group Do you believe Will
7:00be an easy Target for Offenses this Year For example Last year's Miami Dolphins Run defense And Cincinnati Bangles against Tight ends
7:07Sure I'll start with Throwing one out There that I Really think is Going to be a Big one for Fantasy matters
7:13Especially in the Second half The Bucks Secondary They have built Out a pretty Good defensive Line and edge Group and they
7:19Should continue In Bulls System Todd Bulls Doesn't be like A funnel in The run game That funnels To the passing But
7:25those DBs are really Bad entering The season And with injuries They're likely To get worse I feel like That's going to
7:32Be one that We look at And talk about A lot in the Middle toward End of the Season I think the
7:38Browns defense Will certainly Be much more Vulnerable Without Myles Garrett There I know Jared versus A good player But he's not
7:44Myles Garrett And so that Passing The past Defense while They do have Some quality Players in The secondary You're losing Jim
7:50Schwartz You're losing Myles Garrett That defense Was once very Tough and a Tough opponent For us to Play players Against Confidently
7:56That's a big Difference right Now Yeah the Dolphins are Going to be Horrible I Think at Everything Sharp football Analysis has
8:03The Dolphins With the Worst secondary In the NFL Going into The year Commanders Second Raiders Third Giants Fourth Cardinals Fifth The
8:09Dolphins Also have the Worst front seven According to Sharp football Analysis With the Cardinals Also in the Bottom five There The
8:15Falcons And the Bears And the Saints Round out The bottom Five So Throwing Running on The Dolphins Throwing on And running
8:21On the Cardinals Probably I think The Giants Secondary Is horrible But their Pass rush Might be so Good That it Could
8:28compensate The Raiders Should be Pretty easy To throw Against Washington Should be Easy to Throw Against As far As tight Ends
8:34Go That's a Tough One There's Always One Team That Kind Of Emerges And Sometimes That team Is Really Good Against Wide
8:40Receivers And That's Why They're So bad Against Tight Ends Actually The Bengals Last Year Were A Decent Example Of That They
8:46Had A Shutdown Corner And They Might Be Better Against The Run This Funnier Thing Is The Background The Headphones Lack Of
8:53Microphone And The Glasses Which I No Longer Need Thanks To LASIK What's Wrong With The Background Look At It From My
8:59Room Some That's The Same Apartment No No No No That That was Doing Just For Those Who Don't Know This Is
9:05My Idea I Said We'll Call it The Airing Of Grievances So I Want The Credit For That Adam And I Said
9:11But during that trip, Adam did some weird things and I did some weird things.
9:15We're going to air all our grievances with each other from our FSGA trip.
9:19So that's just to set the tone. Adam, I'll give you the floor.
9:23You can start it off. Mine aren't all grievances, by the way.
9:26There's weird things I saw you do. Yeah, true.
9:29Airing of grievances is a Seinfeld reference from the Festivus episode, which is very famous.
9:33Yeah, I mentioned this one on the end of the wide receiver, the tight end tier show.
9:38Let me just read it exactly. Dan used own fork for family style serving.
9:42Used his own fork that had been in his mouth to serve the vegetables.
9:46Yes, it had to serve the vegetables on the table at the family style meal.
9:50And the context I didn't give, to be fair, was that nobody was eating the vegetables and it didn't have a serving spoon.
9:57But Dan absolutely 100% used his own used fork to serve the vegetables onto his own plate.
10:02A few things to note about this. One, there was a lack of serving spoons in general, would you say, throughout that dinner?
10:08Sure, but there were other serving spoons that you easily could have used.
10:12No, there were not. Two, it was toward the end of the meal when I saw the vegetables had been untouched and
10:18they were pickled vegetables and I wanted them. So I got them out there.
10:22But to be fair, my fork did not touch a single vegetable that I didn't end up eating and it did not
10:28touch a single vegetable that was left in that tray of vegetables.
10:32It only got, it only got, I'm sorry though, that I wasn't eating.
10:35It only got touched on the ones that I was eating.
10:38And then after I put it back untouched, the vegetables that were left in there were untouched.
10:43No one even touched them or ate them. No one was eating those vegetables.
10:47That's understandable though. Yeah, seriously. No, no, no. This was the end of the dinner, Jamie.
10:52I'll be honest. I'll be honest. It was a no harm, no foul offense, but it was still, I think, bad etiquette.
10:58I don't know what else I could have done.
11:00I could have tried that. What I was thinking is, should I dump the tray on?
11:05And that would have been even. You could have used another serving spoon.
11:09Yeah, you could have used another serving spoon. There were none in the area, Jamie.
11:13Yes, there were. Bro, there were 10 plates on the table.
11:16There were nine serving spoons. They were not. All right, let's go ahead.
11:20Your first grievance. Well, now you're going that hard, Dom.
11:23I have to look through my list. I was going to say some nice things.
11:27Let's take a look. Okay, I'll start with this one.
11:30We're at the bar. You know, we actually had a great dinner with some Fantasy Football Today listeners.
11:35And shout out to those guys who came out to us, came out to visit us, had dinner with us, drove out.
11:41There was a great time. What did you say?
11:44What are their names? We had Joe. Who I remember.
11:46This is BS by you, Jamie. I'm bad with names and it's been a long time since that.
11:51You shouted them out. You got to give their name.
11:54I know. Why am I not remembering names here?
11:57We had. I remember Joe for sure. I remember all of them, but I just doing that with Sean.
12:02Okay. And now I'm going to be feel bad that I forgot the last name.
12:06And I'm picturing him in my mind and I'm just bad with names.
12:10But that's not important here. The important part of the story is they all had a great order and then it gets
12:16up to Adam and he goes full Larry David on his order.
12:20He orders a burger and it's like that scene from Scurb Your Enthusiasm where Larry David orders the Cobb salad.
12:25It was like, hold the bacon, hold the blue, no bacon, no blue cheese.
12:29And basically every ingredient in the Cobb salad is at once.
12:32So he's like, can I get the Tavern burger?
12:35But no bacon, no bacon jam. I want no lettuce, but you can put a tomato on there and some cheese.
12:41This is one patty. One patty. It's supposed to be a double patty.
12:45He's like, and I want one patty. I mean, it was a little bit of a particular order, but this is such a bad grievance.
12:52You could have done better than this. This is what you came out swinging with.
12:56Come on, man. It was. Yeah, I don't. Yeah, go on.
12:59Go on. Joe, Sean and Jeremy, by the way, were the three guys we met up with.
13:04Yes, I forgot. I was going to say Jeremy, but my bad, Jeremy.
13:08I've never seen that Cobb salad scene, but it sounds very funny.
13:11No, basically they had two burger options on their menu.
13:14One of them was like bacon, fried egg and all this stuff.
13:17I didn't want that. The other one was a double cheeseburger with some other stuff.
13:21I was like, I just want one patty, cheese and tomato.
13:25That's all. Oh, no. I like mushrooms and onions.
13:27I just made my own. I made my own burger.
13:30Big deal. You made your own burger. Big deal.
13:32You could have just made your own burger, though, instead of ordering a specific Tap House Tavern burger.
13:38Everyone else had just a simple order. I want the burger and that's it.
13:42So far, Adam is winning in the airing of the group.
13:45You know, I don't even have any. This is going to be bad.
13:48I'm looking through it. There's nothing good in here.
13:51It's just a little thing. I'm going to give you a bonus one.
13:55He goes, Jamie, you want to talk about the grievances from the trip?
13:58How about before the trip even started? We go through this whole thing about how I'm going to pick up Dan.
14:04I'm going to drive halfway, get to Dan's house, pick him up and drive the other half.
14:09He didn't offer to drive or anything like that.
14:12One hour before I'm about to leave, he calls me up and says, you know, I think it might be better if
14:18you just take your own car and I'll just take my own car.
14:21One hour before I'm about to leave in Carpool Hibby, he tells me that now I have to drive two and a
14:28half hours by myself because he wanted, he's like, I got something on Friday afternoon.
14:32I think it's probably just better if I take my own car.
14:35He's going on. I'm like, Dan, just tell me that it's golf.
14:39I can tell that it's golf. So he almost made me drive the full way by myself to get to his golf game on Friday.
14:46I was able to convince him not to do that.
14:49Super selfish. Did you play or no? They ended up playing later that Friday?
14:53Yeah, you did, right? Yeah, I did. Yeah. I did.
14:55But I just didn't know. I also just wanted to make sure that we were going to get there on time because
15:02he was, he had a tough day Friday where he had to get back to pick up his son.
15:07So it was a lot. There's a lot going on Friday before that tennis match.
15:11But yeah, that's a good grievance from you. I still think it's ridiculous.
15:15I ordered to, I mean, I offered to pay for gas.
15:18You said no. I tried to make it up for you by buying lunch or breakfast.
15:23You didn't care. I don't think you should have to, I offered to drive.
15:27You don't want me to drive your own car.
15:29And so somebody actually in the chat or I think this was on Twitter did a great job of Azerstatting this.
15:35Honestly, I drove all the maximum amount of miles that you allowed me to drive.
15:39So essentially I drove every possible mile of that trip from Azerstat version of this because listen, you wouldn't let me drive your car.
15:46I didn't know I had to drive my car that has a problem on it, by the way.
15:51It has that little notice that you need to take it in.
15:55I was willing to drive it if I had to, but you know what?
15:59That's right. He said he couldn't, he couldn't drive halfway because his car was, his car had issues.
16:04I didn't know when you offered to drive, you have to offer to then drive your own car.
16:09I was offering to drive your car. I don't want you to drive my car.
16:13All right, we're going to take a break. Come back and talk about Brees Hall after this on Fantasy Football Today.
16:19I'm getting it. Enjoying the World Cup? If you want proper analysis, honest opinions, and plenty of laughs along the way, give The Rest is Football a listen.
16:27Gary Lineker, Alan Shear, and Micah Richards break down the biggest games, the standout moments, and everything happening on and off the
16:33pitch with brilliant guests joining them throughout the tournament.
16:36Whether you've followed football your whole life or you're just getting into it, they'll help you make sense of the drama, the
16:42tactics, the joy, and the heartbreak of the World Cup.
16:45Listen to The Rest is Football wherever you get your podcasts.
16:48Getting. Question about Brees Hall from Austin. I don't understand the appeal for Brees Hall at this point.
16:53He's had back-to-back years of disappointment on a bad team where game script and other running backs on his team could be a real problem.
17:00P.S. Adam, I feel like you're just too nice to beat Dan in tennis.
17:04It would crush him. Jamie, Brees Hall is RB14 in Fantasy Pros ADP, RB15 in CBS ADP.
17:09I think he was RB21 last year overall. He's going to the third round.
17:13Is he going too early? It's the range for him.
17:16I would prefer him in round four. I think the thing that you're hoping for for Brees Hall is the role in
17:22the passing game because that's really what disappeared last season.
17:25So the offense as a whole should be better.
17:27I think Frank Reich as the offense coordinator and Geno Smith as the quarterback will be a better pairing than what Brees Hall dealt with last year.
17:35Plus, you have better weapons around him. You know, the addition of Adnan Mitchell late in the season, Omar Cooper, Kenyon Sadiq, healthy Garrett Wilson.
17:42Like, just the environment should be better. That being said, it's still going to be a bad team.
17:47It's still going to be a bad offense in general.
17:50It's just a matter of how good can Brees Hall be.
17:53I just think if he can get back involved as a pass catcher, he'll probably score in the neighborhood of five to eight total touchdowns at best.
18:01That should help him. But if he's going to be a sub-40 catch guy, it's going to be tough to trust him.
18:07I like the fact that if you actually look back on it, specifically last season, Brees Hall was up there among the top five running backs in explosives.
18:15Like, he was creating explosive plays on a really bad offense.
18:18And the expectation this year, hopefully, is that Geno Smith can level that offense.
18:22I just can't imagine it would be worse or it's possible to be worse than it was with Brady Cook.
18:27Is that his name? The Missouri quarterback? Always forget it.
18:30Yeah. It's so meaningless. He's not going to play in the NFL much longer.
18:34I don't think. He was horrific. He was horrific at the position.
18:38And that's the thing. That's important to note. Like, he brought that offense down so much, he destroyed the ceiling or even the floor for Brees Hall.
18:45So, I think just any level of competence and Geno brings that as bad as he is now will definitely raise the floor and ceiling for Brees Hall.
18:53The Jets were 21st in running back carries in the first three quarters of games.
18:57They were 29th in the fourth quarter. So, they never got to run the ball, really, in the fourth quarter.
19:03They had five goal line carries all season long, which ranked dead last.
19:07And Brees Hall had only two of them. But they've actually been 30th or worse in goal line carries in each of the last three seasons.
19:14It's been really bad, but hopefully, it should be better.
19:17And Brees Hall- You just got to see if what Aaron Glenn wants comes to fruition with Bray and Alan getting more work.
19:24Yeah. All right. This is from Andrew. When you talk about tiers, it would be great if you could publish a list
19:30of salary cap percentage that those tiers would roughly coincide with.
19:33I know it's impossible to do live, but a guide we could download would be great.
19:37So, let's actually try to do it. I think that's a good call.
19:41Running back or receiver, Jamie? Pick a position. Let's go running backs.
19:44Okay. Okay. So, let's say $100 budget. Or you could just give percentages.
19:48But $100 budget. McCaffrey, I mean, Gibbs and Bijon are tier one.
19:52What is the range in budget there? 30% for each guy.
19:5530. I think- How high would you be willing to go for Gibbs?
19:5835. I don't think I would ever pay that.
20:01I equate it to a $200 budget. I'm probably maxing out at 60, so maybe 30 for me.
20:06Okay. Tier two. Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, James Cook.
20:09That's usually- Yeah, that's- Oh. Yeah, I usually think that's more of the 20 to 25 range.
20:13Okay. It all depends how you want to play your auctions, though.
20:17Exactly, yeah. In the sense of studs and duds, or if you want to try to build a more balanced roster out.
20:23Tier three, Chase Brown, A-Chan. Let's call these guys the late round one to late round two picks.
20:28Chase Brown, A-Chan, Ken Walker, Hampton, Gentee, Barkley, Henry.
20:3115 to 20. Oh, that's super cheap. Isn't it?
20:33Am I crazy? I mean, it's a sliding scale, right?
20:36I think so. But if you're saying like 17 bucks for Barkley and 25-ish for Taylor, you think that seems normal?
20:42Like that seems in line out of a $100 budget?
20:45Yeah. If you remove the names and you just talk about RB3 versus RB12, like that's about what they go for.
20:51Makes me want to take RB12 in that case.
20:53Well, that's what Dan's point is. Like you want to go studs and duds, or do you want to go more balanced?
21:00So you'd take two of those guys. Well, I just think everyone in tier three, Chase Brown, Devon, A-Chan, Walker, Hampton, Gentee,
21:06Barkley, Henry, could easily outscore Cook and Taylor, right?
21:08Like they're still phenomenal players with that potential. And that range is so good this year at running back in my mind,
21:15that like five through 12 range, let's just say it cuts off at maybe Henry.
21:19That honestly, a case can be made. This is a bad year to go studs and duds and auction because you're going
21:25to have every year, no matter what, those top guys do cost a considerable amount more than the next tier of guys.
21:31And you're probably going to get, you know, like five and 12 for the same price as Gibbs or Bijon.
21:37I think though you've got to sort of limit the amount of players you call studs.
21:41Yeah. I was like, if you're doing this, you're doing it for probably the top two running backs, the top three wide
21:48receivers, and maybe another handful of guys at most that qualify for this.
21:51For that. Yeah. Okay. Tier four is Josh Jacobs, Kyron Williams, and Jeremiah Love.
21:5512 to 15. That's fair. Jacobs has the potential certainly to move into the 15 to 20.
22:00I would say Love does as well. Okay. If you look at it, interesting love stat that I saw that I think is just great.
22:07Out of all the top 10 picks in the NFL draft of the running back position, there's been like seven of them.
22:13It's been like Leonard Fournette, Bijon Robinson, Saquon Barkley.
22:16The only one who finished outside the top 10 in fantasy points per game in his rookie year was Gente last year, and he was still RB 11.
22:24And that was probably the bottom out case for a situation for rookie running back.
22:28I know Love's situation is not good or great, but I don't think it could be as bad as that.
22:34The Raiders offense line was a stone worse than the NFL by far last year.
22:38He was hit behind the line of scrimmage more than any back in the NFL.
22:42I believe it was for Gente. And Love has a receiving profile that Gente doesn't really offer.
22:47So the reality is, I think there's a good chance that we're all kind of undervaluing love right now.
22:52You usually don't see a pick like this drafted outside the top 10 in ADP in his rookie year.
22:58I think he's outside the top 15 right now in ADP at running back, falling pretty much every day.
23:03I just feel like that's a good bet to make.
23:06And I haven't been in on Love the all offseason, but now I'm coming around based on kind of the game theory
23:12side of it, for me at least. There is one other name, though, that did not.
23:17What was it? Top 10 per game? Yeah. McCaffrey.
23:19I thought McCaffrey fit into that. I have to look at that again.
23:23He did not. He was about the 13th. Then maybe that was the one that they didn't include.
23:28Who did you say? No, because Gente didn't either.
23:31On a per game basis, they were both about 13 to 15 per game.
23:35No, Gente was 11. Overall? There's no way. Yeah, overall I'm talking about.
23:38Yeah. Okay. Overall? A place per game, he was worth.
23:41Overall, McCaffrey was ninth. Yeah. Yeah. It was on overall.
23:44Per game. McCaffrey only had 117 catches. Part of that is the volume aspect of it and the fact that if you're
23:50drafting, if you're a team that drafts or running back inside the top 10, you're going to feature them, especially toward the
23:56end of the year when your team stinks and you want to sell tickets, you want to do something for the fans, in my mind at least.
24:04Yeah. All right. And then let's get a few more tiers in their dollar values here.
24:09Tier, we get to like the round four running backs.
24:11Tier five, Javante, Breeze Hall, Scadaboo, Travis Etienne, Achan, Quinchon Judkins, DeAndre Swift, and David Montgomery.
24:16Eight to 12? Yeah. That's a fair range. I would say even cheaper, usually you're going to get them for.
24:22That's the point of all. Like these guys never end up going in that range in auctions or at least one or
24:28two of them will fall out into that five to eight range.
24:31And one more tier, tier six, Bucky Irving, Basil Tootin, Chuba Hubbard, Tony Pollard, Travion Henderson.
24:36Five to eight. Yeah. I'm surprised. I'm surprised to hear Bucky in that tier, but yeah, sure.
24:41Why? He's ahead of that for you? For me, by a lot.
24:44He's a tricky one. Why do you like him?
24:47I think I was trying to think of today, like the closest case last year, my big call at running back was James Cook.
24:53It was on our flag plan show and that was the guy I was all in on.
24:58So I think who's the closest bet to that.
25:01And part of why Cook was so devalued last year in ADP last August was we don't know what his red zone
25:07is going to roll is going to be. They take a lot of different backs on the field.
25:12He doesn't have a huge snap share. He's not a third.
25:15It's either third down back. He comes off on third downs.
25:18All those things were used against Cook to keep his ADP down last year.
25:22And those are the exact same arguments against Bucky.
25:25But if you look at 2024 data, Bucky was one of the best running backs in football.
25:30Yards after contact per attempt. Forced missed tackle. These were all top five metrics.
25:34Some of them were like historic levels with the 4.03 yards after contact per attempt.
25:38And I just look at the explosive plays he can create.
25:41Reminds me similar to James Cook. So if some of those touchdowns that like go away in the red zone or weren't
25:47there for Cook in the red zone over his few years turn into these 20, 30, 40 yard touchdown runs like we saw from Cook.
25:54Bucky's going to maybe fit that mold. I also think the offense is going to be a lot better.
26:00The Bucks were one of two teams with the Chargers that have like no snaps together with their starting offensive line because of injuries.
26:06They're going to be healthy. Baker Mayfield played hurt.
26:09That whole offense I think takes a big jump forward with Zach Robinson.
26:13And I think he fits Zach Robinson's run blocking scheme really well.
26:16So there's just a lot for me to like with Bucky.
26:19And the negatives are there. The red zone role and the passing down role.
26:23But I think those might be overstated a bit when it comes to just bringing down a finish profile, especially for a
26:29running back who's drafted outside the top 20 in his position.
26:32That's a pretty good case. I do worry about that.
26:35I do wonder about that sometimes where we – I think it's a little more relevant for Brees Hall than Bucky Irving
26:41because both of them – Because their offense sucks.
26:44Yeah. Well, no. Well, I was going to say like with both of those guys, you know, you're like, all right, this is a lead back.
26:51Brees Hall with the Jets. Bucky Irving with the Bucks.
26:54But you've got a third down back in Kenneth Gainwell.
26:57You've got a goal line back in Sean Tucker potentially.
27:00With Brees Hall, you've got a third down back in Isaiah Davis.
27:03You've got potentially a goal line back in Braylon Allen.
27:06I think the guys on Tampa Bay are better than the guys on the Jets though.
27:11By a lot. Yeah. Right. So that's kind of a ding against Bucky Irving.
27:15But I do wonder – We're saying the running backs.
27:17I thought you meant the supporting cast. No, the competition and running back.
27:21Yeah. Yeah. Brees Hall is right. He really – he may not be the third down back, but he really shouldn't come
27:27off the field that much of Braylon Allen. But Kenneth Gainwell is like a really good player.
27:32You know, Kenneth Gainwell is going to play. He's a good player.
27:36Yeah. They signed Gainwell for a reason. He's going to take the passing down role.
27:40And I think some people are saying in the chat, look, Tucker will take the red zone role.
27:45I would think that's most of the red zone role because the fact of the matter is – and I think you
27:51or Dave brought this up to me on a show recently, Adam.
27:55Before the injury last year, Bucky Irving, not only his work was trending up overall from a snap share standpoint, he was
28:01really well used in the passing game. He was kind of really good as a receiver.
28:05He was ninth best, I believe, in the past two seasons at yards per out run at the running back position for receiving.
28:12I just don't think they're going to take him off the field as much as people think.
28:17It's similar to the Cook thing. When he's your best back, and he is by far in my mind of those three,
28:23I think he's going to get more work than people assume.
28:26Seventh in yards per out run over the last two seasons.
28:29Okay. There it is. So good in the passing game.
28:32Okay. Let's go to our next one. And this is just kind of a funny one from a fellow irked Adam.
28:38I get the names that we give certain stats.
28:40It makes sense and the entire industry is on board.
28:43Though Green Zone is a CBS exclusive. That I don't know if it's true, but that'd be cool.
28:48I imagine that it bugs Adam that red zone targets count from where the ball is snapped, but end zone targets count from where the receiver is targeted.
28:56It does bother me. It bothers me a lot.
28:59There's nothing you can do about it, right? Because we can't count end zone snaps as balls that were snapped from the end zone.
29:06But it is a very different stat because you can have an end zone target from 40 yards out.
29:11And that ball could be – that does not count as a red zone or a green zone stat.
29:16Yeah. So anyway. Also, I was looking at like targets of three or fewer air yards.
29:21And I think if a guy runs a route like 10 yards downfield and the ball is batted down at the line
29:27of scrimmage, I think that actually counts as a target of three or fewer air yards.
29:32Right. So stats can be a little deceiving sometimes.
29:34All right. Here's one from Dean. Jamie, this is a question about – and we'll do grievance after this, but this is a question about teammates.
29:42He uses the word tandems, but he's talking about Puka and Devante, St.
29:45Brown and JMO, et cetera. Which tandem players do you think are worth the premium price tag?
29:50And which would you rather take the discount in the bargain department?
29:53So that could be Kyron and Coram, whatever it is.
29:56We're talking running backs or teammates in general? Yeah.
29:59I would say receiver, receiver, receiver or running back, running back.
30:02Okay. So the premiums would be Lamb and Pickens, Chase and Higgins.
30:05No, I think he's saying like within the tandem.
30:08Yeah. Which tandem is the better value, the premium guy?
30:11Oh, gotcha. Yeah. And which value is – which tandem is the better value in the discounted guy?
30:16So I guess that would be – like I'd rather have Puka than Adams.
30:20Is that what you're getting at? At cost. At cost.
30:23It's getting at. At cost. Okay. Like I'd rather have Chase at cost than Higgins even though Chase could be the number – Yes.
30:29I'd rather have Puka at cost than Adams. I'd rather have – I'd rather have Lamb at cost this year than Pickens.
30:36I'd rather have Lamb at cost than Pickens. I'd rather have Jefferson at cost than Addison.
30:40I'd rather have – I don't know how far down you want to go with this.
30:45I'd rather have Ibuka than Godwin even though that's a close one.
30:48Right. That is a close one. I would rather have Pittman and Josh Downs than the guys that are going ahead of them.
30:55At cost. At cost. At cost, yeah. How about St.
30:57Brown versus Jamison Williams? I'd rather have St. Brown.
31:00I love Luther Burden but I'd rather have Romo Dunze at cost than Burden because I think they're close.
31:05Okay. I think I'd rather have Mike Evans than Pearsall despite the cost for Pearsall being so cheap.
31:10I love Evans this year. I'd agree with that.
31:13Trying to think of the other fun ones that we might have missed.
31:17The Pickens-Lamb one is interesting because it's really just you have to pick one of them.
31:21Right. I mean I suppose you could take Lamb in the first and Pickens in the second.
31:26But you know where their ADPs are you just have to pick your favorite one.
31:30Right. I'd rather have that's a good one from Pops.
31:33I'd rather have Ladd McConkie than Quentin Johnson even though I like both.
31:37Wandale Robinson versus Carnell Tate? Wandale for sure. I'd rather have Wandale cost.
31:40I'd rather be straight up. You'd rather have Wandale straight up?
31:44For PPR leagues, yeah. Once a giant always a giant.
31:46No, it's just they sign him for $80 million and he plays the slot role in Dable's offense.
31:51Like what are we doing here? I'd rather have a lot.
31:55I'd rather have. This is a tough one. Alave Tyson.
31:57Tyson's so cheap. I'd rather have Parker Washington than Brian Thomas Jr.
32:01Their costs are almost the same though. Yep. So you'd rather just.
32:04What about Marv? This is a good one from Pop Soda.
32:07Marv or Wilson? I'd rather have Marv. I think so too.
32:10The splits with Marvin Wilson are bad and I love Wilson as a player.
32:14The splits are bad for both of them though in the second half of the season.
32:19True. But the splits with Harrison on the field are not good for Wilson.
32:23But that. But. But OK. Here's the thing about that.
32:26It's like Michael Wilson wasn't anything when Marvin Harrison was on the field until Harrison got hurt.
32:31When he had finally broken out and established himself, they basically had the same target share.
32:35But. But. Yeah. I mean Marvin Harrison was definitely the guy more so than than Wilson like for the half of a
32:41game that he would play when he came back.
32:44Mm hmm. I just don't want Marvin Harrison. I don't really want either guy.
32:48So if I'm going to waste a pick, I'd rather waste like a ninth round pick than a sixth round pick.
32:54Fair. All right. Let's go to our next question here.
32:57Let's go to another grievance. You want to go first this time?
33:00Can you actually have a good one? Well, most of what I have are just quirks that you have written down.
33:06But I did save one big and I'll get to all your quirks at some point.
33:10But I did save one big grievance that I was going to break for the end.
33:15But I'll bring it out now because you brought out that ridiculous one that I'm mad you read on air and I still don't stand by.
33:22I didn't touch anyone else's food. I used it and made sure I only got the stuff on my plate.
33:28But anyway, I invite Adam. We go to play tennis.
33:31We come back from the trip and I invite Adam up to my parents country.
33:35Basically country club. It's called Orange Lawn. It's a beautiful place.
33:38They just became members last year. They're new to the club.
33:41They had my brother's wedding there. Great place. They're trying to, you know, get in nicely there.
33:46Adam, we're about to start the match. My dad and my mom are playing tennis on another court next to us.
33:52And they're rallying. They're about to have fun. And I was like, wait, wait, wait.
33:56I need a towel. So my dad has to like go inside to the pro shop and get Adam a towel.
34:02Because obviously like Adam's like, no, no, don't do it.
34:05Don't do it. But like my dad's not going to not do it once he's asked to do it.
34:10Like, you know, like he wants to be a nice guy.
34:14So he goes and does it. So they stopped.
34:16Why couldn't either one of you go get the towel yourself?
34:19We were pretty far away. We were farther away.
34:22Anyway, this is a minor part of the story.
34:24That was fine. So then we get to the match.
34:27We're playing, you know, we're on this country club.
34:30I am not a member there. My parents are one year into their membership.
34:34Again, I'm not a member. Adam's certainly not a member.
34:37The match goes on. It's 5-4. Last point of the set.
34:40Adam makes a nice serve. I barely return it back.
34:42But Adam runs around his forehand and tries to hit like this down the line winner.
34:47He misses the shot and starts screaming at himself.
34:50Adam, I can't believe you did. You knew you weren't going to get that.
34:54Takes his hat, throws it on the ground, makes this whole scene there.
34:57And then it's like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
35:00I'm so sorry. But the damage had been done, Jamie, right?
35:03He already made the scream. He made the commotion.
35:06He threw that. So mad at himself. Adam's screaming at himself.
35:09I believe he did two curses, if I remember right.
35:12Cursed at himself twice out loud, loudly for anyone to hear and anyone to see at this club.
35:17And look, I invite him up to a place, a really nice place.
35:21And this is how he treats it. I felt really bad about that.
35:24But no one was around us. We were pretty much the only ones on the court.
35:29I did not throw my hat on the ground.
35:31I threw my hat like 50 feet across the court.
35:34Yeah, you chucked that thing. I believe you cursed at yourself at least twice.
35:38Yeah, it was bad. It was embarrassing. Dan, what kind of water are you drinking there?
35:43Saratoga, baby. I buy it too for myself. It's my favorite water.
35:46It wasn't as embarrassing as we were sitting with Alfredo Brown, who's at the conference, and a guy who works with us, Brandon Stalling.
35:53And Dan went to tell a story. And he opened the story.
35:56And this is a quote. He said, quote, have you guys ever heard of the show Survivor on TV?
36:02And they were just like, yeah. Have you ever heard of American Idol?
36:05It was the dumbest question. Of course, we've heard of Survivor.
36:09Obviously, that's just how you start a story. You get them going.
36:12I could have said, you know the show Survivor.
36:14There's no big difference there. That was a bad one.
36:17Also, no. It was so funny. Also, Dan, we all had our badges on with our names on them.
36:23Someone asked. I think someone asked Dan where he was from.
36:26Dan just holds his badge out so he could see.
36:29And the badge was backwards. There was a first time attendees.
36:32You're just rapid firing them now? I get one and you get as many as you want.
36:37There was a first time attendees happy hour. And we were all sitting there chatting, whatever.
36:41And then someone wanted to make a little speech.
36:44So they're like, hey, can I have everyone's attention here?
36:46Dan takes it upon himself to shush the back.
36:49No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I did a great thing there.
36:53You shushed them. Hold on. I did not shush them.
36:56Now let me tell the real story. Oh, you absolutely shushed them anyway.
36:59Scott's here. Scott's here. You were wrong about that.
37:02So CBS was hosting reception on the first day.
37:04And the woman who was organizing came in and she said, she's like, come on.
37:09Everybody can be. Can everybody be quiet? And nobody's listening to her.
37:12Come on. Can we be quiet for one second?
37:15So I did something that really helps it get quiet for a second.
37:18I went in the room. Everyone hears that little sound in the right ear.
37:22Yes, it's annoying in some context. I agree with that.
37:25I would never want to do it in some context.
37:28But in this context, it worked like a charm.
37:30Everyone got quiet and she was able to make her speech.
37:33And she was allowed to make the speech that she wanted to make that no one was paying attention to and no one was so disrespectful towards her.
37:41So in that context, it was actually a great shush.
37:44How did it go? It was a great shush.
37:47It was. In that context, it was. And trust me, Dan is the shush guy.
37:51I love your passion. I'm the shush guy. In that single context.
37:54And I'm not a big fan of shushing. Trust me, I'm not a shush guy.
37:59In most spots, you don't shush. But in this one, nobody's listening.
38:02They're so disrespectful towards her. I'm trying to get her to allow.
38:05I'm allowing her to make her speech and it worked.
38:08I think it was a little bit of a hasty shush.
38:11I think you're exaggerating how long it took before you decided to shush everyone.
38:15I think you couldn't wait to shush people. We're going to take a break.
38:19By the way, he's really shocked to you that Dan loves Curb Your Enthusiasm.
38:23This guy is channeling Larry David. We'll be right back on Facebook.
38:27So you just got four in right there while I got one.
38:30That's nice. I drove Dan to get a cheesesteak.
38:33When we got back in the car, he opened my car door directly onto a wooden post on the sidewalk.
38:38Claimed that he stopped it with his hand. I stopped it with my hand.
38:42I saw the sound of a car door hitting a wooden post.
38:46No, I stopped that with my hand. And that was prior to Adam trying to parallel park, which was a nightmare within
38:52its own self watching him parallel park. Did a horrific job on the first try.
38:56He's like, was my technique all right? Tell me what to do.
39:00I'm like, I have to tell you how to parallel park a car.
39:03Is your technique all right? I said, what is he, Meadow Soprano?
39:07I don't know, dude. He's like, was my technique okay?
39:09Can you tell me what to do? I'm like, I don't know, man.
39:13You don't know how to parallel park a car.
39:16You straighten it out. And then you cut the wheel.
39:18You go back a little and you cut the wheel.
39:21And he's like, all right. And then he did it.
39:24And he's like, that was good, right? I was like, I guess it was not the right technique.
39:29But he just kind of like fit it in there a little bit.
39:33And there was so much space to work with, too, by the way.
39:37Yeah, okay. It wasn't my best. This is from Matthew.
39:39He needs a keeper for next year. It's a 10-team league.
39:43It's six point per passing touchdown. It's PPR. It's two running backs, two receivers, two flex, only one quarterback.
39:48Who are you keeping? Jameer Gibbs in the second round, Tyler Warren in the 11th round, or Drake May in the 13th?
39:54Gibbs. Yeah, I think it has to be Gibbs here in these types of leagues, especially they tend to be shallower.
40:00And it tends to be a better thing to keep the higher-end players in these leagues.
40:05You know, I do know how to parallel park.
40:07It was a really bad parallel park job. I will say that.
40:11Are you sure? Damage to your car? What's that?
40:13Was there damage to your car from the post?
40:16No, I hit my hand. Yeah, check your car.
40:18Check the tape. I actually haven't even checked. I don't know.
40:21Check the tape. There'll be nothing there. Bring Scott on.
40:24Scott, well, he's not backstage. He's not in this room.
40:27No, Scott mentioned a grievance that I haven't been allowed to say.
40:30I'll just share that now. We get to the cheesesteak place.
40:34Angelo's cheesesteak. Shout out. Best cheesesteak I think I've ever had.
40:37Thought it was fantastic. Adam takes a really bad picture of it.
40:40Like, my picture looked a lot better. But regardless, you can see the Cooper Sharp there.
40:45It was a great cheesesteak. We eat it. Everybody seems to like it.
40:48Scott loves it. We're with Scott Fish. And who else were we with from?
40:52Joe Bryant. Joe Bryant from Football Guys. Yes. Great dude.
40:55I had never met him before. Really nice guy.
40:58Everybody seems to love the cheesesteak. I was like, yeah, this really lived up to the hype.
41:02Adam, how's your cheesesteak? It's a little too heavy.
41:05Too heavy for a cheesesteak. Like, what are you expecting to get into when you eat a cheesesteak?
41:10If the words too heavy come out of your mouth for a cheesesteak, something went wrong there.
41:15You're a good storyteller. I got to give it to you.
41:18You know, you've had burgers before where it's like, this is good, but man, I feel like kind of gross.
41:24Listen, man. Like, this is why. Of course you feel gross after eating a cheesesteak.
41:28This is why I have a chance to beat Dan.
41:31All right. Like, there's four of us eating these Angelo's cheesesteaks.
41:34I'll throw the picture up again. I ate half of mine.
41:37Scott Fish ate half of his. Joe Bryan ate half of his.
41:40These are responsible adults, but we're also guys who could put away a cheesesteak if we wanted to.
41:45Dan ate the whole thing, and it was really heavy.
41:48Like, it was greasy, and it made me feel really full, and I didn't want to feel that way.
41:54It was good. I liked the cheesesteak, but it was very heavy.
41:57You can't be eating. What did you do with the rest of it?
42:01I put it in my fridge. Oh, that's the other story.
42:04I put it in the fridge at the hotel.
42:06I left it there. Dan was so pissed because he wanted to eat it two days later.
42:11I was eating that cheesesteak. Yeah. When am I going to get Angelo's cheesesteak again?
42:15Probably not for years. I had a half of one sitting in Adam's fridge.
42:19He just left it there. You are literally George Costanza.
42:22Who, me or Dan? Dan. Yeah, of course he is.
42:25Jose is very nervous about missing out on Colston Loveland.
42:28I understand he performed great at the end of last season and in the playoffs, but I'm not sold on drafting him.
42:34Are there any players in the past that performed well at the end of the season and in the playoffs then carry that momentum into the following season?
42:42You showed a whole list of it on the wide receiver.
42:45I did. This is perfect timing. I hope I still have.
42:48Oh, it was in my Parker Washington notes. But yeah, two good examples would be Jackson Smith and Jigba.
42:54And who was the year before that? Rasheed Rice?
42:56With the playoffs? Yeah. Rasheed Rice in his rookie year.
42:59Amon Reiss St. Brown in his rookie year. These guys had like six game sample sizes.
43:04Rasheed Rice actually wasn't that good in the playoffs his rookie year, but he was phenomenal down the stretch of his rookie year in the regular season.
43:11And then he only played three games. Okay, played four snaps in a fourth game.
43:15But he was great. He's just been great ever since breaking out.
43:19Amon Reiss St. Brown was phenomenal in his second year.
43:22And then JSN was phenomenal in his third year.
43:24But yeah, most of the guys who had these big finishes and then a big ADP boost the next year over the last two years.
43:31So Brian Thomas Jr., Malik Neighbors, Jerry Judy, Ladd McConkie, Cortland Sutton, Jamison Williams, Marvin Mims.
43:36Mims being the worst example because he was like 152nd in ADP.
43:39They were all busts. Some of them injury related.
43:42The year before that, CeeDee Lamb, his big finish pushed him to wide receiver one.
43:46And he ended up as wide receiver nine. Wide receiver one in ADP, I mean.
43:50And he ended up being wide receiver nine. Christian Watson, Zay Flowers, Jaden Reed.
43:54These guys were either slight busts or big busts.
43:57So it is just always you want to see more establishment.
44:00But keep in mind, it can happen. And two of the three examples I gave you were rookies, right?
44:05They were St. Brown and Rasheed Rice. The other guy was a third year player, second year player when he broke out in Jackson Smith and Jigba.
44:13So I think it's better when a young guy does it.
44:16Like when Jerry Judy does it, okay, we have enough of a history there.
44:20But all right, that's just a repeat of yesterday's show.
44:23This is from Charles in Texas. He says, respectfully regarding the cherries and fruit salad discussion, it's ridiculous.
44:28Have you never heard of maraschino cherries? Those are the only cherries that belong in a fruit salad if cherries belong at all.
44:34Please put this discussion to bed once and for all.
44:37Cherry pitters, man. Yeah, maraschino cherries belong in drinks and that's it.
44:41Yeah, I wouldn't want a maraschino cherry in a fruit salad.
44:44Yeah, they're gross. If you're looking for like a sugar high, yes.
44:47Yeah, what are those things like soaked in sugar?
44:50Why do they taste the way they do? I actually don't mind them, but I wouldn't eat them.
44:55Obviously, who doesn't mind them? It's just like a sugar cherry.
44:58But like why do they taste so sugary? Yeah, they don't belong in sugar.
45:02Oh, it's syrup. It's probably soaked in syrup, I bet, right?
45:05Those maraschino? Yeah. Maraschino. Go ahead, say that one.
45:08A little diabetes boost. Say that one. What kind of cherry is it?
45:11Maraschino or something? Maraschino. No, remember Grievance. Remember when we left a chair?
45:15I'm excited to get to this one. Yeah, so we were at the same dinner where Dan used his dirty fork.
45:21I did not do that. Well, you did. You admitted to doing it.
45:25You admitted to doing it, right? This is the thing.
45:27He admitted to doing it. Now he says, I did not do that.
45:31Because I touched only the stuff that I put on my plate.
45:34Okay. Did you take your own fork that was in your own mouth and put it into a serving tray that was meant for other people?
45:42It's a small cup. No, no, no. Yes or no?
45:45No one ate. Yes. Okay. That's all you need to say.
45:48So the dinner was about half CBS people, half non-CBS people.
45:51And for some reason- Is that the one I saw the picture of?
45:55Yeah, I think so. Yeah. And when I sat there, there was an empty seat.
45:59And it was between me and Dan. Imagine the poor guy who has to come late and get that seat.
46:04Oh, I would never know what that's like. He was, yeah, right.
46:08He was such a nice guy. He was like early 30s, you know, so happy.
46:12He had just gotten engaged. He was like telling the story about the proposal.
46:16He had just gotten a puppy. Like everything. This guy was loving his life.
46:20And then he made the mistake of mispronouncing the name of an Italian restaurant to Dan Schneier.
46:25What was the name of the restaurant? D'Alessandro's? And he- That's the actual name.
46:29D'Alessandro's. D'Alessandro's or something like that? D'Alessandro's. So this is what actually happened.
46:32You destroyed him. You destroyed him for doing this.
46:35No, I did not destroy him. I didn't even come close to destroying him.
46:39You're exaggerating the hell out of this story. First of all.
46:42Second of all, I got a DM from him the other day.
46:46Like, yo, dude, it was so fun hanging with you.
46:48You were the man. So clearly your take on what happened.
46:51Did you get that DM? I don't think so.
46:54No, I'm actually a little upset because I thought we hit it off.
46:58Yeah. And no, you did not apparently. But anyway- Are you both fighting for his attention?
47:02I guess so. Great guy. I guess so. Anyway, dinner's going on.
47:06And we're talking about best cheesesteaks. I told him we went to Angelo's.
47:09We're in Philly. He's a Philly guy. You know, he knows the area.
47:13He's like- He does. And he's an Italian guy too.
47:16He's born Italian. You know how I feel. I wish I was born Italian.
47:20I'm a wannabe Italian person. Anyway, he's like, yeah.
47:22There's actually a really good one I went to called D'Alessandro's.
47:25That's how you pronounce it. D'Alessandro's. Like two words.
47:28D'Aless-Aless-Andrews. Like Mark Andrews. I was like, actually, I think it's pronounced D'Alessandro's.
47:32And he was like, you're right. Oh, yeah. That's how it went down.
47:35He literally said you're right. Thank you, Dan, for correcting me.
47:38He did, dude. He actually did. He's like, you're actually right, man.
47:42I didn't destroy him. He's like, you're actually right.
47:44I messed that one up. Oh, man. He was going to say, like, I don't want him saying it.
47:50I think I did him a favor in the long term.
47:53I don't want him telling everybody I went to D'Aless-Andrews when it's really D'Aless-Aless-Andrews.
47:57The Philly people in this chat will back me up.
48:00Like, it's called D'Aless-Andrews. Do we want him just sitting there calling it D'Aless-Andrews the rest of his life?
48:05I helped him. Yeah, no. You did help him.
48:08What site did he work for again? Splashboards. Yeah.
48:10I think we should do a survivor pool for the F&D listeners.
48:14That would be cool. It's a great site. Yeah.
48:16When he said the restaurant's name incorrectly, did you go, shh?
48:19That shh was taken out of context. I really helped get that speech along the way.
48:24It was going to take another three minutes. Also, Dan just, like, took way too many of the complimentary things.
48:29This is his glass, his cup of water. There were three lemons and two limes in there.
48:34He had five. There's plenty of lemons out there, boys.
48:37There was no reason not to take lemons. It made the drink better.
48:41You don't take five pieces of citrus. There's three pieces of lemon in there.
48:45Yeah, but you can't see the lime. There's two lime in there.
48:48I put it in my notes. There's no lime.
48:51That might be the greatest sense ever said on FFT.
48:53What? You don't take five pieces of citrus. You don't.
48:56There was so much. There was unlimited amounts of fruit cut that day.
49:00This is a great, great lime. It made the drink so much better.
49:04Survivor pool. You know, that reminds me of this obscure TV show.
49:07Thank you for mommy burger for that one. All right.
49:10You have anything you'd like to air before we get to the fantasy cops?
49:14I just don't like what Mr. Red said in the comments.
49:17I wasn't trying to. Trust me. It wasn't viewed.
49:20He was not offended at all. I just didn't want him saying Della Sanders about a place that's called Della Sandro's.
49:25I think that's pretty OK. But anyway. Oh, I got a few more things.
49:29I'll do the quirks. You want to. You just did a million.
49:33Don't even. You have all the day. You have all this like these like.
49:37What's the word? Like you have ways to let me do a couple of things.
49:41We'll just say that. One, we get to the hotel.
49:44I want to go to the bar and like meet up with some people at the conference.
49:49Adam's like, no, let's just go up to the room.
49:52I was like, all right. And then I was like, wait a second.
49:55I think Scott Fish is down there. Let's go check it out.
49:59And Adam's like, you lead the way. You lead the way.
50:02You go in there to the bar. So I have to do the leading of the bar.
50:07Didn't love that. We get to the hotel to pay for the room.
50:10You got to give a credit card incidental. Adam pulls out his wallet.
50:14I may be the one who's more like Larry David on the show, but my God, does he have a Costanza wallet?
50:20I cannot believe Adam's wallet. That thing must have legitimately been three and a half pounds of weight.
50:25Honestly, that is the heaviest, oldest looking worn out leather wallet I've ever seen.
50:29He had three badges from CBS. He hasn't worked in an office for CBS in five years.
50:34He has three of his old CBS badges that he took out.
50:37Just unbelievable. It's true. It's true. Yeah. Yeah. So there's another one for Adam.
50:41I got a few more. We used to steal his wallet, right?
50:45Yeah. I did hear about that. I love that you used to prank.
50:48I love that you used to prank Adam in the office.
50:52But yeah, he's still the fattest Costanza wallet. Another one.
50:54I go to the bathroom. We're listening to one of the speakers at the conference.
50:59We're sitting next to each other at a table.
51:01I go to the bathroom. I get back from the bathroom.
51:04What do I notice, Jamie? Adam's feet are up on my seat.
51:08His dirty, disgusting shoes right on the seat. Just lounging out there.
51:11I, it's not like, okay, you can make fun of my wallet.
51:14There's nothing wrong with my shoes. They're normal shoes.
51:17They're dirty. They go on the ground. They're sneakers.
51:20You put them right up on my seat. I didn't think you were coming back.
51:24Why not? It was the middle of the thing.
51:26It was the middle of the day. There was no, no sign that I wasn't coming back.
51:31I was going to the bathroom. I didn't think I had to announce I was going to the bathroom for you to
51:37not put your feet up on my seat, but I guess I was wrong about that one.
51:42Guilty as charged. We'll throw that one in there as well.
51:45Guilty as charged. Here's another one. Every single Uber we got into.
51:49I mean, every single Uber we got into. Adam told the world, every Uber driver.
51:53Nope. This Uber driver doesn't give a crap about Adam's stories or any of his.
51:57He just wants to get to point A to point B and get to his next ride.
52:02But every Uber driver had to hear about, can you believe this guy?
52:06He's never seen Rocky every Uber driver that we got in.
52:09It's unbelievable. There's another one. Okay, here's another one.
52:11I'll throw in there. We on the way home, we got to get gas.
52:15We stop in New Jersey for gas and he pulls other car and he just goes, and he gets so pissed at himself.
52:22Oh, come on. You did. You did like a, I'm like, what?
52:25He's like, forgot you have to pump your, I forgot there's a gas attendant in this state.
52:30I was like, is that a bad thing that somebody is going to pump your gas?
52:35This is one of the greatest parts about being in New Jersey.
52:38And you never have to get out of your car.
52:41They'll just do it for you. So that was a shocking one to see.
52:45Also, he weirdly was like, oh no panic mode for a second.
52:48He's like, where's my credit card? Where's my credit card?
52:51And realized he already handed it to the guy.
52:54Just crazy frazzled moment by him. What was that thing with the credit card?
52:58There's something like that. It wasn't that. No, I couldn't find my, yeah, I couldn't find my.
53:02You thought you left in the hotel room, right?
53:05Yeah, I did. You thought you gave it to the hotel person.
53:08All right. Here's another one. Let's see what else I got.
53:11What did Scott hear about you learning about landscaping?
53:14Uh, yeah. Scott's partner for fantasy cares is like a, it's like a fancy landscape.
53:18Massive landscaping situation. He's talking to the guy for 20 minutes.
53:21The guy doesn't want to listen. He's like, can you tell me about your landscaping?
53:26He's like, dude, I do like luxury landscaping. I can't give you everyday stuff.
53:29That's basically what the conversation. You were just making up words.
53:33You were just making up. You were pressing him, dude.
53:35You were pressing him for landscaping information. He had no interest in a conversation.
53:39That is true. I caught that one on the side.
53:42Trust me. That happened. Um, one final one here.
53:45Well, you just went off and said like 15 of mine.
53:48Not even air agreements. You're just making up stories now.
53:51No, none of this was made up. That all happened.
53:54I don't even, I don't even landscape. Oh God.
53:56Oh, that's it. You talk to him. You're like, I need help with my, with my, with my yard.
54:01You did not go through that conversation. I definitely heard that.
54:05No, I had one question. I had two questions.
54:07I think about sprinklers and stones. All right. All right.
54:10Well, it seemed like he was really interested in giving you that information.
54:14Trying to get to his next destination. Uh, one final thing.
54:17This is not a grievance, but it's a really funny story from the trip.
54:21We're driving up there and Adam's telling me about like all these group chats.
54:25He's in. So, oh my gosh, I could tell this, right?
54:28There's no reason not to use names or anything.
54:30No, I'm going to keep it as vague as possible.
54:33I think no. No? No. They got to do it now.
54:36There's no way. There's no way. Adam, Adam, Adam.
54:39Shh. Go ahead. There's no way you can tell this story well without saying that.
54:43I'm going to use no names or anything. I think no.
54:46I think it's a no. Okay. All right. Forget this one.
54:49This is kind of the funniest story of the trip.
54:52I'll tell you after the podcast. It was one of the funny.
54:56It was so funny. We were laughing so freaking hard.
54:58I know why you don't want me to tell, but I was going to leave that part out, but it's okay.
55:04All right, fine. Go ahead. No, no. If you think it's all right, fine.
55:08Come on, Dan. As long as you leave that part out.
55:11I know the part you need that needs to be left out.
55:15So he's like, oh, here's all these group chats I'm in.
55:18Here's one with me and I'm going to say me and a group of friends that we root for something, whatever.
55:24And so he's like telling me about the chat.
55:26He clicks it on his on his like screen on the car.
55:30And so now he just starts reeling off stuff about this chat.
55:33He's talking about the people in the chat. He's saying all this stuff about the chat.
55:38And then he's talking about some event that went down and he starts cursing.
55:42He starts reeling off something, got him worked up, I guess, about the chat or whatever.
55:46So then he's like going through this. It's like this two minute rant Adam has.
55:50And then there's a stoppage point in the rant.
55:53And we just start hearing Siri in the car, reading back everything Adam just said, just reading it, reading in the Siri voice with the cursing and everything.
56:01And we thought that for a quick second, like, oh, no, this is going to get sent to that chat.
56:07Like, Siri thought it was going to be this whole thing of Adam ranting sent right to the chat.
56:12It was going to be so hard for him to explain this off.
56:16So we had a really good laugh there. Like, it was going to rate.
56:20It was going to be, do you want me to send this?
56:23And like, I cut it off by sending a text message manually, like during her.
56:27But while driving, that was really sick. It was pretty incredible.
56:30Yeah, it was very funny. All right. Fantasy cops.
56:33This is from, oh, I don't even know anywhere.
56:35From Patrick. Patrick is in a fantasy league that is 20 years old.
56:39It's a super flex keeper league. You can keep two players for their draft costs last year.
56:44And you can now trade future draft picks in season.
56:47So this season, Kyle decided to sell off his team.
56:50In one of his trades, he acquired a random tight end, KDOTN.
56:53For a part of a larger package with Matt.
56:56Later, Matt, who was in first place, needed a tight end fill in for a bye week.
57:00So Kyle traded Otten back to Matt. And they agreed to swap their two picks in the 12th round as compensation.
57:06Is this collusion? A, they traded a player once and then back.
57:10And sure, he was just a throw in. And it was around four to six weeks later.
57:15But B, swapping picks in the 12th is equivalent to essentially nothing.
57:18So to me, it appears they are essentially sharing bench players.
57:21Technically, we have no rule against this and it was not vetoed, but it stinks.
57:25A team who was tanking their season is helping the first place team with a bye week fill in.
57:31Sure, it's an extremely low impact move. I don't believe they are sharing winnings.
57:35But if I had demanded a veto due to collusion, would I have had a case?
57:39Side note, because of this and Kyle's careless fire sale this year, we have now banned in-season draft pick trades to minimize tanking.
57:46Yeah, it's unfortunate. It's interesting. They're in the 20th year of the league.
57:49It doesn't sound like an auction, but it's similar.
57:52We had similar problems. Every single problem we had in our league was due to...
57:56We had a team that tanked, traded away draft dollars in an auction league, and it ruined the entire integrity of the league.
58:03Unfortunately, when you allow these things like trading next year picks, it does create this massive gray area.
58:08I would say the easiest solution out of this in the future ban trading future picks or future draft dollars.
58:13As far as dealing with the current situation, I think the best scenario is to do what you guys did, which is nip it in the bud.
58:21Don't say, oh, there was no rule against it.
58:24You kind of quirked your way around it and found a rule, because that's what we've done in the past in my
58:30league that's going into year 20, and it really led to an unfair situation and a really unbalanced level, not level playing
58:36field by just allowing the person or people to kind of skate around the rules and find their own quirk here.
58:42So as far as is that collusion in the past, the way we've dealt with it, we did not consider it collusion
58:48because it wasn't technically against the rules at the time.
58:51So I think that's probably the best way to approach it as far as kicking these people out of your league or not.
58:58I wouldn't do that for that reason. But I would personally change the rule on the spot.
59:02I think you just have to establish it. Are you allowed to trade players back once they're traded to another team?
59:08So can you swap players, the same player, later in the year?
59:12Yeah. I mean, I think you can. I think there should just be, you know, it's got to be like a month later, four weeks later, whatever.
59:19I don't have that rule in any of my leagues, and it's just never come up really.
59:24But this is such an obvious example of just helping a team during his bye week when it doesn't really matter.
59:30You swap 12th round picks, whatever. So it doesn't feel right.
59:33But if you put it into rules or you can trade a player back after, you know, a certain amount of weeks, you don't want to do it.
59:41I don't like it, you know, to do it the next week because then you're just, hey, I got this player on a bye and you're just swapping.
59:49That just doesn't feel like you're borrowing. Yeah. Yeah.
59:52It doesn't feel like in the spirit. See if we have any good comments here.
59:56No grievances about how Adam or Dan drives is a huge upset for me.
60:00I thought for sure one of them would drive too slow.
60:03Well, I didn't get a chance to drive. Adam wouldn't let me drive his car halfway, which I would have gracefully done.
60:09And I can drive a car, Adam. So I don't know what you think I am.
60:14Somebody who hasn't lived, you know, however many years on this earth with a driver's license, 20 now or whatever, less than that.
60:20But like point being, you just didn't trust me to drive your car.
60:24So I never got a chance to. But as far as how did Adam drive?
60:28As you would expect, cautiously let a lot of people pass him.
60:32Is he a 10 and 2 guy? Is he a, I'm a one-handed driver.
60:36No, he's not a 10 and 2 guy, but he was a very cautious driver.
60:40Let a lot of people pass him. And thankfully he didn't do the one thing you should.
60:45No, that's true, Adam. You would disagree with that?
60:47Yeah. I mean, I'm a cautious driver. It's a good thing to be.
60:51Yeah. It's a good thing to be. You're not speeding or anything.
60:54That's good. I'm a speeder. I speed. You didn't speed at all once on that trip.
60:59At times you might have even been going below.
61:01This is why you can't believe. At times you might have gone below the speed.
61:06There is never a time. There's pretty much never a time, never a time when I'm on the highway and not going
61:12over the speed limit, unless I can't. If I can go over the speed limit, I 100%, I go up to 10,
61:18maybe 15 miles per hour over the speed limit.
61:21Adam, you know on these cars now, it shows the miles per hour, right?
61:25So I could see it the whole time. You just, you're just wrong.
61:28Like I didn't want to be in that car any longer than I needed to.
61:32Not because of you, just because it was a long trip.
61:36By the way, Dan and I had a great car ride.
61:39We didn't listen to the radio once. Like we just talked.
61:42We had good conversations on that car ride. Adam is the man.
61:45But as far as the one thing he didn't do, which was good on the road, he wasn't one of those guys
61:51that like sits in the left lane at the speed limit.
61:55And that block, you never, you're supposed to let people pass on the left.
61:59The left is for passing and the middle or the right is for the type of driving Adam does.
62:04Dan describing driving is the way I anticipate Adam doing Dan's impression of Dan driving, describing driving.
62:09Look at these sucking candies, Jamie. Dan had so many of these.
62:12I had five total on the trip. No, you had five the first day.
62:16No, no. That was three and two. It was three and two.
62:19Yeah, they're little sucking candies. They're so small. Like one a day because that's what you do.
62:24Oh, good for you. You don't eat candy. You're the best.
62:27No, it's just they're for everyone. Dude, there was trays of this on every table and I had five total.
62:33That's crazy. At one point, there was a- Can't take five pieces of citrus.
62:37There was a- Oh yeah, too bad. There was a snack bar.
62:40It was like nuts and like some dry fruit and some M&Ms.
62:44And you know, it's like, like, you know, have you ever seen those like tubes of cereal where you kind of crank
62:50it and the food comes out or whatever? There were not that many M&Ms in that thing.
62:55It was like that. So Dan takes a bowl, puts nothing but M&Ms in the bowl.
62:59No, you made that up. Removes the red and blue ones.
63:02Wait, now you're just lying. He looks at me and says, go Giants.
63:06And then he dumps the rest of the M&Ms back in the tube.
63:10Mm-hmm. That was made up entirely, obviously. That would have been amazing though.
63:14Yeah. Amazing. You would have loved that. All right.
63:16Those are our grievances. Yeah, go ahead. No, I was just going to say, those are our grievances.
63:21And the best part of the show is Dan trying to get a comeback in and then Thomas is going to commercial
63:27break in the middle of Dan's first word. Cut it right off.
63:31All right. Thanks for watching and listening, everybody. And we'll talk to you next week.
