0:41Catching you up on the off-season storylines in the NFC right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
0:46Welcome everybody. Jamie, hello. Hello. You know, we got rid of that crappy AFC the other day.
0:52Finally, we're onto the NFC. That's what everybody's in the mood for here.
0:56All Giants all the time. Yeah, all Giants all the time.
0:59And they truly had one of the more interesting off-seasons of any team in the NFC.
1:04But if we look at the NFC East, Dallas Cowboys, Eagles, and Commanders, what do the people need to know?
1:11What stands out to you? I think for the most part, the Giants are the story, except for maybe if you look at the Eagles with losing A.J.
1:19Brown and what's going to happen there. So Brown gets traded to New England.
1:24They draft Makai Lemon. Can Devante Smith assume the responsibilities and more importantly, the production of being the number one guy there?
1:31How does Dallas Goddard fit into this after coming off an 11-touchdown season?
1:35Is Lemon worth drafting in the first 100 picks?
1:38I think the Eagles offense is going to be fun to watch in training camp and hopefully we get a better version
1:45of Jalen Hurts, who's seen his fantasy points per game decline each of the last four seasons, which is not what you
1:51want to see from a guy that has his upside and potential.
1:55Also, two new offensive coordinators in the division as well as a new head coach.
2:00So you have new head offense coordinator in Washington.
2:03So I hope we get a great version of Jaden Daniels.
2:06Really, I think if just Jaden Daniel stays healthy, that's important, but we'll see if they add another pass catcher.
2:12Chico Conkle could be a sleeper tight end, as we just discussed on tight end tiers.
2:17And in Philadelphia, new offensive coordinator as well. For the Giants, it's really, we're just waiting to see what happens with Malik Nabors at this point.
2:26Can he stay healthy? Got great news on Cam Scadaboo, but neighbors coming off the ACL tear.
2:31It's kind of been all over the place. Latest report is we hope to get him healthy for training camp.
2:37I do not expect to see him in week one.
2:40I think we have seven players on the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants being drafted before the first commander.
2:46Seven players on the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants before the first commander.
2:50I guess it depends on two QB leagues. That wouldn't be the case.
2:54But yeah, Terry McLaurin is going to be the first commander drafted.
2:58And I would suspect if nobody else is added, he could get into round four.
3:02I think it might be six because I actually he's going just ahead of Scadaboo.
3:07So it's one giant, two Eagles and three Cowboys.
3:10All right, let's go to the probably get drafted ahead of neighbors and neighbors on the published.
3:15Yeah, I could see Scadaboo getting ahead of McLaurin, though.
3:18It's close. Let's go to the north division. We're super excited about this division.
3:23But and maybe Kyler Murray gets the Vikings back on track.
3:26We could have four. I think we should have at least three great offenses, maybe four in the NFC North.
3:33What do people need to know? I mean, the Vikings, you know, the biggest change because of the quarterback there.
3:39So if Kyler Murray is right and was a very successful fantasy quarterback to open his career, then had the ACL tear
3:46and then struggled the last couple of seasons. But every quarterback that Kevin O'Connell has worked with, aside from J.J.
3:52McCarthy, has helped this offense be productive, even Carson Wentz last year.
3:56So if Kyler Murray can excel in this offense, that's great for Justin Jefferson, great for Jordan Addison, hopefully good for Juwan Jennings and TJ Hawkinson.
4:04And then we have to see what happens at the running back position where we've gotten a couple reports about Jordan Mason
4:11being the lead guy this year ahead of Aaron Jones.
4:14For Detroit, it's just a new coordinator. And what does that mean for Sam Laporta?
4:19Because Drew Petsing comes from Arizona, comes from the Kevin Stefanski tree.
4:22Tight ends have been very prominent. You have Amon-Ra St.
4:26Brown. You have Jameson Williams. You have Jameer Gibbs.
4:28Remember, they lose David Montgomery. We like Gibbs as the number one overall player, number one running back.
4:34But if Petsing's offense is great for Laporta, Laporta could push to be a top five tight end.
4:40The Packers lose two wide receivers in Romeo Dobbs and Nontavian Wicks.
4:43Do not replace them with anybody, but they're hoping to get Tucker Craft back for week one after dealing with the ACL tear last year.
4:51Christian Watson's in a great spot. I think there's going to be opportunities for Jaden Reed and Matthew Golden to great late
4:58round picks or end of the mid round group of wide receivers.
5:02But Christian Watson could be a breakout candidate. Tucker Craft could be a top three tight end.
5:07He was number two in points per game last year before suffering his knee injury.
5:12And then the Bears, they lose DJ Moore. We love everything about Chicago.
5:16Love Caleb Williams. ADP is higher than we are, but top 10 quarterback.
5:20The receivers are going to be awesome. Probably somebody will let you down, but at least going into the year, Colston Loveland finished last year strong.
5:28Everybody loves Luther Burden as a breakout. And if you recall what Romo Dunze did at the start of the season before
5:35his foot injury, he was on pace for a breakout season.
5:39So there's a lot just to like about Chicago's offense passing game wise.
5:43And then DeAndre Swift still a very good running back.
5:46Question for Minnesota. Just for you to think about out there.
5:49Is there a team in the NFC that has a bigger gap between the first player drafted and the second player drafted on that team?
5:57It's about 90 picks between Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
6:00One very obvious one. And the NFC? Oh, in the NFC.
6:04It's all things, right? Is that where you were going?
6:07Yeah. And the NFC, I think it might be the Vikings.
6:10Moving to the NFC South in just a moment.
6:13We'll be right back on fantasy football today. Express the NFC South Falcons, Panthers, Saints and Buccaneers.
6:19What's the biggest offseason storyline here? Um, Falcons new coach and hopefully get still great production and new quarterback, uh, into a
6:25talk about hopefully get great production out of their guys because you're talking about three players, two in particular and B.
6:32John Robinson and Drake London that are going to be drafted in the first two rounds and Kyle Pitts coming off the best year of his career.
6:41Can he be a top five tight end? He's going to get drafted as a top 10 guy.
6:46So a lot of expectations for Kevin Stefanski into a tongue of a low to keep these guys extremely relevant as fantasy options.
6:53The rest of the division Carolina, we're looking to see about the backfield there.
6:58I think Terrell McMillan, whether you love him, like him or avoid him, he's still going to be probably drafted in around
7:05four as a mid tier number two wide receiver.
7:08But really it's the backfield and we're going to keep an eye on Jonathan Brooks.
7:12They let Rico Dowdle go. They did not bring in anybody of sniffing it for competition.
7:17So Chuba Hubbard, Jonathan Brooks, if Brooks is healthy, he's going to fly up draft boards.
7:22Uh, but Chuba Hubbard, I still think is the one you want to target first.
7:27In the case of the Saints, two rookies were added that are going to be important here.
7:32One Jordan Tyson, we know could be a huge factor and may steal a lot of opportunities from Chris Olave.
7:39But let's not forget about Oscar Delp. He can impact Jawan Johnson, who was a very good fantasy tight end last year.
7:46But Tyson Olave, the addition of Travis E. Tyler Shuck was great last season at the end of the year and could
7:52be a good late round quarterback if you miss on the position.
7:56And then in the case of Tampa Bay, I think a lot of it comes down to health.
8:02If Baker Mayfield's healthy, you're not going to get the 2024 production, but should be better than 2025.
8:07A Mecca Buka now becomes number one receiver. Chris Godwin still in the mix to be the number one receiver.
8:14A lot of questions about the health of the offensive line.
8:17If everybody's working well together, you're going to have a breakout star in a Mecca Buka.
8:22And I think a very good value pick in Chris Godwin at quarterback at receiver.
8:27Excuse me. And then we'll see what happens with the backfield there after adding adding Kenneth Gainwell, who could be really good
8:34as a pass catcher for Zach Robinson. And finally, the NFC West where the Cardinals have already been eliminated from the playoffs.
8:41Look at these teams, the Rams, the Niners, the Seahawks.
8:44It's just brutal. You feel bad for Arizona in rebuild mode.
8:47But they obviously are a huge offseason story with the addition of Jeremiah Love and to a lesser extent, Carson Beck.
8:54The Rams are they didn't really add much offensively, but man, their defense is nasty.
8:59Forty Niners getting Mike Evans and the Seahawks losing their offensive coordinator could be a big deal.
9:04But what stands out to you in the West?
9:07Well, you mentioned Jeremiah Love. They also added Tyler Algier and, you know, healthy Marvin Harrison, new head coach in Mike LaFleur.
9:14A lot of this is going to potentially change the way the Cardinals look.
9:18Now you're still drafting Shane McBride as a top two tight end.
9:22I like Bowers better than McBride because of all the target competition is going to get that he didn't necessarily have last
9:29year because Harrison missed the second half of the season.
9:32The most of the second half of the season and the run game will be better.
9:37We'll see how many games Jacoby Brissett starts. That's a big part of this, too, because their offense really didn't take off until Brissett became the starter there.
9:46So we'll see if Beck does get those opportunities.
9:49Seattle, the big story is the backfield. They add Darian Price in the first round.
9:53Zach Charbonnet coming off the ACL tear that he suffered in the divisional round.
9:58We know Kenneth Walker is now gone. So that backfield is going to be interesting to watch.
10:03They also had Emmanuel Wilson who could be a factor.
10:06George Alani is going to be a factor. We would love to see Darian Price first round rookie get that opportunity to
10:13be the starter from week one, but I don't want to overvalue him just because he was selected in the first round.
10:20But a lot of vacated touch over 500 or 400 total touches gone.
10:24If Charbonnet does not play with Walker and Charbonnet injured San Francisco, it's not just Mike Evans.
10:29It's the Sean Stribbling. It's Christian Kirk. It's George Kittle coming off an Achilles injury.
10:34It's Christian McCaffrey, 30 years old, coming off 450 total touches.
10:38There's a lot of things to keep an eye on with San Francisco.
10:42That's going to be a fun one to watch.
10:44And we know the potential of Kyle Shanahan's offense.
10:47Purdy was a top five quarterback last year in points per game, but he missed a lot of time with toe and ankle injuries.
10:55I believe it was definitely toe. And then we'll see if you know Kittle's healthy coming off the Achilles tear.
11:01And you said at the Rams, it's just kind of offense.
11:05Does it get hurt by how good the defense is because they add Miles Garrett.
11:09They had Trent McDuffie. Do they have to score as much to sort of overcome any defensive, defensive deficiencies that they had last year, which there weren't many.
11:18But, you know, now you added two elite players at their positions.
11:22One of the best ever in Miles Garrett. And it could just be and maybe Aaron Donald's coming.
11:27Exactly. It could just be an absolute beast of a team.
11:31A lot of people penciling in the Rams to be the Super Bowl representative of the NFC in their own stadium.
11:37Thank you, Jamie. Excellent stuff on the NFC. We will talk to you next time on Fantasy Football Today Express.
11:44See ya. On podcasts.
