Amon-Ra St. Brown

NegativeValue13:28

Amon-Ra St. Brown was selected at pick eight in a 14-team PPR league, with the manager opting for him over Christian McCaffrey to allow for a top-12 running back in the second round. In retrospect, the manager expressed a preference for the McCaffrey/A.J. Brown build.

Insight page

Brandon Aiyuk

PositiveProjection50:39

Brandon Aiyuk was the WR16 per game in 2023, averaging 15.7 points per game, demonstrating high-end efficiency in the 49ers' offense.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveInjury26:31

Breece Hall is expected to be ready for Week 1.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeValue64:53

Year Up United's questions the value of drafting Brock Bowers in the second round of a 14-team, three-receiver league, suggesting other wide receivers would have been better picks.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveDepth Chart33:31

Speculation that the Buccaneers might keep Josh Williams over Sean Tucker could be a positive development for Bucky Irving's role in the backfield.

Insight page
PositiveRole34:09

The roster moves involving Williams potentially allow Bucky Irving to serve as the primary goal-line option for the Buccaneers.

Insight page

Cam Ward

NegativeProjection51:56

Cam Ward has looked inaccurate downfield in preseason action, which raises concerns for the Giants' passing game and associated pass catchers.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeProjection52:18

Due to poor quarterback play from Cam Ward, Year Up United's has downgraded Carnell Tate, moving him behind players like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brian Thomas Jr.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveValue33:18

CeeDee Lamb was selected at pick five in a 14-team draft, serving as the anchor for a receiver-running back start strategy alongside Kenneth Walker.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveProjection35:03

Chris Godwin looks like the best version of himself, benefiting from being back in a system that plays to his specific strengths.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection25:06

Chris Olave is preferred over Malik Nabers in recent rankings.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveValue13:33

Christian McCaffrey is highly valued, with Year Up United's noting a preference for pairing him with A.J. Brown in the first two rounds of a 14-team PPR draft. He is considered a priority target for those looking to secure an elite RB1.

Insight page
NegativeInjury32:06

The 49ers' handling of Christian McCaffrey's injury status is frustrating, as conflicting reports about 'tightness' versus 'planned rest' create uncertainty for fantasy managers.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeRole29:16

Dave Canales indicated that if Chuba Hubbard is available for Week 1, Carolina will utilize a running back by committee approach, splitting duties between a first/second-down back and a third-down back.

Insight page
PositiveValue30:13

Chuba Hubbard may have been drafted too low, given that Jonathan Brooks has limited NFL experience and a history of two torn ACLs in the same knee.

Insight page
PositiveValue30:13

Chuba Hubbard is currently undervalued in drafts relative to Jonathan Brooks, especially given the injury concerns surrounding Brooks; Hubbard represents better value at his round 9 ADP compared to Brooks in round 6.

Insight page

Davante Adams

PositiveValue56:55

Year Up United's prefers Davante Adams over other wide receivers in his ADP tier, including Jameson Williams, Terry McLaurin, and Mike Evans.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

NegativeUsage50:47

Deebo Samuel averaged 12.7 PPR points per game on receiving totals alone in 2023, with additional value coming from his rushing usage.

Insight page

Demario Douglas

NegativeRole28:10

Demario Douglas is confirmed as the slot wide receiver for the Patriots in three-wide receiver sets, though he likely won't be a major fantasy factor.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

NegativeProjection25:00

DeVonta Smith is ranked slightly ahead of Malik Nabers in recent updates.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveInjury25:18

DK Metcalf has returned to practice.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeValue36:12

Drake London's ranking and ADP are consistent around 16-18; while his quarterback situation is concerning, he has shown productivity with Michael Penix.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveValue59:59

Isaiah Likely is viewed as a good value pick around pick 120 in a 14-team draft.

Insight page

Jalen McMillan

PositiveBreakout35:18

Jalen McMillan is considered an underrated separator in one-on-one man coverage, with expectations for a significant year-one to year-two jump.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeValue12:36

James Cook is being drafted as a top-12 running back, with some managers taking him as early as the fourth overall pick in 14-team PPR formats, signaling a shift in how managers are valuing the RB position in the first round.

Insight page

Jauan Jennings

PositiveUsage50:16

Jauan Jennings was the WR27 per game in 2024, averaging 7.5 targets per game, proving that 49ers receivers can produce despite target competition.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

PositiveValue47:46

Year Up United's expresses amazement at the value of Jayden Daniels in the draft, noting he was a highly desired target.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeProjection10:01

Jeremiah Love is facing an uphill battle this season due to a high ankle sprain, a bad team situation, a tough schedule, and increased competition. He is viewed as a player who could be a solid RB2 or low-end RB1 if things break right, but he carries significant risk.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

PositiveRole29:30

Jonathan Brooks has been utilized as the first and second-down back during preseason work, which provides him with fantasy upside in the Carolina committee.

Insight page
PositiveRole30:08

Jonathan Brooks is viewed as the primary first and second down back for the Panthers, though his limited NFL experience and history of two ACL tears in the same knee warrant caution.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveValue25:07

Jordan Mason is a target for managers looking for starting running back depth in the later rounds. He was taken at pick 80, ahead of his Fantasy Pros ADP, because starting running backs with defined roles dry up quickly after round seven.

Insight page
PositiveValue47:11

Jordan Mason is identified as a mid-round target that Year Up United's personally drafted.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

PositiveValue27:32

Jordan Tyson is preferred over Kayshon Boutte for fantasy purposes.

Insight page

Josh Williams

NegativeDepth Chart33:31

Reports suggest the Buccaneers may prioritize keeping Josh Williams over Sean Tucker, potentially due to his lower cost and special teams utility.

Insight page

Justice Hill

PositiveSleeper62:02

Justice Hill is identified as a waiver-wire target who can provide 8-10 points per week throughout the season.

Insight page

Kayshon Boutte

NegativeRole26:58

Following his trade to Houston, Kayshon Boutte is more on the fantasy radar but likely won't matter unless Nico Collins misses time. He is primarily a deep threat with a high aDOT and does not command a high target volume.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

NegativeInjury31:26

Keaton Mitchell is dealing with a 'mild setback' according to Mike McDaniel, though no official injury tag has been applied yet; his status should be monitored if he misses further practice.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

PositiveRole25:07

Kendre Miller expects a bigger role in the Saints offense while Alvin Kamara is injured.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeBust47:58

Kenneth Gainwell was an accidental auto-pick in the draft, which the drafter explicitly stated they did not want.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveValue33:21

Kenneth Walker was selected in the second round of a 14-team draft, paired with CeeDee Lamb to balance a receiver-running back start.

Insight page
PositiveProjection46:41

If Kenneth Walker stays healthy for 17 games, he is projected to finish as a top-six running back in total fantasy points.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveInjury26:33

Kenyon Sadiq could potentially play in Week 1.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveValue59:21

Year Up United's considers getting Lamar Jackson in the fifth round of a 14-team league to be a great value, despite later regretting not waiting for Jayden Daniels.

Insight page

Makai Lemon

PositiveInjury28:28

Makai Lemon is expected to be ready for Week 1, which is encouraging for his fantasy outlook.

Insight page
PositiveProjection29:05

In redraft rookie receiver rankings, Makai Lemon is ranked fourth behind Cardinal Tate, Stribbling, and Concepcion.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveInjury24:49

Malik Nabers is trending toward a Week 1 return and looked good in social media videos.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

PositiveInjury25:18

Michael Pittman has returned to practice.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeValue34:24

Dynasty managers should hold onto Quinchon Judkins for now to see how the situation with Trey Benson develops.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveRole25:47

Rhamondre Stevenson is expected to be the every-down back and handle passing-down work, making him a better draft target than TreVeyon Henderson.

Insight page
PositiveValue31:00

Rhamondre Stevenson is considered a safer draft pick than Jonathan Brooks due to the current uncertainty surrounding the Panthers' backfield situation.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveValue59:44

Sam LaPorta is considered a great value pick when drafted later in drafts.

Insight page

Sean Tucker

NegativeDepth Chart33:31

Sean Tucker is at risk of being cut by the Buccaneers in favor of Josh Williams.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeUsage54:19

Tony Pollard is viewed as a mid-round running back option, though his draft stock has cooled since the start of training camp.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeInjury25:33

TreVeyon Henderson left practice after slipping on the grass, with concerns regarding his foot or ankle.

Insight page

Tua Tagovailoa

NegativeProjection37:21

Despite skepticism following a poor preseason performance, there is a track record of Tua Tagovailoa playing better football than Bryce Young.

Insight page

Ty Chandler

NegativeInjury25:12

Ty Chandler is dealing with a knee injury that could potentially be long-term.

Insight page

Zach Charbonnet

NegativeValue30:08

Zach Charbonnet is a late-round target for managers looking to stash players in IR spots. Year Up United's suggests drafting him only if he is the best player available in that range, rather than drafting solely for the IR stash potential.

1:46What a play! It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
1:49Off to the races, and he stays on his feet!
1:53Here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
1:56What's up, everybody? Welcome to Fantasy Football Today. We're going to take a look at some FFT Open results because this thing is in full swing.
2:05And by the way, we have sold out every spot.
2:08Unbelievable. $99,000 raised for St. Jude through the FFT.
2:11The Open. We're going to take a look at our 14-team PPR podcast league at the end of the show and tell
2:19you why you shouldn't panic at the running back position and throw off your entire draft strategy.
2:25But a lot of people went very running back heavy in that draft.
2:30Two teams took running backs with each of their first three picks.
2:34We've got some fill-in-the-blank for you and some news and notes that you need to know.
2:39And welcome to the Tuesday edition with Jamie Eisenberg, Heath Cummings.
2:43I am Adam Azer. Heath, where are you in the FFT Open?
2:47Oh, we are early in round two. My league heard you talking yesterday about taking as long as you can to get the Ashton Gentry news.
2:56And so everyone is doing it. We're on pick 16, and I anticipate that Ashton Gentry will be the next pick.
3:04Well, I looked at eight leagues that had drafted Gentry, including mine, and he hasn't gone as early as 17th yet.
3:11He has gone 18th, 19th, 20th, or 21st in seven of those eight leagues.
3:16So he has been clearly a mid-round pick. I think in my league, yeah, I think he went 18th.
3:23Jamie, where are you in the FFT Open? We are in round four.
3:27Okay. Well, let me show you where I am in the FFT Open.
3:32I am in round 11. Nice. We are kicking everyone's butt.
3:36And I'm on the clock, by the way. But just going to give you some takeaways from this two running back, two receiver, one flex draft.
3:45Oh, your team is great. I'm very happy with my team.
3:48I almost – it's like I'm jinxing it, but it gets incredible basically right now.
3:54But I always like my FFT Open team, and it never does that well.
3:59But anyway, let me tell you a few things about the FFT Open just for the 300 – whatever it is.
4:0636 times 11 would be what? 396 people? Well, but there's – no, you can add the 12 because those people are in the league.
4:15Yeah. Well, I'm not doing 36 times. How many is it now?
4:19432? For sure. 432 people in the league. You can draft overnight.
4:23The timer kind of goes off overnight. You can keep drafting, so you don't have to stop.
4:29I know a lot of people were stopping. I'm sticking.
4:32I was right. Yeah, nice work. I know a lot of people stopped drafting.
4:37You can keep drafting. There are no trades in the FFT Open.
4:41You should know that. We can't have any collusion.
4:45We can't have people arguing about trades. So there are no trades in the FFT Open.
4:50And then here's one thing I wanted to talk about as we did this draft.
4:55Guys, we talked so much about those top 12 running backs and maybe basing your round one pick on whether or not
5:03you can get one of those top 12 running backs.
5:07And I think Ashton Gentry is probably still in that.
5:10Maybe he's 12th for a lot of people. Ian Rappaport said they think he might be able to play week one, but he might miss a week.
5:19I thought the most important thing from what I heard was he said they think it's more low than high.
5:26Yeah, but he did say that they are still hopeful that he can play week one.
5:32Right. But yes, it doesn't seem like – It's the most mysterious ankle injury of all time.
5:38Yeah. And we should treat him like he's got a – not that he's just necessarily going to be totally fine.
5:45And maybe he will. But how are you treating this situation?
5:49I think I have a little bit of trepidation about what he's – about him not being 100%, at least early in the year.
5:57I think that's how you have to approach it.
6:01So I kind of just put it in the same context with Jeremiah Love because Jeremiah Love was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain.
6:09So this was a guy that was being drafted basically early round three, and I dropped him around.
6:15And Gentry – I was very excited about Gentry.
6:18I had him in round one. I dropped him to the 2-3 turn.
6:23So I think you just kind of give a discounted price to a player that does not sound like it's going to
6:31be a long-term injury, that hopefully will be ready early in the season, that hopefully will be a peak performance early in the season.
6:39And then you just sort of build around what the problems or the concerns could be.
6:45For Love, it's a bad team, a tough schedule, and competition.
6:48For Gentry, it's a bad team, maybe now competition, or more competition than we thought, and a bad schedule.
6:55So it's potentially elite players. Those guys could be awesome.
6:58We love them. I know Heath has certainly talked about them enough in their dynasty profiles and what they could be when things get right.
7:07For this year, it's just an uphill battle. We saw it for Gentry last year.
7:12It's probably the same thing for Love this year.
7:16You know, if things break right without their bodies breaking, then they're still good number two running backs or high-end number one
7:23running back, I think, or low-end number one running back, excuse me, in the case of Gentry.
7:29Okay, so I just want to go back to making that point now about thinking about, oh, this top 12.
7:36This happens all the time, I think, when I talk to fantasy managers.
7:41Can I get one of those top 12 running backs in round two?
7:45If not, I'm going to take one of them in round one.
7:49Like, you're looking at this draft right now where the team with the fourth pick took James Cook.
7:56So it went Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, Jamar Chase, James Cook, and then Pukinokua, JSN.
8:01Anyway, you know, I look at my team, and Jamie, we did this pick on the air on FFT Express.
8:08I was deciding between St. Brown and Christian McCaffrey, and we decided let's go with Amon-Ra St.
8:13Brown because I probably get that top 12 running back in round two, and I did with Derrick Henry.
8:20But you know what? I think, in retrospect, I would have rather gone McCaffrey, A.J.
8:25Brown. So, you know, I don't know how you guys want to...
8:30Yeah, go ahead. No, it's interesting that you took Amon's at Ross St.
8:34Brown over Christian McCaffrey at pick eight in this draft and drafted Christian McCaffrey at pick five in last night's draft.
8:41They're both two running back, two wide receiver, full PPR leagues.
8:45One's 14-team league, the other's 12. And in a 14-team league, I do prioritize running back a little bit more.
8:52And also, I want to have a little fun with it.
8:56I don't want to have the same guy in that league, you know, in the two leagues in St.
9:03Brown. But yes, it's a good point. But think about it.
9:06I had the fifth pick in a 14-team league, and I knew I had no chance to get in a top 12
9:14running back in the second round unless maybe Gentry fell there.
9:18He did. In this league, I had the eighth pick, and I knew I was going to get a top 12 running back in the second round.
9:27So that kind of, you know, you go ahead.
9:31No, I thought this section was you don't have to worry so much about being able to get a running back.
9:38And it sounds like your decision in round one was based almost entirely on whether you could get a running back in round two.
9:46Which league are you talking about? Both. Okay. Okay.
9:49Forget about the 14-team league. That's not exactly why I did it.
9:54I just wanted McCaffrey. Here it is, but I kind of wish I had gone McCaffrey, A.J.
9:59Brown. And, you know, I think every manager, you have to ask yourself, if Justin Jefferson or Drake London or A.J.
10:07Brown or C.D. Lamb is in the second round, and you're choosing between them and one of those top 12 running backs, have rankings.
10:15Figure out who you like better because it could free you up to take a running back in round one if you
10:23want to instead of a wide receiver. And am I making any sense here?
10:28Not really. Well, I mean, this is the decision that managers have to make because you kind of have seen, like, this
10:35draft's a little bit different because of where James Cook went and probably Chase Brown over St.
10:41Brown. We kind of have a pretty good idea of the two running backs, first and second.
10:47Then, for the most part, four receivers populate, I'll say the next six picks, but for the most part, it's the next four picks.
10:56And then there's typically Taylor and McCaffrey. In this case, it was Cook and Chase Brown.
11:01So if you know what you're looking at in round one, it's easy to have an idea of the position you're looking at in round two.
11:10Not necessarily the player you're looking at in round two, but the position you're looking at in round two.
11:17So you did that purposely in the 14-team league, which makes sense because you had an idea that if you take McCaffrey
11:25here, you're still going to get maybe it's Olave.
11:28I don't know who you took, but Olave or Nico or Drake London, one of those guys.
11:34I took Bowers. Okay, so Bowers. There you go.
11:37So that factors in as well. In this case, you knew that if you took McCaffrey, you're getting A.J.
11:43Brown, Drake London, maybe Jefferson in round two. In the case of taking St.
11:48Brown, you kind of had an idea of which running backs would be available to you.
11:54So it's easy to sort of build that out in looking at how most drafts have gone.
12:00So like in this case, for example, I don't know who picked fourth, but did they do that on purpose as well?
12:07Because taking James Cook, let's just say that's Jonathan Taylor or McCaffrey, knowing that they could pair that running back with a receiver in round two.
12:17And Taylor did go fourth in my FFT Open.
12:20Yeah, so my question is... I'm sorry, Heath, why I kind of hesitate a little bit with the two running backs and then four receivers.
12:28Average draft position has changed. We've seen Taylor and McCaffrey leap over, I believe, both Jackson Smith and the Jigba and Amon Ross St.
12:37Brown. Because probably this reasoning is that not wanting to take a receiver and go receiver-receiver.
12:42You know, I've talked about this, that we're okay going receiver-receiver-receiver or receiver-receiver-tight end or receiver-tight end-receiver, whatever combination.
12:49But you've got to be comfortable with that. Do you like the three teams that went receiver-receiver?
12:55Team three, if you want to go receiver-receiver, this is how your team could look after four rounds.
13:01Jamar Chase, Chris Olave, Javante Williams, Quinchan Judkins. Like it a lot.
13:05Yeah. How about James... He's not a receiver. Puka Nakua, Nico Collins, Josh Jacobs, DeAndre Swift.
13:11Like it even more. Yeah, like it even more, exactly.
13:14Um, JSN, AJ Brown, Trey McBride, Brees Hall. Great.
13:18Yeah. Yeah. And then you've got Lamar Jackson, Tony Pollard with the next two picks.
13:23I mean, it's pretty good. But it's also like if you're watching on YouTube and you're seeing the strategy here, receiver-receiver, tight
13:30end, running back, quarterback, running back, running back, receiver, running back, running back.
13:35Like just, you know, you've got to understand that you're probably going to have to throw a lot of capital at one of those.
13:43Whatever you do, you know, it could be running back, running back, and then go receiver-receiver.
13:49You know, just throw a lot of capital at those positions.
13:53And that's probably a little bit extreme. Um, but, you know, you're still in a two-receiver league.
13:59Okay, I'm locked in with two top ten-ish guys, two top five-ish guys potentially, and Smith and the Jigba and AJ Brown.
14:06And then I'm good to go. You know, so I still want to get more receivers a little bit later and probably sooner than this manager did.
14:16But now it's Hall, it's Pollard, it's Warren, it's, you know, Mononga.
14:20It's just, okay, I'm going to cover myself at running back.
14:24And we had two teams last night that started.
14:27Adam, you already mentioned that two of the teams started with three running back straight.
14:32Two of the teams, and one of them was Jamie.
14:36Two of the teams started with three wide receivers to start the draft.
14:40One of them was me. And that team that I drafted with three wide receivers to start, my bench, except for one player, is all running backs.
14:50This is a 14-team league that Heath's talking about, our podcast league draft, which we'll get to.
14:56Yeah, so different strategies. We'll see how they work out.
14:59Another point I wanted to make about every league, but what we saw here, I took Jordan Mason with the 80th pick,
15:07which is way ahead of his ADP on Fantasy Pros, but not that far ahead of Mason's ADP on CBS.
15:14Right now he's 89th. But I think you should get used to seeing something like that.
15:19I mean, we were originally talking about Jordan Mason as like a round 10 pick or something like that, but the running
15:27backs who have a chance to be their starter really start to dry up pretty quickly once you get to round seven or so.
15:35And in round seven, we have Travion Henderson who left practice yesterday.
15:40He went after Ramondre Stevenson in this draft. Then we had Rico Dowdle and Jalen Warren back-to-back.
15:45And then I'm going, I don't know if there's, I mean, I feel like Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt will probably be there on my
15:53next pick, but let's just lock up a potential starting running back and take Jordan Mason.
15:59So then we have Dobbins, Mike Washington, Gainwell, Corum, Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt, who's dealing with a groin injury right now.
16:05You're going to get to a point where the starting running backs are the guys who have like a good defined role.
16:13They might be running out in the seventh round.
16:16And if you have to take one, then you take one, even if it's ahead of ADP.
16:22Um, this is a somewhat shallower format, I would say, because we only have two running backs, two receivers and one flex.
16:30I know a lot of you play in a league like that.
16:34Guys, do you think it's important to have something close to an elite quarterback and or an elite tight end in this
16:42two running back, two receiver, one flex format, Heath?
16:45More important than it is in a deeper league, yes.
16:48With more wide receiver. The fewer wide receivers you start, the more important it is to be elite at quarterback or tight end, for sure.
16:57Yeah, or any, or compared to like a two flex league or anything, yeah.
17:02So try, I mean, I got Joe Burrow in round six.
17:06I was pretty happy with that. The quarterbacks went pretty late.
17:10Josh Allen went 36th overall. Lamar Jackson went in round five.
17:13I would have taken him in round five. He went two picks ahead of me.
17:19So I took Joe Burrow in round six. You didn't just ask the person if they wanted to change their picks so
17:26that you could take them after that? That's unbelievable.
17:29What? No, it wasn't unbelievable. Are you sure about that pick?
17:33Just trying to make them feel bad that they took Jaden Daniels in round eight of a 14 team league?
17:40They didn't take Jaden Daniels in round eight. I selected Jaden Daniels accidentally for a team because I thought I was on the clock.
17:49We'll get into that a little bit later. And then two guys I like taking.
17:54Your commissioning in that league is impressive. Two guys I like taking late.
17:58Get your thoughts. You cutting this draft off at 10 rounds just to make it easy for you?
18:05Jordan Tyson and Zach Charbonnet. Because I think there's a chance both of them go right into an IR spot.
18:12And then you've got two free roster spots when free agency opens.
18:16Take whoever you want. You don't have to drop anyone.
18:19What do you think, Jamie? Yeah, it's not a bad move.
18:23But I wouldn't be reaching for those guys just because I want to put them on an IR spot.
18:30I think if you're doing it in the appropriate range, which it looks like you did here with Charbonnet, I don't know where Jordan Tyson went.
18:39Well, I'm on the clock at 128 overall and I'm thinking about taking Jordan Tyson.
18:44Yeah, I mean, if that's the best player on your board, then sure.
18:49But I'm not doing it just because, hey, I can stash them in an IR spot and hopefully they're going to be
18:56relevant for me at some point this season. That's not the reason to be drafting.
19:01No, that's not. The latter more so than the former.
19:05I just think the best wide receivers in your rankings are Jacoby Myers, Debo Samuel, Keyshawn Booty, Jordan Tyson.
19:12Maybe I'll take Xavier Worthy. I don't have any of Xavier Worthy.
19:16No, let's take Jordan Tyson. Okay. Anyway, that's it for my FFT Open Thoughts.
19:21I don't know if you guys had anything you want to talk about from your drafts that might be relevant.
19:28Or we can move on. No, I mean, we should.
19:31Or you should. If anybody plays in multiple leagues, it sounds like you're doing that.
19:36I know he mentioned that with Parker Washington yesterday.
19:39You want to diversify a little bit with some of the things that you do.
19:45So I've done a lot of running back, running back starts at the back end of the first round.
19:51I made it a priority in this draft to take receiver, running back with my first two picks.
19:58So I took CeeDee Lamb at five, the 12th pick.
20:01So I took CeeDee Lamb and Kenneth Walker to start.
20:05Cool. Heath, anything for you? No, we haven't drafted enough players for there to be anything interesting to say.
20:11All right. Well, then let me tell you something that is interesting.
20:15Wednesday night, 5 to 8 p.m. Eastern, the draft-a-thon.
20:19The show. Oh, you've helped us raise so much money up to this point.
20:23And we're not that far from our goal of $200,000.
20:27Let's check in on the meter here. We're at $179.
20:30$169 right now. That's not accurate. Okay. That is what the auction has raised.
20:35And then there's another, we raised almost $10,000 in Memphis last week.
20:39And I think there's some other little things that have trickled in.
20:44Cool. All right. So we're at almost $180,000. Trying to get to $200,000.
20:48If you'd like to make a donation, tinyurl.com slash FFTdonate2026.
20:52And join us tomorrow night at youtube.com slash FantasyFootball today for our draft-a-thon show, which wraps up the fundraiser, basically.
20:59And we'll have a lot of fun with that.
21:02And then listen, this is really cool. We got a new feature on the website.
21:07Our Must Draft Players page on cbssports.com slash FFT Must Draft.
21:11Oh, I can't be first, right? That'd be bad.
21:14I shouldn't be first on this list. You are first.
21:17No. Is Mike Evans on there? Mike Evans is on there.
21:21Yep. I wish he was first. I wonder if this is just done by ADP.
21:27But here's our Must Draft Players list. cbssports.com slash FFT Must Draft.
21:31It's all of us from the FFT crew highlighting players that we're most excited to target throughout the draft from early round
21:38studs to those late round values that you need to know about.
21:43cbssports.com slash FFT Must Draft. Heath would like to make a public apology to Dan.
21:48We'll do that when we come back. Please don't.
21:51Well, I said let's not, you know. He said he's going to like, he's going to be more upset about the apology than the original insult.
22:00I said, okay, let's do it. So that's coming up after the break on Fantasy Football today.
22:06My companion for this summer season has been Z Biotics.
22:09Let me tell you why. Just headed out to a concert at Pier 17.
22:14Howl Mouth, what a show. I got home at 3 a.m.
22:18and I realized 8 a.m. tea time. What am I going to do?
22:23I got a big match. No worries at all.
22:26I took Z Biotics the night before. Had a few drinks.
22:30Woke up the next day like nothing happened. Got to that course at 7 a.m.
22:35Warmed up and won my match. Z Biotics pre-alcohol probiotic drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic.
22:41It was invented by PhD scientists to break down acetaldehyde, a byproduct of drinking alcohol.
22:46Pre-alcohol produces an enzyme that is designed to break down this byproduct.
22:51Make pre-alcohol your first drink of the night, drink responsibly, and enjoy your next day activities.
22:56Z Biotics has sold more than 14 million bottles and earned the trust of thousands, including us.
23:02Try for yourself today, and if you are unsatisfied, they will refund your entire order.
23:07No questions asked. Head to zbiotics.com backslash FFT. Code FFT for 15% off your first order.
23:13Okay, Heath, what would you like to say to Dan?
23:16So I try to, you know, be a man of integrity and not say things that aren't true.
23:23And so I accused Dan, said it was a mark on his character, that he had claimed victory.
23:29And Dan has informed me that he did no such thing.
23:33It turns out that he actually agrees with me that he didn't win the tennis match, that the final result of the
23:40tennis match was a no decision, that it was postponed by rain, and Dan was not victorious this year in the tennis match.
23:48He is now 2-0-1 in career tennis matches. This year was a draw.
23:53Okay, great. I'm sure he totally signs off on everything you just said.
23:58I love it. Okay, news and notes for you here.
24:01And next year's challenge is you versus Dan in basketball.
24:05Tennis is done. Heath versus Dan. I made Dan a little bit mad already over that because someone suggested that, and I
24:12didn't think it would be any fun because I said Dan wouldn't score.
24:17Well, the fact that he was like, oh yeah, we'll play golf.
24:21It's going to be so even because Heath's a great golfer.
24:25Like, come on, man. I've played twice in the last 11 years.
24:29Right. I may not have said the time of the draft-a-thon show.
24:33I'm sorry. It's Wednesday night, 5 to 8 p.m.
24:36Eastern. Wednesday night. Not tonight. I don't know if I screwed that up.
24:41Wednesday night, 5 to 8 p.m. Eastern. And no live stream tonight for the people that have been watching us the last two Tuesdays.
24:49Malik Neighbors is trending toward a week one return.
24:52He looked pretty good from the videos that were on social media.
24:56So, that's cool. Malik Neighbors or Devante Smith? Neighbors.
25:00Ah, they are very, very close. I've done some rankings updates recently.
25:04I have Devante Smith. Malik Neighbors or Chris Olave?
25:07Olave. Okay. Saints running back Kendry Miller expects a bigger role with Alvin Kamara injured.
25:12Also, running back Ty Chandler for the Saints has a knee injury that could be long-term.
25:18Michael Pittman and DK Metcalf. I don't have my mixer, so Michael, do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do.
25:22Pittman and DK Metcalf return to practice. Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr.
25:26may not be available for the start of the season.
25:30He wants a new contract. He's on the pup list.
25:33Travion Henderson left after slipping on the grass yesterday.
25:37Jamie, any reaction or just kind of wait and see here?
25:40Wait and see. It sounds like they were looking at his ankle and hopefully his foot or ankle.
25:47Hopefully he's okay. It's just more pushing or should be pushing you more in the direction of Ramondre Stevenson.
25:53I can't imagine drafting Travion Henderson over Stevenson unless you just love your build and you're hoping for a huge lottery ticket, which he would be.
26:02But Stevenson seemingly going to work on passing downs, going to be the every down back.
26:08It's just not great for Henderson right now. Yeah.
26:11There was a report a few days ago that Ramondre is ahead of Henderson.
26:16Henderson's going to be a change of pace back and I just showed you that my FFT Open League Ramondre did go.
26:24I think it was something like eight picks ahead of Travion.
26:28And I think that was before the Travion injury.
26:31Let's see. Brees Hall expected to be ready for week one and Kenyon Sadiq also could play week one.
26:37Heath had a fun, funny tweet about all the running back injuries right now.
26:42I think most of them are pretty minor, but there are a lot of them.
26:47Alan Robinson retired. He was fantastic in his prime.
26:51Houston sent this was OK, let's talk about this trade here with Houston sending safety Jalen Reed and a 2028 seventh round
26:58pick to the Patriots for Kayshawn Booty. Heath, what's your reaction to Kayshawn Booty going to Houston?
27:04I mean, I think it was a really good move by the Texans and it's going to it's good for CJ Stroud.
27:12I don't I don't really think that Kayshawn Booty is probably going to matter in most fantasy football leagues unless Nico Collins
27:19gets hurt, which Nico Collins has missed games almost every year.
27:23So he's a he's a wide receiver you could take in the double digit rounds.
27:29I think you said that Jamie has Booty just ahead of Jordan Tyson.
27:33I would rather draft Jordan Tyson, but he's he's more on the radar now than he was on the Patriots.
27:40And he's been a very high a dot guy.
27:43He is a deep threat mostly almost exclusively a deep threat.
27:47He's one of those players and I think that's good because those guys don't really command a lot of targets so that
27:55if you have Nico Collins, I don't think you have to worry about him about Booty getting a ton of targets whereas
28:02Higgins maybe had a chance to do that. And it kind of affirms the thing that like we've been hearing all camp
28:10and I think people haven't adjusted to but Demario Douglas is the slot wide receiver.
28:15Like he's the guy when they play three wide receiver sets he's on the field with AJ Brown and Romeo Dobbs.
28:23He probably won't matter either. Yeah. Makai Lemon thinks he'll be ready for the boost for Dobbs though.
28:29Yeah. Yeah. All right. Makai Lemon or Romeo Dobbs, Jamie?
28:32Who? I'm sorry. Makai Lemon he thinks he'll be ready for week one.
28:37I take the upside of Lemon and I need to adjust because I just threw basically Keishon Booty in a spot last night.
28:45That sounds funny. After the trade so he shouldn't go ahead of Jordan Tyson.
28:50I need to move Dobbs up as well. I think just looking at Lemon's status the fact that he's back and hopefully
28:57ready for week one is very encouraging. So if you're ranking the rookie receivers for redraft I would still put Cardinal Tate first.
29:05I have Stribbling second. Concepcion third and Lemon should be fourth.
29:09Who was the first one? Stribbling you said? Tate.
29:12Oh Tate. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. My bad. Let's see.
29:16Dave Canales says that if Chuba Hubbard is available for week one Carolina will have a running back by committee.
29:23That's not a surprise. We're hoping that one of them we're thinking Jonathan Brooks can emerge a little bit there.
29:30Darren Waller practiced with the Panthers for the first time.
29:33The comment. No. So basically what he said is they're going to have a first and second down guy and a third
29:41down guy and if you're looking at the preseason work so far Jonathan Brooks has basically been the first and second down guy.
29:49Now Hubbard has not played but why would you not work him in as the third down guy if you're not going to use him in that role?
29:58Yeah. If that's how it's going to be that first and second down guy and a third down guy I think it's pretty good for Brooks right?
30:08Or whoever the first and second down guy. Based on this team I would say so.
30:13You know it's I think we probably have let Hubbard fall a little too far just knowing that Brooks has played three
30:21NFL games and has two torn ACLs in the same knee.
30:25So you know don't completely run away from Chuba Hubbard but it's it's still I think a significant positive for Brooks that
30:33when this injury occurred for Hubbard and how he's at least performed mostly in practice more so than in the preseason games.
30:40So he went 105th in my FFT Open League and he went Yeah Chuba Hubbard Jonathan Brooks went 62nd so yeah I mean what's what's better value there?
30:50Round 6 for Brooks or round 9 for Hubbard?
30:53I would say Hubbard. Today it's Brooks in a week it could be Hubbard if it's the same separation.
31:00Okay. Would you take Ramondre Stevenson or Jonathan Brooks?
31:03I need to adjust that I had Brooks higher but I think given how everything is unfolding for Stevenson he's probably safer.
31:11Stevenson Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt was limited he's got a groin injury Rashad White is working his way back they're not they're apparently
31:18the groin injury is not too bad for Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt but we'll keep an eye on it Mike McDaniel was talking
31:26about the injury to Keaton Mitchell the Chargers offense he said their offense sustained a mild setback with Keaton Mitchell do we have a timetable for Keaton Mitchell?
31:36I don't think there was ever any injury officially reported so like for example I drafted him last night in our podcast
31:43league there's no white cross with a red block around it as Heath described it so there's no injury tag associated with
31:51him yet my guess is that is something that will probably happen today if he misses practice again but something to keep
31:59an eye on there for sure and you know you say there's no injury reported this really I was thinking about this
32:06on the drive to work today I'm really annoyed about the Christian McCaffrey thing you can't say this was part of the
32:14plan all along for them to rest me at some point in training camp and also have your coach say that you
32:22had tightness either one of you is lying or both are true and you're just misleading us we are in the time
32:30of year and it gets worse before it gets better where they don't have to tell us the truth about injuries and
32:37we shouldn't expect that they are especially the 49ers yeah but if he's really just resting and it was part of the
32:45plan you cannot say he has tightness you cannot do that they can do whatever they want they shouldn't do that that
32:53that it's not cool man yeah get used to the the genti part of it is interesting because rosters are locked in
33:00right roster cut down is the 30th is it the third it's going to start happening soon I'm not sure when it
33:08is yeah I don't know if it's the first roster cut down date is August 30th I think if if I read
33:16it correctly I'll go back and check August 30th is the final one if he's going on short term IR genti they
33:23would have to make that designation then on the 30th okay or I will be ready or should be ready pewter report
33:31which covers the bucks pew they speculate that Tampa Bay could keep Josh Williams a running back over Sean Tucker and I
33:39wonder if that does anything and makes you feel a little more confident in Bucky Irving Heath I I think even this
33:46report you know if like pew report does a pretty good job I don't know no they're good I mean I'm just
33:54joking but they Williams is cheaper from a cost perspective I'm guessing he's younger I don't know the ages for both those
34:02guys and there's probably a special teams component to this also so this really is I think it's a plus for two
34:09reasons one it hopefully allows Bucky Irving to be the goal line option and Williams just more of a true backup to
34:17maybe Tucker ends up someplace where he can get some opportunities yeah absolutely Quinchon Judkins I if I had him in a
34:25dynasty league I wouldn't get rid of him yet let's see what happens with Trey Benson all right should we go over
34:32I think we should do the fill in the blank and not the preseason left over I'm going to move the preseason
34:40left over to after fill in the blank because that's what the people are here for I got a lot of fill
34:48in the blank questions or you know submissions yesterday and a lot of them were about tennis and I don't really want
34:55to talk about tennis but I do want to Dave's oh yeah Dave tweeted Baker Mayfield to Sirius XM NFL on his
35:03wide receivers Chris Godwin looks like the best version of Chris Godwin being back in a system that's going to help him
35:11be successful in spots he does things really well in a book has been banged up a little bit but still looking
35:18for a huge jump from year one to year two Jalen McMillan is underrated for us I think he's our best separator
35:26in one on one man coverage and with a booka and McMillan out Hurst has it was 14 team league McCaffrey Bowers
35:34Travis H and I think and then Scadaboo and then I took Chris Godwin as my wide receiver one he was like
35:41fourth or fifth in the rankings for you guys I think I JMO I was going to say Brian Thomas hmm and
35:49I was going to I was I think those are better answers I was going to say Christian Watson but all three
35:57of those guys are going in I think one thing to consider is his position versus the receivers because his inconsistencies compared
36:04to the field will be much different than the receivers inconsistencies to the field all right next one is from Jar Jar
36:12thinks which is a funny name why are Drake London and Ted Rola McMillan so far apart identical talents on similar offenses
36:20Drake London is blank spots over ranked over ranked or overdrafted I feel like his ranking and his draft position have to
36:27be pretty similar now I don't think so well I'll tell you he's right around 16 to 18 in both I think
36:35yeah so I don't think that's overdraft I would say 0 2 do you see it's a funny comparison or it's an
36:43interesting comparison London and McMillan yeah I guess if you were probably saying okay can we were probably projecting more of a
36:50year two leap for London than we are for McMillan so it's that's fair the quarterback situation stink for both comparatively to
36:58a lot of other receivers you know I think when you're talking about like Drake London versus the the the receivers around
37:06him like his quarterback situation might be the worst but he's you know so talented he talked about this yesterday like you
37:13know we've seen him with Michael Penix be very productive so at least you can hang your hat on that I don't
37:21know I I understand the two skepticism and it did look awful in the preseason but I think there's more like we
37:29have seen Tua play better football than we've seen Bryce Young play yeah I did go back and look at players like
37:36wide receivers on bad offenses if we think I don't know that London's going to be on a bad offense I were
37:44the first nine games of the season and then he suffered a knee injury and he came back and he was terrible
37:52in three games after returning and the Falcons were 20th in gross passing yards per game 26th in passing touchdowns Drake London's
37:59had a target per run rate of 28% or we just we've seen much more from London obviously than we have from
38:07McMillan from CJ Chipley in week one the backfield split in Pittsburgh will be blank percent Warren and blank percent Dowdle 50-50
38:1549-51 that's one where we could probably look a little bit at what happened in the preseason although maybe not but I
38:22think Jalen Warren was in at the beginning and he played they both had five carries Warren played and then I think
38:30Dowdle played every snap on the second possession and then they split on the third possession so 50-50 why don't we take
38:38a little pause from fill in the blank and take a break and we'll come back and talk Caleb Williams we'll talk
38:45Jalen Hertz and more after this welcome back to fantasy football today from chief moose the sport or activity that Adam could
38:53be Dan at is blank but ping pong I've already done ping pong oh are you kidding I know I complain a
39:01lot but I cannot beat Dan at that oh I got indigestion here the pizza mushroom was so cold come on so
39:08ping pong is the answer ping pong right now is the only thing I know that I can beat him at Keith
39:16you should have do I think Adam would beat Dan in a pizza eating contest I think I would too are you
39:24kidding me that burpy flatulent guy it's so interesting so like Dan likes his sandwich is heavier than you do but you
39:31would eat more pizza than him yeah I definitely challenge Dan so that was that was part of the so just to
39:39you know peek behind the curtain so we were discussing maybe a wing eating contest and Dave was the happiest he was
39:47very Jalen Hurts could have him finish as QB blank one I don't think it's really so much about the passing for
39:55him because I think that's going to like he's not going to be a 4500 yard passer no matter what the offensive
40:02changes are like you need him to be 710 rushing and then the passing to be good 10 yeah I mean I
40:10think he could be 707 or eight I think he could still be a top five quarterback right well I mean that's
40:18that's where he is almost every year you know so it's been a steady decline for the being a better runner or
40:25more more robust runner more volume when he's running gets him to the level that you want to see which I think
40:33the highest I would think would be probably top three so 2022 he was 3700 yards passing 760 yards rushing 35 combined
40:41touchdowns that's the guy in 15 games oh wow and he was QB2 per game 27.9 yeah like the shanny mcveigh treatment
40:48doesn't really make me go wow it's can you run uh benzeth asks who would win in a pastrami eating contest i
40:56had i had corned beef yesterday for the first time in a very long time and i crushed it i mean full
41:04bit that's a plain bagel piles of corned beef it was at your overpriced deli no i uh food recommendations yeah what
41:11do you think about this one plain bagel lightly toasted pastrami swiss cheese tomato and russian dressing it's very similar to the
41:19it's the same exact sandwich is the ham one but it's pastrami i guess it was a cinnamon bagel with plain bagel
41:27no it was plain bagel yeah that's the difference yeah okay next question caleb will finish as qb blank from mark seven
41:34twelve did you answer heath i said twelve oh i'm sorry didn't hear you from yogi danza if you could leave every
41:42draft with three players regardless of format your favorites would be blank cbs sports dot com what's the url cbs sports dot
41:50com slash fft must draft yeah jameer gibbs jamar chase bjohn rolls um i'll say chase brown devante smith and lad mcconkey
41:57that's pretty good and you could do that in rounds one maybe two three and four if you have a late pick
42:05he have a real answer um i mean it's probably based on what i've done i mean i think we're doing this
42:13show on wednesday people we keep drafting um it's probably zay flowers sam laporta and brock birdie right now all right damn
42:20well now you don't have to listen to tomorrow's show next is from gamer eric blank will lead the league in quarterback
42:28rushing jayden daniels i'm just going to look at my projections and i have jayden daniels i'll say jayden daniels from hipster
42:36doofus 21 okay the leading pass catcher for the colts in 2026 will be blank are we doing yards or fantasy points
42:43or receptions hmm that's a great question i think yards josh downs i have i still have alec pierce with 11 more
42:51yards so then downs uh then warn okay from brownie fan mike if i already have isaiah pacheco then i can get
42:59jameer gibbs for blank percent of my auction budget i mean that question about 20 how how much would you spend of
43:06your auction budget on jameer gibbs 30 i think 35 is what i have it okay and um we had an email
43:14right about somebody doing bijan and gibbs uh in our pre-draft conversation i was talking to todd roan so i shared the
43:22team with one of our more generous uh donators for st jude and he was also pissed that he didn't know that
43:29donations determine the draft order and really mad at you adam um because you put us 12th or i'm sorry 13th out
43:37of 14 um while you gave yourself the fifth pick um what's that is that an advantage for me uh well yeah
43:45um so he told me somebody in an auction that he participated also did that and ended up with uh pretty a
43:52quarterback forget who the receivers were it was bad it was bad yeah okay yeah i mean i think you have to
44:00really it kind of depends on how many players you have to start more receivers more flex whatever probably less likely to
44:08go studs and duds there uh next let's see fill in the blank for what was the worst thing i did last
44:15night putting himself in the fifth spot or cutting the draft off at 12 rounds i think cutting the draft off was
44:23no the worst thing he did was justifying the small benches because he likes to have short benches so you understand this
44:31league has been going on since 2013 and i don't think it has ever changed i didn't change any of the format
44:38other than removing kickers and dsts i everything else stayed exactly the same and it has year over year over year so
44:46we have fewer starting spots and the same number of bench spots yeah but we lost a kicker in dst i'm fine
44:54with that that does change the structure of everything each starting spot is now more valuable because there's 25 points a game
45:01that are not going to be scored each week if you guys if everybody wants or a majority want i'm happy to
45:09it's too late now you're indious it's not we do a two-round draft for all i care or just put them on
45:17free agency um yeah i'm glad that that was the worst thing i did last night okay giving myself the fifth pick
45:24i i don't know i i just kind of i mean no picking for someone else was the worst thing that you
45:32did that was an accident i did nothing bad happened there i thought i was on the clock i was the commissioner
45:40so i can pick for anyone or no the other worst thing was that some one manager had connectivity issues and clocked
45:47out probably five times during the draft and every time that it looked like he might have auto licked adam paused it
45:55and asked if the guy was okay and then about two rounds after the last time he did that somebody else auto
46:03licked repeatedly said that they auto licked wanted to take the player that adam ended up taking in jayden daniels no that's
46:10not true and ended up with kenneth gainwell yes no that's the guy i wanted when i when i timed out and
46:18got kenneth gainwell you never asked him oh i i missed that i did not see that i missed it so he
46:26got kenneth send us an email and adam will trade you jayden daniels for kenny gainwell i don't want kenny gainwell he
46:33didn't either um all right back to i don't know what's going on here back to phil of the blank from jake
46:41if ken walker stays healthy for 17 games he will finish the year as rb blank oh six so if you're talking
46:49total fantasy points yeah i'll go six okay yeah because i mean in this scenario other players are getting hurt or everyone's
46:56playing 17 games you know yeah then he's gonna be pretty high up there uh from jay a mid-round wide receiver or
47:04running back i must leave the draft with is blank mid-round yeah um just because i drafted him honestly jordan mason oh
47:12yeah i don't ever know exactly what qualifies as a mid-round um it was probably bill before it's probably still bill i'm
47:20gonna go evans what do you use mid-round mid-round for me is five through eight but what about you oh well i
47:27don't draft bill that often generally well the 12 round draft or is it a well i mean a 14 round draft
47:35is pretty normal right so if you take away kicker in defense it's really like a 12 round draft so here here's
47:43where uh i have the chat transcript in front of me from the draft last night uh he says i was just
47:50amazed at the jayden daniels value congratulations that was at 8 38 p.m eastern travis who i assume wanted uh daniels said
47:58that's who i wanted before losing connection with that gainwell autopick silence from adam not a word not a word i was
48:06having i was having dinner with my family for what it's worth but um so i was kind of i was paying
48:13attention i'm sorry i missed something here but did he say something did this gainwell drafter say something while he drafted gainwell
48:21so here's what happened i'm sorry i skipped because there were some other comments and they're more disparaging um um travis at
48:298 35 said lost connection he says insane adam said did you want jayden daniels no response from travis i'm assuming trying
48:36to figure out what was going on adam says you good there he says incredible then he said i was just amazed
48:44that jayden daniels value because at that point adam had drafted and then he said i want no that's not that's not
48:52i wanted before losing connection with that gainwell autopick that's a different guy no same guy what but that but how far
48:59that's not the guy you picked and that's not the guy you picked jayden daniels for the guy you picked jayden daniels
49:07for didn't want him and wanted carnell instead yes but it is true that right before that he said he lost connection
49:15and didn't want gainwell and you didn't see it and then you responded to messages and then he said that's the guy
49:22i wanted when i auto picked gainwell and you didn't see it i'm sorry it's extremely convenient no that's not true i
49:30never would have done that um all right last last one is from gamer eric again stripling dijon stripling's upside will be
49:38wide receiver blank and his downside will be wide receiver blank uh upside will be wide receiver 31 and downside will be
49:45wide receiver 62 uh i was going to say 30 so agree completely and i will say the downside is wide receiver
49:53on the waiver wire i see more upside with stripling than you guys do but not if everyone stays healthy for every
50:01game but this is the lol this is the 49ers there's no chance all the injuries they've had over the years they've
50:08had maybe two top 30 wide receivers no false um 2024 joan jennings was wide receiver 27 per game with only with
50:16seven and a half targets per game which is a lot okay i'm sure i apologize i'm sure there's been some per
50:24game guys because nobody ever plays a full season that's true um debo samuel and brandon iuk in the same season we're
50:31both top 15 per game debo however a lot of rushing but brandon iuk is wide receiver 16 per game in 2023
50:39average 15.7 points per game that's very good and in that same year debo samuel average 12.7 per game 12.7 ppr fantasy
50:47points per game on just receiving totals alone which is okay um i don't know where that would rank most years last
50:54year would have been a top 30 guy but uh that was on 5.9 targets per game i don't know i'm kind
51:02of i'm really starting to feel the john stripling but i know all the stuff he's done out there has been without
51:10any of the main pass catchers on the field so i'm well aware of that uh if everybody stays healthy there's going
51:17to be a crunch at targets but the thing is with the 49ers you only need like 100 105 targets to be
51:25pretty good we drafted him in the 14 team podcast league last night as our third receiver uh starting three running backs
51:33in a row okay and what do you remember where that was well i'm going to tell you i'm going to pull
51:40up the draft um i actually have i actually have to deal round eight okay and a 14 team league i have
51:48to deal with a uh developing situation in one of the fft open leagues real quick so if you wouldn't mind give
51:56me your thoughts on cam ward who went eight of 12 for 69 yards against seattle backups and in two preseason games
52:03he's probably gotten more action than any other starting quarterback that i can think of here and he's really looked bad inaccurate
52:11downfield and what does this mean mainly for carnell tate and if you want to talk about pollard and spears pollard i
52:19think he played the entire first possession and then didn't play anymore spears play the next two but titans offense uh from
52:26a fantasy standpoint guys i guess just starting with the the passing game or the carnell tape part of this but i
52:34think you should factor in wandell robinson too like you have to downgrade them they just have not looked good so tate
52:42for me was in a range of marvin harrison brian thomas jr chris godwin um i don't think anybody else of significance
52:49like that group you know so like ahead of michael wilson those those type of guys jordan addison uh i've dropped him
52:57behind all those guys the the first group that i mentioned so i would still start to look for him late round
53:05six early round seven depending on how receivers come off the board but not with as much enthusiasm again he's still a
53:12rookie receiver he's going to get better this offense is going to get better i said this after the first preseason game
53:20this is brian dable trying to implement his offense and cam war is probably going to struggle you don't like to see
53:28the offensive line like that but you know again i think they'll just start to gel a little bit more and for
53:35a team like this it could be a lot of garbage time depending on how they're chasing points when it comes to
53:43tate and the same thing for robinson you just have to drop him down a couple spots yeah i i haven't moved
53:51him too much just because carnell tate wasn't ever really ranked based on what my projection was it was kind of based
53:58on the hope of the upside i think i still have him i've got him at the end of round seven so
54:06i may be just a little behind jamie on him still but there's still a lot of upside there there's obviously a
54:14lot of risk and we've seen more of the risk but i think the second year quarterback with a new offensive coordinator
54:21trying to do new things probably explains more of it than we're giving credit for and then when it comes to the
54:29running backs you know pollard for me was always in that he was ahead of this group but you know the the
54:37patriots guys the stealers guys uh brooks i don't know i i don't feel very confident in it right now you know
54:45so he's i'd rather have ramondre i'd rather have jonathan brooks uh i'd love to see one of the stealers guys sort
54:52of emerge but he's right in that mix with them so still could be drafted if you go hero rb or zero
55:00rb as a number two running back but i mean initially when before the before training camp started like i was looking
55:08at him like round six like that's not the case anymore all right ready to talk about a 14 team league for
55:15those of you drafting in deeper formats i will uh put the draft results up on youtube right now youtube.com slash fantasy
55:23football today if you want to observe while i do that i'm sorry i uh as commissioner of 36 fft open leagues
55:31sometimes these issues come up uh everybody do your best to if you're drafting if you're one of the 400 what do
55:38we say he 400 432 432 people drafting uh just do your best to not but anyway uh jamie what were some
55:46of your major takeaways from the deeper format the 14 team league uh huge run on running backs in round one so
55:54uh no surprise there just given the genti injury and some of the panic and knowing i think what's going to happen
56:01in round two so it was uh ken walker went round one we took derrick henry in round one i think devon
56:09a chan went at 14th overall you don't have to guess anymore i've got the draft board for you there you go
56:17yeah so no surprise uh the big run on running backs there and it didn't stop um i kept thinking at some
56:24point these guys are going to start drafting other positions and um no it just it it kept going um i i
56:32thought it was a little bit over the top in terms of the uh even like drafting third and fourth running backs
56:40but um it's something you have to be prepared for and pivot if you need to these drafts lately have been so
56:47helpful for me because they've helped me come up with my own personal tiers and i had been talking about an adp
56:55tier of the older wide receivers some of not everyone old in this range but it's davante adams terry mclaurin mike evans
57:03at the back of it and then mixed in there you've got just looking at this draft jameson williams romo dunze maybe
57:10christian watson parker washington has certainly moved into that range now and i from the last two drafts i've done have noticed
57:18that i personally like davante adams better than everyone else in that group jamison williams terry mclaurin parker washington romo dunze um
57:26mike evans mike evans was off the board before all of those guys in this draft if you're looking at the results
57:33so when adams went in round four what was that like 51st overall let me see adams 51st overall i was up
57:41and i took scatty boo and i really hated that pick um but i was i was just like you know what
57:49i'm just gonna have i want my three running backs you've heard me say that 14 team league i want three running
57:56backs i feel like i can start every week so i got those with three of my first four picks and i
58:04didn't have any wide receivers mcafree bowers travis h and cam scataboo but i guess my point is you know doing all
58:12these drafts doing mock drafts for me it changes when it's a real draft um it makes me really gives me a
58:19lot more clarity on how i feel about players and i really like davante adams i guess um so anyway uh that's
58:27yeah you said it was very heavy on wide on running back i didn't want to be that running back heavy but
58:35i just kind of panicked and took scataboo there and then you took tootin with your fourth pick 54th overall after taking
58:42chase rice and flowers from the three spot so let's talk about how your team turned out he said with a three
58:50receiver build and a 14 team league yeah i i don't really like that tootin pick and i think it's probably worth
58:58reminding people when you see tootin in round four it's round five and a 12 team league and in the middle of
59:05round five but even so it's earlier than i wanted to take him but i wasn't sure there would be another running
59:13back in the nfl left when i picked again so i took him um i i both love getting lamar jackson in
59:21round five of a 14 league team league and hated it because jaden daniels went two full rounds later which is like
59:2830 picks later um i don't think most people can count on that happening but i probably would have waited and not
59:36taken lamar jackson and taken a running back or something um i had made the intentional choice not to take sam laporta
59:44in this draft because i had four managed drafts that i'd already done and he was on all four of those teams
59:51um so jamie got a great value on laporta later and i took isaiah likely um it like pick 120 or something
59:59it was a i thought that was a pretty good value and then i just tried to draft as many running backs
60:07as i could i've got tootin and chris rodriguez i've got rj harvey bill tank bigsby and a couple other backup running
60:14backs i think that the key for me is lamar stays healthy and i'm right about having three of my top 12
60:22wide receivers in a 14 team league then the running backs don't matter that much yeah for me that my philosophy is
60:30kind of influenced by just being in a league like this and knowing if there's anything available on waiver wire on the
60:37waiver wire that i feel like pretty comfortable with on a weekly basis it's wide receivers that you know i can throw
60:45in and get like a decent week out of you could probably find a quentin johnston jordan addison type wide receiver on
60:53occasion on the waiver wire yeah but you can't really find a running back unless there's an injury it's hard to find
61:00a running back that's well it's easier when you have a smaller bench it is it is and that's why that's why
61:08i did it because to make it easier but it's still hard i mean unless there was an injury at running back
61:16it's really difficult to find any running back on the waiver wire that's giving you anything worth i was just going to
61:23look i mean yeah it's gonna have to be an injury i was just gonna look at the guys that didn't get
61:31drafted so the probable rb2 in dallas malik davis didn't get drafted the probable rb2 in cincinnati samaj ap ryan i was
61:39surprised naji harris didn't get drafted um i don't know seth mcgowan didn't get drafted um i'm not sure was emmett johnson
61:46drafted yes he was so there's there's probably six or seven uh nick singleton didn't get drafted yeah jalen right i don't
61:54think i drafted nope um justice hill didn't get drafted he's he's probably the guy that's going to be able to score
62:02you eight to ten points that's available on the waiver wire most of the year so so heath went three wide receivers
62:10to start jamie went three running backs from the 13th spot and the four and pick 14 also went three running backs
62:17but jamie derrick henry omarion hampton breese hall dj moore did you think you were going to go two running backs to
62:25start with each your first two picks when you had the 13th pick and the 16th pick yeah our our initial discussion
62:33was running back running back receiver receiver just knowing who was gonna most likely be on the board uh in rounds three
62:40and four you know i think we kind of committed to similar to to your thoughts like getting running backs in this
62:48league is is some of a priority it's what helped us win the league last year i forget who the third one
62:56was but we took breeze hall last year in round five uh because everybody was kind of running away from him it
63:03just ended up being good advice we had devon h hand and breeze i don't remember who the other one was about
63:11somebody we took early uh and this was just taking a few different players that neither myself or todd have drafted much
63:19of yet so henry and hampton uh i would have probably as much as i don't love hn but that's in the
63:2612 team league i would have taken hn most likely ahead of henry and then um i probably would have gone barkley
63:34um or i'm sorry i was fine with hampton around too but in any event um when hall was was still sitting
63:42there we said let's take the the running back value here just knowing again what this league was like i don't love
63:49marvin harrison as my second receiver as our second receiver but i think you know the combination of harrison stripling coker will
63:57make that work if dj more does what he's capable of doing what i think he's going to do so i was
64:05probably fine with it you mentioned you know the quarterback value like we were thrilled to get dak prescott where we got
64:12him and then just taking some you know late round flyers on guys that you see me probably dropped a lot jalen
64:20coker marshall lloyd you know we talked about this on the on the sleepers show that we did for fft express so
64:28i'm very happy with how this roster turned out it's just a matter of well you know like these point you know
64:35what will three of you know my top 15 running backs essentially when bruce hall's healthy will they be good as the
64:43guy who took the first tight end brock bowers uh 24th overall i think there's no way i would have taken him
64:51if it had been a three receiver league i i don't think so anyway uh would have been perfectly fine value but
64:58a 14 team three receiver league i don't like there's i couldn't have justified waiting until the fifth round to take my
65:06first wide receiver so two receivers two running backs one flex yeah it is 14 teams that makes it deeper but it's
65:14not that it's not that different from like a 12 team three receiver league i guess but yeah i don't think i
65:21would have taken bowers there i probably would have taken rishi rice instead or neighbors or smith but probably rishi rice i
65:29don't know if you guys had any thoughts on i i asked you heath earlier about you know shallower format like fft
65:37open should you try to get at least an elite tight end or quarterback and you said yeah i mean not necessarily
65:44for sure but shallower format yeah but what about this deeper format with tight end and quarterback generally speaking i think you
65:52probably don't want to spend a lot on both your quarterback and your tight end in a 14 team league i didn't
66:00plan on drafting an elite quarterback but i think it was pick 59 when i took lamar jackson and i just it's
66:07a six point per pass touchdown league i just couldn't not do it um and i was trying to i figured the
66:15way i look at it i've got elite wide receivers i've got an elite flex if i have an elite quarterback that
66:23gives me five spots where i should be as good or better than most the league and so that's why i took
66:30lamar there and then i just waited at tight end i think dave might be the only one or dave's team might
66:38be the only one that took kind of a high-end quarterback and tight end he took craft and drake may in rounds
66:46five and six and only had one running back through six rounds it was quinch on judkins oh boy his running backs
66:53i mean this is too risky for me but he went lamb aj brown garrett wilson dave richard here lamb aj brown
67:01garrett wilson quinch on judkins tucker craft he must have he must have felt like he just missed out look at the
67:09four picks before him are jaylen warren remandre stevenson jonathan brooks and rico dowdle so he probably just missed out on a
67:16tier i think he could have taken pollard there though he didn't he went tucker craft and then pollard went one pick
67:24before he took drake may in round six um so his running backs are quinch on judkins mike washington jonah coleman ray
67:32davis and james connor that's that i mean hopefully for him he's hoping ashton jenty doesn't play week one or two and
67:39then he has judkins and mike washington to start but if jenty if jenty's healthy early dave's gonna have a lot of
67:47trouble and i like rb2 i think i like the upside of some of dave's non judkins running backs more than i
67:55do my own i tried to kind of do a blend of guys that i think could have big upside if the
68:02guy got hurt and guys like rj harvey who i feel like in full ppr i'm probably be going to going to
68:10be able to start in a full ppr league um so it that's that's one thing to consider when you're weak at
68:18running back is are you all the way in on give me the biggest upside if they get the opportunity to or
68:25do you want a couple of guys that you can start okay so i uh i just want to point out one
68:33thing if you look here at eric reison team 14 and if he had taken instead of mike evans if he had
68:41taken a running back there and this square would have been green we would have had two connect fours okay we've had
68:48a down a vertical and a diagonal which is really you don't see a lot of that you don't see a lot
68:56of connect fours um oh you see here's one lamb jefferson mcconkey dj more is a connect four i love it i
69:04guess you do see a lot of them i'm not familiar with how many connect fours that we usually say here's one
69:11here's a connect five wow okay fun with what are you doing right now ending the show that's a good pick is
69:19gonna be interesting i need to go up to the top here i've earned it all right uh we'll talk to you
69:27jamie and i are gonna record breakouts his all breakout team and then we'll talk to you tomorrow with the draft-a-thon and
69:35more talk to you tomorrow on fantasy football today podcasts
