A.J. Brown

NegativeInjury13:10

Out for the Patriots. His absence is a major factor in Drake Maye's struggles, as Maye no longer has his top receiver and must rely on less-proven options.

Insight page

Aaron Jones

NegativeUsage5:47

Used in the passing attack for the Vikings. If Jefferson misses time, Jones could see increased involvement in the offense alongside Addison and other perimeter weapons.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeInjury28:08

Baker Mayfield will miss at least a minimum of three weeks with a dislocated thumb. This opens the door for Jalen Daniels to take over as the starting quarterback for the Buccaneers.

Insight page

Bo Nix

NegativeProjection24:34

Bo Nix was on Matthew Berry's bench in the fifth spot for Week 3. Berry was asked about starting Nix before the game but had recommended starting Brock Purdy instead, who was on his preseason love list.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

PositiveRole8:50

Played 100% of snaps after Hall's injury. Expected to handle early downs and goal-line role. Jets offense has looked competent; Allen could be preferred over Dolphins running backs on waivers. Depending on Hall's severity, Allen becomes a viable flex option.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury8:28

Left game with thigh injury; severity unknown. Braylon Allen played 100% of snaps after Hall left. Expectation is Allen will handle early downs and goal-line role, with Isaiah Davis seeing some passing-game work. Hall expected to miss 3-6 weeks with quad strain.

Insight page
NegativeInjury34:00

Breece Hall being out plays a role in how the Jets will cover their outside receivers. With Hall unavailable, the Jets may rely more on running back pass-catching from other options, which could affect coverage schemes for outside receivers like Garrett Wilson.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeBust39:47

Brian Thomas Jr. was included on Matthew Berry's Sunday Scaries list—players who had poor fantasy performances in Week 3.

Insight page
NegativeRole49:11

Matthew Berry states that Brian Thomas Jr. is no longer worth starting, though he's not dropping him yet. Berry identifies the Jaguars' pass-catching pecking order as Parker Washington, Jacoby Myers, and then Brian Thomas Jr., indicating a third-tier role. Berry also notes that Thomas has faced elite cornerback coverage including Denzel Ward, Pat Surtain, and Christian Gonzalez, which has limited his production.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeProjection34:43

Brock Bowers had a huge game in Week 3. Matthew Berry states he will not sell high on Bowers and projects him to be the number one tight end in fantasy football going forward.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection25:58

Brock Purdy is the second-best quarterback in fantasy football on a points-per-game basis through three weeks, averaging over 30 rushing yards per game and recording at least three touchdowns in every game this season. Matthew Berry notes he was on his preseason love list and has been a top-six fantasy quarterback on a points-per-game basis since becoming a starter. Despite wide receivers falling off around him, Purdy remains elite in the Kyle Shanahan offense.

Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveRole46:33

Bryce Young has a great connection with Tedaroa McMillan dating back to high school, and they've always wanted to play with each other. Young is always trying to extend the ball vertically, which aligns with McMillan's strengths, suggesting McMillan should bounce back despite week three struggles.

Insight page

Darren Waller

PositiveBreakout46:02

Darren Waller has been performing well coming off retirement, which was unexpected. Matthew Berry notes the Panthers are looking at Waller a lot more than anticipated, and he's been a great asset. The source describes him as 'Waller the baller,' indicating strong performance.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveProjection40:20

David Montgomery is averaging just 2.8 yards per carry with only one run of 10+ yards through Week 3, showing no explosiveness; despite being a Matthew Berry preseason sleeper pick based on expected volume in a run-heavy offense, the Chargers' offensive line struggles and inability to establish the run game have undermined his fantasy value.

Insight page
NegativeProjection43:35

Matthew Berry was a preseason sleeper on Montgomery, expecting high volume despite inefficiency; however, after three touchdowns in week one, he has scored under six fantasy points per game over the past two weeks with Nico Collins out. The concern is that when the Texans got down early, they married pass with run, and Woody Marks vultured a touchdown. With Stroud top four in passing attempts and Montgomery not a pass-catching back, the offense is shortchanged further without Collins to stretch the field. Teams are stacking the box because they're not scared of CJ Stroud.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeInjury0:33

Torn ACL, will miss the rest of the season. His injury opens the backfield for Obi Gordon and Jalen Wright, though Wright was a scratch in the game where Gordon played 87% of snaps. Gordon is averaging under three yards per carry in 20 career games but has more touchdown upside; both backs will likely operate in a committee on a bad Dolphins team.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection12:00

One touchdown, seven interceptions through three games; single-digit fantasy points in all three games. 195 passing yards per game ranks 26th in NFL. Was drafted as a top-three fantasy quarterback but is no longer a must-start. Upcoming schedule (Buffalo, Las Vegas, Jets, Chicago) is easier, but without A.J. Brown, he's now a high-end QB2 at best.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

NegativeInjury10:25

Left game briefly but appears to be fine. No significant injury concern.

Insight page
PositiveUsage32:23

Garrett Wilson has a 28% target share through three weeks and ranks as wide receiver nine in utilization score. He's caught 78% of his targets. Matthew Berry emphasizes that with Geno Smith providing competent quarterback play, Wilson finally has the stable passing game needed to unlock his elite talent. The loss of AD Mitchell should lead to even more targets for Wilson.

Insight page

Geno Smith

PositiveProjection25:58

Gino Smith has looked like the best Jets quarterback in quite some time, possibly the best in the past decade. Matthew Berry notes that Gino is good enough to keep the other guys around him afloat and has provided the stable, competent quarterback play the Jets offense needed to unlock the potential of their skilled players.

Insight page

Isaiah Davis

NegativeRole9:05

May see some work if Breece Hall misses time. Expected to be used in the passing attack rather than early-down work.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

NegativeUsage47:44

Matthew Berry is not worried about Isaiah Likely despite a quiet Week 3 game. Berry highlights that Likely has maintained at least a 23% target share in every game this season, demonstrating consistent involvement in the Giants' passing attack regardless of game script or weather conditions.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

PositiveRole25:58

Jacoby Brissett is good enough to keep the other guys around him afloat in the passing game. Matthew Berry uses him as an example of a quarterback who, despite playing in a bad matchup, can still support fantasy production from his skill position players.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

NegativeInjury45:29

Jalen Coker left early in week three with a quad injury. Matthew Berry assumes the injury isn't serious and notes that Coker is clearly the number one wide receiver in the Panthers offense, preferred over Tedaroa McMillan.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

PositiveInjury18:25

Out; Marcus Mariota filled in and performed well. Mariota is not a big downgrade for fantasy purposes, maintaining similar target distributions to when Daniels plays.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveUsage31:04

Jalen Warren had a massive workload in Week 3 with Rico Dotson out, playing 90% of snaps and averaging over 8 yards per touch with three plays of 20+ yards. Over the last two seasons, when Warren gets more than 15 touches, he averages over 100 yards from scrimmage. Matthew Berry now views him as a rock-solid RB2 conversation player, noting that Aaron Rodgers has a connection with Warren from last year and trusts him in the passing game.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

NegativeRole0:43

Was a scratch in the game where Achane was injured. More explosive runner than Gordon but less efficient. Expected to share carries with Gordon in a committee backfield on the Dolphins if he gets playing time.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveBreakout28:28

Jeremiah Love's breakout is here. In Week 3, he had 26 touches (90 rushing yards, 19 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown)—more touches in one week than in the first two games combined. He's been targeted on 27% of his routes and has double-digit target share in every game this season. Matthew Berry now views him as a borderline top-12 fantasy running back and RB1, up from a high-end flex/low-end RB2 preseason projection due to ankle concerns and Tyler Algier's presence.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

PositiveUsage5:12

Went off after Jefferson left the game with 36% target share, four deep targets, and average target depth of nearly 20 yards. In 14 career games with at least 20% target share, Addison averages over 15 fantasy points per game. If Jefferson misses time, Addison becomes a very startable wide receiver.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeInjury5:04

Left game with ankle injury; severity unknown as of taping. If he misses time, Jordan Addison immediately becomes a startable wide receiver, and the Vikings' passing attack spreads to Aaron Jones and potentially Juwan Jennings.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveBreakout9:55

Had a big breakout game with a catch for a touchdown. With Breece Hall out, Sadiq and other perimeter weapons will see increased attention as defenses won't be as concerned with the running game.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout33:36

Kenyon Sadiq had a breakout game in Week 3 with a 22% target share, 7 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. Matthew Berry notes this is significant because Frank Reich, the Jets' offensive coordinator, has always favored tight ends in his scheme. With Mason Taylor banged up, Sadiq is positioned to continue receiving heavy volume.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection5:55

Had an up-and-down fantasy performance but was able to get the ball to the players he needed to. Described as stretching the field vertically for the Vikings offense.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveProjection47:34

Matthew Berry holds out hope for Malik Nabers despite a quiet Week 3 game in brutal rain and wind conditions. Berry emphasizes Nabers is incredibly talented and getting healthier, and likes the matchups coming up the next two weeks against the Cardinals and at Washington. Berry also expresses optimism that J.J. McCarthy or improved quarterback play could get the ball to Nabers more effectively.

Insight page

Malik Willis

PositiveUsage2:05

Had over 50 yards rushing against the Chiefs and looked better than expected. With Achane out, the Dolphins may lean on Willis' rushing ability more, potentially improving his fantasy prospects despite the team's overall struggles.

Insight page

Marcus Mariota

PositiveProjection18:20

Filled in for Jaden Daniels against Seattle and had 20.4 fantasy points with three touchdown passes. In nine starts with the Commanders, Mariota has at least 15 fantasy points in six of them, including three 20-point games. Top-10 among quarterbacks in fantasy points per dropback over past two seasons. Good streaming option when filling in for Daniels.

Insight page
PositiveProjection19:00

Marcus Mariota is top 10 among quarterbacks in fantasy points per dropback over the past two seasons. In nine starts with the Commanders, he's had at least 15 fantasy points in six of them, including three different 20-point games. Against Seattle in Week 3, he posted 20.4 points with three touchdown passes. Matthew Berry recommends him as a streaming option when filling in for Jaden Daniels.

Insight page

Mason Taylor

PositiveInjury34:30

Mason Taylor is banged up, which opens the door for Kenyon Sadiq to continue receiving heavy volume at tight end for the Jets. Matthew Berry questions how you go back to Mason Taylor after Sadiq's breakout performance.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury14:35

Carted off with rib injury; to be evaluated later. Severity unknown.

Insight page

Omarion Hampton

NegativeBust39:47

Marion Hampton was included on Matthew Berry's Sunday Scaries list—players who had poor fantasy performances in Week 3.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveBreakout49:13

Matthew Berry highlights Parker Washington as having a breakout season very quietly, noting he's awesome and is the top pass-catcher in the Jaguars' pecking order ahead of Jacoby Myers and Brian Thomas Jr.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveUsage17:00

Played 67% of snaps, 100% of third downs, and got all three snaps inside the five-yard line. Despite Travion Henderson's big breakout, Stevenson maintains the lead role and will be ranked ahead of Henderson next week, though he's more of a high-end flex than a workhorse.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveRole19:06

Stefan Diggs benefits from Marcus Mariota's competent quarterback play with the Commanders. Matthew Berry notes that with Mariota under center, skilled players like Diggs and Terry McLaurin should see consistent production, especially with an upcoming schedule featuring the Colts (London), Giants, 49ers, and a bye week before Jaden Daniels potentially returns.

Insight page

T.J. Hockenson

NegativeRole6:35

Expected to be the number two guy in terms of volume behind Jordan Addison in the Vikings offense under Kevin O'Connell's play-calling.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveUsage18:30

Had a 25% target share with Marcus Mariota filling in for Jaden Daniels, matching his target share from last year. Good connection with Mariota, suggesting consistent volume when Daniels is out.

Insight page
PositiveUsage18:58

Terry McLaurin had a 30% target share in Week 3 against Seattle. In the last six games with Marcus Mariota as starting quarterback, McLaurin is averaging over 15 fantasy points per game. Matthew Berry highlights McLaurin and Stefan Diggs as beneficiaries of Mariota's competent play, especially with an upcoming favorable schedule (Colts in London, then Giants, 49ers, and bye).

Insight page

Tetairoa McMillan

NegativeUsage45:22

Tedaroa McMillan's target share collapsed from 27% in weeks one through two to just 12% in week three, a significant concern. Matthew Berry notes he hasn't been a massive target earner so far this season. Jalen Coker left early with a quad injury, which complicates the Panthers receiver hierarchy. McMillan is clearly the number two wide receiver behind Coker, but the target share decline is worrisome.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeInjury14:20

Left game with hamstring injury. Severity and timeline unknown.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

NegativeUsage17:15

Slid at the one-yard line with eight minutes left in the game, jokingly saying he was trying to help fantasy managers. The play cost a potential touchdown for a fantasy-relevant player.

Insight page

Treylon Burks

PositiveProjection46:24

Matthew Berry expresses confidence in Treylon Burks bouncing back despite a quiet Week 3 performance. Berry notes that Bryce Young is extending the ball vertically, which aligns with Burks' strengths, and emphasizes he would not be panicking with Burks at all.

Insight page

Woody Marks

NegativeRole44:24

Woody Marks vultured a touchdown from David Montgomery in week three, indicating a role split in the Texans backfield that limits Montgomery's scoring upside despite high volume expectations.

0:00It is 1 o'clock on the East Coast, but it is 5 o'clock somewhere, so welcome to Happy Hour.
0:05It's Happy Hour, Mo Hassan, Michelle Beadle, I am Matthew Berry, a friendly neighborhood bartender.
0:10We are here once again to get you ready for your fantasy football wins.
0:14Big week in the world of fantasy football, one last game to go, but if you have a healthy fantasy team, please raise your hand.
0:21Well, does Drake May count? Because he forgot football?
0:24Well, apparently I'm an extra from Newsies. What is this?
0:27I don't know. I love that movie. Oh my God, I don't know.
0:30That's not even a lot. That was the big intro to Christian Bale as like a child.
0:35Oh yeah, exactly. I know. And the Batman here.
0:38All right, so. Do you want to start there?
0:41Actually, that was a teaser. Yeah, so these are the fantasy headlines, obviously.
0:44Is it like, you know, there are tons of star players injured.
0:48Is Drake Maye still a fantasy starter? Absolutely not.
0:50My commanders know Jaden? No problem. Let's start with.
0:53I'm happy to be with your commanders on this.
0:56Thank you very much. I appreciate that. That was big.
0:58I feel that through the interview. To be clear, Beatle and I have been working on this show for a couple weeks.
1:05That's the first nice thing she's said to me.
1:07And maybe the last. We'll see. Yeah, let's start with the injuries.
1:11Yeah. You want to start with A-chan? Yeah, yeah.
1:14I mean, there were, by the way, there were a lot of big injuries.
1:18Some, like this one, is obviously a season ender.
1:20Talk to me about the ramifications of that one.
1:23Yeah, first up, this one just sucks, right? Yeah.
1:25By the way, Devon A-chan, one of my favorite players in the NFL.
1:29Friend of the podcast, Devon A-chan. Nice. As well, Giga Maggie's, Texas A&M.
1:33So the news came out earlier this morning. He is torn in ACL.
1:37He will miss the rest of the season. Now, and so the obvious answer here is like, you know, you've got Oli Gordon.
1:43Now people are like, well, what about Jalen Wright?
1:46It's Oli Gordon, right? Well, Jalen Wright was a scratch.
1:49He did not play in the game. 87% of the snaps after Devon A-chan left the game.
1:54Oli Gordon played 87% of the snaps. Now, in 20 career games, Oli Gordon is averaging under three yards a carry.
2:00Wright's the more explosive runner, but he's not as efficient.
2:03Honestly, what I think this is, both guys need to be picked up.
2:06We'll talk more about this tomorrow on the Waver Wire show.
2:10I prefer Gordon to Wright just because Gordon probably has more touchdown upside.
2:13Feels like they'll use him when they get in close.
2:16But the truth of the matter is, is like, I think both guys are going to be a committee.
2:22It's going to be a committee situation on a bad team, right?
2:25And Malik Willis, you know, had over 50 yards rushing in this game against the Chiefs.
2:30Malik Willis actually looked better. And maybe this means they'll lean on Willis even more.
2:34So maybe now this helps Willis' prospects. But it's just brutal for me.
2:38I hate seasoners. Yeah, I mean, speaking of Malik Willis, it's never a good sign when your starting quarterback is quoting scriptures after week three.
2:45I feel like that's kind of when you know it's going downhill.
2:49I didn't see the scripture he quoted. He's making deals with the spirits.
2:53That's the sign, right? The divine. I mean, look, and probably deservedly so because they lose the one bright spot in a bad team.
2:59It's a really young team. They're trying to build from the core with a new coaching staff, new system.
3:05I think it just kind of changes the way defenses even approach you, right?
3:09You can take a guy outside of the box.
3:12Now we're going to see some more umbrella coverages, two high looks, really tough for an already struggling passing game.
3:17And then you mentioned those two guys by committee.
3:20It's just a tough situation all the way around.
3:23Yeah, no Caleb Douglas in the game as well.
3:25So Chris Bell and Darren Waller, you know. Oh, sorry, Waller's a lot of the Panthers.
3:30I keep from memory. He used to be on the Dolphins.
3:33But it was, yeah, it was really Chris Bell was the one positive for the Dolphins offensively.
3:38Willis looked better. I mean, you can watch the game.
3:41Like, he was at least throwing the ball downfield.
3:43They were taking some shots. They were taking some shots.
3:46He was at least Dolphins. Had a nice big catch.
3:49But, yeah, this just feels like this, like, stays away.
3:52Like, maybe Willis becomes on the 2QB radar now because they'll lean on him more and his rushing more without A-chan.
3:58And they'll have to get a little bit more creative.
4:01But, yeah, I don't think this is one of those where I got to go get Ali Gordon.
4:06I got to go get Jalen Wright because, again, I think they're going to split touches.
4:11And I don't think it's a particularly good team.
4:14So both guys are going to be at the top of the waiver tomorrow.
4:18We'll talk about this. But, you know, again, I don't think it's a blow-all-your-fab-budget kind of thing for either of those guys.
4:24So it's just an awful situation. It didn't get better for a lot of folks.
4:28This is what I did yesterday. I was walking to the other room, and then I heard Justin Jefferson injured.
4:34And I was like, you've got to be kidding me.
4:37I'm not like, I just, that's another big name that had a rough day.
4:41Why do you walk like an old lady? Yeah, why were you walking like that?
4:45Is this not how we all walk to our kitchens?
4:48Oh, my bad. I don't know, Matt. You talked to me about Justin.
4:52I'm just, I don't know. What was that? That's what the jealousy is saying to you.
4:57It's like I'm sneaking into my own house. In your own house.
5:00I don't know. Okay, Justin Jefferson. Stop taking us off the rails.
5:04Justin Jefferson left and not return. Now what? Yeah, it's an ankle injury.
5:07So as of this taping, we do not know how serious the injury is to Justin Jefferson.
5:12But Jordan Addison went off, right? 36% target share once Jefferson went down.
5:16Four deep targets, right? An average of the target of almost 20 yards, which was great.
5:21In the 14 career games in which Jordan Addison's had at least a 20% target share, he's averaging over 15 fantasy points per game.
5:28And so I think if Jefferson is to miss any time, Addison immediately becomes like a very startable wide receiver too.
5:34He has somebody there, as you see it there on your screen.
5:37You know, they sort of spread it around. Like again, Jordan Addison, you know, had a really nice game.
5:43Addison, by the way, is somebody who has always been a big touchdown scorer as well.
5:47They used Aaron Jones in the passing attack as well.
5:50Juwan Jennings might become on the fantasy radar if Jefferson were to miss any time as well.
5:55Wasn't an unbelievable game for Kyler Murray. By the way, are you guys hearing music?
5:59Is music going out over the air? I don't know if this is...
6:03I kind of like it. I'm not sure what that was.
6:06It was like bad jazz. No, it was like loungy.
6:09It was loungy. That's what it was. You're right.
6:12That's what they're going for. Shout out the Vikings 3-0.
6:15I feel like we give them no love. Okay, carry on.
6:18Sorry. Yeah, let's hear it for Kevin O'Connell, by the way.
6:21And by the way, in case you missed it, by the way, or if you're just listening to the podcast, the Vikings are down a quarterback.
6:29J.J. McCarthy traded to the New York football Giants.
6:31That was insane. We can talk about that tomorrow.
6:34I don't know that there's any big fantasy impact.
6:37We'll talk about this tomorrow. It's going to take a couple weeks before he becomes a starter.
6:41Is he better than Jameis Winston? Here's hoping. Maybe.
6:44Possibly. So we'll talk more about that. Jameis Winston's going to be the starter for week number one.
6:49For the Vikings? For the next week, I should say.
6:52I'll tell you what, it's going to be fun to see what Jordan Addison does.
6:57Yeah. He's a talented player. Yeah. I spent a lot of time with him in college.
7:01Probably the smoothest route runner I think I've been around.
7:04Yeah. You were going to say something? No, I was going to say.
7:08Explain the sound fact? No, name and dropping names.
7:10I don't think you understand. Between the three of us, we've got a lot of...
7:15No, mine's nothing. If I'm talking about a wide receiver, my experience is throwing him the football.
7:20Right, right. As a quarterback, I love when I know...
7:23We're working on a name-dropping sound effect because there's a lot of it.
7:26There's going to be a lot of it that's happening here.
7:30But all right, that's fine. You played college ball with Jordan Addison.
7:33You threw him the ball a lot. Yeah. I think it's going to be fun to see him featured for the first time.
7:40And then who better to be featured by than Kevin O'Connell?
7:43I think one of the best play designers. I call him KFC.
7:46Yeah, you're close with him. Thank you. No, see?
7:49I'm going to fake name drop this entire show.
7:51No, I think it's going to be fun. He's going to get a ton of targets.
7:56I think Kyler's going to stretch the field vertically.
7:59I think TJ Hawkinson's going to be probably the number two guy in terms of volume behind J.A.
8:04But I think it's a perfect fit. I think he's going to have a great stint in replacement for Justin Jefferson.
8:10So they play, you know, the schedule is favorable.
8:13So they're home to Miami coming up. Then they're at the Saints.
8:16Then they've got a bye. So again, we don't know.
8:19Like there's a chance that Justin Jefferson's back this week.
8:22We don't know the severity of the injury just yet.
8:25But if he were to miss any time, again, Addison steps up.
8:28Kyler was up and down, I thought, fantasy-wise. But he was able to get the ball to who he needed to, which was— Oh, that must be nice.
8:36Yeah. No, it's just something that the Vikings have— Well, it's what the Vikings have lacked for a while as well.
8:42So, yeah. So we'll find out about that. Another injury here, Brees Hall.
8:46There you go. Left the game with a thigh injury.
8:49Also another one that we don't know the severity of the injury.
8:53But Braylon Allen played 100% of the snaps after Brees Hall left.
8:56Maybe you see some Isaiah Davis as well if Brees Hall is going to miss any time.
9:01But, you know, my expectation here is Braylon Allen's going to play the early downs.
9:05He'll have the goal line role as well. You'll see Isaiah Davis some in the passing attack.
9:10Again, Braylon Allen won't take the entirety of Brees Hall's role.
9:13But the Jets' offense has looked better than I think a lot of people expected.
9:18They've looked competent or at least competent adjacent. Geno's looked solid.
9:21Braylon Allen, I think— Again, depending on the severity of Brees Hall's injury, you can certainly make an argument that you'd prefer
9:27to have Braylon Allen than either the Dolphins running backs on waivers tomorrow.
9:31So we'll talk about that again more tomorrow. Yeah, they're talking, I think, three to six weeks with the quad strain.
9:37So we'll see what that's like. I kind of see it in a similar view as A-chan, the effect on the offense with the Dolphins, with the Jets.
9:45Because he's such a big part of that run game.
9:48And the way that you cover some of these guys, I think it's going to put a lot of stress on the perimeter weapons.
9:55And we saw what Kenyon Sadiq has done. He had a big breakout game in that catch for the touchdown.
10:01Unbelievable. Freaky Sadiqy, they call him. Who's there? Who calls him that?
10:04Everybody. And then Gary Wilson had a massive game.
10:07So now I think that changes how you cover a guy like that when you're not as concerned with the running game.
10:13So I'm going to be curious to see if Braylon can really step up in that place.
10:18Aaron Glenn said that he will not, they don't know the extent of Brees Hall's injury.
10:23They won't have an update until Wednesday specifically. So we'll see until Wednesday.
10:27So hopefully some news will break before then in terms of a specific timeline for his return.
10:32But certainly not great for the Jets on Brees Hall.
10:34And by the way, Garrett Wilson also left that game briefly.
10:38But it seems like he's going to be fine.
10:40And Freaky Sadiqy will talk about. That's actually good.
10:43That one I like a lot. Yeah. He's huge.
10:45Have you seen him? I wanted to make a joke and then I thought I should make a joke.
10:51And then I remember we don't have an HR department.
10:54I thought, oh, maybe I should make the joke.
10:56And then I'm like, eh. Should I be the HR department?
11:00Yeah, I think that's it. I'll do it for free.
11:03Consider it done. Done. Okay, I know that in the world and the world outside, no one cares about your fantasy team Bs.
11:09Okay, well, indulge me for one second if you might.
11:12On one of my teams, shout out the You're Not Invited League.
11:16Bo Nix was projected to have 17 points yesterday.
11:18Wait, the name of the league is You're Not Invited?
11:21Yeah. You like that? It's not bad. You like that?
11:24Who's in this league? Who's in this exclusionary league?
11:27Just some folks. You know who's funny in it is Grant Williams, formerly NBA.
11:31He's in like 12. He's psychotic. And I did not know that because he wasn't in it last year.
11:36Josh Gad couldn't be in it this year because he's in Paris filming Ocean's 11, the prequel.
11:41If that's not the biggest name drop thing I've ever heard in my entire life.
11:45Okay, so Bo Nix projected 17. Hang on for a second.
11:49Hang on for one second. I want to stop for one second.
11:52Oh, no. So he's not in this league, but he used to be in the league.
11:57He was, but I beat him. You played fantasy football with Olaf?
12:00Yeah, I have. Fantasy football, that's actually cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
12:03That's actually cool. It's a good, Jackie Bradley Jr.'s are our reigning champ.
12:07I only brought up Bo Nix because he was on my bench because one Matthew Bartholomew Berry told me to do that, and so I did.
12:15And then I left Drake Maye, and he was projected to have 18 points, and he finished with 4.76.
12:20Is that less than 18? I feel like it is.
12:23Dude, what's wrong with this, dude? What do we do now?
12:26This is an actual desperate move for fantasy players.
12:29Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I mean, I think Drake May now is no longer a starting quarterback.
12:33I mean, he was drafted to be like a top-three fantasy guy.
12:37One touchdown, seven interceptions on the season so far.
12:39He's been single-digit fantasy points in all three games so far this season.
12:43His 195 passing yards a game ranks 26th in the NFL.
12:46They're at Buffalo next week. In theory, the schedule lays out nicely for him.
12:50As you see the numbers there, it's been bad.
12:53Right? Now, listen. Played the Seahawks, the Steelers, and the Jaguars.
12:56Those are three tough defenses to play in Jacksonville.
12:59The game was at Jacksonville. So that's a tougher place to play.
13:02Upcoming schedule gets a little bit easier. At Buffalo, home to Las Vegas, home to the Jets, at Chicago.
13:08Four defenses that, in theory, you can throw on.
13:10But there's no A.J. Brown. So what I would say about this is that I'm not dropping Drake May, but I'm also
13:17not starting him no matter what without looking at the matchup and looking at my other options, which is what you were doing.
13:23If the matchup's a junior high team, I'll keep him in.
13:27But if it's not, I'm not. I'm not playing.
13:29You're done. No, but honestly, like, the way you drafted him, where he was drafted, he was drafted to be, like, a no-brainer.
13:36I don't care what the matchup is. You drafted him early.
13:39He's going to be a starter. And what we're finding is that that's not the case.
13:44I do think better days are ahead. Hopefully, they'll start running more.
13:47They'll start calling more design runs for him. They already call a lot, but hopefully they'll call even more design runs for Drake May.
13:54Hopefully, they get A.J. Brown back soon as well again.
13:57And, you know, against the Bills, they're going to have to throw.
14:01They're going to have to throw to keep up with Buffalo there as well.
14:05But, yeah, he's no longer a must-start quarterback. He's, you know, now probably a high-end quarterback, too.
14:10Like, he's now a QB, too. Like, I'd rather Tyler Shuck than him right now, obviously.
14:14That's about it. The way they're playing. Yeah. And so if you have Drake May and he's your only fantasy quarterback, you're
14:21going to need to get a quarterback on the waiver wire tomorrow.
14:24Real quickly before we move on to the next subject here, just some other injuries.
14:28Travis Achan left the game with a hamstring injury.
14:31Mike Evans carted off with a rib injury. He's going to be evaluated later today.
14:35Substation. Substation strikes again. So just a brutal injury day.
14:38We'll dive into all of it more tomorrow. We'll have more news.
14:42We'll go through waivers as well. The only other thing for the Patriots for me, guys, was neither of these running backs, Mo, were very effective.
14:49Like, they just couldn't get anything going offensively. Yeah, nothing at all.
14:53And when we're talking Drake May, like, everyone's wondering what's going on.
14:56And admittedly, it is shocking because I don't understand how you go from one vote away from being the league MVP to literally being a complete disaster.
15:04I've never seen a transition like that ever in my life for a young quarterback that had this trajectory of being an all-time great, really, for the Patriots.
15:12Third season, you go to the Super Bowl. And I think it's a combination of things.
15:17I think when we talk about schematically what defenses are doing against him last year, A, they do have a book on
15:23him, so that helps an entire offseason. And they're playing a lot more zone versus last year was a lot of man.
15:29And as a young quarterback, it's easy. Man coverage is basically backyard football.
15:33I got you. Receivers can win one-on-one. I had digs that I trusted.
15:37I had Keyshawn Boutte. You don't have both of those guys anymore.
15:40And now you lose A.J. Brown. So now, once I start making mistakes with all the pressure, then it becomes a confidence thing.
15:47And it just looks like the yips to me.
15:50It's a little bit like a golfer missing some putts.
15:53And then it spirals. And then it spirals. Yeah, I know.
15:56It's weird. And last year at the college level, it was Arch Manning because of all the pressure.
16:01And you're just missing easy throws. You're making these mistakes.
16:04You're trying to play hero ball, forcing these throws into coverage.
16:07We know he can make those throws. That's why I believe it's mental.
16:11But how do you snap out of it when you're in season now?
16:15Like, there's no break coming. So what do you do if you're a young dude that's got this problem?
16:20Yeah. I mean, if I had the answer, I'd be like, they'd pay me a lot of money as the sports psychologist.
16:26But I actually, I've had something similar coming off injuries where I felt like I wasn't right.
16:31It's a different scenario, obviously. What I would say, sometimes you just have to remind yourself of who you are.
16:37Like, some guys will watch their old highlights and be like, dang, okay, I really was that guy.
16:42This dude threw for 30-plus touchdowns last year, nearly won a Super Bowl, needs to realize I am that dude.
16:48I can get back to it. Yeah. Well, he needs help around him as well.
16:52Romney Dobbs has played bad. And the offensive line needs to play a lot better.
16:57In terms of the backfield, by the way, after Travion Henderson's big breakout, Ramondre Stevenson plays 67% of the snaps, 100% of
17:03third downs, and he got all three snaps inside the five.
17:06Travion Henderson, despite the fact that they were down big and they were down big for much of the game, Henderson plays only 35% of the snaps.
17:14Both guys devolve into just, I'll still have Ramondre ranked ahead of Travion Henderson next week, but Ramondre going to be more
17:21of a high-end flex than anything else. By the way, in that game, Trevor Lawrence trolled fantasy managers by kneeling on the one-yard line.
17:27Like, yeah, I mean, like, this is, you know, what he said about sliding at the one-yard line.
17:33It's actually funny. Yeah. It's funny to be that aware and sort of just, yeah.
17:37Friend of the show, Trevor Lawrence as well, saying, you know, I'm trying to help support.
17:42Friend of which show? He's a friend of this show.
17:45Okay. He's been on Fantasy Football Happy Hour record.
17:47That counts, right? Quote, he said, I don't know why he slid with eight minutes left, but he did.
17:53And he was asked about it after the game, and he said, quote, I'm trying to help support the Basial Tutin fantasy people out there.
18:00Appreciate it. We don't really call ourselves fantasy people, Trevler.
18:03What do we call ourselves? Fantasy managers. I don't know if I can do that.
18:07Cool people. Yeah. Superstars. Sexy. It's getting worse. Sexy beasts.
18:10Oh, wow. Okay. Sure. I think I'm going back.
18:13I think I'm a fantasy people. Okay. The good news is, and I much respect to Matthew Berry, because last week we were rehearsing.
18:20We weren't on the air. You missed nothing. But talking about Marcus Mariota and, okay, what's going to happen?
18:25You're going against the defending Super Bowl champs. No worries.
18:28So, A, congrats to your team. Thank you very much.
18:31Handle the commanders. Have a victory. Okay. Here we go.
18:34How'd you feel? What'd you see? And what does it mean moving forward?
18:38So, first off, what I think it means is what we talked about on Fantasy Football Happy Hour last week as well,
18:44which is that Marcus Mariota is not that big of a downgrade from Jaden Daniels, at least for the players we care about.
18:51You know, we talked about this all last week, that he had a 25% target share.
18:55He had a good connection with Terry McLaurin. Last year, 25% target share for McLaurin.
19:00That manifested itself against Seattle. That Mariota, I think what I said was, I said, Mariota, you should pick him up because
19:06I think he's going to be a good streaming quarterback.
19:09Not this week against Seattle, which turned out to be wrong, obviously.
19:12He was great against Seattle. But just that, like, he has performed very well when he has been a, when he's filled
19:19in for Jaden over the last couple of years, right?
19:22In terms of fantasy points per dropback over the past two seasons, Marcus Mariota's top 10 among quarterbacks.
19:27He's had nine starts with the commanders and he's had at least 15 fantasy points in six of them, three different 20-point games.
19:33Including this one against the Seattle Seahawks, where he had 20.4 through three touchdown passes.
19:38McLaurin had a 30% target share in this one.
19:40In the six games that he's played with Mariota, the last six games, he's averaging over 15 fantasy points per game.
19:46So I just think for our purposes, McLaurin and Stefan Diggs, especially when you look at the upcoming schedule, they play the
19:53Colts, that's the London game this week. Then they're home to the Giants at San Francisco, that'll be tough.
19:58But hey, they just beat the Seahawks, then they get a bye.
20:02So hopefully, I think Jaden might be back for that 49ers game, but as long as Mariota is the starting quarterback, good
20:08news for the skilled players that we care about in Washington.
20:11They didn't get a lot done on the ground.
20:14To my eye, Rashad White looks like the better running back than Ja'Cory Kroski-Merritt, but it's still too much of a committee to do anything there.
20:21Yeah, I mean, you're saying serviceable. That might be an understatement.
20:25Last nine starts, if we're going numbers, with him and Jaden, Mariota has a higher completion percentage, yards per attempt, and three more touchdowns.
20:32I don't know if, I don't know how good of a sign that is, especially when we're relying on Jaden Daniels to be the future of this franchise.
20:40But to your point, I mean, it's operation as usual.
20:43When you have Marcus Mariota, he's a veteran. He's seen every look possible.
20:46You just plug and play him, and he loves targeting Scary Terry.
20:50Yeah, and an unbelievable run on third down to keep that drive alive for ultimately for the commanders on the last drive that helped them win.
20:57So anyway, hail the commanders, hail victory. I thought about, I brought a jersey.
21:01I was going to put it on, but in the commercial break, it's the first show, and just whatever.
21:07I'll wear it again. You've got Austin Equi News.
21:09Yeah, friend of the pod. By the way, friend of the podcast, proud Fantasy Life investor, Austin Eckler.
21:15Expected to sign with the commanders as well. So one of my favorite people, signing with one of my favorite teams.
21:21It's great. Former ride or die. Austin Eckler as well.
21:24So shout out Austin Eckler. Shout out. Wait, why wouldn't you wear the jersey on the first day?
21:29No, I was gonna, but then like, it's back there.
21:32I was like, why do you keep looking behind him?
21:35No, because it's back there. It's behind the bar.
21:37And I was gonna, my plan was, I wanted to look nice.
21:41We got suits here. And like, I was gonna look nice for the first day.
21:45Yeah. The boss, and then, then I'm like, oh, well maybe I'll just wear it for the second hour.
21:51And then, I forgot, candidly. You know, and there's just a lot going on between the first hour and the second hour.
21:57Tomorrow, tomorrow. It's the first show and I'm all nervous and whatever.
22:00You don't seem nervous at that. Do I not?
22:03No, gosh, not at all. I think I am.
22:06All right, we have to take a break. You're killing it.
22:09After the break, we're gonna salute our Fantasy Weekend Warriors.
22:12I say put it on now. Otherwise, you have absolutely no plan.
22:15Well, that used to mean scrambling to figure out something or ordering takeout, but honestly, lately I've been keeping my freezer stocked with Omaha Steaks.

24:13One more time, gusto.com slash Barry. We're going to take a look at some of the biggest performances from the weekend.
24:19I mean, little Brocky Purdy, who'd have thunk it, crushing everyone around him, and Bo Nix, that's weird, on my bench there in the five spot.
24:27Everyone in between. I'll tell you who would have thunk it.
24:30Anyone that read my preseason love hate would have thunk it.
24:33Preseason Matthew? Anyone that, yes, anyone. It took a thousand years ago.
24:37He was on my love list this week. He was on my preseason love list.
24:41He was in my 100 facts where I talked about the fact that, by the way, since he became a starter, he's
24:47been a top six fantasy quarterback on a points-per-game basis.
24:50Did I or did I not ask Matthew, as a friend and a colleague, what to do?
24:55I don't care about your preseason article when I'm asking you ten minutes before the game starts.
25:00exactly. You and I are not going to be friends when this is all said and done.
25:05It's totally fine. I try to ignore your texts on the weekend.
25:09Look, Beetle, some of us have lives. Look, my point is, but you were asking me about Bo Nix, not about Brock Purdy.
25:15I told you to start Brock Purdy. Oh, I wish I had Brock Purdy.
25:19She doesn't have Brock Purdy. I used to have Brock Purdy.
25:22I know, that's the point. Well, yeah, you should have drafted better.
25:26I just love Brock Purdy. Good news. I will always love it for as long as he's in the league.
25:32You know who I do have, by the way?
25:34But all those quarterbacks, by the way, all those quarterbacks, generally, played bad matchups, right?
25:39Fair. Right. Right. You know, in terms of Gino, Jacoby Brissett.
25:42That was a good one, too. No, but what's positive is all those guys, other than Brock, we'll talk about Brock in
25:48a second, but all those other guys, A, those matchups, but just in terms of for the other players we care about, in terms of Jacoby Brissett.
25:56Jacoby Brissett is good enough to keep the other guys around him afloat, right?
26:00You know what I mean? Like, that's what we, Gino, like, Gino has looked, Gino might be the best Jets quarterback in, you know, quite some time.
26:08Ooh. That's slander and shade. He's probably for the past decade.
26:11Yeah. That's kind of crazy to say, but since when?
26:14He's better than the Rogers version of him. Oh, I don't count that.
26:18But he's had at least, but Brock Purdy, through three weeks, is the second best quarterback in fantasy football on a points per game basis.
26:25He's averaging over 30 rushing yards a game. He's had at least three touchdowns in every game this year.
26:30And, like, this is legit. I love it. Despite the fact that wide receivers keep falling off around him.
26:36Like, it's, yeah, I mean, I think this is, he gets you more points than he does with his legs.
26:42We'll see what happens with Mike Evans here, but as long as Brock Purdy is in a Kyle Shanahan offense, it's unbelievable.
26:48I mean, whatever, the hook and ladder to Debo Samuel was a thing of beauty.
26:52Like, no one ever likes Brock Purdy. They don't think he's sexy.
26:56Just whatever. But he's a, he's a top five fantasy quarterback.
26:59I think some people just, will always have a hard time reconciling the fact that he was drafted where he was drafted and now this guy.
27:07I don't know why we're way past that, but that's kind of why I love it.
27:11And he doesn't look the part, too. He never will look.
27:14Look at that. He's like a 15-year-old kid just got a moment on.
27:18There's nothing flashy about his game. He's not top five in any tangible asset, arm strength, speed on the ball, anything like that.
27:25But he just processes the game so well I think he's a legit MVP candidate.
27:29Tough schedule coming up. Home to Denver, at Seattle, then home to my commanders, my red-hot commanders.
27:34And then at Atlanta, I did do the costume change as Beatle requested.
27:38Look at that. I thought you announced it. Yeah, exactly.
27:41Because people didn't know. How do you feel? I think I look good.
27:45You feel like a winner? I think I look good.
27:47I love that. Yeah, exactly. Anytime you can sit next to a former D1 quarterback that looks like that and I am
27:54a grown man in a uniform like an a-hole.
27:56You're nailing it. Like, anyway. Okay, wait. Say this to Jeremiah Love.
28:00Yeah, anyway. Real quickly, wait. Before we move on to Jeremiah Love, I just very quickly, we'll talk about this more tomorrow,
28:06but Baker Mayfield is going to miss at least a minimum of three weeks with a dislocated thumb.
28:11Jalen Daniels time. Friend of the show, Baker Mayfield.
28:14Oh, wow. Yes. American hero. We love Baker Mayfield.
28:17I'm a big Baker Mayfield guy. I am too.
28:19Love me some Baker Mayfield. Awesome dude. Jalen Daniels is good too.
28:23Yeah. We love them all. For the love of everything holy, can we please get back on track?
28:28Sure. I'm the one getting yelled at. Good. Jeremiah Love.
28:31Keep us on track, you know. It's not my fault.
28:34Right. Okay, again, this was a good guy to have on your team.
28:38Going forward, is it going to get, continue this trend?
28:40Right. The top line is the important thing. Week one, 13 touches.
28:44Week two, 12 touches. Week three, 26. The Jeremiah Love breakout is here.
28:4826 for 90 rushing yards, also 19 receiving yards.
28:50He gets into the end zone as well with another receiving touchdown.
28:54He had more touches in week three than he in the first two games combined.
28:58By the way, double digit target share in every game this season.
29:02He's been targeted on 27% of his routes. So, Jeremiah Love, who there were some concerns in the preseason about the ankle and the presence of Tyler Algier.
29:10Tyler Algier was, you know, and this is a game that the Cardinals were in until the very end as well.
29:16And so, again, as I said, J.G. is good enough to keep the Cardinals in these games.
29:21And so, like, I don't know if the Cardinals are really going anywhere this year, but they're going to be good enough to be in games.
29:28They're kind of plucky and pains in the butt.
29:31And, I mean, Jeremiah Love, I think, is now a borderline top 12 fantasy, running back.
29:35He's now a borderline RB1, whereas before, early in the season with the Algier in the ankle, people were looking at him
29:42as like a high-end flex, as a low-end RB2 in terms of where he was drafted.
29:46So, it was great to see Jeremiah Love. We thought this was happening, but we didn't know if it was going to
29:53happen this soon for him to get this kind of a break, this kind of a workload.
29:58Yeah, I think it's clear that easing in period is over, given the amount of touches.
30:02And when you're paying a running back like that, most guaranteed money in the NFL, you better bet they're going to get him the ball.
30:10And he's talented enough to do so, regardless of that, a Matt LaFleur offense.
30:14I mean, they're going to be run first. They're going to set it up with play action.
30:19You don't have, you know, that quarterback that's going to want to throw the ball 35, 40 times a game.
30:24So, everything runs through him. And especially, they're scripting him easy catches out the backfield, like that receiving touchdown.
30:30They just put him out into the flat. All you have to do is beat a linebacker.
30:35He's going to do that every single time. Yeah, the fact that he's becoming a three-down back and that they're going to
30:41use him so much in the passing game, I think is exciting.
30:45Everyone that dropped to Jeremiah Love, you got a bargain.
30:47I'm very excited. Steelers, don't look now. Yeah. Things happened over the weekend.
30:51Jalen Warren. Your buddy Aaron Rodgers. Hey, hey, Ron.
30:54Did stuff. I mean, look, he had a couple of more throws.
30:57Like, man, that looks like it's going to hurt tomorrow.
31:00But, well done, sir. He had a couple of really good throws, no question.
31:04But, like, hey, this is what it looks like when you give Jalen Warren the ball.
31:09Rico Dottle was out of this game. So, Jalen Warren, just absolutely massive workload here.
31:13Played 90% of the snaps. Averaged over eight point, over eight yards per touch.
31:17Had three different plays of 20 or more yards.
31:20In games in the last two seasons, when Jalen Warren gets work, he crushes, right?
31:24He, when he's getting more than 15 touches over the last two seasons, he's averaging over 100 yards from scrimmage.
31:30No one played more snaps than Jalen Warren did.
31:33Over 20 fantasy points here on the road at Cleveland next week.
31:36I think that, I think if you are Mike McCarthy, and I think if you're Aaron Rodgers, this is the important thing,
31:42I think Jalen Warren now is, has to be in the rock solid, like, RB2 conversation.
31:47Like, I just, I don't know, yes, Dottle will, isn't going to fully lose his job, but when you see this kind
31:53of performance where he just proves he can be, like, an every down back, and it's a big win against a divisional
32:00opponent, like, I think more work is coming for Jalen Warren.
32:03Definitely the volume is number one for me, over 90% of offensive snaps, and then, I think also what's very promising is the pass catching.
32:10Yes. it went five, two, and three receptions. I think that's going to continue going up, especially, you mentioned Aaron getting hit.
32:17How do you not get hit? Well, we check the ball down to our running back, and that's Jalen Warren right there.
32:23He likes Jalen Warren too. That's the thing. There's a connection there from last year.
32:27Gainwell, obviously, now in Tampa Bay, so, Warren is the guy that, you know, and that's how you get skilled with, you know, with Aaron Rodgers' trust.
32:35No, Aaron Rodgers is the guy that's like, if he likes you, you're in.
32:39If he likes you, you're in. You're not. Yeah.
32:42Is that why you're not in? I don't think, I think it's mutual.
32:46I don't think either one of us care at all about each other, really.
32:50We don't know each other. I'm going to give it to that.
32:53Have you ever met him? Yes. Yes. He was cool once.
32:56Huh? He was cool once. He was cool? Yeah.
32:59I've met him once. He was very nice to me.
33:02Yeah, it was a long time ago. I've not met him, but I would love to.
33:06There you go. What would you say to him?
33:09Two to zero in terms of the name drops.
33:12What if he walked in right now? What would you say to him?
33:15I would just have, I don't know, I would have to pick his brain on something, Interesting, interesting.
33:21I think he's probably the greatest thrower of the football.
33:24So just like, he's a quarterback's quarterback. Sure. Every young quarterback looks up to Aaron Rodgers in a sense.
33:29Oh. Yeah. No, I was, I was, my quick Aaron Rodgers story very quickly.
33:33Absolutely. Sure. Love that. No, so I'm at an ESPY's after party.
33:37So this is back in the day. because the internet has that for me too.
33:41I think my ESPY's after parties were different than yours back in the day.
33:45You know, but what I will say here is so I'm at an ESPY's and I'm with my friend and so we're
33:51near Aaron Rodgers and I want to say hi to him.
33:54But he's talking with someone. He's, and I don't want to like interrupt.
33:58No. So you linger. Well, right. I don't know what to do.
34:02He's talking, like he's talking with a young woman.
34:04He's, he's single at the time. Yeah. I do added that.
34:08And so, and so I'm just like, well, I don't want to like interrupt, but I kind of wanted to meet him.
34:14So I'm just, yeah, so I'm lingering. So me and my friend are sort of talking and he sees me awkwardly standing there.
34:21Oh dear. But anyway, and so he could have done anything, but what he does is he just reaches out, holds out
34:27his hand and says, hey Matthew, I'm Aaron. That's nice.
34:30And I say, how do you even know who the hell I am?
34:34You know what I mean? Like I shake his hand, I'm like, Aaron, it's so nice to meet you.
34:39How do you even know who the hell I am?
34:42And he goes, he goes, I do nothing but watch ESPN all day.
34:46So he goes, and more documentaries. So anyway, whatever.
34:48I ended up having a very nice conversation with him.
34:51So yeah, he once did an entire day with us at Sports Nation.
34:55He was actually quite fun. It was a very fun, like he was once very like sarcastic and funny and like light.
35:01Light is the word I would say that he was.
35:04But anyway, I made the situation awkward and he unawkwarded it is basically what I'm saying.
35:09You probably helped him with his fantasy team. Maybe.
35:11I don't think he plays fantasy football. I don't think he plays fantasy.
35:15I think that particular year he was my number one fantasy quarterback too, by the way.
35:20I hope you told him that. I did. I'm sure I did.
35:23My God, it's worse. Garrett Wilson. Look, Jets fans, there's something here to be excited about.
35:28Again, we sort of talked about this preseason that as long as Geno Smith can be competent adjacent or like close to
35:34good, like we got something here and he is.
35:37Like, so, like, this Jets offense, now again, it's Detroit with like no secondary whatsoever and they're putting up points but like,
35:43I don't think this is crazy here. So, you know, for the season, Garrett Wilson has a 28% target share.
35:49He's wide receiver nine in utilization score which is a proprietary metric that my buddy Dwayne McFarlane over at FantasyLife.com came up
35:55with it, basically ranks all the different usage that leads to fantasy production but through three weeks he's caught 78% of his targets.
36:02He is, we've always said, we've always known Garrett Wilson is insanely talented.
36:06It's just, can we ever find somebody to get him the ball?
36:09And that's what the Jets have found with not just Geno Smith here for Garrett Wilson but Kenyon Sadiq breakout game, smoke?
36:16Yeah, yeah. Well, it's probably the most consistent and stable the passing game has been because even when Aaron was there, it was up and down.
36:23So that's all a guy that is so talented as Garrett is, that's all he needs really to take off.
36:29And then when you factor in AD Mitchell is out too.
36:32Yeah. So you're going to get even more targets.
36:35Yeah, and then Sadiq's going to take some of the coverage in the middle of the field.
36:40I mean, running back, Brees Hall being out, I think that does play a role now as well in terms of how
36:46we're going to cover those outside guys. But if Braylon can take over some of those volume running attacks, I think they're
36:52going to have a good opportunity to keep getting him the ball.
36:56We will talk about Kenyon Sadiq more tomorrow on the Waver Wire show, but 22% target share, 7 for 105, and a touchdown.
37:03Look the part. Breakout game. Again, absolute breakout game.
37:05Again, Frank Reich, the offense coordinator of the Jets, is somebody that has always been a guy that has liked tight ends in his offensive scheme.
37:13Mason Taylor banged up. I don't know how you go back.
37:16After this game from Kenyon Sadiq. By the way, welcome back, Brock Bowers as well.
37:20Huge game for Brock Bowers. The Sloppy Joes work for him.
37:23This is the Oscars and you're being played off stage.
37:26Okay. How about the guys that ruined everything this weekend?
37:29That's nice. They wanted to ask me if I would sell high on him and the answer is no.
37:35There you go. Why would I do that? Absolutely not.
37:38No. He's going to be the number one tight end in fantasy.

39:45The Sunday scary... Oh, wow. Hampton, Montgomery. I look very sad in this picture.
39:49Billy Neighbors and Brian Thomas Jr. You do look sad because those guys didn't have great weekends.
39:54That's your bearing. Marion Hampton, Dave Montgomery, Ted Aroma McMillan, Malik Neighbors and Brian Thomas Jr.
39:59Oh, he had our list of Sunday scaries. Looks like my whole team.
40:02Yeah. I have Hampton. So I'm kind of glad that we're starting...
40:06Oh, what? We have the same team? By the way, they threw a wedding ring on me.
40:11My wife will be very happy about that. Yeah, you don't wear one.
40:15I don't wear one. I don't... I've never worn any jewelry.
40:18Like, I don't wear a watch. I don't wear a neck.
40:21I just... I hate the feel of it. You're such a weird dude.
40:25I am. I've got lots of jewelry. Like, I just don't...
40:28I don't like it. But, I mean, like, all of my pictures on social media are pictures of me and my wife.
40:34You can't know me for any... Does she wear a ring?
40:37Yes, she does. See, that's not fair. You know what?
40:40If you're not wearing a ring, I'm not wearing a ring.
40:43Like, we're not... She's wearing a ring... She wears a ring because she wants to.
40:48Yeah, but that's not right. If you're marked, I'm marked.
40:51It's like a 50-carat diamond. I don't care if it's a 1,000-carat diamond.
40:54I don't even really care about diamonds. Anyway. Me too.
40:57Just seems to be trending in the wrong direction in terms of his usage, right?
41:02I mean, so, like, it just... The usage continues to go down.
41:05We saw a little bit more Keaton Mitchell in this one.
41:08Just a 3.5% target share in this one. He's not being used in the passing game.
41:13Played only 27% of third downs in this one as well.
41:1615 for 58. The offensive line has not been good for Omari and Hampton.
41:20I'm glad I did not double down on him as ride or die.
41:24I actually think he was better last year. when he was healthy as a ride or die than so far this year.
41:30It's been tough, you know, for the entire Chargers.
41:33Yeah. But just in terms of utilization score, just running back 27 on the season again.
41:38They're just not using him in a full-time role here on an offense that has struggled to move the ball.
41:43By the way, as we talked about both from the Chargers standpoint and just him as Mike McDaniel and his offense trying
41:50to figure out different ways to just jumpstart the Chargers.
41:53Here's our upcoming schedule, Mo. At Seattle. Home to Denver at Kansas City.
41:56Yeah. Then they've got a bye. Then they've got the Rams out of the bye.
42:01Like, it's a brutal schedule coming up. And so, Omari and Hampton, like, I am nervous that this is not just a blip.
42:07This is, I think Omari and Hampton is more of a touchdown-dependent flex than, or a low-end RB2 once we get to buys.
42:14But like, he's just, he's not getting, he's not getting, they're not scoring enough and he's not getting the usage enough.
42:20He's no passing game work either. I'm cautiously optimistic about Omari and Hampton, largely because he's on my fantasy football team.
42:26So I have no choice unless I want to trade him, but probably people don't want to trade for him at all.
42:33No. The reason is because I think he dominates the early downs in a hardball offense, so on paper, that should be money.
42:39Yes. Right? Like, they're a team that wants to establish the run and be physical with a really talented running back.
42:45I agree with everything you just said, except it's not working.
42:48Yeah, and the question's why. The interior of that offensive line is a problem.
42:53Yes. I mean, for the passing game and especially for the running game, you can't establish any kind of run game, especially
42:59when you go down early too, then you have to just throw the ball a bunch of times with Herbert.
43:05It's really tough. And that's the concern, right? Again, it's the schedule.
43:08Like, if they're playing some cupcakes, okay, but again, they're on the road at a very angry Seahawks team that just lost my commanders, by the way.
43:16Hail commanders, hail victory. And then Denver and then at Kansas City as well.
43:20I'm nervous about David Montgomery as well. So far this season, he's averaging 2.8 yards for carry.
43:25He's had one run, literally one run of 10 or more yards.
43:28Like, there's just no explosiveness to David Montgomery. And I don't know that we expected any of that, but I will say
43:35that, you know, David Montgomery was a preseason sleeper for me.
43:38I was just like, listen, he's gonna, he's gonna, you know, get a ton of work and it's not gonna be super
43:44efficient, but he's just, you know, this is a team that wants to run the ball, but then that just doesn't happen.
43:51He had the three touchdowns a week one. We were like victory lapping and it's awesome.
43:55But over the past two weeks with Nico Collins out of the lineup, under six fantasy points per game, they play Dallas next week.
44:02So it gets easy. The schedule gets easier. Home to Dallas at Tennessee, at Jacksonville, home to the Giants.
44:08So three of the next four don't scare you here.
44:11What a tease though, Look at the, right, look at the touches and the rushing yards here, Mo.
44:16Because it was a close game and they were in it.
44:19And so they were marrying the pass with the run.
44:22And when they got down early, to me, it all starts with the defense.
44:26And when they got in close, they gave it to Woody Marks too.
44:30Woody Marks vultured a touchdown in this one too.
44:32I mean, there you go. And then Stroud is top four in passing attempts so you're just running the ball a ton of times.
44:39Dimo's not going to be your pass catching back.
44:42You're out with Nico Collins as well. So that's going to shortchange your offense even further.
44:47I do think the one positive is you are playing Dallas next week.
44:50So he might be able to get back on track.
44:53Hopefully Dallas, a better matchup next week and then if they get Nico Collins back to help stretch the field and they
45:00just haven't gotten enough out of their passing attack to try to, so teams have been able to stack the boxes as well.
45:06They're just not really scared of CJ Stroud. So Montgomery is just kind of at the moment still a touchdown dependent flex,
45:13but I do think better days are ahead given the schedule coming up.
45:16I agree. Week one, everyone's like, yay! What happened?
45:19Receiver, 17 yards for Tedaroa McMillan. Anything to worry about here?
45:22Yeah, a little bit. I mean, you know, he had a 27% target share weeks one through two and then just 12%
45:29target share and this is a game in which Jalen Coker left early.
45:32You know, that's the concern right now. He has a better matchup next week with Detroit.
45:37Again, Lions can't seem to stop anyone, but he just, so far this season he hasn't been a massive target earner.
45:43So it's a little bit of a concern here on Tedaroa McMillan.
45:46I think, assuming he comes at the quad injury to Jalen Coker isn't serious, I think McMillan is clearly the number two
45:53wide receiver in the Panthers that you want to have.
45:56Like, you'd rather have Coker than McMillan and they're looking at Darren Waller a lot more than I would have thought, Mo.
46:02Yeah, Darren Waller's been balling. I did not expect that coming off of retirement.
46:06Waller the baller. That's not usually how it works.
46:09No, he's been a great asset. I wouldn't make too much of this week three performance.
46:13I think you're going against Denzel Ward largely, he's kind of shadowing him for some of that game.
46:19One of the best corners in the NFL. You're going against now a Detroit Lions defense that's banged up.
46:24You're missing a lot of guys. They've given up a lot of passing yards.
46:28Bryce Young has a great connection with T-Mac. They've known each other since high school.
46:33I've heard them talking about each other, always wanting to play with each other.
46:37Bryce is always trying to extend the ball vertically too, which I think is one of Canelo's strength and that's what T-Mac does.
46:43So I do think he'll bounce back. I would not be panicking at all with T-Mac.
46:48All right, fair enough. So the word disappears, not what I'm there.
46:51It's a bye, then it's at Philadelphia. So it gets, you know, it's going to be a little bit tougher.
46:57But yes, we believe in the talent, that's for sure.
47:00For sure. Like, I got to go to the Giants.
47:03Obviously, the breaking news, top of the show, J.J.
47:06McCarthy headed over to New York. Jameis Winston, probably not the answer here and I'm wondering what that means for neighbors and likely.
47:12Yeah, I mean, I think they'll still figure out ways to get the ball.
47:16I mean, some of this, I think, was like, again, it was super rainy and windy on the East Coast this entire weekend as well.
47:23Just brutal, brutal weather. They also didn't need to be that aggressive again because Tennessee was so inept for much of the game.
47:30You know, in the second half they started going, but I'm holding out hope for Malik Nabors.
47:35A, again, incredibly talented player. He's getting healthier and healthier.
47:38And also, you have to figure out, like, hopefully J.J.
47:41McCarthy, either Jameis Winston will get better or they'll turn to J.J.
47:44McCarthy and maybe he can get the ball to Malik Nabors.
47:47I like the matchups coming up the next two weeks.
47:50They play the Cardinals and then they're at Washington.
47:53Isaiah Likely's had at least a 23% target share in every game this season, by the way.
47:58He also had a quiet game. I'm not worried about Isaiah Likely.
48:01Again, you see it there on your screen, right?
48:04So, Scadaboo, three for 40. He got involved in the passing attack, which was positive to see.
48:09Nabors just five for 26. Mooney, two for 20, whatever.
48:12Isaiah Likely, two for 13. Again, tough day at the office for the pass catchers of the Giants, but I think better days are ahead.
48:19Yeah, I'm going to attribute that to the rain and wind game, especially with James coming off.
48:24Yeah, it's just so hard to get any kind of passing game established at that point.
48:29I do wonder what it's going to look like with J.J.
48:32McCarthy. I think when you get a new quarterback in a system, he's not going to be as familiar with the scheme.
48:38They're going to really simplify things and when you do that, you get your best guy at the football.
48:44So, I think there's just going to be one-on-one opportunities.
48:47They're going to stack the box. I think he's going to get really good looks out there on the perimeter.
48:52You just throw it up and let the big man eat.
48:56At least we hope, right? Right. Let him eat.
48:58Let him eat. Let the big man eat. I just looked up why we say Nor'easter and not Northeaster, so that's kind of fun.
49:05Don't look at my computer. Brian Thomas Jr. Yeah, you definitely do not want to see Beatles search history.
49:11Yeah, no, don't do that. No, there's no HR.
49:13We can do whatever we want. Oh, that's right.
49:16Brian Thomas Jr., is he still worth starting? I guess that's where I start there.
49:20Yeah, no, I don't think he's still worth starting, but I'm not dropping him yet.
49:24Look, it's clear that the Jaguars pass-catching pecking order is Parker Washington, Jacoby Myers, and then Brian Thomas Jr.
49:30Fine. Parker Washington's awesome having a breakout season very quietly.
49:33Trevor Lawrence, the traveler, looks awesome here, but look at what Brian Thomas has had to face, right?
49:38Denzel Ward, Pat Sertan, and then Christian Gonzalez in this game, and so Trevor Lawrence has done what you would expect, which
49:44is, okay, he's locked down, I'm going to go other places as well.
49:48Now, it doesn't get easier. I will say this.
49:51Next three matchups, DJ Turner, Quinian Mitchell, and Derek Stingley of the Texans before they get to a bye.
49:56So, DJ Turner are the Bengals, a very underrated corner.
49:59So, I don't know if it gets better anytime soon.
50:02So, I'm not necessarily dropping him, but I know that I'm counting on production from him anytime soon.
50:07But, I just, I don't know that it's all Brian Thomas' fault.
50:11I don't think it's his fault, but when you're the third option in any kind of offense, I mean, they're scoring a
50:17lot of points and they're doing well. I mean, it's just, there's a lot of room for concern.
50:22I'll put it that way. A massive talent. We saw where he did his rookie year, which is, why to me, it's a little bit shocking.
50:30I thought he'd have a bigger role in this offense.
50:33He probably did too. Yeah. He's probably not. That's why we talked about Parker Washington all preseason.
50:38All day yesterday. It was kind of fun. He's the truth.
50:41Sunday Scaries, that was it. We'll be back with Last Call after the break.
50:45We love an early look, Matthew, and here we go.
50:48Weaver, wire, early look. Yeah, so Ollie Gordon at one, Braylon Allen at two, Kenyon Sadiq at three, Marcus Mariota at four, and Sam Darnold at five.
50:56Obviously depends on what you need. As I talked about earlier in the show, if I needed a running back for the
51:02rest of the year, Ollie Gordon, although I do think Braylon Allen, if Brace Hall is going to miss just a couple
51:08of weeks, I do think Braylon Allen will probably be more effective over the shorter period of time.
51:14So it just depends if you need something in the short term or if you need something longer term as well.
51:20But you love Sadiq, Mo, as a player. Yeah, I mean, he was a beast at Oregon.
51:25They featured him in that offense over there. And then, Geno Smith is feeling comfortable putting the ball in 50-50 situations, which is rare as a rookie, right?
51:33Like some of those balls can get picked like that.
51:36Touchdown, he ran a beautiful route and just threw it up and he made a good play on it.
51:41I agree with you on the backs too. In the short term, I'll take Braylon because I'll prefer that offense over the Dolphins.
51:48Yeah, no question about it. And then if you need a quarterback, again, Mariota.
51:52Who doesn't? Well, by the way, if you have Drake May or some of the injured guys, you may absolutely need a quarterback.
51:58A dude off the street. I'll take him. Speaking of, Case Keenum last started a game 2023, and that's what we're getting tonight.
52:05So, Bears offense, what do you expect? I think they try to go run heavy with DeAndre Swift and Kyle Monungay, right?
52:11And try to take some pressure off of Case Keenum.
52:14Again, on the road at Philadelphia, it sort of makes sense.
52:18Now, will they be able to do it effectively?
52:20It remains to be seen, but I think that's the expectation here is, again, Philadelphia, the strength of that defense is those
52:27two corners who are so good as well. So, can they run effectively with Swift and Monungay, which, by the way, also keeps the Eagles offense?
52:34I think Jalen Hurts, I desperately don't need this.
52:37Monday Night Miracle, like, I had too many players leave, or injury.
52:40So, to survive in a guillotine league, I basically need Colston Loveland and DeAndre Swift to have the games of the lives.
52:46Okay, buddy. And I need Dontavian Wicks not to do anything tonight.
52:50Really? And Dontavian, Devontae Smith, but I will say, yeah, no, you want me to light my Wimby candle for you?
52:56Yeah, could you? Yeah. Be amazing. But I do think, I just, I think the Eagles passing offense will have their way
53:02with this Bears secondary, which has struggled so far.
53:05I agree. Dontavian is my bet of the day, actually.
53:08Over 41.5 passing yards. He's going against the highest man coverage rated defense in the entire NFL, which is the Chicago Bears.
53:14Yep. Which you might ask, why is that good?
53:17Because I think you're going to start to bracket Devontae on the other side, Devontae Smith.
53:21You're going to get a lot of one-on-one looks against their number two guys.
53:26It's a secondary that's banged up. Jalen trusts him.
53:28He's the only guy with size, too, out on the perimeter.
53:31So, especially when they get in the red zone, I like him to get some of those fade targets.
53:37Right now, he ranks 16th in route running against man coverage.
53:40It's a perfect combination. I'm going to go Tay Wicks.
53:43All right. Tay, you call the man Tay. I'm going with my ride or die.
53:47I mean, it's kind of obvious here. Devontae Smith, over 70.5 receiving yards is my best bet for tonight.
53:53So far this season, 33% target share for Devontae Smith.
53:56By the way, the Bears, to your point about the secondary, they're allowing over 16 yards per reception to opposing wide receivers.
54:02That is a bottom five rate in the NFL.
54:05So, yeah, give me some Devontae Smith over 7.5 receiving yards as my best bet for Monday night football as well.
54:11Listen, fun fact, Case Keenum 3-0 against Vic Fangio.
54:13I just read that. It's not like I just knew it.
54:16I don't want to pretend to be a poser, but that's a pretty good fact.
54:21Pretty good. So he's not scared. And by the way, listen, who knew you could read?
54:25Nobody. But sound analysis always a little wavy. There you go.
54:29Okay. All right, listen, happy hourless, and it's closing time, which means you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
54:35Monday Night Football through the NFL Zone right here on Roku to watch Eagles Bears.
54:40That's on ESPN. It's a great first show, if I do say so myself.
54:44I also want to make sure that we take a little moment here to appreciate the man that brought us together, Matthew Berry.
54:50Yeah, thank you, Matthew. Let's just see him in his element, shall we?
54:54Oh, no. This is me pre-show. I did not know they were recording this.
54:58Yeah, everything's on the record, dude. You gotta learn that.
55:01I'm just looking around. Who are you talking to?
55:04I'm looking around the set just trying to see, like, you know, final touches.
55:08But you're talking. You're like, having a console. Am I talking to myself?
55:11I might be. Yeah, what was that little, and why do you look so confused?
55:16Like, you've never been here before. Yeah. What is that?
55:19Well, I'm trying to figure out where, where specific things are.
55:22I was, so there's two different bars and I was trying to think, like, oh, and my mind should have put something
55:28else because we have two different bar signs. I'm surprised I didn't get it.
55:32Like, I also adjusted the glasses. we did. We could only show so much.
55:36Yeah. So, anyway, when I care about the set, I wanted, like, Mo's movie poster.
55:41I wanted to make sure that was in. I gotta, okay.
55:44That was an amazing quote. Yeah, exactly. Whatever. I have a lot of questions about that.
55:49Yeah, I mean, that's just me. My wife, my wife constantly, you know, says I'm in my own world.
55:54I do talk to myself often. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, this is just like.
55:58Just mumbling? As we get older, I think it happens.
56:01I'm definitely mumbling, sort of taking it all in, but I'm also taking it all in.
56:06It's like, it's kind of a. It's a big moment.
56:09It's a big moment for me. Like, it's the show, my name's in the show.
56:13I own the show. I know. Fantasy Life is producing the show.
56:16Thank you guys for coming along this journey with me.
