Brock Bowers

PositiveValue6:41

Matt Harmon and Josh Norris agree that Bowers is a high-upside target in tight end premium formats, with Norris arguing he should go no later than 5th overall. Harmon notes that even in a potentially bad Raiders offense, Bowers could reach a high statistical ceiling similar to a lead pass-catcher, citing Clint Kubiak's history of funneling targets to top options. Norris highlights that the Raiders' previous goal was to set an NFL record for targets and catches for Bowers, and he remains a 'pillar piece' for fantasy rosters.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeUsage16:50

Matt Harmon notes that Bucky Irving is part of a three-person backfield in Tampa Bay, creating uncertainty regarding his role and production in his third season.

Insight page
PositiveValue47:12

Matt Harmon has warmed up to Bucky Irving as a fifth-round pick, noting that while Kenny Gainwell may handle passing-down work, Irving is a superior runner behind a potentially top-five offensive line. Harmon dismisses Sean Tucker as a threat and believes Irving's tackle-breaking ability makes him a strong RB2 candidate.

Insight page
PositiveRole69:45

Matt Harmon is increasingly high on Bucky Irving, who appears to be carving out a role as a passing-down back, impacting the value of Kenny Gainwell.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

PositiveValue66:15

Matt Harmon is higher on Chris Rodriguez relative to his ADP than most, noting he is significantly cheaper than other backfield options in ambiguous situations.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveBreakout44:48

Josh Norris and Matt Harmon are high on Christian Watson, noting his evolution from a pure deep threat to a more versatile receiver. Watson increased his out-route usage from 7% to 35% and improved his success rate against press coverage to 79.1%. Norris considers him one of the best value picks at WR.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveBreakout17:18

Matt Harmon and Josh Norris are both high on Loveland, with Harmon ranking him in the same tier as Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. Norris suggests Loveland moves like a wide receiver and could potentially outproduce McBride, noting his strong finish to the previous season with 10+ targets in his final four games.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout20:13

Harmon is high on Loveland, noting he moves like a wide receiver and saw 10+ targets in his final four games. Harmon believes the team can build the passing game around him and argues he could potentially outproduce Trey McBride this season.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

NegativeBust67:21

Matt Harmon is lower on Cortland Sutton compared to his current ADP, suggesting he is not a player he is targeting in the 10th round.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveUsage39:14

Harmon likes Swift as a fourth-round pick, emphasizing his role as a passing-down back in a Ben Johnson offense. He believes Swift is often overthought by fantasy managers and is in a great position to succeed this year.

Insight page
PositiveUsage40:00

Matt Harmon notes that from Week 6 onward, the Bears optimized Swift's usage with outside runs, pitches, and tosses, leading to immediate production. Swift produced a run of 10+ yards on 13.5% of his carries, ranking 6th in the league. Harmon views him as a potential top-12 RB if Khalil Herbert misses time, making him a strong value pick.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveRole64:18

Dallas Goedert is a strong target in tight end premium formats. He serves as a primary goal-line option for the Eagles, often being the target on shovel passes when the 'tush push' is countered.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

PositiveBreakout62:07

Matt Harmon is high on Dalton Kincaid in the eighth round, arguing he has a higher ceiling than Travis Kelce or Isaiah Likely. Despite blocking concerns and health issues, Kincaid's underlying metrics, specifically targets and yards per route run, are extremely favorable.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeProjection26:41

Harmon is comfortable with Achan's current ADP (17th-18th overall) but expresses concern about his receiving floor under Malik Willis, who historically targets running backs less frequently than Tua Tagovailoa. He views Achan as a talented player but one whose environment has changed significantly.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveValue60:28

Matt Harmon suggests waiting on quarterback in drafts, noting that he was able to secure Drake Maye in the eighth round of their mock draft.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveValue52:04

Josh Norris views George Kittle as a value pick in the sixth round, comparing his 'freak' athletic profile to Derrick Henry. Despite injury concerns, Norris believes Kittle will be the most dependable pass catcher for the 49ers and expects his ADP to rise once he is fully cleared.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeValue61:08

JK Dobbins was selected at pick 7.9 in the mock draft, though the pick was criticized as part of a double-Broncos backfield strategy.

Insight page

Jake Ferguson

PositiveRole64:44

Jake Ferguson is an excellent target in the Cowboys' offense, which is projected to be a high-scoring unit. He is a high-scoring option even if he is the third or fourth option in the passing hierarchy.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveUsage20:45

Matt Harmon drafted James Cook 10th overall and remains optimistic about his role. Harmon notes that when asked about increased pass-catching opportunities, Cook responded with a smile, suggesting potential for an expanded role in the passing game.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeProjection53:49

Matt Harmon expresses concern regarding Jayden Daniels' outlook following the injury to Laramie Tunsil. Harmon notes that the loss of their best offensive lineman creates a downgrade for the entire Commanders' offense, making it harder to justify drafting Daniels as a high-end quarterback.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

PositiveValue56:08

Matt Harmon and Josh Norris agree that Jonathan Brooks' ADP should flip with Chuba Hubbard's. Harmon has moved Brooks up his rankings following injury news and suggests he is worth an early seventh-round pick, as the Panthers expect him to take over the RB1 role once healthy.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

PositiveValue67:14

Matt Harmon is high on Jordan Addison, viewing him as a value pick in the 10th round. He expects a bounce-back for the Vikings' offense and believes Addison is being drafted well below his potential as a WR3/4.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveValue66:02

Matt Harmon has bumped Jordan Mason up in his rankings to be inside the top 100, making him a target for those seeking running back depth.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeValue29:55

Harmon advises against taking Josh Allen as the first quarterback off the board in redraft leagues, arguing that taking two 'onesie' positions (QB and TE) early in the draft forces the manager to sacrifice depth at running back and receiver, which will be felt later in the season.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeBust42:25

Matt Harmon is significantly lower on Josh Jacobs than consensus, calling him a 'terrible pick' in the fourth round. Harmon cites multiple red flags, including current injury status and a history of injuries, though he acknowledges Jacobs remains a high-volume touchdown scorer near the goal line.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeProjection78:15

There is a disagreement regarding Justin Jefferson's value. While some have moved him out of the first round due to quarterback concerns, Matt Harmon maintains him as his WR6, citing his elite target and air yard percentages despite poor quarterback play last year.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeUsage69:32

Matt Harmon has bumped Kenny Gainwell down his rankings, noting he is primarily a pass-catching role player and is less valuable with the emergence of Bucky Irving.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveUsage22:26

Harmon ranks Walker as his RB9, slightly behind Henry, but favors him in some contexts due to the expectation of increased passing game usage. He views Walker as a solid second-round pick.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeRole64:18

Mark Andrews has a clear path to being the second target funnel in the Ravens' offense. While the hosts wish the training camp vibes were better, the tight end room is cleared out, making it a pivotal season for him.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeInjury24:00

Matt Harmon and Josh Norris discuss concerns regarding Puka Nakua, noting reports of him running into a sliding glass door and potential suspension risks, which adds volatility to his draft stock.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeProjection17:00

Josh Norris expresses concern about Quinshawn Judkins, noting that while he has individual talent, he is playing behind a struggling Cleveland Browns offensive line and is attached to poor quarterback play.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

PositiveBust74:33

Rashee Rice is facing skepticism due to poor training camp reports and his historical struggles against man coverage. While he has been productive, concerns about his air yards per target and the potential for the Chiefs to rework their passing game make him a risky asset.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeValue61:14

RJ Harvey was selected at pick 8.4 in the mock draft, contributing to a double-Broncos backfield roster construction that was questioned by the hosts.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveValue37:47

Harmon considers Laporta his favorite mid-round tight end, noting he maintained a 20% target-per-route rate before his injury last season. He argues that Laporta's breakout was suppressed by injury and views him as a great value in the fourth round.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveValue22:06

Josh Norris and Matt Harmon prefer Saquon Barkley over Ashton Jeanty, with Norris ranking Barkley 7th overall and Harmon 10th. They argue that the Eagles' offense provides a better environment for production than the Raiders' offense, and Barkley remains the focal point of the Eagles' rushing attack.

Insight page

Tank Bigsby

PositiveValue71:09

Despite negative reports about his pass-catching and goal-line usage, Matt Harmon remains high on Tank Bigsby, ranking him around RB25 and viewing him as a potential league winner if he secures the lead role in the Jaguars' offense.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeProjection50:13

Matt Harmon and Hayden are negative on Trevion Henderson relative to his ADP because he is currently not the starter for the Patriots. While he has upside if Rhamondre Stevenson misses time, Harmon notes he is not expected to start the first series, making his current draft position questionable.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeProjection15:46

Matt Harmon drafted McBride in the second round of a TEP mock, noting it was his first time drafting him this offseason due to the format's scoring. Josh Norris expresses skepticism about McBride repeating his 2023 production, noting he led all tight ends in routes run by a significant margin and that the Cardinals' passing rate is unlikely to remain as high. Norris also expresses concern about the transition from offensive coordinator Drew Petzing to Michael Thor.

Insight page
NegativeValue19:57

Matt Harmon expresses nervousness about drafting McBride in the second round, citing a coaching change from Drew Petsing to Michael Thor. While Harmon acknowledges McBride's role as a figurehead in the offense, he admits he would prefer drafting Cardinals receivers like Michael Wilson over McBride at his current ADP.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

PositiveSleeper37:16

Harmon highlights Kraft as a potential steal in the fourth round, calling him one of the best yards-after-catch threats in the league. He ranks Kraft in his second tier of tight ends alongside Sam Laporta.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveValue18:15

Matt Harmon remains high on Tyler Warren, noting his 46th overall ranking aligns with his Yahoo ADP. While Josh Norris was surprised by Warren being taken at 205 in the mock draft, both analysts view him as a significant prospect in the tight end landscape.

Insight page
PositiveUsage20:27

Harmon is extremely optimistic about Warren, noting he led all tight ends with 406 yards on play action last year. He expects Warren to inherit Michael Pittman's vacated role, specifically in RPOs and screen packages, and views him as a potential number one pass catcher for the Colts.

3:38It's going to be an absolutely electric time. But we got business to talk through here today.
3:43We have our first tight end premium mock draft here.
3:46We launched tight end premium here on Yahoo this week as a part of 29 days of fantasy because so much is happening here at Yahoo right now.
3:54One of which is these new tight end premium formats.
3:57Josh, big picture thoughts on tight end premium doing this draft.
4:01How'd you feel about it? Yeah. The number one thing with tight end premium this season is where does Brock Bowers go?
4:07Right. And I think there's two ways of thinking about this.
4:11Does he go with a third overall pick behind, you know, Jameer Gibbs and Bijon Robinson?
4:15Does he then go as the fifth overall pick behind Puka Nakua and Jamar Chase?
4:20Matt, I think the absolute latest he can go as fifth overall.
4:23What do you think? Yeah, he went third overall in this draft as we will talk about here.
4:29I do think fifth overall probably makes a lot of sense.
4:32I mean, I'm still taking the two running backs, Gibbs Robinson for sure.
4:36Puka went ahead of Jamar Chase here. That'll be an interesting one to talk about when we get into the first round.
4:42Yep. But I would take I would take Bowers over Puka and I think he kind of mixes in right there to me.
4:49Yeah. And I think the big reason why and I don't mean to jump ahead in topics, but like.
4:55Like Brock Bowers is one of those players in just a normal fantasy league that can break it for you, right?
5:01That can be the league winner. Sure. We go back to, you know, the 2020 season for Travis Kelsey and look that's
5:08the peak what we're chasing here, right? But he scored what six points or five points more than the tight end to
5:14that year and about eight or nine points ahead of the tight end five.
5:18And like Matt, how many fancy matchups come down to eight points a week?
5:23And that's the tight end five. That's the same in tight end 12 that we're talking about here.
5:28Now, obviously the Las Vegas Raiders in 2026 are very different than what the, the 2020 Kansas City Chiefs that went 14 and two and were fantastic.
5:36We're the best offense in the league. But with that said, with what we saw with Clint Kubiak and what he did
5:42in Seattle in terms of identifying his best pass catcher and in heavier personnel sets of funneling everything in the direction of the lead pass catcher.
5:50I know that they are wide receiver and tight end labels and those are different, but, uh, looking at that wide receiver
5:57room, he most likely will do the same thing here with Brock Bauer.
6:01So I'm not saying he's going to be exactly JSN, but maybe he approached it.
6:05Maybe it is that simple here, Matt. I think it's about 89% that simple.
6:09If I could put a totally random number on it.
6:12Um, I think he won't. Yeah, right. Put up Jackson Smith-Njigba numbers.
6:16Talked about that yesterday with Nate on the tight end preview, how that's just almost, this is almost kind of impossible for him to do it.
6:23And especially in the ways that JSN did it.
6:26But at the same time, one thing I, I thought I was going to be kind of over this, but Oh, what,
6:33what bothers me is that we are doing the same thing with the Raiders that we did last year.
6:38Uh, and again, Nate and I did an episode on this last year.
6:42We're going to do it again, I think next week, which is essentially just looking at the teams where offensive projections and
6:49ADP are most out of whack, where you've got multiple guys going.
6:52Early in ADP versus, uh, where these offenses are projected to be.
6:56The Raiders were a screaming red flag to me last year because of that, because we just had two guys going in the first two rounds.
7:04We're pretty much just doing that again. So how much better do they have to be Josh for, I mean, I guess
7:10the gente thing aside, but maybe for Bowers to like, can they be one of the five worst offenses in the NFL?
7:17And he also reaches that statistical ceiling. Yes, I, I think they can now.
7:21I'm not saying again, he's going to be, I'm gonna say Brown or Jackson Smith and Jigba.
7:26Sure. But I think from like a, a pure pass catching standpoint, we're only talking about two players here and like even
7:33bad offenses can at least get one there if not two.
7:36So now I, I hear what you're saying. I also would add, we trust Clint Kubiak way more than at this point
7:42we would have trusted Chip Kelly and you know, the, the environment that was there last year.
7:47And what has Clint Kubiak done in every single spot that he's gone to, uh, turn those offenses into explosive downfield passing groups.
7:54And that was the New Orleans saints, which no one thought that would be possible at the time with Derek Carr and then with Seattle.
8:02And that's not how they reviewed heading into that season either.
8:05And like he transformed them into like, I think 10th and second in terms of explosive 10 plus yard gains out of that offense.
8:12So I hear you like, I am more hesitant to do that with like the Arizona Cardinals, for example, who have four
8:19picks in the top 95 overall versus the Raiders.
8:21And we had Ryan Paganetti on our show who worked for the Raiders last year.
8:26And he brought up that their goal was to set an NFL record for targets and catches in NFL history for Brock Bowers.
8:33And guess what? Through three quarters, it was looking pretty good.
8:36Yeah, the dude had like 120 receiving yards and then, you know, had the PCL injury and the season fell away.
8:42So again, especially in your normal leagues, I think Brock Bowers could be like that pillar piece.
8:47And then we get to tight end premium. I'm all for taking him at the third or fifth overall selection.
8:53All right. We kind of jumped ahead to the Bowers discussion, which is mostly the most.
8:58No, you're good. The mostly the thing that is interesting in the first round, the rest of the picks are kind of are what they are.
9:06But before we jump into the just the round by round, I did want to just bring up our two teams here
9:12because we probably don't do this enough when we go through these mock draft exercises.
9:17Last one that the Boone and I broke down, I hated my team.
9:21Didn't like the way it turned out. And honestly, I've kind of pivoted my strategy mostly because of some of these early mocks.
9:27I didn't like this one. I feel pretty good.
9:30I feel pretty good about how these things have gone.
9:33What do you do? Because we kind of took similar strategies here, Josh.
9:37If just from an overall perspective, we both came away with three receivers in the first six rounds.
9:42We are both kind of and look, obviously, in a normal situation.
9:46This is this is about the first time I've taken Trey McBride, who I took in the second round here.
9:52I have not taken Trey McBride a single other time this offseason through any fantasy draft I've done.
9:57So this is the first time I did it.
10:00Felt pretty good about it because of the tight end premium format.
10:03But because of that, then I had to sacrifice that running back two spot waited a little bit longer than I would have wanted.
10:10And we both end up with the two classic like, well, we got to grab a running back two guy here at
10:17some point, which is Bucky Irving and Quinchan Judkins.
10:20And so I felt pretty good about how this team came together, was able to wait around till the eighth round to
10:26grab a quarterback, which was Drake May, which felt like a huge coup.
10:30Probably is only going to happen in a draft full of industry bros.
10:34How did you feel about the way it played out for you?
10:38You're right. Our drafts are very similar outside of kind of like exchanging round two and round six and kind of flip flopping those.
10:45I love my draft. You know, anytime I can exit no matter what, you know, the settings are with Amon-Ra St.
10:51Brown Brown, Kenneth Walker, the third and Malik neighbors in the top three rounds.
10:55Like I am feeling pretty. And we'll talk about, you know, neighbors and some of those round three picks as we go along here.
11:02And even Garrett Wilson. Now, as you said, when we go through the strategy of just overall drafting, you're not going to
11:09feel perfect about every single one of your positions at the end of your draft.
11:13And there's going to be a weakness somewhere for me and for you.
11:17It's probably the uncertainty at that running back two spot.
11:20Like you have Bucky Irving. I have Quinshawn Judkins.
11:23You know, we can pick apart Bucky as, hey, it's a three person backfield.
11:27What exactly is he going to be in year three with the Bucs?
11:31For me, it's Quinshawn Judkins. Awesome individual talent. He's also Cleveland Brown offensive line going through it.
11:36And he's attached to those awful quarterbacks. So then, you know, you follow it up with, for me, Bill Krosky-Merritt.
11:42You follow it up with Rico Dowdle and Chris Rodriguez.
11:45So at the end of the day, we are hoping to also have our eyes peeled for the waiver wire.
11:51And we just like turn that, you know, running back two spot into some steady production as the season goes along while
11:57feeling great about all of our other picks. The only thing I didn't really like about my team was that I have
12:04two boring veterans as my bench receivers. Michael Pittman, Jacoby Myers.
12:07Like I'd probably prefer one higher upside swing at some point there.
12:11But my upside swing was Marshawn Lloyd, who I took as the last pick before our fearless leader, Jason Kavaka, makes me
12:17take a kicker and a defense in these last two rounds in order to, I guess, make the whole thing come together.
12:24But yeah, I felt pretty good about this team.
12:26Let's get into the round by round breakdown here and get into the first round.
12:31We had the Brock Bowers conversation, but the rest of the first round kind of went to plan here.
12:37Jameer Gibbs first overall, B. Sean Robinson, Brock Bowers, Puka Nakua, Jamar Chase, Amon Ross St.
12:41Brown to you, Jackson Smith and Jigba, Christian McCaffrey, Jonathan Taylor.
12:45I took James Cook 10th overall, CeeDee Lamb, and then Saquon Barkley to round out the first round.
12:50Hopefully you guys have, number one, hopefully subscribe to the channel.
12:53For God's sakes, if you haven't already, if you're watching the video, subscribe to the channel.
12:58And if you haven't, make sure you do that.
13:01And then check out the interview that I had with James Cook where he talked about, maybe he didn't talk about, I
13:07intimated, like, are you going to be catching more passes this year?
13:11He refused to talk about it. But he did have a big smile on his face and said, you know, see you on Sunday.
13:18So we'll see what that means. I felt pretty good about James Cook 10th overall here.
13:23Anything else from the first round stand out to you, Josh?
13:26You know, on almost every single platform out there, Ashton Gentey goes ahead of Saquon Barkley or even sometimes James Cook on these platforms.
13:33I love to see, you know, us take Saquon Barkley ahead of him here.
13:37I can't even remember where he goes in round two and we'll talk about that in a moment.
13:43But I am one that's firmly in the camp that Saquon should be going ahead of Ashton.
13:48And it's kind of what we talked about at the start where, you know, the Eagles, albeit their shortcomings and their questions
13:54are just, you know, a better offense than what the Raiders are projected for.
13:58And at the same time, to me, everything has to get better for the rushing attack in order for the Eagles passing game to be good.
14:06And Saquon Barkley is still the figurehead of that.
14:09And I think you can get back to not exactly what it did in 2024 where he broke fancy leagues, but really
14:15make good on his like even 12th overall selection here.
14:18I have him 7th overall in my rankings. I have him 10th.
14:22I have Gentey 12th overall. And Gentey's a guy that I've kind of had hovering around somewhere between 11, 12-ish.
14:28But Barkley, definitely, the more you look at him, the more appealing that that gets.
14:32Also, you know, I've bumped someone down into the second round who we'll talk about here that went in the second round on this one.
14:40But yeah, for the most part, I think the only other interesting thing was Hayden took Puka Nakua over Jamar Chase, which I don't know.
14:47Then he has to see today that Puka ran into a sliding glass door, Michael Scott style at the Michael Rubin party or whatever.
14:54And also might get suspended. And also might get suspended.
14:57You know, one positive offseason headline Puka Nakua challenge.
15:00That would be something. But other than that, pretty standard first round here with the Brock Bowers tight end premium thing noted.
15:07Let's get into round two here, which also was pretty interesting.
15:10Starts off with Drake London, Eric Froton, our college fantasy football lead analyst.
15:14Went to Saquon Barkley, Drake London on the turn there.
15:17Then Justin Jefferson. I took Trey McBride. Producer Colin follows that up immediately with Colson Loveland.
15:21Ben on our editorial team takes Tyler Warren right away.
15:24So we're going tight end heavy here. Then it's Ashton Gentry, Kenneth Walker to you, Amarian Hampton, Chase Brown, Derek Henry, Devon H.
15:31And George Pickens. I think the interesting thing to talk about is this three tight end grouping here.
15:37Obviously, look, not everybody watching this video or listening to this is going to play tight end premium.
15:42Totally understand that. So in just a regular sense, Josh, how much of a gap do you think exists, if at all,
15:48between Trey McBride, Colson Loveland, Tyler Warren? Great question.
15:51Like this is the bulk of the show. I feel like is this run of tight ends because once the second one
15:58goes, it's almost like the floodgates are going to open in your tight end premium league.
16:02I am like you that where he normally goes around the 212 with Trey McBride is way too rich for me.
16:09I mean, for one thing, Matt, I think he ran 120 more routes than the next closest tight end last season.
16:15That is over three games worth basically of extra time played.
16:18He had like that. I think he's got a 60 route lead between him and the number two just overall route player
16:25last year, which was his teammate Michael Wilson. Just to put that into context.
16:29So that's that's nuts. That is not going to happen again, even if this team, you know, is going to go three and 14.
16:36Like I just do not see them passing at the exact same rate where they were, you know, last and neutral or excuse me.
16:43Yeah. Fast and neutral drop back rate. I should say highest and neutral.
16:47I never know how to do that when they're on the polarids.
16:51You know what I'm saying? Um, I just don't think he can repeat what he did last year.
16:56Now, with that said, in this format, it gets interesting, right?
16:59Like it's so difficult to rewire my brain where this scoring, despite being lower on him, how much does that matter in
17:06comparison to the Ken Walker, the third chase Brown, Amar and Hampton tier that I absolutely love.
17:11And then you get to like, I actually like Colson Loveland and more optimistic about him just overall when I get him in round three.
17:18But immediately taking the 204 and the 205, Matt, I would love your piece on this.
17:23Like, is that just, hey, I'm scared, terrified to leave without a tight end?
17:27Or is it warranted that these three guys should be ahead of legit options that might score 20 or 21 fancy points
17:34per game at the running back position? Well, I'll tell you just from the perspective of taking Trey McBride, it was a
17:40little bit of that fear based, uh, like not wanting to be caught up in the run here because I actually am okay.
17:47Just from a redraft standpoint, I have Colson Loveland in the same tier as Trey McBride and Brock Bowers.
17:53I mean, I think he absolutely. So I was, you know, it's aggressive to go right away into that and, and, you
17:59know, not wanting to miss out on it. The Warren pick was the one where I kind of was scratching my head
18:06a little bit because I think that's, there's a teardrop between, uh, Loveland Warren and all of those other guys.
18:12Uh, I still am pretty high on Tyler Warren overall.
18:15I have him 46th overall, which is just right in line with his overall Yahoo ADP 47th in a traditional format.
18:21So I'm, I'm in line with ADP. I'm just kind of ahead of ADP on Colson Loveland essentially, who is a 40th
18:28overall player in Yahoo ADP this week. Um, I, I think that the, I think the Trey McBride thing is like, there is regression baked into it overall.
18:36Like even where he goes in a typical league, Josh, like 26 overall, there's some regression already baked into that cost, but maybe not enough.
18:43But in this, in this format in particular, I think he's going to rack up receptions.
18:48I'm okay with taking him in this spot. And I think it just ultimately, I, yeah, clearly.
18:53I mean, listen, bud, just because I did something doesn't mean I'm okay with it.
18:58That is a theme in these mock drafts here overall, but I'm, I'm good with him here at this spot.
19:04The other two guys, I'm probably more partial to Colson Loveland as a second round pick as opposed to Tyler Warren.
19:10So here's my thing. I truly do believe. And even if I'm not drafting a ton of Ashton Gentry this season for
19:16what I previously mentioned, because he typically goes in round one, I'm not ending up with him.
19:21I still think that like Gentry, Ken Walker, Amarin Hampton, Chase Brown have like league winning upside.
19:27Again, when you get to like wins above replacement and all this type of stuff, it's all the backs that get 20
19:33or 21 half EPR points per game. Chris McCaffrey did it last year and he was like three wins above replacement.
19:39I mean, that takes you what to a nine and five season versus a, you know, five and or six and whatever season.
19:46Right. It gives you three extra wins. So my point in that is I just don't know how I can take these
19:53tight ends ahead of those guys when I feel like they have that potential.
19:57I hear you on Trey McBride and how he's so much of a figurehead in this offense.
20:02I will add, I am nervous going from Drew Petsing, who is from the Kevin Stefanski and Norv Turner tree to now Michael Thor, who is good.
20:10Like I know you are Cardinals curious, maybe to your detriment.
20:13Um, and I love Colson Loveland. I can easily make the case that Colson Loveland is going to out produce Trey McBride this year.
20:20I mean, Colson Loveland moves like a wide receiver, how he got, you know, 10 plus targets in like the final four games.
20:27They can build the passing game around him. And I actually love Tyler Warren.
20:31I was hoping to get Tyler Warren in round three in this format.
20:35And him going at 205, uh, blew my brain.
20:38Let's put it that way. Yeah. I mean, this, again, this is kind of breaking my brain because in no other circumstance,
20:44am I clicking Trey McBride in the second round?
20:47That that's my, that's my thing here. So it's a little bit tough to, to, to defend it.
20:53Generally. I think ultimately just, again, if I, in the tight end premium format where you're getting the extra bonus at, at
20:59the tight end spot and, and for any tight ends overall, I'm just really not trying to get into my third tier of tight ends.
21:06Which for me is, you know, Harold fan and Kyle pits.
21:10They're fine, but I, I'm more comfortable taking Trey McBride in round two and sacrificing at the running back for me to
21:16spot and maybe some early round receivers as opposed to what I'm sacrificing later on.
21:21Um, I will get to where these other tight ends go.
21:24I just felt the bonus there boosted it for the tight ends, but make no mistake.
21:29I am nervous about McBride. Like I am much more in a traditional league, much more willing to take both of the
21:35Cardinals receivers at, or for Michael Wilson, even above his ADP, as opposed to taking Trey McBride where he goes.
21:41Um, so any, any kind of go ahead. Final point on this.
21:45You and I are both in on Trey McBride as a round two pick and tight end premium.
21:50Like how early if you were at the turn, let's say you were at one 12, two Oh one.
21:56Would you have taken Trey McBride ahead of Drake London or Justin Jefferson?
22:00Uh, no, probably not. So this is kind of the tier break for you.
22:04It was between Jefferson and like this glut of running backs.
22:07Okay. And then I guess my next point is Colson Loveland should also be around to pick, but maybe for me, it
22:14would have been after these running backs. Or do you think it should have been right next to Trey McBride?
22:20I think I would have taken Ashton Gentry and Kenneth Walker, who I have as my running back seven and eight.
22:26I think I would have had them ahead. Actually, I think I would have also, by the way, this is where I wanted to talk about Kenneth Walker.
22:34I think I might've taken Derek Henry ahead of Colson.
22:37Okay. And I think I, I think I probably would, I still have Derek Henry ranked as my running back.
22:43Excuse me. I have Walker nine and Derek Henry running back eight.
22:47I just see no reason why like Derek Henry, other than his age is going to fall off.
22:52Like there's no indication that the team is expecting it, that there's no indication statistically last year.
22:57I think he is my favorite second round pick this year because it's just, he fits every format.
23:03If you went receiver in the first round, you can get a guy that, I mean, again, other than I really, I
23:09realized like the slow wheels of time stopped for no one.
23:12And yet this guy is built different, you know, than every other human being that's played his position in NFL history.
23:19And the team, I like the way the offense sets up again.
23:22I think he didn't show any signs of decline last year.
23:25So to me, he's a guy that I would have maybe taken above Colson Loveland as well.
23:30Can I give you one crazy stat? It's obviously from the great retreat bar.
23:35For Derek Henry, only nine other players in NFL history have as many seasons with double digit touchdowns.
23:40And here's the nuttiest part. If he does it again, which by the way, what he had 16 touchdowns last year, so
23:47he should get double digit ones again if he stays healthy.
23:50He joins a group of only Jerry Rice, LaDainian Tomlinson, Emmett Smith, and Randy Moss to do it that many times.
23:56I mean, that's some of the Mount Rushmore players in NFL history.
24:00And then we add Derek Henry onto that group.
24:02I mean, the only reason I have Ken Walker ahead is I actually think K9 is going to be used more in the passing game this year.
24:10And Derek Henry is still, despite as much as I love him, kind of a slow zero in that area.
24:16Yeah, I mean, I have him, Henry 13th overall and Walker 14th overall.
24:20So it is splitting hairs to me. And I buy the narrative on the passing game usage as well for Kenneth Walker,
24:27which is a big reason why he's been like a guy that I'm in line with him as a second round pick here.
24:34Anything else in the second round stand out to you or should we hit the third round?
24:39Yeah, I mean, if we both believe that Trey McBride and Colson Loveland should be round two players, does that mean Tyler
24:45Warren, who I actually think is going to inherit a lot of the Michael Pittman stuff that is gone?
24:51If we talk about RPOs and glance routes and all that type of stuff, when you go back and watch this Colts
24:57offense, when they need an easy button, when they need the split flow action or off play action or any of that
25:04stuff, Tyler Warren, and he also might be like their best screen receiver.
25:08Like I think Shane Sikin loves dialing up specific plays to Tyler Warren.
25:12And I am extremely optimistic about Tyler Warren this year.
25:15But I think even in Titan premium, the earliest I would probably take him is like the 301, like the 25th overall player.
25:21So this was a bit of a reach. But at the same time, you can talk me into Alec Pierce missing time,
25:28Josh Downs not being a great outside wide receiver.
25:31Maybe if they sign Keenan Allen or not, and like Tyler Warren is the number one pass catcher for this team on
25:37a team that, you know, I trust Shane Sikin and him putting up yards and points out there on any given week.
25:44I'm with you on Tyler Warren and his usage.
25:46Again, stat from yesterday's show with Nate, he had 406 yards on play action last year to Tyler Warren, which is number one among all tight ends.
25:54There is definitely an argument that they're going to be.
25:57I think it's almost certain they're going to be a worse offense than what they were.
26:02They were number one with Daniel Jones. Exactly. They were on a historic pace.
26:06So things might not just be running as pure with the Colts this year, which, again, can impact a guy like Tyler Warren in that play action usage.
26:15But I think you're kind of too far in the weeds if you're docking Warren at all because of that.
26:21He's an ascendant young player. A lot of easy button touches.
26:24I think you could honestly make an argument, Josh, in the full point PPR for the tight ends, and they're the only ones getting it.
26:31He could scam his way to a lot of usage there as well and be a pretty good pick.
26:37Apparently, a lot of the YouTube comments are saying we are sleeping on Devon Achan.
26:41I mean, I'm kind of just fine with where Achan goes.
26:45He is the 18th overall player in Yahoo Drafts this week.
26:48Excuse me, 18th overall in my rankings, 17th in Yahoo Drafts this week.
26:52So I'm kind of fine where he goes. I'm not saying fade him in the second round.
26:57He's just somebody more like, I'll let the board dictate it to me as opposed to going over the skis for him.
27:04Yeah, so last year, Devon Achan was my favorite round two pick.
27:07I loved him, relentlessly drafting him. So it hurts for me to have him 18th overall, even if it's right in line
27:14with ADP, because I actually think he is one of the more unheralded superstars in the league.
27:19People view him as maybe just an out-in-space speedback, but you watch the Dolphins, and he is breaking and running between the tackles at a high, high rate.
27:27My thing comes down to Malik Willis. Like, Malik Willis had the highest scramble rate in the league when he was with the Green Bay Packers.
27:35He only targeted running backs 10% of the time with the Green Bay Packers.
27:39We know Devon Achan was fourth in targets per game last year and fourth in receiving yards per game.
27:45And a Mike McDaniel offense, a Mike McDaniel offense that has done fantastic work with running backs over the last three or four years.
27:52So as much as I love Achan as an individual talent, I do think that this environment is different.
27:57Even if the offensive line has improved, I think being attached to, you know, Bobby Slowick and Malik Willis, who I like as a fantasy pick.
28:05But I just don't know from a receiving standpoint if he's going to be friendly here to Devon Achan because that is a significant part of Achan's value.
28:13Yeah. And just the Tua part of this can't be – he's going from the polar extreme here of a guy that
28:20was so check down sensitive and so check down heavy to Malik Willis, who likely when they get into those fourth quarter
28:27trailing situations is just going to take off running.
28:29Now, again, I think there's a lot of appeal to Achan overall in this offensive line if it comes together, especially that
28:36left side could really be pretty formidable. And Bobby Slowick was on staff last year, so hopefully he's not just going to
28:42come in here and think, well, the one thing we got to do is really remake this run game completely after we
28:49were doing some pretty good stuff at the end of last year.
28:52So, again, I think we're in line with ADP on Achan as kind of a second round pick, but someone that we're
28:59going to kind of let the board fall to us here.
29:02And by the way, when you're taking three tight ends in the second round, which is abnormal, I understand it's just the difference between the two formats here.
29:11You got to kind of remember that as you're looking at the overall board here.
29:15All right, let's take our first quick break. When we come back on the other side, we continue to go round by
29:22round here through our most recent mock draft. We'll get into that right after this.
29:26All right, we're back. Josh, let's get into the third round here.
29:30Spoiler alert, folks. I think this is a pretty inoffensive round to me.
29:33Yeah. Not a lot of nits to pick. On this one, it goes Brees Hall at the first pick.
29:39AJ Brown, Kyron Williams, Nico Collins, Jeremiah Love, Malik Neighbors, Devontae Smith, Chris Olave, Josh Allen, T.
29:44Higgins, Zay Flowers, Javante Williams. Not a lot to get offended by here.
29:48As I mentioned, a lot of good football players here in the third round, Josh.
29:52Okay. Can I pick one net then? In? Pick it.
29:55Your usual redraft league. You never, ever, ever, despite how good Josh Allen is in one quarterback leagues, want to be like the first quarterback off the board.
30:04Because your team just like feel worse about it.
30:06Right? Yeah. Especially when you draft with like, you know, these are the writers because they just like push and push and push quarterbacks down.
30:14So for producer Colin to select Josh Allen, 33rd overall here and also a tight end premium when we also are going
30:20to value that position probably more than quarterback two.
30:23That's some early stuff. Yeah. Here's the thing. Two things, actually.
30:26One, welcome to Yahoo, Josh. It's kind of a tradition here on the Yahoo fantasy forecast.
30:31Pretty much if you're going to do a mock draft recap and you're not going to take a couple shots at producer Colin's team.
30:38He deserves it. Yeah. He deserves it. You're really not doing it right.
30:42Secondly, I've said this a lot during the course of the show so far.
30:46The worst thing that you can do this year is take two onesie positions early.
30:51And he obviously took Colson Loveland, even in a tight end premium.
30:54It's fine. Second round. Colson Loveland. Okay. Then following up with the third round, Josh Allen, you're going to pay for it later.
31:01Okay. And guess what? Producer Colin is going to pay for it later.
31:05I'll give him credit. I'll give him credit. Rounds out his, you know, receiver room pretty nicely.
31:10We'll get into that. But the running back two spot is beyond problematic.
31:14So you're going to pay for it. It would not shock me at all, Matt, if producer Colin has his own full
31:21screen graphic of his team that we'll probably look at a bit later on.
31:25Wouldn't shock me at all. But yeah, you pay for it when you take a, and I like Colson Loveland and I like Josh Allen.
31:32It's just, you can't do both in back to back rounds and feel great about your roster at this point.
31:38Because like you and I both took quarterbacks a bit later on and we can paint a pathway and, you know, paint
31:45a picture of, oh yeah, that guy's going to be a top five quarterback on top of this too.
31:50So yeah, tough, tough scene for Colin, but you know, he'll get him next time.
31:55Maybe. All right. The other intriguing pick Josh in the third round though, is you with Malik neighbors at wide receiver 11.
32:01Um, it feels like it just a weekly kind of, maybe not even weekly, like bi-weekly, tri-weekly update about like as neighbors
32:08turns, you know, he didn't, he didn't participate today, but today, August 13th, he's out with the non-contact Jersey in team drills.
32:14Yep. So Josh Malik neighbors wide receiver 11 over, you know, some pretty good players here.
32:19Thoughts on taking neighbors in the third round. And where are you at?
32:23Well, it's been an odyssey, uh, with my Malik neighbors opinion this summer.
32:27I mean, he started off not good reading the tea leaves where, you know, you have the surgery last year, then you
32:33have the cleanup surgery because rehab was not going great.
32:36Uh, every beat writer was using the shredded three letters of the PUP, the pup list.
32:41Uh, and then, you know, in late July, we get one weekend where all the beats say, well, actually he's going to
32:48avoid the PUP list and actually he's going to be out there in the first day of practice.
32:53So it's one of those things, Matt, that, you know, you and I create too much content.
32:58And so I, I, I feel for the people that tuned into some episodes in late June where I was like, Hey, it's bad for Malik neighbors.
33:06And then tuned in in early August where I was like, actually it's great for Malik neighbors.
33:11Cause it sounds like I'm talking out of two sides of my mouth.
33:15When in reality, I'm just, you know, catching up to new information and then interpreting that new information and how I really take and draft these players.
33:23So now with Malik neighbors, I am all the way up at like 24th overall or close to it.
33:29Um, if not even higher than that. And so he's just more talented than a lot of these round three picks of
33:35where he's going on Yahoo right now. Hard to disagree.
33:38He's another guy for me where I just keep on, he keeps on going higher and higher.
33:43I've got him at 27th overall right now can make a strong argument.
33:47I'm 22nd overall. 22nd. Wow. Yeah. Listen, I get it though.
33:51Um, and it is a little difficult. It's like I said yesterday, the headline was, well, he didn't participate.
33:56And it's like, well, my God, did we get a setback?
33:59You know, something like that. It's just going to be a bumpy ride with the neighbors rankings.
34:04It already has been, but yeah, again, I'm looking at him 27th right now.
34:09He is in my second tier of receivers. I can make a very strong argument that he checks a lot more boxes
34:15than a Chris Olave, a Jalen Waddle, a Devante Smith.
34:18Now, the one thing that I also can't get out of my head though, can we get one positive update about the
34:25giants offense besides like neighbors is running? I mean, there has been nothing, but you know, even Matt Nagy's like, well, you
34:31know, Jackson darts got to play more on time in the systems.
34:35Like everybody else is just, you know, pushing sunshines and Ray bones here, uh, in the middle of August, except the giants.
34:41But, but I will say Matt, doesn't that probably affect everyone other than Malik neighbors?
34:46Like shouldn't that affect people's Isaiah likely bags or like the cam scatterboo versus Tyrone Tracy style.
34:51We'll get to scatterboo. Yeah. Yeah. Versus Malik neighbors.
34:54Uh, and I actually think, you know, the offensive line has been invested into, so maybe it gives them like a platform
35:00to have some success every single week. I mean, you, you had to have the football go in this direction, eight, nine, 10 times per game, you know?
35:08So, uh, you'd think, but, but that doesn't always happen that way.
35:12My friend, uh, especially in these like pretty static offenses, like which is what the chiefs looked like the last few years with Matt Nagy.
35:19I just think it's important whenever we do these.
35:22Okay. Well, if he's 90% of himself, you know, then that's cool with me to take him in the third round.
35:28And, and, but, and like I said, I'm totally in on him as a third round pick 27th overall.
35:34So I'm playing a little bit of devil's advocate here, but sometimes that 90% of himself, we're doing it from like the
35:41best possible outcome when there already might be some dampening going on with that anyways.
35:45So I don't know. He's just a tough player to calibrate to because of the injury and because of the changing variables.
35:52And I don't have a strong feeling on where I am with Jackson dart either, which is again, it's, it's a little difficult in that regard.
35:59Fair. All right. That's it for the third round for me.
36:03I'm done. That's it for the first, that's it.
36:05Same again. Rest of it. Pretty unoffensive here. Fourth round gets a little bit more interesting here in the fourth round.
36:12It begins with Emeka Ibuka, Josh Jacobs, Jalen Waddle, Ladd McConkie, Rasheed Rice, Tucker Kraft, Garrett Wilson, Harold Fannin.
36:17We got some more tight ends here coming in.
36:20We're back on tight end row. Travis, A-chan, Terry McLaurin, Sam Laporta, and DeAndre Swift.
36:24Josh, we got three tight ends back here in the mix.
36:28It just felt like to me, all the tight ends are basically two rounds more expensive than they probably are in a standard draft.
36:35So if you're doing tight end premium this year, I think that's how to calibrate to it.
36:40Yeah. I mean, this is notable that, you know, the entire third round was skipped over with tight ends.
36:45And then it's then the next person to, you know, pull the lever first.
36:50And there it was at 42nd overall with Boone himself with taking Tucker Kraft in this, you know, glut of tight ends
36:56that I would say is Tucker Kraft and Sam Laporta and Harold Fannin and even Kyle Pitts.
37:01We'll talk about pretty soon here too. So, uh, you know, round four this year, no matter what the format is, Matt,
37:08I absolutely love it because it's a, Hey, choose your favorite player.
37:11You know, it can be Ibuka. It can be Jalen Waddle.
37:15It can be Ladd. It can be Garrett Wilson, but then when you throw tight end premium on it, then you open
37:21it up to again, this group of mid round tight ends.
37:24That is, Hey, I can make a case for Tucker Kraft being the best yards after catch shot in the league.
37:31And if he's healthy out there in week one, you're getting a steal here in round four.
37:36Hey, Harold Fannin. He might be, you know, the number one pass catcher in a Todd Monken offense.
37:41Uh, that's pretty sweet. And then actually I would say my favorite mid round tight end this year is Sam Laporta.
37:47And that might be controversial. No, I'm actually with you on that.
37:51I have, uh, my tight end tears are my, my second tier of tight ends is Tyler Warren, Tucker Kraft, Sam Laporta.
37:57And I basically kind of flip flop craft and Laporta pending, depending on the day of the week.
38:03Uh, I really liked Sam Laporta 20% targets per route before he got hurt.
38:07Uh, he was averaging like second most yards per game on the team.
38:11He was the second pass catcher ahead of Jamison Williams.
38:14Jamison Williams only broke out in the second half of the season because Sam Laporta got hurt.
38:19To me, that is the variable that, that cleared the way for him.
38:23And now he's getting drew pets. And I, I think Sam Laporta here at 4.11, uh, it was a great pick, great pick, uh, here by Scott Pianowski.
38:31And, uh, yeah, as you mentioned, Kyle pits is going to be the first pick of the fifth round.
38:37So how do you, so you kind of stack these guys up Laporta craft fan in, or what's your order generally for
38:43these and throw copies in here too. Like generally, what is your order?
38:47Premium regular league, whatever. Well, I don't want to reveal too much.
38:51I've craft in Laporta back to back in tight ends and back to back overall.
38:55And actually I have a guy that I took a little bit later on right after them ahead of Harold fan and ahead of Kyle pit.
39:03So maybe we'll save that name until we get to that.
39:06Okay, great. We will save it. Uh, they're one of the really intriguing picks to me that I think is an awesome fourth round pick generally.
39:14And I was kind of happy to see him go in the fourth round is Deandre Swift here.
39:19I think Swift is in such a great position this year.
39:23Um, I just took him in the fourth, uh, fifth round of a different league where there it's like a full wide receiver sicko league.
39:30So felt pretty good about getting him there. Um, Swift is nobody's like favorite player in the NFL, but Ben Johnson, Ben Johnson really likes him.
39:38The offense is going to be good this year.
39:40He's a passing down back. Uh, to me, I think he's somebody that gets overthought when we're looking at that.
39:46Like, I got to grab a running back to zone here.
39:50So I like the, uh, Deandre Swift here by, uh, by your boy weaves actually on this one, my guy producer weaves,
39:56you know, if we stack the producers, uh, in mock drafts, uh, I know I'm taking weaves over Colin every single day of the week.
40:04No offense. Yeah. Colin embarrassed. Colin embarrassed the Yahoo fantasy forecast in this draft and the Josh and Hayden show showing out pretty well.
40:11So we'll see. We'll, maybe we'll have to, we might have to relegate Colin and promote JB or Jung, uh, on the next one.
40:18We'll talk about that. I thought you might say an all producers league to see who the number one fantasy footballer is of all the producers at Yahoo.
40:26That might be something that we can make. Yeah.
40:29Colin invites me to be in a league. I don't know.
40:32Every week. And I keep saying no. So, uh, we'll see about that.
40:36All right. But on a serious note, fourth round, really good.
40:39Let me just talk about. Yeah. Okay. Can I just talk about stuff?
40:43Sorry to derail us. Um, I think we have a running joke of, you know, every single Sunday when you're watching football
40:50and you're on Twitter, when, you know, Colson Loveland goes off, everyone in all caps says Loveland or, you know, they sure might be Luther burden.
40:57No one ever goes with a swift because no one cares about Deandre's when really, when really they should like, I've never
41:04been a D I'd never been a down your swift guy prior to last season, but cuz like every team he was
41:11on got rid of him and improved at that position, you know, Eagles lions.
41:15But then like when we got to the bi-week, it was week six and on, you can tell that the bears like
41:21went in the lab and watched, okay, our best run concepts with Deandre swift are this and it was a lot of
41:28stuff to the outside, a lot of pitches, tosses, everything.
41:31They even had like Ben a debt playing left tackle.
41:34Who's a freak athlete and they would just get swift in space and immediately it went to the moon.
41:39It was really great. And I would also say like the more traditional inside runs, he was probably his best in his
41:46NFL career last season than he's ever been. I mean, he produced a run of 10 or more yards on 13 and a half percent of his runs.
41:54That was six in the league. So you also have the, you know, upside of okay, what happens if common on guy does miss time?
42:02What are we gonna get out of Deandre swift after that?
42:05It could be one of the top 12 scoring running backs.
42:08Cuz I highly doubt they give Roshon Johnson all of common on guys work if that happens.
42:13So if everything stays the same as it was last year, swift is a good pick here.
42:18And then if he goes on to have like a truly back stuff, then again, you're getting massive, massive value on him.
42:25Massive value. I'm well ahead of consensus on Deandre swift from an overall perspective and a guy I'm really low on relative to overall ADP is Josh Jacobs.
42:33The other running back who went in this round just, just to be fair to Colin here who, who we've trashed on
42:40the show, Josh Jacobs was the pick in the fourth round by our boss.
42:44My longtime boss, Jason Klobaka and sorry, boss man.
42:47I thought that was a terrible pick. You can't, you can't pay me to pay to take Josh Jacobs in the fourth
42:53round literally has like every red flag that you possibly could ask for, for a running back.
42:58So I don't care if, Oh no, don't be scared.
43:01Don't be scared. Don't dress. Um, no, thanks. I'll find another player to take in fantasy football this year.
43:07And if that comes back to bite me, so be it.
43:10I think I'm gonna be fine. Matt, I will be honest.
43:13Uh, I am the loser maybe that is taking a lot of at this point with information that we know like Josh
43:20Jacobs and even some like Rashi rice right now.
43:23But I, I, that is, that is subject to change and per Kablaka, we update our rankings like every single day.
43:29So Jason, you might have a, uh, rankings update in your mailbox right after this.
43:33Great. Okay. Well, um, I guess you're, you're the CLV guy.
43:37That's what you're looking for. Is that what the kids say?
43:40You're looking for your CLV. But Josh Jacobs, I mean, I will say yes, it is all opportunity and volume based.
43:46Um, it's not like there's a beacon of health of running back two behind him.
43:51And I mean, there's not a beacon of health and running back one.
43:54Josh Jacobs is currently injured. Well, he is currently injured.
43:57Uh, he has also previously been injured in seasons and still ranks as a top eight to 10 score, even in those situations, because guess what?
44:05When they're inside the 10 yard line and they're running the football, who's getting the rock?
44:10It is Josh Jacobs. The dude scores a lot of touchdowns.
44:13You're probably right. Uh, I, I just, no, thanks.
44:16I'll, I'll look at the other players on the board for me, but you know, you could be right, Josh.
44:22So that's why I like these different perspectives here on the show.
44:25Let's get into the fifth round here, which again, starts off with Kyle Pitts, Tedrow McMillan, Christian Watson, Cam Scadaboo, Luther Burden, Quinchan Judkins to you, Josh Norris.
44:34I like that pick there. David Montgomery, Basial Tootin, DJ Moore, Bucky Irving to me, Travion Henderson and Judarian Price.
44:40Big running back round here, which again, started off with Kyle Pitts.
44:43Um, one, one pick I did think was interesting just to actually go to wide receivers here.
44:48Christian Watson, wide receiver 23, definitely ahead of his overall ranking, um, ahead of some other really interesting names.
44:54Christian Watson's probably a guy I haven't talked about enough recently.
44:57Uh, where are you at with Christian Watson this year, Josh?
45:00I mean, I have him ranked as wide receiver 24.
45:03So if he wasn't selected at this 503 spot, if I can remember back to when we did this draft, I think
45:10I was hoping to draft Christian Watson as like my flex spot here, uh, after, you know, wide receivers earlier.
45:16I am in love with Christian Watson. I think people still perceive him as this high variance downfield threat and that's it.
45:23And you know that his game transformed last year.
45:25He, he evolved. Like you can look at it from his routes.
45:29I think he ran for the first few years of his career, 7% out routes.
45:33And that jumped up to like 35% last year.
45:36He was their go-to player on like second and eight and third and six.
45:40Uh, you know, we, we fantasize about, Hey, these big play downfield catch explosive wide receivers.
45:45These big plays you know, came out Bakers when in reality we want the gimme guys too, you know?
45:50And Christian Watson last year became much more. Movie guy.
45:53And now we get a Packers wide receiver trio instead of a quartet or quintuple or wherever else you go with those numbers.
46:00that also him playing the Z where he's going to get free releases and some movement pre-snap like Christian Watson is one
46:07of my favorite wide receiver picks according to their value in all of fantasy football this season yeah just to put into
46:13context some of that improvement that Josh is talking about here 2023 season Christian Watson 70.6 success rate versus zone coverage this
46:20last year 79.1 success rate versus press in 23 60 just shy of 70 this last year so it was the best
46:26season of his career as an individual player and he came off an ACL in the same calendar season and your point
46:33there about him sticking at Z is so critical to me you know Matthew Golden probably going to be not a pure
46:40sacrificial ex but he'll do some sacrificial things to allow Christian Watson to do all the fun move around stuff so and
46:46I actually think Matthew Golden is a fine late round pick I'm really in on all three of these Packers receivers this
46:53year it's a group that I really want to target Watson in this range I probably will just have a couple of
46:59guys ranked you know a little bit ahead of him but same tier totally fine with where Christian Watson goes so I
47:06thought he was an interesting pick to highlight because we just haven't talked about him enough on the show I took Bucky
47:12Irving in the fifth round here uh Josh how do you feel I I feel good I'm like I'm back on Bucky
47:19at this point um I think that a lot of the news that we're getting out of Bucks training camp is that
47:25yes Kenny Gainwell is going to be the passing down like back he'll be the preferred pass catcher but they haven't really
47:32started to mix him in much as a rusher I think Sean Tucker is a little bit more of like a fantasy
47:38Twitter obsession than a real threat in in in the rushing department and I just look at this right now where Bucky
47:45and this is why I had to bump him up a tier in my rankings where I look at Bucky right now
47:52is just okay we know there's a good player in there somewhere we saw it not even just a good player a
47:58great player in his rookie season and this is an offense Josh that I want to be in on this year this
48:05offensive line is probably a top five unit in the NFL it's healthier this year going than going than it was going
48:11into last year Bucky's healthier than he was last season again I realize that Kenny Gainwell is a threat to the passing
48:18game work but I can also tell myself a story that Kenny Gainwell is a little overrated right now as a pass
48:24catcher because he's coming off the Aaron Rodgers check down um bonanza so I don't know I Bucky is a fifth round
48:31pick I've actually kind of really warmed up to him as that running back too when I don't get running back too
48:37early which is what I'd prefer to do he's one of these that I I get hot and cold on every single
48:44rankings update like I look at it and I think back to that rookie season where he is so good at breaking
48:50tackles I mean despite his size he really is like a between the tackles runner that if you give him the second
48:57level then he forces you know defenders in the opposite direction for a step then cuts off of him and then hey
49:04if you're reaching for a tackle he's just breaking it and then he gets the second and third level at the same
49:10time that was a Liam Cohen rushing game versus now a Zach Robinson one uh and we have seen that Liam Cohen
49:17rushing attacks are fantasy darlings and yep with Zach Robinson he had Bajon Robinson and even some of that was hit or
49:23miss some weeks right yep um because of like the tight end to tight end blocking so yeah I really like Bucky
49:30and I am totally with you that this Bucks offensive line has a chance of being a top five unit it's just
49:36this high variance-ness I get with the Bucks right now where it's like a hot and cold we're gonna go in these
49:43streaks where you know Baker and company plays like maybe a top five unit and then when it's bad it's like real
49:49rough but at the same time we're not talking about your running back one we're talking about your running back two and
49:56uh this is a whole round of running back twos yeah a lot of running back twos I mean Basial Tootin, Jadarian
50:02Price, very interesting players here, Trevion Henderson, anything just real quick before we go to break anyone here that you look at
50:09from a running back standpoint you're just kind of eh on the whole thing?
50:13No I mean I can make a case on literally all of them it's weird I'm a big Trevion Henderson guy and
50:20we have a show coming out tonight talking about the you know players that Hayden and I just compiled together are most
50:26different at running back than where they're being drafted and and Hindo is where we're most negative and it's just because he's
50:33drafted as the Patriot starter and he's not the Patriot starter yeah you know it's like it really is that simple and
50:39no doubt when he is the starter for the team if something happens to Ramondre he is fast enough and that offense
50:46is good enough for him to have and like scores the one of the top running backs in a six seven eight
50:52week span like he did last year but uh just simply put going into the season he's probably not going to be
50:59the one that touches the ball first or starts in that first series and so it's kind of odd to me that
51:06he is being the first one selected of that group yeah Stevenson should be ranked and drafted ahead of Trevion Henderson but
51:12he probably won't be he probably won't be so I think that's a good place to profit if people agree with that
51:19all right we are going to take another quick break we come back we get into the sixth round seventh round the
51:25eighth round we'll get into that right after this all right we're back let's get into the sixth round here uh general
51:32take as we look at this round the wide receivers are way better than the running backs in this round other than
51:38Ramondre Stevenson who we just talked about you know yeah this is when you're getting into like it's Tony Pollard and Jalen
51:45Warren o'clock which you better not be uh you know you better not be taking your running back to in this round
51:51but here's how it goes Jamison Williams Lamar Jackson Roma Dunze Parker Washington Devante Adams Mike Evans George Kittle Carnell Tate Jaden
51:58Daniels Tony Pollard Remindry Stevenson Jalen Warren this was uh the guy you were hinting at earlier Josh you took George Kittle
52:04at the 6.06 the 6-7 pick talk us through George Kittle where you at I think George Kittle as soon as he
52:11has cleared which it sounds like for Matt Zenitz and a few other people he is on track to do he's immediately
52:18going to climb a full round and I get it I mean he's coming off an Achilles he's over 30 years of
52:24age Matt I would say he kind of fits in that Derek Henry freak profile of oh yeah this is like a
52:31one-of-one specimen who is now on an offense that there are a lot of question marks around like we know Mike Evans
52:37is going to miss four games because of hamstring I don't want to be that flipping about it but that's just where
52:44he's at at this age uh they've lost Ricky Pearsall and now have Debo who will be a declining player as the
52:50season goes along and then while I am optimistic in comparison to market on John Stripling what if George Kittle is the
52:57most dependable pass catcher out there for a number of games and he's not being selected as that on many many platforms
53:03again he's going after Harold Fannin and Kyle Pitts who are going to be in worse offenses than the San Francisco 49ers
53:10so I am loving that I was able to scoop to me value in Titan premium in the sixth round here yeah
53:16it's just tough obviously he's a older player with an Achilles injury uh allegedly the good kind of Achilles uh tear which
53:23I didn't realize was a thing but we'll see how it goes man he's a freak athlete uh that's what freak athletes
53:30do they buck trends so I'm totally fine with you kind of grouping him in here a real value in the sixth
53:36round for sure I have him in the same tier as Fannin and Pitts so uh I'm with you on that one
53:43from just a draft value perspective the other pick I think that's interesting in the sixth round here Jaden Daniels are we
53:49still taking Jaden Daniels this high after the Laramie Tunsil injury he was a very popular submission for our fantasy hotline segment
53:56uh later on which we which we are going to get into at the end of the show yeah I don't know
54:02if you care um you know he's kind of being grouped in what in that quarterback three range uh quarterback four with
54:09Joe Burrow then you get into another tier after that um I mean there we times was big like well not just
54:15physically but also big for this offense in that you could just keep him on an island and then ask your four
54:22other offensive linemen to block three other pass rushers and that's it life's easy for you protection packages are easy for you
54:28uh that's not necessarily the case anymore like I mean are they moving Brandon Coleman to left tackle are they moving Josh
54:35Connolly over to left tackle I'm sure that they have figured it out I haven't yet it's just a downgrade no matter
54:42what you know so uh like Laramie Tunsil during his final year of Houston I was a bit concerned by and so
54:48were they but this past season he was freaking excellent so uh we know that underperforming teams based on expectation almost always
54:55it's because offensive line injuries or just poor talent and you hate to see your best offensive lineman go down before week
55:01one and that is what happened here with the commanders moving into round seven for us here begins with DK Metcalf Brian
55:08Thomas Jr Joe Burrow Jordan Tyson who picked up a little bit of a hamstring injury today never loved to see that
55:14what you want to hear not what you want to hear with Jordan Tyson uh Chuba Hubbard another guy that picked up
55:21a hamstring injury here which we'll talk about more of that in just a moment because it went Chuba Hubbard Marvin Harrison
55:27Jr to yourself Josh Norris then Justin Boone puts his money where his mouth is earlier this week he says hey I'm
55:34going ahead and moved Jonathan Brooks ahead of Chuba Hubbard in my rankings he takes Chuba Hubbard at the seventh pick in
55:40the seventh round that's going to go ahead and be consensus from now on at this point Chris Godwin goes off the
55:47board JK Dobbins Rico Dowdle Stefan Diggs Michael Wilson so we see the uh Jonathan Brooks pick here after Chuba Hubbard uh
55:54that will not be for much longer Josh Norris that Jonathan Brooks goes behind Chuba Hubbard no not at all and you
56:00know this is one where we've had people like Cam Wolf who are close to the Panthers organization say hey word behind
56:07the scenes is if Jonathan Brooks stays healthy then they expect him to basically take over that running back one job like
56:13he is the most talented back in that room um has that just been fast tracked now you know like if he
56:20is the one that is healthy heading into week one and while Chuba Hubbard according to Dave Canales is going to play
56:26in week one we know these things don't always go correctly um and Jonathan Brooks is he the one who's going to
56:33touch the football first and if he does does that just mean a much larger workload like is he the player and
56:39we hey and I just talked about this for our show tonight on an offense that when they're good at rushing the
56:46ball which they have been at times over the last few years and even when they're not they're still just going to
56:52run the football like they will run into walls over and over and over again and he's a really really fun talent
56:59so I guess my question to you Matt to put you on the spot if you said to yourself no matter what
57:06I want to exit my draft with Jonathan Brooks where would you take him well uh I can just tell you from
57:12an ADP perspective I have been like 20 plus spots ahead of overall ADP on Jonathan Brooks for all for a while
57:19now uh I am ranked I still haven't like fully adjusted to this whole news just yet I've had him as like
57:25my 79th overall player last week I had him as my 86 so I did bump him up a little bit in
57:32uh after the after the injury news today I mean yeah I think you have to take him like in the early
57:38seventh round which feels super uncomfortable because I mean when he was around 10 pick I was like oh yeah baby sign
57:45yourself up for that every single day I felt comfortable before this taking him in the eighth round because you just look
57:51at the rest of the running back board Josh it's like we're taking JK Dobbins here uh Rico Dowdle is the guy
57:58that I took in this round okay like I got that's a it's like a floor bet maybe there just aren't that
58:04many other ceiling bets available at the running back position totally and I get the obviously the risk for Jonathan Brooks is
58:11like he doesn't play it like he doesn't play a single snap he's what he has 12 rush attempts in his entire
58:18career I get the risk on that but you know here in the seventh round if you are looking for running backs
58:24I think it's I think it's a team sensitive build Josh is is kind of the thing Josh is like I'm just
58:31kidding but yeah I'm comfortable taking him in the seventh round so on July 6th Hayden and I did our running back
58:37sleeper show and for us that is always hey you have to be pick 120 and later Jonathan Brooks at that time
58:44on Yahoo was pick 124 and so that shows you you know yesterday's price is not today's price and even like recently
58:50he's been going around 103 overall on Yahoo in the ninth round I think his ADP just flat out flips Juba Hubbard
58:57where yep Juba would now be a ninth round pick Jonathan Brooks would now be a six seven turn player but again
59:03for you people at home if you want to exit your draft with him no matter what I mean Matt is the
59:10absolute highest you would go like where you took Bucky Irving you know I don't know if anyone's going to feel that
59:16positive about Jonathan Brooks there's going to be someone out there saying hey I want to get my guy but that would
59:23then be ahead of you know Trevion Romandre and even like moving up the board like could you even consider him in
59:30the Dave Montgomery territory is that just like way too rich I think that might be too rich just because Chuba is
59:36still going to play a role yeah I think that I think that's too rich for me um by the way it's
59:43so funny you mentioned like flipping the ADPs I'm looking at my last week ranking for Chuba Hubbard was 79th my this
59:49week ranking for Jonathan Brooks is 79th and my current ranking for Chuba Hubbard is 103rd my last week uh or the
59:56last week's ADP uh for uh Jonathan Brooks 104th so yeah I'm in I'm in on that just flip it just flip
60:02it I think that's the right way to go but I have a feeling it's going to get more expensive than that
60:09which is where it'll get a little bit hairy when we're talking about him versus some of those other running back two
60:15candidates but we're going to take another quick break we come back we're going to speed through some of the later rounds
60:22before we get into your questions for the fantasy hotline we will get into that right after this all right we're back
60:28we get into round eight here starts off with Kyle Monungay Blake Corum Drake May RJ Harvey Dalton Kincaid Jalen Hurts Justin
60:35Herbert Alec Pierce Isaiah Likely Josh Downs Travis Kelsey and rounds out with Dak Prescott uh we continue to see just quarterback
60:42value in these next two rounds is going to be great some of that's you know the just pushing down because of
60:48the tight ends and everything but just man try to wait on quarterback this year you might get surprised and you might
60:55get Drake May in the eighth round like I did here um before I throw it to you Josh for your reaction
61:01I want to note this is where Colin paid for the sins of his onesie positions earlier because in the last round
61:08I mentioned that JK Dobbins someone took him at 7.9 that someone was producer Colin who also took RJ Harvey at 8.4
61:14he has double Broncos backfield yeah uh it's just Matt I don't know bro when Colin produces these shows does he just
61:21mute you like does he does he listen like he probably consumes more fantasy football content than 99.9 percent of people out
61:27there and yet he just took double Broncos backfield you know before we were doing these shows live every day he would
61:34have to listen to the pod and then edit it afterwards you know like you basically have to listen to it probably
61:40about three times you know just an editing process maybe we need to get him back to that so that he can
61:47really get back on the horse here yeah I think we might need to have he also needs those three times maybe
61:54he's a physical learner where he needs to transcribe the entire episode by hand to like really have it register maybe that's
62:00how this works yeah we're losing recipes man it's a shame okay all right anything else about the eighth round stand out
62:07to you here I actually would say Dalton Kincaid eighth round pick I dig the eighth round Dalton Kincaid I'm kind of
62:13in on Dalton Kincaid this year yeah I mean look when you're talking Kincaid versus Kelsey and Isaiah Likely like Kincaid to
62:20me has a higher ceiling than than all of those you know uh now he hasn't been able to stay on the
62:26field because of health and then he also hasn't been able to stay on the field because he can't block uh you
62:33know there's Dawson Knox and Jackson Halls ahead of him in that department but at the same time as you know the
62:39uh underlying metrics are extremely kind to Dalton Kincaid in terms of the targets and yards per route run and uh that's
62:46you know that's even more important to people than actual fantasy points I've heard uh yeah if you can win your yards
62:52per route run league if you can win your yards per route run and your reception perception green charts league what is
62:59does he do you even really need to win the actual fantasy league uh apparently that's what producer Colin is trying to
63:06do with the uh Ladd McConkie you know uh DJ Moore Parker Washington run there so uh we'll see the yards per
63:12route run from week 15 on uh that's looking pretty good for the Parker Washington uh six round pick which I did
63:19like Colin by the way you know just just so we don't I love this year yeah just so we're not accused
63:25of cyber bullying uh of producer Colin I like the six the receivers were good but come on both Broncos running backs
63:32be serious here what is this 2005 okay round nine doesn't even want both uh Broncos running backs no he looked at
63:38that RJ Harvey pick I don't know about that Colin yikes anyways okay round nine here begins with Quentin Johnson Trevor Lawrence
63:45Jordan Mason Dallas Goddard Caleb Williams Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt to you Makai Lemon yep Jackson Dart Jaden Reed Chris Rodriguez Mark Andrews
63:51and Jake Ferguson Josh what are your takeaways from this round so when we get to this territory um you know I
63:58would actually consider if I already had my tight end one to maybe take some of these tight ends and throw them
64:04in my flex for tight end premium because I think there's a chance that those guys outscore some of the wide receivers
64:11just straight up with this with this format and you know Mark Andrews Jake Ferguson and Dallas Goddard like all the chance
64:18of doing that like Mark Andrews has a clear pathway of being the you know second target funnel in his offense behind
64:24Zay Flowers Dallas Goddard has that chance you know behind Devante Smith with you know the Dontaven Wicks Makai Lemons of the
64:31world uh and like the counter they had to the tush push last year was let's just shovel it to Dallas Goddard
64:37near the goal line and have him score touchdowns and then you know Jake Ferguson while he's the third third and sometimes
64:44fourth because our guy Ryan Flournoy plays football uh down the scene he's an awesome target and a very very high scoring
64:50in Nate Tyson's number one projected offense for the Cowboys so I think that's something a strategy component to consider here for
64:57tight end premium yeah no I think it totally makes sense there yeah the Dallas Goddard stuff maybe Kevin Petulo you know
65:03kind of didn't do such a great job with everything else because he was so busy designing up uh plays for Dallas
65:10Goddard because those plays were cooking everything else for the Eagles last year maybe not so much so yeah Dallas Goddard uh
65:16I like that pick there I wish the vibes were better on Mark Andrews I mean he did a great video announcing
65:23our tight end premium you know how dare you that was awesome you I mean that was awesome but I just I
65:30wish I was getting like man it looks like it's Andrews season again from training camp but I guess maybe everybody who
65:36other season can it be for that tight end room you know they're all gone like no not only Matthew Hibner season
65:43yeah Kolar Isaiah likely and even Patrick Ricard are all gone so we can't do this funny business of Hayes to Mark
65:49Andrews week it just better be a Mark Andrews week or the the Ravens are struggling this year uh yeah last note
65:56on this uh round two those running backs to Corey Crossy Merritt who you took uh Jordan Mason those are guys I've
66:02bumped up my rankings to just try to get them inside the top 100 if you're looking for those running backs at
66:09this point in the draft I like both of those guys here Chris Rodriguez too I have he's actually one of the
66:15guys when I filter like who am I highest on relative to ADP is Chris Rodriguez which is weird because I'm actually
66:22as I'll talk about in the mailbag segment I'm also kind of a Basial Tootin guy but it's just one of those
66:28hey try to get an ambiguous backfield and Rodriguez is many many many rounds cheaper uh than than Basial Tootin but we'll
66:35talk more about that when we get into the hotline segment let's just quickly look through rounds 10 to 15 one notable
66:42thing here in round 10 was just like this is wide receiver sleeper season here in the 10th round and I'm kind
66:48of curious if any of these guys stand out to you Jaden Higgins Rashad White Michael Pittman Jalen Coker Kenny Gainwell Jonah
66:55Coleman Jordan Addison Chigra Conquo Matthew Golden Cortland Sutton Wandale Robinson Romeo Dobbs so it's a mix of like interesting young sleepers
67:01boring hope you get some value veteran picks anyone here you really want to make a case for I mean to be
67:08honest a lot of them but the wide receiver show that we did comparing our rankings to ADP there's two of them
67:14in this group and that's Jalen Coker and Jordan Addison um really like them and I'm the opposite and it's Cortland Sutton
67:21we're kind of negative the inverse we're much lower on him compared to where he's going um Addison I think is a
67:27big one because I think people just are underestimating how much of a bounce back this Vikings offense can have where because
67:34you know it was what 26th in scoring last year uh I mean the year before that they were ninth you know
67:40with KOC calling plays in 2022 that they were eighth and so while Jordan Addison has always been that bit of a
67:47roller coaster wide receiver two or wide receiver three you're not drafting him anywhere close to that in fact you're drafting him
67:53in like deep wide receiver four territory as wide receiver 45 and uh I love that here you know this is an
68:00offensive scoring a bunch of points he was the wide receiver 28 in points per game in 2023 with Kirk Cousins Nick
68:07Mullins and Josh Dobbs and then was the wide receiver 21 in points per game with Sam Darwin in 2024 so I
68:13expect him to be back in like that wide receiver 35 ish range and that can only climb with you know other
68:20wide receivers getting injured yeah I'm skeptical on Jordan Addison as a player and skeptical on the Kyler Murray experience so I'm
68:26just kind of in line with ADP on Jordan well actually I'm in I'm in line with him positionally why do you
68:33see I am wide receiver 45 but I also have him from an overall ADP perspective like 14 spots higher than that
68:39because I think this is a good range to be taking all of these receivers I got listen I love Jalen Coker
68:46which credit to producer column that was his pick uh he's clearly trying to get in the good graces here with only
68:52watches the Coker segments that's it clearly he actually went to high school with Jalen Coker so he he knew Jalen Coker
68:59existed before uh I did so you know there you go but look at that yeah so it's a good it's a
69:05good round to be taking these sleepers I like Jaden Higgins as well I mean he's another guy I'm higher on relative
69:12to ADP uh so yeah it's just a good spot to be taking these younger guys as opposed to yeah for me
69:19Cortland Sutton, Mondale Robinson like you know what you're getting there I took Michael Pittman so I'm kind of being a hypocrite
69:25here on this one um so what does Kenny Gainwell bring you in this round you know like Kenny Gainwell is just
69:32gonna be a pass catcher and that's it you're trying to do the PPR scam and a half PPR league like he's
69:38a guy that I've bumped down my rankings uh especially because I'm getting higher on on Bucky Irving because it sounds like
69:45he's just going to be like kind of a role play like a role player as a passing down guy so yeah
69:51to me Gainwell um not somebody I'm super super thrilled about unless it's full PPR you're starting multiple flexes and you're just
69:58kind of looking to fill one of those spots but let's take our last break here I don't there's any reason to
70:04do a big breakdown on the round 12 picks um when people start getting into you know it is what it is
70:11because we have a really good bunch of discussions to have in our fantasy hotline segment we will get into that right
70:17after this all right we are back and welcome to the fantasy hotline presented by Toyota the official automotive partner of the
70:24NFL every Thursday we are taking your most pressing questions for the fantasy hotline and today we asked you all I asked
70:31you all on social media okay for who are the players that you have dropped the most in your fantasy rankings based
70:37on what you've seen or heard out of training camp the last couple of weeks and why some really good submissions here
70:44I do want to try to hit all of them uh we'll see Josh and I are um you know talkers so
70:50we'll see if we can get it done here first one comes in from at NFL underscore T Strack Tom Strachan Strachan
70:57our guy T Strachan our guy yeah T Strachan baby let's go okay here we go Basial Tootin is willing to be
71:03wrong on him but the cost doesn't math with the reports Josh based on the training camp reports Basial Tootin never going
71:10to catch a pass because LaQuint Allen is the pass catching back and Chris and he's never going to score a touchdown
71:16because Chris Rodriguez is the goal linebacker so uh no catches no touchdowns for Basial Tootin are you knocking him in your
71:23rankings no I I'm still like running back 25 ish with Basial Tootin um I still see like a pathway map for
71:29him to be a league winner you know what if he is the guy like what if Chris Rodriguez if he's the
71:36one standing in your way to being the top runner in a Liam Cohen offense like I kind of want to take
71:43that bet every single time you know and so yeah like I understand some of the negatives here with Basial Tootin and
71:49I understand when Liam Cohen gets on a mic and the dude loves to talk now he and James Gladstone loves a
71:56podcast interview um and he and he says like what what we're what we're hunting up now is four or six eight
72:02ten yard gains like to me that's something a bit short and like all we want is efficiency and Chris Rodriguez brings
72:09that well every metric that you look at where C-rod is efficient about five spots behind right there is Basial Tootin so
72:15I know it's a small sample that we're talking about here and he didn't play for Liam Cohen at Kentucky but again
72:22if Christopher Rodriguez is the thing that's standing in my way from Basial Tootin being like this year's Travis HN or this
72:28year's Bucky Irving that Liam Cohen coached I want to take that wager every single time of where he's going in drafts
72:35right now I want to take it ahead of where he's going in drafts right now uh I have him ranked ahead
72:41of ADP and it's so funny like he's the first Jacksonville Jaguar off the board in the sixth round of Yahoo drafts
72:48and this is an offense we all expect to be good it's just the ambiguity in the receiver room and in the
72:55backfield is combining to by the way I think just kind of lead you back to Trevor Lawrence I wrote about that
73:01in my draft day blueprint piece which is going to come out I think early next week where it's just it's why
73:08I keep drafting Trevor because he's the one who's going to be distributing the football to all these pass catchers but yeah
73:14I mean I'm ahead of consensus on a lot of these Jags guys including Basial Tootin and to your point Josh like
73:21what if Chris Rodriguez misses time like then Basial Tootin turns into like a turbo smash because when you look at just
73:27where he like the backs that he goes around it's the players we talk about like the Quinchan Judkins the Cam Scadaboos
73:34and all that it's like I have much more faith in the Jacksonville Jaguars ecosystem so it's not a perfect run out
73:40for sure but I also kind of think we're overthinking the LaQuinn Allen passing down back of this all too like yeah
73:47he's he's a long down and distance guy not a screen catch a screen pass catcher and stuff like that this is
73:53something where you know the report came out with Alvin Camaro that he's going to own third and fourth downs and Travis
74:00H is going to own first and second downs and people freaked out as if then a chain is not going to
74:07you know catch any passes when in reality when you look back at it last year 35 of the 36 receptions that
74:13Travis H and had were on first and second down you know like that's when the vast majority of these receptions do
74:20happen for these running backs so yeah I misspoke I'm well ahead of market I'm Basial Tootin I have a miss running
74:26back 22 right now all right next one comes in from uh Ames Clarkson Rasheed Rice this is definitely a quote watch
74:33the tape take but every camp clip I see out of him looks brutal no separation no juice nothing that makes me
74:39feel good about paying his price meanwhile Cyrus Allen is out there gliding I've moved rice down maybe camp clips burn me
74:46but my eyes are screaming at me right now um yeah not really a watch the tape take like a watch the
74:52twitter clips take here uh from Clarkson how are you feeling uh about your boy Rasheed Rice you're you're a guy whoa
74:59whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa I mean first first show you and I did together as Yahoo colleagues you're telling me I'm
75:05I'm just I want to draft all the Rasheed Rice I've drafted a bunch of Rasheed Rice my have fun with that
75:12pal I believe is what I said to you are you having fun never ever do I want to be known as
75:19the Rasheed Rice guy just in life and maybe this year on the NFL field um look I think we do have
75:25to caveat this as saying that it seems like Rasheed Rice is rehabbing his injury on the fly versus you know a
75:32lot of these people in the last month at the facility doing it with professionals he was in jail he was in
75:38jail so are we seeing that yeah in front of our eyes and playing out 100% now also I think a lot
75:45of the training can't flips and there's one that stands out to me where you know it's seven on seven in the
75:51red zone extended play he's locked up in man coverage and then Cyrus Allen peels off on a string and catches it
75:58in the corner of the end zone for a score yeah baby Rasheed Rice has never been good against man coverage at
76:04the same time when he plays Rasheed Rice has averaged over 15 fancy points or 17 depending on your platform uh per
76:11game he is clearly their number one wide receiver when on the field and that has been from year one until this
76:17past season and when healthy so it's tough for me to overlook how productive he's been and unless they like totally changing
76:24and reworking his passing attack I still am wondering where the football is going to like is it going to go to
76:31Xavier worthy Matt who I think is who he is in the league now is it going to declining Travis Kelsey and
76:37if not is that the boom case for Cyrus Allen because if it if those three things aren't working then Rasheed Rice
76:44is still going to score fancy points this season yeah I I get it um I think the problem there is though
76:50the Chiefs have a real incentive to rework that passing game based on the results from last season and I think the
76:57I totally hear your point about the man coverage stuff like that's never what Rice was doing I would actually argue that
77:03he was worse against man coverage last year than he was in the brief moments he had in 2024 which is fair
77:10because I mean he was coming off an injury you get that he's coming off of an injury once again uh and
77:16I think that I actually think Josh if you are going to be optimistic about Kenneth Walker which I am being like
77:23and you are too you took him in his draft being like a change force for this team as a pass catcher
77:29uh as like a a steady efficient rusher I actually do think that comes at the expense of Rasheed Rice who out
77:36of 112 receivers who have run 600 or more routes since Rasheed Rice entered the league he is 112th in air yards
77:43per target like that's gotta be it's gotta get way more real at some point and yeah you'd certainly like to see
77:49him you know looking better in training camp if it was gonna get more real but yeah I I think it's fair
77:56to dock him but not because of the training camp clips just because of some of the things that are surrounding Rasheed
78:02Rice and some of those variables there is kind of the way I would look at it I would be nice if
78:09Xavier Worthy was healthy that that would be nice but he's not either so we'll see what happens there uh okay next
78:15one coming in from Evan Michael 1990 Justin Jefferson because where's the Kyler Murray hype from Vikings camp uh I I did
78:22I mentioned this I actually did move Justin Jefferson out of the first round for me he's a second I think he's
78:28a second round pick this year I mean I get it like we are we're just really baking in like a lot
78:35of optimism here he was wide receiver 37 in points per game last year I get it that was with JJ McCarthy
78:41but do you think this team was like done yeah no no no I I get it but do you think this
78:48team is done done with McCarthy like don't you think there's a chance with just the way that this went you think
78:55there's that they are so done with JJ McCarthy I don't think JJ McCarthy is like on this roster in week one
79:01well I think that'd be fair that'd be fair I I don't know man I think with the Kyler Murray part of
79:08it all too like good quarterback it will be better than last year and I still have Jefferson as my wide receiver
79:14six I would just much rather take a shot on some of those running backs that we were talking about earlier over
79:21Justin Jefferson if we're looking at that like round one round two turn yeah we disagree here I have Justin Jefferson as
79:27my ninth overall player um it kind of goes back to what I was talking about with Jordan Addison where I I
79:34do believe that we are getting a discount on this offense because they were 26 and scoring last year and this offense
79:40that you know Justin Jefferson was still wide receiver four across the league in terms of team target percentage and wide receiver
79:47five in terms of air yards percentage so it's not like the usage or the opportunity change at all it was just
79:53the person throwing him the football and in literally every other instance that we've had another non-JJ McCarthy or Brosmer quarterback throw
80:00him the football Justin Jefferson has been incredible I mean he was the wide receiver three in points per game with Sam
80:07Darnold and the wide receiver five with Kirk Cousins and Nick Mullins throwing him the football so I you know I am
80:13not as high on Kyler Murray over the last two seasons as other people have been because he abandons plays a bit
80:20too often and he goes a bit maverick and doesn't necessarily read it out and once we get to the red zone
80:26you know he just turns down wide open Trey McBride throws at the same time I would like to think that KOC
80:33is a good enough coach that he can say hey trust me man trust the environment hit your back foot in the
80:39face of pressure and throw it where you need to throw it to because if that happens we have seen far less
80:46talented quarterbacks raise this offense to top 10 in scoring and I still think there's a pathway for them to do that
80:52this year 100 percent yeah I think Kirk Cousins at his best is a better quarterback than Kyler Murray we've seen so
80:59far I think Sam Darnold his best is probably better than what we've seen out of Kyler Murray lately and so I
81:05think we're getting like a slight we are getting a slight discount on some of these guys potentially but it's also a
81:12high wire act offense to a very boomer bust offense and Kyler Murray is a very boomer bust quarterback so I think
81:19it will look better I mean look I'm already pricing in a lot of improvement off of last year having him as
81:25the wide receiver six but I get it a lot of optimism here on Justin Jefferson so I actually think you probably
81:32are feeling better right now that Kyler Murray has been named the starter than you were a week ago so I'm not
81:38sure he's somebody you should necessarily be dropping based on the camp reports but all right so that's it that's all we
81:45got time for this week if you got a lineup question trade debate or league controversy the fantasy hotline here is open

81:58this was an electric show I tight end premium we've solved it for the people out there yeah don't draft Josh Allen
82:04and a tight end back to back just be different than producer Colin and you're going to win your tight end premium
82:11league yeah I mean pretty much don't do that and definitely under no circumstances take both Broncos backs as Josh put it
82:17very well even Sean Payton doesn't want to have both of those guys on his roster okay great show today and great
