Ashton Jeanty

NegativeUsage40:00

Despite 22 touches providing volume, Jenty's rushing efficiency remains poor (21 for 48 yards last week, 19 for 56 yards this week against Chargers and Saints defenses); concerns center on Raiders offensive line run-blocking struggles and center Tyler Linderbaum's frequent time on the ground.

Insight page
NegativeInjury40:14

Jenty entered the season dealing with a high ankle sprain and does not yet look fully like himself; trainers were observed checking his ankles on the sideline during the game, raising concerns about whether the injury is fully healed.

Insight page
NegativeProjection43:03

Matt Harmon would now rank Brock Bowers over Ashton Jenty rest of season in a redraft, a significant reversal from two weeks prior when Jenty was the clear preference; Jenty has dropped passes in consecutive weeks (two this game, three last week) and lacks explosiveness on the ground, mirroring last year's performance issues.

Insight page
PositiveValue43:16

Matt Harmon notes that many fantasy shows might take Ashton Jenty in the top 12 if redrafting, indicating strong early-season performance and redraft appeal despite Bowers' current ranking edge.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeRole60:39

Matt Harmon notes that Baker Mayfield is "a magnet to contact too often," contributing to offensive line struggles for the Buccaneers. While the Buccaneers offensive line has underperformed relative to preseason expectations of a top-three unit, Mayfield's tendency to absorb contact compounds the blocking challenges.

Insight page

Blake Corum

NegativeRole16:00

Corum had some moments in Week 3 but is the auxiliary running back behind Kyron Williams; not a player you can consider starting every week.

Insight page

Bo Nix

NegativeRole4:00

Harmon characterizes Nix as a plays-in-chaos type of quarterback who struggles in consistent offensive situations; similar to Baker Mayfield in this regard; when not in positive down-and-distance situations, Nix leads into his worst instincts and plays in chaos mode, also too quick on checkdowns before routes develop.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury31:48

Breece Hall left the Lions-Jets game in the third or fourth quarter after receiving two carries at the four-yard line; on his second carry, he went down with what appeared to be a thigh or quad injury. Matt Harmon noted that 'those can linger and linger and linger for a while,' suggesting Hall may face a stint on the sideline despite looking good early in the season and in previous games.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveRole70:48

Matt Harmon notes that Brian Thomas Jr. is playing half as many snaps as Parker Washington and Jacoby Myers, representing a complete and total difference in snap allocation. Harmon placed Brian Thomas Jr. on the drop list on the previous week's waiver show, and neither target nor route data has changed his assessment. The snap disparity and lack of offensive involvement continue to be concerns.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveRole40:08

In his first game back from knee injury, Bowers was heavily targeted across short and intermediate routes, with two defenders often covering him; he looked unstoppable and is functioning as Las Vegas's de facto wide receiver one despite being listed as tight end, performing at approximately 85–90% of full capacity.

Insight page
PositiveValue43:11

Matt Harmon ranks Brock Bowers over Ashton Jenty in tight end rankings at this point in the season, suggesting Bowers has outperformed draft expectations and redraft value.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveUsage46:28

Lamb recorded seven catches for 112 yards in the Cowboys-Ravens SNF game, staying active throughout despite not reaching the end zone; he was also involved in a controversial pass interference call late in the game that set up Dallas's final drive.

Insight page
PositiveProjection46:30

CeeDee Lamb had seven catches for 112 yards in the Cowboys-Ravens game, establishing high target volume and production despite not reaching the end zone.

Insight page

Chris Moore

PositiveProjection45:45

Chris Moore scored a short touchdown catch in the Cowboys-Ravens game, contributing to Baltimore's offensive output.

Insight page
NegativeRole50:50

Chris Moore is among the backup receivers the Ravens are still evaluating to determine if they can be trusted in the passing attack. He occasionally pops up in the offense but remains part of the secondary receiving group behind Zay Flowers and Rashad Bateman.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveRole44:22

Matt Harmon identifies Chris Olave as a core fantasy option in the Saints offense alongside Juwan Johnson; the Saints are throwing frequently (48 pass attempts) with Olave as a primary target despite offensive line issues.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeUsage19:00

Moore had a couple of chunk plays over the middle in the Bills-Chargers game; nothing too explosive down the field, nearly scored a touchdown on one play.

Insight page
PositiveUsage27:47

DJ Moore had 10 targets on 26 Josh Allen dropbacks in Week 2 (missing last week), which Harmon describes as a huge number. The Bills offense is expected to funnel targets between Moore and Dalton Kincaid, positioning Moore as a primary receiving option.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

NegativeUsage18:00

Kincaid fumbled the ball on a yard-after-catch moment in the Bills-Chargers game; this was one of several Bills turnovers that contributed to the Chargers' loss despite being up 10-0 early.

Insight page
NegativeRole27:27

Kincaid has been on a heater to start the season. Matt Harmon notes the Chargers' zone coverage and Josh Allen holding the ball longer on fourth and fifth reads limited Kincaid's opportunities in Week 3, but this was a defensive scheme adjustment rather than a talent or role concern. Harmon expects Kincaid to remain a consistent target with DJ Moore (who had 10 targets on 26 Josh Allen dropbacks last week) and the offense funneling targets between the two of them.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeUsage72:18

David Montgomery had a brutal performance against Indianapolis, averaging only 3 yards per carry with an 18% rushing success rate. Matt Harmon notes the Houston Texans offense looked miserable overall, with poor interior offensive line performance contributing to Montgomery's struggles.

Insight page

Demond Claiborne

NegativeUsage60:15

DeMond Claiborne recorded just three carries for one total yard in Week 3 against Tampa Bay. This minimal usage is notable given the Vikings' run-heavy approach (12 of 21 series started with a rush), suggesting ineffectiveness of the ground game overall.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

NegativeUsage48:11

Henry rushed for 26 carries, 3.4 yards per attempt, and two touchdowns against Dallas; Matt Harmon notes Henry's running style requires a runway to get going, and his limited production was more attributable to Ravens offensive line issues (center Ethan Posich hyperextended his knee, forcing backup Vinga Ioni into the game) than Henry's performance decline.

Insight page
PositiveRole50:01

The Ravens offense is built around running the ball to Derrick Henry up the middle as the primary offensive weapon until proven otherwise. With the offense running 21 of 30 series starting with a rush and only nine starting with a pass, Henry is positioned as a central piece of the Ravens' game plan.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection62:31

Drake May had a disastrous Week 3: 14 of 25 completions, 199 yards, two interceptions, and two fumbles (one lost) in a 35-6 loss to Jacksonville. Matt Harmon emphasizes deeper concerns: New England generated negative 0.4 EPA per pass play despite May's average depth of target at 11.5 yards and 3.26-second average time to throw. Jacksonville pressured on 54% of dropbacks. Harmon tweeted that the Patriots look like a team without offensive identity that overperformed last season, and if AJ Brown's absence alone makes the offense this pedestrian, "everyone should be extremely concerned."

Insight page
NegativeProjection63:17

Drake May looks confused and is making very dumb decisions; the Patriots offense is offensively lifeless, directionless, and pedestrian. Through week three including postseason, New England is fourth worst in EPA per play with the highest sack rate. May played well against average and bad defenses but is now facing good to quality opponents and completely regressing in holding onto the football and throwing dumb interceptions in the red zone. Without A.J. Brown, the supporting cast is gone and May is letting the team down with mental errors.

Insight page
NegativeProjection66:08

Matt Harmon emphasizes Drake May must be completely disassociated from his draft position as quarterback three; almost any other quarterback is a better alternative at this point. The Geno Smith tier is better than what Drake May is putting out over the first three weeks. May looks skittish in the pocket, is letting the Eagles down with mental errors, and the Patriots' 11 personnel usage (71.7% of the time) puts him in a position to invite pressure without adequate weapons or supporting cast.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveBreakout30:21

Garrett Wilson recorded his first 100-yard receiving day since 2024 in the Lions-Jets game, exiting late with a neck snap injury. Matt Harmon characterized Wilson as 'a top seven-ish, top eight wide receiver right here' this season, noting that while he's not at the level of Jamar Chase or JSN, 'this feels like you've got a top seven-ish, top eight wide receiver right here in Garrett Wilson.' The performance and Matt Harmon sentiment suggest Wilson is finally emerging as a consistent elite fantasy asset.

Insight page

Geno Smith

NegativeProjection30:39

Geno Smith finished 31 of 37 for 321 yards and three touchdowns but took five sacks and fumbled on an unblocked pressure from Chuck Clark on the Jets' final drive, resulting in a game-ending turnover. Despite solid passing statistics, the late-game fumble and offensive line struggles limited the fantasy upside of the performance.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveProjection43:36

Matt Harmon highlights George Kittle as a key tight end alongside Juwan Johnson in the Raiders offense; owning both in tight end and flex spots has yielded four combined touchdowns through Week 3.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveUsage46:28

Pickens recorded seven catches for 82 yards in the Cowboys-Ravens SNF game, staying active throughout despite not reaching the end zone; he was heavily involved in the Ravens' passing attack.

Insight page
PositiveProjection46:30

George Pickens had seven catches for 82 yards in the Cowboys-Ravens game, establishing high target volume and production despite not reaching the end zone.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeUsage5:00

Dobbins averaging 2.9 yards per attempt in Week 3; Denver's run game ranking 25th in success rate with only 28% of running back runs going for 5-plus yards, a significant decline from last year when they ranked 18th in rushing success rate with 37% of runs going for 5-plus yards; Harmon worries Dobbins hasn't shown his best through first three weeks.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeUsage19:00

Cook had chunk run after chunk run in the second half of the Bills-Chargers game; Josh Allen finished off a couple drives with rushing touchdowns (tush-pushes) as he typically does, with Cook contributing to the Bills' offensive success in the second half.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeRole31:00

Matt Harmon identified Jameson Williams as an ancillary piece to monitor for Lions fantasy lineups, noting that the team's defensive struggles raise questions about how the offense will be deployed and what role Williams will play in the fantasy context.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeProjection9:00

Matt Harmon adjusting preseason expectations downward on Waddle, expecting him to be more volatile than originally projected due to pass protection issues leading Bo Nix to check down frequently, and Waddle receiving more big breaking downfield routes rather than layups; still an every-week starter but acknowledging he may have been ranked slightly too high coming into the season.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeInjury7:00

Coleman suffered a high ankle sprain that he played through in Week 2, now on IR and unable to help the Broncos run game; this compounds the run game problems for Denver as Coleman had some really nice moments in Week 2 before the injury.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeInjury19:30

Allen had a knee injury late in the Bills-Chargers game; in the postgame he was leaning over on one side and walking pretty gingerly; this is the big storyline for the Bills going forward, with the need to ensure the knee injury isn't severe.

Insight page
PositiveProjection19:57

Josh Allen demonstrates dominant fantasy quarterback upside with his legs; despite multiple turnovers, his rushing production (two rushing touchdowns in this game) showcases how impactful dual-threat ability can be in fantasy football.

Insight page

Josh Cameron

PositiveUsage70:48

Josh Cameron scored a red zone 12-yard touchdown in this game and is being utilized in specific red zone situations for Jacksonville. He is getting involved in goal-line and short-yardage opportunities alongside the primary tight end.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection22:59

Herbert had a terrible performance with a really bad interception where he missed a safety over the middle of the field, plus another end zone interception that was called back on a holding penalty. He faced a 54% pressure rate on late-down snaps and failed to connect with receivers on key red zone opportunities, including a potential touchdown to McConkie. The offense generated nothing explosive downfield, and Herbert lacked the hero moments needed to overcome the Chargers' dysfunction.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeInjury60:08

Matt Harmon expresses concern about Justin Jefferson's injury status following Week 3, hoping he won't be sidelined for an extended period. The concern arises in context of the Vikings' unexpectedly run-heavy offensive approach under Kevin O'Connell, which has not been productive.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveProjection43:36

Matt Harmon highlights Juwan Johnson as a key tight end alongside George Kittle in the Raiders offense; owning both in tight end and flex spots has yielded four combined touchdowns through Week 3.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

PositiveRole22:11

Keaton Mitchell is emerging as the perimeter back in the Chargers' committee, getting all the outside runs while Omarion Hampton is confined to up-the-middle carries. Mitchell had 8 carries for 52 yards and added a receiving touchdown despite negative 5 receiving yards, showing offensive coordinator McDaniels' preference for Mitchell in space. However, there is a question about whether Mitchell can sustain a full running back one role given his lighter frame.

Insight page
NegativeRole22:59

Matt Harmon does not believe Mitchell has the size to be a true lead back in the NFL; he's too light. The Chargers are using an early-down committee approach with fullback and Kamani Vidal handling pass protection snaps, while Mitchell gets limited opportunities on designed sweeps and goal-line plays. Mitchell's touchdown came on a sweep where Justin Herbert threw a pass, not a traditional run, and while he broke tackles and evaded contact, his lack of size limits his ceiling as a featured back.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

NegativeRole44:18

Kendra Miller was getting significant playing time in the Saints backfield but struggled when he entered the game, suggesting limited upside as a backup option.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveProjection29:05

Kenyon Sadiq, the first-round pick from Oregon, scored a 24-yard touchdown down the seam against a defensive back in Week 3 against Detroit. The play was a high-difficulty throw and catch (only 16% completion probability) that showcases Sadiq's ability to make plays on contested balls.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveRole16:00

Williams is the clear lead back for the Rams with some really impressive moments in Week 3; Harmon emphasizes he is a player you start every single week, distinguishing him from Blake Corum who is the auxiliary running back and not someone you can consider starting every week.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveUsage52:08

Declan Doyle is weaponizing Lamar Jackson's mobility more effectively than in recent seasons when Jackson was dealing with injuries. Jackson had six carries for 50 yards, with designed plays involving scrambles, backfield movement, and plays designed to buy time and get receivers open. This suggests increased rushing volume and upside from Jackson's dual-threat ability.

Insight page

Mack Hollins

PositiveRole63:43

Mack Hollins is the Patriots' most consistent offensive weapon and their most explosive weapon; he led the team in receiving. He should have had a touchdown in the end zone but the ball hit off the top of his hands. In an offense that is otherwise lifeless and directionless, Hollins stands out as the one reliable pass catcher.

Insight page
NegativeRole66:47

Mac Hollins is the only downfield receiving option for the Patriots offense; Matt Harmon notes there's nowhere to go downfield outside of Mac Hollins, and he's the best thing the Patriots can do to get the ball downfield in a struggling offense with limited weapons.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeRole50:44

The Ravens offense is still figuring out Mark Andrews' role and usage alongside backup tight ends. The team is uncertain about what they can reliably get from Andrews and other pass-catchers beyond the Lamar Jackson and Zay Flowers core, with the offense leaning heavily on running the ball to Derrick Henry.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveUsage40:09

Mike Washington had the most explosive play of the Raiders backfield, recording a 36-yard touchdown run on a well-blocked play, suggesting he may offer more immediate explosiveness than Ashton Jenty despite lower overall volume.

Insight page

Omarion Hampton

NegativeBust20:11

Omarion Hampton is looking like a fantasy bust through three weeks; 15 carries for 56 yards with only two receptions on the season, playing just 42% of snaps and only 2 of 16 snaps on third/fourth down. All his touches are up the middle where the Chargers' interior offensive line cannot create running lanes. Meanwhile, Keaton Mitchell is getting the perimeter runs, suggesting McDaniels has already pivoted away from the Hampton-Devon Achane role concept. Hampton has zero involvement in the pass game despite being drafted as a first-round fantasy asset.

Insight page
NegativeRole22:59

Hampton remains involved in the Chargers' running back committee despite Keaton Mitchell's recent touchdown. Harmon notes that Hampton is not ineffective, but rather the Chargers' pass game dysfunction limits his opportunities; the offense isn't generating enough red zone looks for Hampton to take goal-line carries. Hampton's skill set doesn't align with what the Chargers want to do offensively, creating frustration for fantasy purposes.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveUsage62:40

Parker Washington caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 as the Jaguars defeated the Patriots 35-6, contributing to Jacksonville's offensive explosion.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup63:35

Parker Washington did not score in the game against Jacksonville, though the broader concern about the Patriots offense is not specifically about Washington's performance but rather the overall dysfunction of the offense without A.J. Brown.

Insight page
PositiveRole69:13

Matt Harmon identifies Parker Washington as Jacksonville's best wide receiver and notes he's playing almost a full-time role with significantly more snaps than teammates. However, Harmon cautions that despite Washington's talent, offensive coordinator Liam Cohen spreads targets around the offense rather than concentrating them on one receiver; Washington would ideally see consistent 8-10 targets weekly but may not receive 15-plus targets every week. Washington had a touchdown in this game and is expected to have better days as the season progresses.

Insight page
NegativeRole69:13

Parker Washington is Jacksonville's best wide receiver in Matt Harmon's opinion, but that does not mean he will be peppered with 15-plus targets every single week. Liam Cohen is spreading the ball around among all receivers cycling in, so Washington's volume will be limited despite his talent.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeInjury14:00

Nakua did not play in Week 3; there is uncertainty around his injury status with some believing he might need surgery while others think he will be fine; Harmon finds the situation a little odd and concerning, noting the Rams offense looks like a team that could use impact from their first two draft picks and needs a second counterpunch at receiver without Nakua.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

NegativeUsage24:24

Johnston had three receptions for 40 yards and showed no signs of life in the Chargers' passing game. He had a critical drop on third and 10 in a high-impact moment, contributing to the offense's struggles.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

PositiveRole50:37

Bateman's snap share was limited and overlapped with Zay Flowers' return, causing them to cancel each other out in terms of target opportunity. Matt Harmon apologizes to fantasy players who started Bateman, noting he expected Bateman to be the full-time wide receiver but was not anticipating Flowers' return, which diminished Bateman's role.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeUsage64:14

Ramondre Stevenson is part of a Patriots backfield that is very hit and miss; there's nothing explosive about the running game. The offense cannot run the ball effectively, and Stevenson's production is unreliable.

Insight page
NegativeRole67:01

Rhamondre Stevenson is in a nasty split with Trevion Henry in the Patriots backfield; Harmon observed a pattern of Stevenson running up the gut for minimal gains (one to two yards) repeatedly, suggesting limited effectiveness and unclear role clarity. Harmon concludes there is nobody you can start inside this Patriots offense right now.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeUsage8:00

Harvey tied with Jalen Waddle for team lead in targets with seven, catching six for 41 yards to lead the team in receiving yards; Harmon views this as problematic, indicating Bo Nix is checking down too frequently to running backs rather than letting routes develop, with Harvey being the third leading receiver on the team with only 41 yards.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

NegativeRole31:00

Matt Harmon identified Sam Laporta as an ancillary piece to monitor for Lions fantasy lineups, noting that the team's defensive struggles raise questions about how the offense will be deployed and what role Laporta will play in the fantasy context.

Insight page

Sterling Shepard

NegativeUsage30:06

Sterling Shepard was on the Jets roster and was involved in a two-point conversion play during the Lions-Jets game, indicating he remains part of the Jets' offensive mix.

Insight page

Terrance Ferguson

NegativeInjury14:00

Ferguson was banged up in Week 3 and missed time; Harmon notes he had a couple of moments in the first half and was probably wide open for what would have been a long explosive catch that Matthew Stafford didn't see; his injury is a big one to monitor going forward.

Insight page

Travis Hunter

NegativeRole71:21

Travis Hunter played 45 of 63 defensive snaps in this game, a slight improvement from the previous week. While he recorded an interception on defense, he did not receive offensive touches. Matt Harmon notes the defensive snap increase as a fair point when evaluating his overall usage.

Insight page

Tre Harris

NegativeUsage24:24

Harris caught six passes for 76 yards in Week 3, showing modest receiving volume but no clear signs of life or consistent role emergence in the Chargers' dysfunctional passing game.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveProjection62:31

Trevor Lawrence threw three passing touchdowns in Week 3 as the Jacksonville Jaguars dominated the New England Patriots 35-6. Lawrence's strong performance came against a Patriots defense that allowed negative 0.4 EPA per pass play.

Insight page

Ty Johnson

NegativeUsage19:00

Johnson had out-of-structure plays in the Bills-Chargers game, contributing to the Bills' offensive success.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveUsage47:06

Flowers caught a 27-yard pass late in the Cowboys-Ravens SNF game to set up the Ravens' game-tying field goal; he played significantly more snaps (21 of ~60) than his final stat line of five catches for 84 yards would suggest, indicating elevated involvement in the Ravens' offense.

Insight page
PositiveUsage49:32

Despite playing only 21 of 60+ offensive snaps, Flowers generated six targets, five receptions, and 84 yards, including a crucial 27-yard reception in a must-pass situation. Matt Harmon emphasizes that even on limited snaps, Flowers' importance to the passing attack is evident; he hopes Flowers gets fully healthy for the rest of the season, suggesting significant upside when fully available.

0:00Big show for you here today. It is the Sunday Recap.
0:03Now, full transparency, I'm saying it's a big show.
0:06I only know that the first portion of it is a big show because, as I told you guys last week, I
0:13am not going to be a part of the full Sunday Recap because I had some personal stuff.
0:18I had a friend get married in California this week, so I was doing a little traveling.
0:23I wasn't able to be on the pod here on Sunday.
0:26However, I made it home in time to catch the Sunday Night Football game in entirety.
0:31I was watching games on the plane all day, so I caught plenty of football, but not podcast quality takes.
0:37But I was able to give you some podcast quality takes for the Sunday Night Football recap.
0:42Broncos, Rams, ton to get into on that one.
0:45What an exciting football game that turned out to be.
0:48Very herky-jerky performance from the Denver Broncos offense. I'll tell you everything you need to know and what that means on that side of it.
0:56And a little bit of an up-and-down night for the Los Angeles Rams as well.
1:00Then we'll throw to the rest of the show with Ray and Josh and Hayden as they give you literally everything you
1:07could possibly need to know out of what was a wild week three Sunday slate.
1:11All that and more come up on today's show.
1:14Let's get into it. What's going on, everyone? Welcome to the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast nightcap.
1:18And it is a hell of an evening to talk ball.
1:22By the way, I'm Matt Harmon, fresh off an airplane, fresh off a cross-country little trip here.
1:27You know, back to you guys just in time to watch the Sunday Night Football game.
1:32Yeah, I've been watching football on planes all day because that's how dedicated I am to the National Football League.
1:38That's how dedicated I am to you guys, to the show.
1:41It was a great day of NFL football, but we are specifically here to talk about Broncos 30, Rams 26.
1:47Wasn't sure how this game was going to be.
1:50You know, again, like I said, your boy has been traveling all day.
1:54Shout out to the American Airlines Wi-Fi, okay, for me being able to watch games all day while getting back from California.
2:00So that was great. Wasn't sure, like, if my energy level was going to be right for a sleepy Sunday Night Football
2:07game, which I was kind of worried about in the first half we were about to get.
2:12That was not what this game turned out to be.
2:15Turned out to be a pretty big firework show between the Broncos and the Rams here.
2:20Let's start off with the Denver Broncos side of things because, of course, we always start out with the winning team.
2:26And, man, again, it was a slow start. The first half, not great.
2:30This has become a little bit of a theme for the Denver Broncos as they are transitioning away from Sean Payton as
2:37the play caller and towards Davis Webb. It has definitely not been perfect for Davis Webb, even winning this game here.
2:43A big part of it is because Talon Hufunga had a massive night.
2:47He had the interception, the pick six. He also finished the game off in the final play with an interception as well.
2:53He had a great sack on Matthew Sabrick. Hufunga was awesome all night long.
2:58He obviously contributed to the scoring here. This wasn't totally a specific, you know, Broncos offense dominates Talon O'Hufunga dominating this game.
3:04The Broncos defense, I think, stepping up in really particular ways was a big part of why they ended up winning this game at home.
3:12They had a 41% blitz rate, according to Sumer Live.
3:15That was actually closer to 46% before the final drive.
3:18Their pressure rate was pretty high, 43%. They were able to bother Matthew Stafford pretty consistently during this game, which we'll get
3:24back to when we talk about the Rams offense side of it.
3:28But on the Broncos, again, offensively, it is not a smooth sailing event.
3:32Obviously, we'll talk about the Jalen Waddle of it all and how I'm feeling about those predictions in the preseason.
3:38I'll get to that in just a minute here.
3:41But, I mean, man, I'm telling you, as somebody that does have some Jalen Waddle fantasy teams, has some investment in the
3:47Broncos, it is not a fun watch quarter to quarter to experience this football team right now.
3:52They're very much a herky-jerky offensive attack. I think Bo Nix probably just is that guy, if we're being honest.
3:58He is a little bit of a plays-in-chaos type of quarterback.
4:02I said that about him last year. It was part of the reason why Cortland Sutton would have these games where he would kind of disappear, fall back.
4:10The guys that got the gadgety designer touches, they would really pop up more consistently week-to-week in the Broncos offense.
4:16And some of the downfield X receiver stuff for Cortland Sutton, that would kind of go by the wayside for different weeks.
4:23It wasn't like a Cortland Sutton problem necessarily. It was just that Bo Nix is one of these quarterbacks who can play himself in chaos at times.
4:31I think Baker Mayfield is a lot like this as well.
4:34I think there actually is some kind of similarities between those two guys and how they play.
4:39So I think that's just part of the experience with Nix.
4:42And I also think that with that in mind, some of the outside variables for Denver, at least to me watching it,
4:49it feels like it's contributing to some of those worse moments.
4:52Specifically, I think the run game, and this kind of gets into a fantasy take here.
4:57The run game, I think, is a problem for Denver right now.
5:01J.K. Dobbins averages 2.9 yards per attempt in this game.
5:04You look at some of the advanced metrics right now.
5:07Denver is not the same run game that it was in the first 10 weeks of the season last year when Dobbins was healthy.
5:14Right now, they rank 25th in success rate on their running back runs.
5:18They have 28% of their runs, just specifically with the running backs, are going for 5-plus yards.
5:23That is quite different from the team that we saw last year.
5:27Again, when J.K. Dobbins was the lead back, they weren't a great run team.
5:31They were 18th in rushing success rate on their running back runs.
5:3437% of their runs were going for 5-plus yards.
5:37They're not really getting big plays, and they're not moving the ball consistently, keeping the passing game in positive down-and-distance situations.
5:43And I think you see this sometimes with new play callers, too.
5:47It does feel like Davis Webb is pushing the – I don't have the numbers specifically off the top of my hand.
5:54But it does feel like Davis Webb is pretty consistently pushing the run-on-first-10, run-on-first-10, run-on-first-10 button over and over again right now.
6:00Which may also be a little bit of a Sean Payton thing here, too.
6:04I mean, each of the two primetime games that we've gotten for Denver to start this season, the Kansas City Chiefs lost
6:11in Week 1, this win against the Rams in Week 3.
6:14Sean Payton's come out and talked to the reporter after halftime and be like, we've got to run the ball more.
6:21We've got to run the ball more. We've got to – more time in possession, the whole deal.
6:26And so maybe that's also Davis Webb trying to appeal to and appease his boss in this situation.
6:32And let's be clear, Sean Payton's obviously still his boss and still probably runs a good bit of the show on the offensive side of it here.
6:40So that might be that. I do just worry that Dobbins at this point obviously been a really good player for a long time.
6:47I don't think we've seen his best through the first three weeks of the season, which makes it really unfortunate that a
6:53guy like Jonah Coleman, we found out over the last few days, actually has a high ankle sprain that he played through
7:00in Week 2 when he actually had some really nice moments in Week 2.
7:04That happened, I think, on – the report was his first touch that that happened.
7:09He played through it. Now he's on IR. He can't even really help here.
7:13We know that R.J. Harvey is not going to be that steady, consistent, grinded out back for this team.
7:19So I think that is going to be more of a consistent problem for the Broncos in the overall offensive environment here
7:25and how that leads into the passing game. Like I said, I think Bo Nix is a guy who – when you
7:32have him in these situations, this goes all the way back to Thursday Night Football with Jordan Love this week.
7:38When he's a guy who's not in those consistent and positive down and distant situations, you see him kind of lead into
7:45some of his worst instincts here and play in a little bit of chaos mode.
7:49Also, just a little bit too quick on the checkdowns.
7:52I mean, we showed the R.J. Harvey stats here just a second ago.
7:56Just a ton of checkdowns over and over again to the running backs here.
8:00Like routes aren't really developing for this Broncos team before Bo Nix decides, hey, I'm going to check this thing down and
8:07kind of call it on the play. I think that is just a pretty consistent frustration with Bo Nix over the course
8:13of his NFL career to date and something to, of course, keep in mind here.
8:18Harvey, R.J. Harvey has seven targets, six catches for 41 yards.
8:21He is the third leading receiver on the team with 41 yards.
8:25He is tied with Jalen Waddell for the team lead in targets.
8:28And again, I think that is a little bit of a problem here.
8:32So again, I think we've seen some just again, the effects of a new play caller, whether it comes to like, when are we running the football?
8:40How are we kind of phasing that in here?
8:43Some of the pass protection issues up front. I think that's also been a little bit probably.
8:48I mean, it's a good offensive line. We know this is a good offensive line.
8:53Probably some play caller, new offensive architect deal there with Davis Webb.
8:56And just the Bo Nix of it all, I think they're still trying to sort of figure that part out of it.
9:03But still some pretty good signs, obviously, on offense tonight.
9:06They win this football game. Bo Nix makes some incredible plays.
9:09He is a good, I do think he is a good quarterback.
9:13He's just going to be herky-jerky, tough to live with, with the ups and downs part of it all.
9:19And speaking of which, that brings us to the Jalen Waddle of it all.
9:23Look, full transparency here. I have Jalen Waddle on fantasy teams.
9:26I find week one and week three the results to be very frustrating.
9:30But that is how it goes at the wide receiver position.
9:33You know, if you're in the comments right now ripping me about Jalen Waddell, you're in the Twitter replies, I don't remember hearing from you in week two.
9:42That's how it goes at the wide receiver position.
9:44You're going to have big ups. You're going to have big downs.
9:48Now, to be fair, and where I'm going to maybe adjust some of my expectations here on Waddell, and I did say this on Stats vs.
9:56Film with Josh and Hayden on their channel, which, of course, you guys should check out.
10:01It's a great show. I think I said this after week one and even coming out of week two, that I do
10:07think Waddle, I'm adjusting some preseason expectations just in terms of I think he will be more, maybe not boom bust, but
10:14more volatile than I originally expected him to be coming into this year because of some of the things we've talked about
10:20here so far, whether it comes to the pass protection issues, which leads to Bo Nix wanting to check that football down a little bit.
10:28And Waddle isn't really getting as many of the layups as I probably thought he would.
10:33He's getting a lot more big breaking downfield routes.
10:36So to me, he remains an obvious every week fantasy starter because you're not putting a guy that does what he does
10:42in week two on the bench because that's like you're going to get those pretty consistently.
10:47He's not a guy like Jamison Williams either where he has seven targets in this game.
10:52He leads the team, the pass catchers, RJ Harvey aside, he's the lead target getter.
10:56Also, by the way, he had a two-point conversion in this game.
11:00It was incredible. A great route, great throw by Nix, like the tightest of tight windows there.
11:05So it's not as if he did absolutely nothing here for your fantasy teams.
11:09Still got something for the Broncos here. They missed him on a couple plays.
11:13He had a drop. This is how the wide receiver position goes.
11:17Did I probably rank him a little bit too high coming into the season?
11:21Yeah. Maybe I'm ready to eat crow on that.
11:24Not yet, though, because it's still very early, but still a player that I don't regret drafting necessarily where he went in the fourth round.
11:31I think he's going to return that value for you.
11:34Not really panicked about Jalen Waddell, even if, again, I think we can adjust some expectations here.
11:40So a lot to talk about on the Denver Broncos, and I feel like maybe I was a little negative in the
11:46analysis there, but great win by them. The team is good.
11:49I think this is going to be a rollercoaster ride overall.
11:53Maybe things will smooth out at some point as Webb and Bo Nix figure themselves out.
11:58But for now, I think it's going to be a little bit of a rocky ride, but overall still a good team
12:04because the defense tonight, I think, played like the unit that you were expecting the Denver Broncos defense to be, where it's not a total shutdown unit.
12:12Like Riley Moss gives up a play on a double move to Kanata Mumpfield in the second half of this game.
12:19That's going to happen. They're going to have their busts every now and again.
12:23Devontae Adams had a big night here, but they still forced Matthew Stafford into some tough spots.
12:28And we can transition this now to the Denver Broncos defense and Rams offense side of it here.
12:33I mean, look, this Rams team, again, they're a good football team.
12:37I'm not going to sit here and freak out about the Los Angeles Rams.
12:41But one of the reasons that I did pick on Football 301, the Seahawks, to win the division this year.
12:47And the Seahawks obviously lost to the damn Commanders today.
12:50So, you know, I'm not taking a victory lap on any of the Seahawks predictions.
12:55One of the reasons I just maybe had some hesitation about the Rams reaching this extremely high highs that people have for
13:01them beyond the fact that obviously now Miles Garrett is injured and some of the other things there.
13:07Pukanakua is not playing in this game. This is the deal, though.
13:10Like you lose Pukanakua, you've got Devontae Adams, who's playing fantastic football, right?
13:14Ten targets, seven catches, 137 yards. He has the 49-yard catch and run plays.
13:1854 yards after catch in this game. I was just on this primetime recap with Hayden for the Monday night game last
13:25week talking about, man, Devontae Adams' route running is ageless, baby.
13:28He's going to be able to run those routes until he's 40 years old getting the release off the line of scrimmage.
13:35I didn't necessarily think that he could have, like, I split the defense on a route and run after the catch and create a 40-plus yard explosive.
13:43I didn't know that he had that in him.
13:46Okay? So that was cool to see for Devontae Adams.
13:49But that's it, though, especially with Terrence Ferguson banged up in this game.
13:53He had a couple of moments in the first half, also was definitely missed, and Chris Collinsworth pointed this out.
13:59He was probably wide open for what would have been a long explosive catch that Matthew Stafford just didn't quite see.
14:05But Terrence Ferguson also being banged up? Look, you've got Devontae Adams, who is still amazing, but he's a 33-year-old receiver, who
14:12they moved around a lot more in this game.
14:14They got him some slot reps, which is good to see.
14:18That's what you want when you're going against Patrick Sertan.
14:21And, you know, those guys have history together, the whole deal.
14:24I'm sure there's a lot of mutual respect, but they wanted to do some things to get Devontae Adams some routes away
14:30from Patrick Sertan, even though I think he really got the better of that matchup.
14:35Stafford also left some plays on the field to Devontae Adams as well.
14:39But you don't have a lot after that on this Rams offense.
14:42I said this when they played in Australia in week one, and again, it was easy to say it then.
14:49But say it again here tonight, they look like a team that could sure use some impact from their first two draft picks right now.
14:56And obviously some of these rookie pass catchers, rookie receivers specifically, are not off to the hottest starts in fantasy football.
15:02I bet those guys would be off to better starts if they were the suddenly now second wide receiver in the Rams offense.
15:09Or even in the second round, like you take Max Clare, you play all these tight ends, he can't even get on
15:16the football field because you've got Terrence Ferguson, you've got Davis Allen, you've got Colby Parkinson, and you've got Tyler Higbee, who
15:22had a couple of plays for himself tonight. I do think this Rams offense is just missing a counterpunch in the passing game right now.
15:30And I also think the offensive line maybe isn't all it's cracked up to be.
15:34Again, Denver was able to get an over 43% pressure rate on Matthew Stafford tonight.
15:39It's a tough place to play on the road, in Denver, in the altitude, the whole deal.
15:44Totally get that. Nevertheless, this isn't one of those games where I thought the Rams looked smooth and steady wire to wire in the passing game.
15:52And I think without Puka Nakua, you're going to feel those moments for this team because they just don't have that counterpunch here necessarily.
15:59So lots to chew on with the Rams offense here.
16:02But I think we still know from a fantasy standpoint where things stand.
16:06Kyron Williams is a lead back. He had some really impressive moments tonight as well.
16:11Kyron Williams is just an awesome player. Blake Corum also had some moments as well.
16:15But he is the auxiliary running back. That is what it is.
16:19He is not a guy you can consider starting every week.
16:22Kyron Williams, of course, is someone you are starting every single week.
16:26And then it's Devontae Adams who is a top 10 receiver every single week in my rankings as long as Puka Nakua is out.
16:33And we are kind of monitoring this Puka Nakua situation.
16:36People think he might need surgery on the injury that he is dealing with right now.
16:41Some people think he will be fine. We don't know how that is going to play out just yet.
16:46It's a little bit odd. Just a little bit concerning with the Puka Nakua part of it.
16:51But the Rams certainly feel like a team that needs a second counterpunch at receiver.
16:56But from a fantasy standpoint, it is pretty cut and dry here at this point.
17:00So keep an eye on the Terrence Ferguson injury because that's a big one, of course, going forward.
17:06So we've got a lot of content coming up this week.
17:09I have got a lot of work to do tomorrow to catch up on some of the games I couldn't totally dive into.
17:16So with that, let's call it here for the Sunday Night Football solo recap.
17:20The nightcap here on the channel. I'll catch you guys next time.
17:24All right. That does it for the Sunday Night Football solo nightcap recap.
17:28Now let's toss it to the boys, Josh, Hayden, and Ray for the full Sunday recap.
17:33Let's get into it. Oh, yes. Week three is complete.
17:36And this is our game by game recap show where we talk you through all of it.
17:41And hopefully we learned something. I'm not sure if we did.
17:44I mean, there are five 3-0 teams, five 0-3 teams, and a bunch of nonsense in between.
17:49But that's what we're supposed to do here. Figure out the nonsense in your fantasy lineups.
17:54Tell you how all the players produced or underperformed in expectation.
17:57And Hayden will kick it off with one of those 3-0 teams now.
18:01The Buffalo Bills beating the LA Chargers 24-16. The Chargers out to a 10-0 start.
18:06In my opinion, this could have jump-started their entire season.
18:09And yet, in the end, they lose by 8.
18:11How'd it happen? Teams entered today with two wins, 119 losses, and a tie when losing a turnover battle by 4-plus in
18:18the regular season, according to Sumer Sports, since 2016.
18:21And the Chargers, of course, became the third team to lose with that.
18:25And it was embarrassing for the Chargers because a lot of these Bills turnovers were not because the Chargers were making exceptional plays.
18:31Like James Cook fumbled the ball. Dalton Kincaid fumbled.
18:34Yard after the catch moment. There was a really fluky interception down the football field to Genesis Smith.
18:40Josh Allen had a very uncharacteristic interception over the middle as well.
18:43So the ball was bouncing the correct way for the Chargers.
18:46And they still lost this one by 8 points.
18:49I think in the first half of the game, Josh Allen, it seemed like a lot of the cover 2s and cover
18:566, cover 4, two deep zone coverages from the Chargers were kind of keeping Josh Allen quiet.
19:01But by the second half of the game, James Cook just chunk run after chunk run.
19:06Josh Allen finished off a couple drives with some tush-pushes as he typically does.
19:10DJ Moore, a couple chunk plays over the middle.
19:13Nothing too explosive down the football field. He nearly scored a touchdown with this one.
19:17And then Ty Johnson out-of-structure plays out there. So it was, I think, a fine game from the Buffalo Bills offense in
19:24general, aside from the five turnovers, which is obviously a huge caveat there.
19:28But really just an embarrassing loss for the Chargers here.
19:31I thought the offense was still stuck in the mud.
19:34I thought Harbaugh made some really bad decisions. We'll get to that in a little bit.
19:38On the Buffalo Bills side, though, late in the game, Josh Allen kind of gets hit in his knee.
19:44In the postgame, he's kind of like leaning over on one side.
19:48It was like walking pretty gingerly. That's going to be the big storyline on the Buffalo Bills side.
19:53It's making sure that Josh Allen knee injury isn't a severe one.
19:57I mean, hey, Josh Allen turns the ball over multiple times.
20:00But then that just shows you how dominant you can be in fantasy football as a quarterback with your legs.
20:06The two rushing touchdowns. You know, I was kind of watching this one as well.
20:11And you said embarrassing for the Chargers. I mean, is it not embarrassing that this offense that everybody projected to be really
20:17good, they have failed to score 20 points in any game this season?
20:21Talk about embarrassing versus the Chargers. I thought the loss versus the Cardinals was embarrassing.
20:26Then we kind of thought the loss versus the Raiders, which we'll talk about in a little bit, maybe a little bit
20:32embarrassing for what we expected this offense to be.
20:35I know we focus on the winning team. This Chargers team, y'all, I'm just, I'm very, very concerned.
20:40And Hayden, I'm going to get there at some point, right?
20:44But the rushing attack, I'm looking at the running backs.
20:47And we've kept dancing around this for the first couple of weeks about Omarion Hampton.
20:51I know he scored, but he has not looked great to me.
20:55He hasn't looked awful. But he hasn't looked like this dominant first-round running back that I thought would be just this huge fantasy difference maker.
21:02I think we're going to at least get close to, if not have already pressed the panic button on multiple teams and multiple offenses already three weeks in.
21:11Yeah, Omarion Hampton, this was a very concerning game.
21:1315 carries for 56 yards. It's not just like the yards per carry.
21:17All of his touches are kind of right up the middle at this point.
21:22And the interior offensive line is not going to pick those ones up.
21:25He only played 42% of the snaps. He played two of 16 snaps on third and fourth downs.
21:31Late in the game, Kamani Vaidala was out there in catch-up mode.
21:34There was also like a flea flicker early on where they did not trust Omarion Hampton.
21:39This was on a first down, I believe. And Kamani Vaidala was out there for that flea flicker.
21:45And then just kind of big picture. If you watch all the Keaton Mitchell runs, it's all the runs to the sideline.
21:51And then all of the runs up the middle are Omarion Hampton.
21:55It is a bad sign that in the third week of the season, it seems like McDaniels kind of pivoted off trying
22:01to get to the Omarion Hampton, Devon Achan role to the perimeter where he thinks he's going to be more north-south.
22:08They don't have north-south blockers up front. And this is another game.
22:11No receptions for Omarion Hampton. He has two catches in the first three games.
22:16And the Chargers are 0-3 in them. They have a negative 32-point differential.
22:20And he's still not getting involved in the pass game.
22:23I'm not even blaming McDaniel on that. This is just looking like a bust in fantasy for Omarion Hampton.
22:28I do not know how this one turns around.
22:31Yeah, it sounds like a tell to me. Like, if me and you can watch the Chargers and we know that Keaton
22:38Mitchell's runs are going to be the outside and then Omarion Hampton's up the middle, then defenses will key on that as well.
22:44As you said, 15 carries, 56 yards for Hampton, just one target.
22:48Meanwhile, Keaton Mitchell, 8 carries, 52 yards. And then he did have one receiving score despite having negative 5 receiving yards on the day.
22:55Just a quick question on there, and then I'll get to the pass catchers.
22:59At least from my seat, I don't see how Keaton Mitchell can be a running back one for an NFL team.
23:06He's just too light to me, Hayden. Do you think we're headed in a direction where he is the quote-unquote running back one?
23:13Or is this just a 50-50 split where really both of them aren't going to matter in the long run?
23:19I think it's going to be a committee, but I think it's going to be a committee where they're going to use the fullback in pass protection snaps.
23:27They're going to have Kamani Vidal in pass protection snaps.
23:30So, like, it's kind of like an early down committee.
23:33And then that touchdown for Keaton Mitchell, it was two Hampton runs up the middle.
23:38On third and at the goal line, they did a Keaton Mitchell little sweep where Justin Herbert throws for a touchdown.
23:44It's really just a run play. Keaton Mitchell did break a couple tackles on that touchdown.
23:49He had to evade a defensive tackle. There was one time where he did take on some decent contact near the perimeter.
23:55Keaton Mitchell does not have the size to be the number one.
23:59And I don't think Omarion Hampton is so bad that he can't stay involved in this committee.
24:04Like, that is not where we're at here. It's just that what Hampton is good at is not what the Chargers have.
24:11And I think that's going to be pretty frustrating, especially when the pass game is as dysfunctional as it was in this one.
24:18Like, there's just not going to be that many red zone opportunities for Omarion Hampton to take the goal line dives in.
24:24Lots of conversation of Vlad McConkie heading into this one.
24:27Five targets, four receptions, 66 yards. Trey Harris, six for 76.
24:31And QJ, three for 40. Any signs of life for any of those?
24:34Because, again, going back to last week, Vlad was the only consistent part.
24:38And here, again, just 66 yards on four receptions.
24:41Vlad got a big play late in the game, like in complete trail mode.
24:45Quinton Johnson, third and 10 drop. That was a really bad one and a very high impact moment.
24:51Aranda Gadsden had a big drop. It was kind of like a ball was a little bit high from Justin Herbert.
24:57That was a big play. And then Lad McConkie, they had man coverage rep, like on the high red zone, throws it
25:04up there for a could be touchdown. And Lad McConkie and Justin Herbert weren't able to connect on that.
25:09And this is something that just Tom Brady was saying throughout the game is like when Lad McConkie is your number one
25:16and he's that small and he's like working on the football field, like you have to be so precise for that to work.
25:23And like you felt that from this past game here, nothing really explosive all the way down the football field.
25:29Justin Herbert had a really, really, really terrible interception.
25:32I do not know how he did not see the safety over the middle of the football field.
25:37I'll also mention there was another end zone interception from Justin Herbert.
25:41That one was called back on a holding play that I didn't really think that was involved in that place.
25:47That would have been a really bad second interception for Justin Herbert.
25:50And then on late downs, 54% pressure rate on late down snaps.
25:54So too many drops, not enough hero moments from Justin Herbert.
25:57And then like nothing came really easy here because all the runs to Martin Hampton weren't working.
26:02So a lot of the same old stuff from the Chargers offense here.
26:06And my last thing on them, Harbaugh makes way too many mistakes in just like punting the ball, going for it, all that type of thing.
26:14Like there was a situation fourth and three at the three yard line and they attempt a field goal.
26:20They miss it. There was also a play early in the game.
26:23Third and five is a run play for three yards to set up a fourth and fourth and two at the 13 yard line.
26:30After running it on third and five, they opted for a field goal.
26:34Then they have a fourth and four from the four yard line.
26:38They go for a field goal then. So it's like field goal, field goal, field goal, and like all of these like 50, 50 spots.
26:45And then later in the game now, because they're losing it's fourth and 10 at their own 45.
26:51And that's when they decide to go for a field goal.
26:54Like this is just like, it's really, really, or try to go for it on fourth down.
26:59It's just like really terrible management from Harbaugh way too conservative.
27:03Like really reminds me of the D'Amico Ryan stuff.
27:05We'll get to in a little bit, but like this team cannot be conservative.
27:09Their defense isn't good enough. Their offense isn't good enough.
27:12Like this team has to be aggressive in these situations.
27:15And Harbaugh continuously just is way too conservative and it really costs the Chargers early in this game.
27:21But my last question for you, Hayden, on the Buffalo side, Dalton Kincaid's been on a heater to start the season.
27:27And I did see the play where he was fighting for extra yards, fumbled the ball.
27:32Was it, was this just the product of the Chargers defended him really well?
27:36They said, we're going to take away Dalton Kincaid.
27:39Is there anything to worry about moving forward? Or do you just kind of, he's going to have one of those games.
27:46He's not going to smash every week, but I'm not worried about Kincaid.
27:49Like mostly the latter there. I mean, obviously the DJ more missing last week probably helped Dalton Kincaid out and DJ more had 10 targets on 26.
27:58Josh Allen dropbacks. Like that's a huge number for DJ more.
28:01And I think that the offense is going to funnel between the two of them.
28:05I will say just, I think when we go back and watch this game on all 22, I do think the Chargers
28:12were doing some, some interesting things in zone coverage.
28:15There's a lot of moments where Josh was kind of holding onto the ball for a tick longer, getting to like this fourth, fifth read in a play.
28:23That was like the Chargers defense playing a lot better in their like zone communication more than anything else.
28:29Just to finish up on the tight end note, Aranda Gadsden only played 39 of 69 snaps in this game.
28:35Far from a full-time player, zero receptions, zero receiving yards on top of it.
28:39And yeah, to your point Hayden, for teams that, you know, go for it on fourth down or don't.
28:45The number one thing is you have to be consistent with all of that, right?
28:49And it sounds like Harbaugh is just inconsistent with his decision making in those fourth down situations.
28:54Okay, let's talk about some fun teams. All right.
28:57Detroit at home improves to two and one as they beat the New York Jets 31 to 24.
29:02The Jets actually take a lead in the second quarter.
29:05Kenyon Sadiq, first round pick. Oregon, 24 yard touchdown down the seam versus a defensive back.
29:10Lays out for it. Just a sweet throw, a sweet grab that only had a 16% chance of being completed.
29:16They get it done. Lions respond with Amara St.
29:19Brown touchdown after a nice kickoff return. But the fireworks, and I mean real fireworks, really started in the second half.
29:25It has 17 yard Jameer Gibbs touchdown one of three on the day.
29:29You have to go back and watch this score.
29:32A crazy deceleration once he gets to the line of scrimmage.
29:35Cut back to the left. Acceleration to then pull away from the stop start defenders to win towards the front pylon.
29:42That's a 17-7 lead. Jets have a chance to respond.
29:45They get it down to the seven. But back-to-back sacks then forces them into a field goal situation.
29:50So let's keep in mind these four point plays.
29:53We go back and forth with a couple of touchdowns.
29:56Lions get the ball stuffed on fourth and two on their own 46.
30:00Speaking of Dan Campbell being aggressive in those fourth down situations.
30:03And then Garrett Wilson comes down with a sick double move touchdown on fourth and six.
30:08He was still interfered with but still came down with a grab.
30:11All square at 24 after our guy Sterling Shepard.
30:14Yes, he's on the Jets. Two-point conversion. But again, drive and the game comes down to an 11-yard receiving touchdown for Jameer Gibbs.
30:21And while the Jets, on their final drive of the game, get down to the 28-yard line, Garrett Wilson, who has his
30:27first 100-yard day, Hayden, since 2024, exits on the neck snap.
30:31And Geno Smith fumbles on an unblocked pressure for Chuck Clark.
30:34And the game is over. So while the Jets are one and two, they showed fight.
30:39They were feisty. Geno on the day, 31 of 37, 321 and three scores.
30:43But the five sacks in the end with a sack fumble close it out for the Lions.
30:48I think for the Lions, it's always just Jameer Gibbs and Amon Ross St.
30:52Brown in the end zone. I think just to me, my question for the Lions is, is the defense as bad as it was in the previous weeks?
31:01And it does seem like the answer to that was yes.
31:04And then the follow-up to that would be like, what does that mean for Sam Laporta and Jameson Williams?
31:10So those are like the ancillary pieces that we need to get into fantasy lineup.
31:14So just how bad was it for Detroit's secondary?
31:17Well, the secondary was rough. I mean, what? They're down like four safeties on top of this.
31:22So how good can you be? You know, they one of their corners was, you know, DPI and letting downfield shots and all that type of stuff.
31:30But at the same time, Hayden, it's kind of tough to gauge because it's not like the Jets had that many pass catchers out there.
31:38Like we know Sadiq is running down the middle and down the seam.
31:42And then Garrett Wilson is on the outside. But other than that, Ray, the huge talking point is Brees Hall leaving this
31:48game, I think, in the third quarter. Maybe it was actually in the fourth quarter.
31:53He got two carries at the four-yard line. And then the second one goes down with what looks like a thigh or quad injury.
32:00And those can linger and linger and linger for a while.
32:03So while Brees looked great early on, he looked good in other games this season, we might be seeing a time and
32:10a stint on the sideline for him. Well, Josh, I believe at the beginning of the season coming in, you put it
32:17out there that you thought this Jets team, at least offensively, would be a lot better than we had remembered or had thought about the Jets being.
32:25And I'm looking at them. And the first thing that's jumping out is how long have we been like wanting Garrett Wilson to be a thing?
32:32It seems like it's happening this year. He's not Jamar Chase.
32:36He's not JSN. It's not at that level. But this feels like you've got a top seven-ish, top eight wide receiver right here in Garrett Wilson.
32:44Rest of the way, I'm watching Braylon Allen. And I know they like to use him close to the goal line.
32:50And if Brees is out, do you think or would expect Braylon Allen to assume the majority of the rushing work?
32:56Or is it going to be a nasty committee here in New York?
33:00No, I think it'll be Braylon Allen. And I can't tell you how successful that'll be.
33:05He definitely has a different kind of, let's say, running style than Brees Salt.
33:09Yeah, I mean, to your point, Ray, the Jets are better than their 1-2 record.
33:14And these losses the last two weeks, 20-17 to the Packers, which in that game, by the way, Jordan Love only threw for 145 yards.
33:21The leading rusher on the opposition was 32 yards.
33:24I would assume that some Jets fans are frustrated by the coaching.
33:27And I would say Aaron Glenn had some maybe questionable decision-making at the end of the first half.
33:33And then, again, they only lose in a one-possession game here.
33:36But they have enough going on offense to get their best players the football.
33:40Again, it was Wilson and Sadiq. Wilson and Sadiq.
33:43And then, even on top of it, like, Jeremy Ruckett went 5 for 39.
33:47And he had a red zone touchdown on top of it.
33:51And even Jelani Woods has this awesome grab to himself along the sidelines.
33:55So while their rushing game only went, you know, 19 carries for 58 yards, they were still figuring it out in the passing game.
34:02And that gives me some hope and a lot more hope, Hayden, than I was expecting with Frank Wright heading into the season.
34:09That's for sure. Sadiq 105 yards and a touchdown with Mason Taylor out.
34:13Obviously, that night Mitchell injury. Like, that seems like that can linger for a little bit now.
34:18Like, tight end's really deep in fantasy. But where would you stack up Kenyon Sadiq going into next week?
34:23Okay. I think he has entered himself into the flex conversation for as long as Mason Taylor is out.
34:29Uh, there's like 14, 15 deep at tight end right now.
34:32But among these wide receivers that on a weekly basis are getting like 4 for 44 or these running backs that run
34:39into horrible matchups and they're in split backfields. I really think that we should be looking at these tight ends that are
34:46in favorable situations that are top two or three in terms of target getters on their team.
34:51That's where the NFL is right now. And Kenyon Sadiq, uh, he just ran some crossing routes over and over and won't
34:57have to catch on a few of them too.
35:00Um, I mean, eight targets, seven receptions, 105 yards is definitely the way to go.
35:05Uh, just quickly on that note, speaking of one of the wide receivers that constantly gives us a roller coaster, Jamison Williams
35:11had two targets on the first drive and two catches.
35:14Then I don't think got another target until the third quarter and he had another two catches on that drive.
35:20And that was it. So there are these moments that maybe on the sideline or heading into a game, it's like, okay,
35:27we got to get Jamo the ball and these outbreakers or, you know, force some things in his direction.
35:32And then yet he goes silent completely in between.
35:35So just four catches per 49 yards. Um, and Isaac Tesla somehow, some way actually is a 66 yards and tops the receivers.
35:42I mean, it comes down to that 49 yard that he caught, uh, after and over the middle of the field.
35:48So the lines are, are, are very straightforward and, uh, hopefully you had the one-on-one Ray to, uh, draft Jameer Gibbs because
35:55it's another three touchdown day for him. So let me ask you this, Josh, let me ask you this.
36:01Cause we talked about this lions team and this offense being great.
36:04And I just want to ask you is the lions offense actually that good schematically or is Jameer Gibbs just that good and changes the defensive math.
36:12Cause I'm, I mean, I'm in Ross, I'm around, you're not going to panic.
36:17I know he didn't have a lot of yards.
36:19He scored the touchdown, but I'm looking at this offense.
36:22Like it feels like it's, it's Gibbs or bust for, for a lot of Detroit.
36:27Ray, I don't want to, you know, spoil anything ahead, but they do play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night football and
36:33the Carolina Panthers might be out Mike Jackson and JC Horn on that Sunday night football game.
36:39So, uh, I think the lions might have an explosion, uh, next Sunday night.
36:43That's three straight games. The lions have finished with exactly 31 points too, which would lead the league in most seasons and
36:49over the next three games, Panthers defense, Cardinals defense and Packers defense.
36:53So, uh, this might be the sweet spot here for the Detroit lions.
36:57All right, Ray, we're headed to you. Speaking of the NSU South, every team is one and two or Owen to as
37:04the Las Vegas fricking Raiders are three and O on the season as they beat the saints 35 to 27 with a
37:10huge return of Brock Bowers, 10 catches, 116 yards and a score.
37:14Yeah, this is, I said it last week. If there was an early favorite for coach of the year, I think it would be Clint Kubiak.
37:22I I'm watching this Raiders team and this was not a cakewalk form.
37:25First quarter three zero, um, Las Vegas outgain, new Orleans 63 to 11, uh, as far as yardage output Ashton Gentry at three carries six yards.
37:33He really struggled in this one, but in the second quarter, uh, second year quarterback, Tyler Shuck really found his groove.
37:40And you look at what he did in the second quarter, 10 for 16 passing 91 yards and two touchdowns.
37:46And even through then Chris Olave only three catches 41 yards up to that point, nothing really happened in the third quarter.
37:52The game stayed 16 to 13, neither offense really separated.
37:55And then at the end, it was just absolute chaos.
37:58It was fun. Tyler Shuck got up to four passing touchdowns in this one.
38:02We finally saw Chris Olave's usage start to expand.
38:05He crossed over a hundred yards in that fourth quarter.
38:08Let me give you some history from this game.
38:11Six receiving touchdowns by tight ends in this game.
38:14The most in the NFL since 1981. It's the year of the tight end.
38:18Yeah, Noah Fant, Juwan Johnson, Brock Bowers. This was, this was a game of all the tight ends in, in the biggest takeaway from this Las Vegas side.
38:26Y'all I can't, we cannot. You look at this Raiders team.
38:29There's no real wide receiver of consequence, but Brock Bowers.
38:32I mean, Kirk cousins had like laser focus for number 89.
38:36He didn't score until the end, but Bowers going into half.
38:39He had seven for 87 at halftime for Brock Bowers and he finished with 116 yards and the touchdown.
38:45Ashton Gentey really struggled against this New Orleans defense to find rushing opportunity.
38:49The most explosive running play came from Mike Washington who had a big run in this game.
38:54Ashton Gentey, you're not worried about it because the volume was there.
38:5719 carries, but just couldn't find a lot of success.
39:00And on the other side of the ball, sticking with the running backs, it felt like y'all, this was the game.
39:07They said, all right, Travis HN, we're going to feed you.
39:10We're going to feature you. We're going to throw you the ball.
39:14We're going to, we're going to run you the right 13 carries 57 yards.
39:18He looked fine. But then in the third quarter, hamstring injury.
39:21And then all of a sudden you look up and it's Kendra Miller.
39:25It's Alvin Kamara bobbling, toss plays out of the backfield.
39:28But you just, you know, Tyler shock. It wasn't clean.
39:31It wasn't perfect. But Kellen Moore is just such a creative play caller.
39:35The way they utilize Juwan Johnson for more passing touchdowns.
39:38He was quite inefficient in this one. And the game ended on a Tyler shock throw to Juwan Johnson.
39:44It fumbled away. We were probably all watching that.
39:46But I mean, as long as they're going to continue to just air this thing out, I mean, Tyler shock is locked and loaded as a starter.
39:54Brock Bowers, absolutely dominant in this game. This was a really fun game.
39:58And again, the Raiders are three and Oh right now in an offense that like, if you've got to scream Kirk Cousins,
40:05you can do a hell of a lot worse than that.
40:08Wow. You got to give me the goods on Brock Bowers.
40:12How did he look like? How, how is he fitting in the Kubiak offense?
40:16Yeah. Like, is this JSN? Is this typical Brock Bowers?
40:19Everything. I'm not, no joke. I don't know what was wrong with him.
40:23The knee, what it didn't look like anything was wrong with Brock Bowers.
40:27Short down the field, crossing routes. It was hyper target Brock Bowers all over the field.
40:31They were putting two on him. He couldn't be stopped.
40:34He looked unstoppable. And if you're talking about a guy first game of the season, just back from the knee injury, and
40:41this is Bowers, let's just say 90%, 85%. Like this, this is your tight end one, but he's really like your wide receiver one for Las Vegas.
40:49Right. I, I know you said we shouldn't be worried about Ashton Jenty and he did get three catches for 37 yards.
40:56I am a bit worried about his rushing success on the ground right now over these last two games.
41:01And look, we're talking about the Chargers defense and the Saints defense here, right?
41:06He was 21 for 48 last week and 19 for 56 here.
41:09And we know obviously that Mike Washington had that long run of 36 yards on the touchdown.
41:14So is this just poor blocking up front? Is this something that can get fixed?
41:19I understand that once we get volume, no matter what on 22 touches, you should get there to a degree that is startable on a weekly basis.
41:27But, uh, I think this is the concern heading into the season that the Raiders offensive line just struggles to run block at this moment.
41:35I'll tell you their highly paid center was on the ground a lot more than I would have liked to seen Tyler Linderbaum.
41:41Um, I, I, when you guys watch that one back, you'll see him on the ground quite a bit.
41:47I'll just say this watching Jenty, you're not concerned because the volume is there.
41:51What was he dealing with coming in this season?
41:54The high ankle sprain? He doesn't quite look Jenty-esque right now.
41:57So maybe this is something that, hey, finish the game healthy.
42:01Maybe that, that ankle will heal up as we go.
42:04Mike Washington had the most explosive play, but they are very much committed to Jenty who, again, dropped off.
42:09I think two passes in this game as well after dropping about three last week.
42:14Like, catch the ball, Ashton Jenty, please. Yeah, I'm looking at the grades too.
42:18Ashton Jenty's getting lit up in pass protection, apparently.
42:21And then I saw a reporter saying that the trainers were looking at his ankles again on the sideline there.
42:27Look, man, Ashton Jenty has to break more tackles and show more explosiveness.
42:31It's, it's kind of that simple. I mean, this is, this is the second straight year of it.
42:36Like in this game, he did have like decent yards before contact.
42:40There's just like, he's not hitting enough explosives on the ground.
42:43And that's, it's kind of, it's very similar to what we had last year.
42:47And then when you get Mike Washington in there, and then he like, he immediately has a 36 yard touchdown.
42:53Like that was like the most well-blocked play either.
42:56Um, that's like, for example, I think I would rather have Brock Bowers and Ashton Jenty rest of season, just straight up.
43:03Like if I was doing a draft today, um, and I think like that, that was not, that was not, that was a no discussion two weeks ago.
43:11And I think at this point it would be Brock Bowers over Jenty in my rankings.
43:16Yeah. Interesting point. I think a lot of fantasy shows might, if you redrafted, take Ashton Jenty in the top 12.
43:22I can't wait to go back and rewatch this one.
43:25By the way, this Raiders offense gets the Kansas City Chiefs next week in a cool AFC West showdown.
43:31Um, you talk through it. We know about a lot of a, we know about Juwan Johnson.
43:36I mean, again, hopefully you have like George Kittle and Juwan Johnson, that we talked about so much this summer.
43:42That means you have four touchdowns from tight ends and you're playing both guys in the tight end spot and the flex.
43:49Um, A Chan entered this game with a hamstring.
43:51He exits with the hamstring. Ray, we always talk about running back insurance and condensed backfields and all those types of stuff.
43:58Is there any hope for the States backfield moving forward?
44:01What is it right now? I would, I would, I would recommend you find somebody else.
44:06Like, I would think that was fine. He, he, let me say he was NFL fine, but he, he looks like a
44:1230 year old running back that never really was used as a true do it all bell cow running back.
44:18Kendra Miller was getting lit up once he got into the game.
44:22It's Tyler shock. It's shock or bust. It's chuck it to down the field to Chris Olave, shuck it to Juwan Johnson and Kellen Moore, obviously trust him.
44:30I mean, they're throwing it all over the place.
44:3348 pass attempts for him. The efficiency wasn't there.
44:36There, there will be issues. If, if A Chan is going to miss time, there's going to be significant issues in that backfield.
44:43Sorry. I want to watch it from back up left tackle.
44:46Sorry, Josh. Yeah. No, you're good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
44:49Hey, I mean, you were because Banks was out, right?
44:52He's got a high ankle sprain. So he's not coming back anytime soon for, for new Orleans.
44:57Like, and it showed at the end. I mean, Chuck was under duress big time towards the end of that game.
45:03So it's, it's Chuck it's Johnson and it's Chris Olave moving forward from this offense that you really feel confident and comfortable putting in your fantasy lineup.
45:11Yeah. Saints get the Falcons next week. And then right after that, it's the Minnesota Vikings.
45:16Vikings. So, uh, they better get that offensive line, right against the Vikings and the past protection.
45:21That's for sure. Okay. Ray, we go from bad to worse for you as your Dallas Cowboys lose on the last second
45:28field goal to the Baltimore Ravens 34 to 31.
45:30Now positive. I think you could argue this is the best international game of all time.
45:35I mean, they gave the Brazilians a show down there.
45:38I mean, the Cowboys open 10, nothing Ravens, then go on a 24 to three run, two touchdowns by Derek Henry and
45:45a short touchdown catch by yes, Chris Moore. Um, I will say, I mean, obviously this game is back and forth.
45:51I won't talk through it all. Some of the more shocking elements was that Derek Henry was stopped at least twice in
45:58terms of turnover on downs and third and fourth and short situations.
46:01One on the goal line, uh, Jason Barham who stepped in here in the starting lineup, wears no gloves, no wrist tape,
46:08no elbow pads, just naked arms out there with long hair, uh, made play after play as a fill player.
46:14Um, and then for the Cowboys, I mean, yes, obviously everyone could have predicted Kevante Turpin getting two goal line touchdowns, uh, one and two passes.
46:22I think one, a jet sweep and then one, a receiving touchdown, but CD Lame and George Pickens, while they didn't find
46:28the end zone, we're just all over the place.
46:31Both had seven catches, 112 and 82 yards respectively.
46:34Kevante gets in there for a short yardage touchdown, but the game at the end and just the moment was, I'm going to say a ball.
46:42Don't lie type stuff where to me, Ray, as a unbiased person, I think a horrible call by the refs sets the
46:48Cowboys up at the one yard line. Uh, Nate Wiggins is trying to play the ball, gets his eyes turned yet.
46:55His arm is hooked with CD Lame. They call it DPI, which to me, it was preventing Nate Wiggins from catching interception, which would have ended the game.
47:03The Cowboys get it at the one or two yard line.
47:06They can only settle for a field goal tie game, seven seconds left, a 27 yard pass to Zay Flowers who played
47:13a lot more than let's say his five for 84 would suggest.
47:16And a lot more than I think was reported ahead of this game.
47:20Uh, and then Tyler loop walks it off with a suey 56 yard field goal in the end.
47:26So yeah, you can see here on the screen, just the up and down rollercoaster nature of this second half, some highs
47:32from both, but some lows from both as well here.
47:35Right? Yeah. I feel them. My heart still hurts from this one because I thought we'd be delayed in recording this because like, Oh, we're going to overtime.
47:44We got it. But as you said, ball don't lie because that was not a pass interference call.
47:49And I thought that was great. Great defense by Nate Wiggins down there.
47:53Very. And I want your take. Cause I'm watching this game clearly with some, a little bit of a bias lens.
47:59Yeah. Dallas's defense. I mean, they came to play.
48:02This would have been two weeks in a row.
48:05Oh, Ray Garvin would have been without a home because I would have bet my mortgage that Derrick Henry would have had
48:11150 yards in this game and gotten close to 200 yards, 3.4 an attempt on 26 carries.
48:17I thought the defense was phenomenal against him. And outside of a Lamar Jackson, a couple of runs, you know, later on,
48:23I know Lamar got down the field. Uh, the Derrick Henry, was there anything in this one that concerned you with, with Henry in particular?
48:31I mean, two touchdowns. I'm talking about him running the ball.
48:34Did he look like the King or, or, or was this just Dallas's defense, which has not been good against the run.
48:41Talk, talk about Derrick Henry. Yeah. Derrick Henry has always been an interesting runner in that he is this mammoth monster robotic of a build.
48:48And yet to me always needs a little bit of a runway to get going and look his best.
48:54And a bunch of those stuffed carries where when offensive linemen or lead blockers were stuck at the line of scrimmage and
49:00he kind of ran into the back of them and then took a couple of steps back and then tried to restart his momentum.
49:08So there's nothing different about Derrick Henry to me.
49:10It was more just this kind of shuffling Ravens offensive line.
49:14Like by the end of the game, Ethan Posich looks like he hyperextended his left knee.
49:18He exited their first round. And Vinga Ioni had to come in and snap footballs and play center on the game.
49:25The second to nearly game winning drive. I think he only had 14 snaps in his collegiate career back in 2024 and that's it.
49:32And they were still able to win. So I know they've already gone through two centers at this point and who knows
49:39if that is the case here, but Hayden, I kind of misspoke earlier.
49:43Zay Flowers only played 21 of like 60 something plays overall.
49:46And I guess to my eyes, I know Rashad even had a good week last week on the box score, but this
49:52offense really hasn't looked quite as good as it did in the first two quarters.
49:57Wednesday Flowers was a full-time player against the Indianapolis Colts.
50:00And ever since then, they're like trying to, you know, win in these moments of Lamar scrambles or here's a Mark Andrews
50:07broken tackle or those types of things. So I really wish we got Declan Doro with Zay Flowers completely healthy because I think fireworks are apparent.
50:14Yeah. The interesting part in this one, they had 30 series on offense.
50:18Baltimore had 21 of them started with a rush.
50:21Only nine of them started with the pass. This was like a very, very run heavy offense in this one.
50:27And they made the Zay Flowers stuff count. And obviously that big 27 yarder over the middle in an obvious must pass situation.
50:34But this is, I think, a team just trying to figure out exactly how potent they can be through the air, like
50:41beyond just like the Lamar Jackson and the Zay Flowers part of it.
50:44Like they're still trying to figure out what is like Mark Andrews and these backup tight ends.
50:50Like what is a Chris Moore and Tez Walker and like those type of guys.
50:54Could they trust them or not? Like in the meantime, there's like running the ball up the middle to Derrick Henry until proven otherwise.
51:01Yeah. There was a deep shot to Tez Walker early that drew a defensive pass interference.
51:06And then there was another one that was him in a one-on-one situation and he just like failed to attack the football.
51:13I mean, a better receiver would have gone up and at least had a chance on it.
51:18But that kind of shows you where they're at right now with, like we talked about, Tez Walker or LaJonte Wester or
51:24Chris Moore and these guys pop up. And then, yeah, if Flowers plays 21 snaps and then Bateman's also in there, then they somewhat cancel each other out.
51:33I'll be at Zay Flowers does get the 27 yarder at the end.
51:37So I apologize to everyone in the starts. It showed that we told to play Rashad Bateman.
51:42I was expecting him to be kind of the full-time wide receiver here.
51:46I was not expecting Zay Flowers to play. But again, even on 21 snaps, it shows you how important Zay is to this passing attack.
51:53Yeah. We're 21 snaps, six targets, five receptions, 84 yards.
51:56I just hope he gets fully healthy for the rest of the season from here on out.
52:01Josh, on Declan Doyle quickly, anything you see in this offense that reminds you of anything that was run with the Bears?
52:08Does it look completely different? Do they not have the personnel?
52:11Like is it, I know they won the game, but does the offense feel like a fruitful fantasy environment outside of the big names that we know?
52:19Um, no, I mean, I think it's going to be the Henry and Flower show.
52:24And then every once in a while, someone else will pop up in there.
52:28But one thing I firmly know is that Declan Doyle is weaponizing Lamar Jackson's mobility more so than maybe an injured Lamar
52:35that we've seen over the last year or last season, I guess.
52:38Some of the best plays were him kind of running around in the backfield.
52:43And some of it was designed to, hey, go this way and throw it back the opposite way or buy himself some
52:49time and get some players open or, hey, invite some pressure here, then climb up and we can scramble off that too.
52:56I mean, he had six carries for 50 yards.
52:58There have been times when he's been banged up that we haven't seen six carries for Lamar Jackson and he looks great with it.
53:06And Ray, just to go back to you, I don't think there's anything less to say about this Cowboys offense.
53:12It's good. It's fun. And yet here we are.
53:14It's a loss and they're one and two despite scoring 31 points.
53:18I've gotten, I have, yes, I have nothing to say.
53:21I got one thing for Josh. How about this?
53:24The decision after the game was tied up, there's seven seconds left and the Cowboys kicked the ball for a touchback instead of dribbling the ball out.
53:32And that one second was the difference there. I thought that was a really, really brutal decision by the Dallas Cowboys.
53:38Obviously, like the execution by Baltimore, that was awesome that they were able to complete the pass, get the timeout in and
53:45then kick the field goal on this turf. But that is just like shooting yourself in the foot there for the Cowboys.
53:51And they're typically a very well coached team. But that was that was a pretty brutal mistake.
53:56Yep. Yep. Fair. Okay. Next up, the Minnesota Vikings, another three and O squad as they topple the O and three Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
54:0423 to 16. I'm going to say it, guys.
54:06This was some vile and I mean vile football.
54:09There was a stretch in the second and third quarter.
54:12And I don't mean to be repetitive here, but it went punt, punt, punt, field goal, touchdown, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt,
54:19interception, field goal, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt.
54:21And those are all like three and outs. Those are all three and outs.
54:26It was a Spider-Man meme between Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray pointing at each other because both of them were dropping their
54:32eyes, doing the hokey pokey in the backfield and ending up under pressure and in sacks.
54:37Baker didn't even make it out of this game because on the final pass that he had an interception, it looks like
54:44he dislocated a finger on his right hand, his throwing hand.
54:47And Jalen Daniels finished this game. The undrafted rookie who earned a spot in the NFL and maybe is one of the
54:54better stories we can look out for moving forward.
54:56But yeah, I mean, there's not much to start off with other than Brian Flores's unit is one of the best in
55:03the NFL and it's something that we have to acknowledge on a weekly basis in fantasy football.
55:08The way that his Vikings defense puts the opposition into a blender and into confusion, again, is something that we have to
55:15and will impact fantasy points moving forward. Baker was 17 of 34 to 17 and took six sacks in this game.
55:21The pressure looks confused tight ends. The pressure looks forced running backs to stay in the backfield and just over and over and over again.
55:28And sure, Baker is probably the worst quarterback you won that situation because I mean, some dropbacks are 12, 14 seconds and
55:35they still end in a sack or quarterback hit or a one yard gain or a throw away and those types of things.
55:42But this impacted everyone. I will add, I don't think Emeka Guka looks awesome right now.
55:47I don't really see juice or explosiveness. It's kind of one note and he even took a huge shot from Josh Metellus.
55:53One of those where he catches it, takes a big shot to his neck and head area and loses control for a moment.
56:00So that is something I want to track moving forward because he did go to the sideline for a minute there.
56:07And then the opposite end for the Vikings. It really was just two plays for the entire day.
56:12It was two catches for Jordan Addison, a 30 yarder toe tapper along the sideline.
56:16And then that same drive, it ends with a 41 yard touchdown to him in a one on one situation.
56:22And maybe most notably to Justin Jefferson exits with an ankle injury early in this game for multiple series.
56:28We didn't know where he was. And then he's seen walking to the locker room and never returned.
56:34So there's a whole bunch injuries on both sides of questions and conclusions and news reports to follow throughout the week here, Hayden.
56:40Is it still too early to tell on the Justin Jefferson news?
56:44And is there anybody we can trust beyond Jordan Addison if Justin Jefferson is out?
56:49Absolutely not. I mean, they threw two passes to Juwan Jennings.
56:52He caught one for one yard. Looks like molasses out there.
56:55And then Ty Felton, two targets for zero yards.
56:58So the answer is no. Other than that, it was just dump offs to Aaron Jones.
57:03I mean, again, it's not like Kyler Murray was any better than Baker Mayfield.
57:07I mean, OK, maybe it take better because he didn't just go into complete negative situations.
57:12But he was only 15 to 29, 168 yards, one touchdown, one interception.
57:16And then his interception was a batted pass at the line of scrimmage.
57:20It bounces off an offensive lineman. And A'shaun Robinson grabs it off the turf before it hits the ground and sets them
57:26up at the 21 yard line for, again, a very important opportunity.
57:30And then, yes, Aaron Jones dominates the carries, but only gets 3.4 yards per carry against his Buccaneers defensive line and namely Vita Veya.
57:37So there's really no nothing to take away from this.
57:40And I still can't tell you exactly what the Kyler Murray led Minnesota Vikings passing offense is, Ray.
57:45And we're now entering week four of the NFL season.
57:48Yeah, I really don't know what to make of this.
57:51I watched this one a little bit just in passing.
57:54It was up on the TV. And I think the first play that I saw was when Baker Mayfield turned around and
58:01ran into Kenneth Gainwell trying to hand the ball off.
58:04I saw that a couple of times on Sunday where running backs and quarterbacks are running into each other.
58:10That's what my six-year-old son's team did today, not what a newly paid $50 million quarterback and the running backs in the NFL should do.
58:17Listen, I told people on the Starts It show, I don't want any Aaron Jones.
58:22I just, Kevin O'Connell was supposed to be one of these, the brightest minds, the offensive gurus.
58:27We saw him do it with Darnold and I'm just looking like, man, if Jefferson is out with Hayden, like is there,
58:33I mean, do you want to play Addison? You're going to play Bucca week in and week out.
58:39Maybe he's still got some lingering effects from his, I believe, ankle injury over training camp.
58:44This Baker Mayfield hurt again on a final play.
58:46This happened against the Rams a few years. I just, this just, you punt, punt, punt, punt, whatever you said.
58:52This just, Godwin is unplayable. Like, is there any, what is the, leaving this game, who do you, the game, who do
58:59you feel confident in playing next week? I will say Chris Godwin had an 85 yard touchdown taken away, rightfully so, because
59:06the right tackle in Luke Kadecki held again, Dallas Turner, who had a one-on-one hit on Baker Mayfield, but he was behind
59:12him and pulled them off of him basically. And so Baker then scrambled another six seconds and found Chris Godwin down the field.
59:19And then I do want to shout out Ted Hurst, who yes, on the first drive only has one catch for 40
59:26yards, but it's down the seam for an awesome gain.
59:29And Ted Hurst nearly had a great stat line.
59:31And maybe that's going to be the tale of his rookie season, that it was all nearly type stuff, but he was playing a lot of snaps.
59:40That's for sure. And Jalen Millen left this game again with, with an injury.
59:44That comment that production pulled up on Kevin Seifert, I think is really telling here, Hayden, where the Vikings are three and
59:50O, but they've been out gained by 244 yards.
59:53So yes, that's the second worst differential in total yards by any three and O team in NFL history after the 2020 Seahawks.
60:00I mean, that 2020 Seahawks team, pretty good defense.
60:03This Vikings team, pretty good defense. And Hayden, in today's age, if you have a defense that plays to this degree and
60:09forces this many sacks and turnovers, it keeps you in games as the offense can figure things out as the season goes along, hopefully.
60:17Yeah. Dallas Turner is turning just into a really impact player, seven pressures in this one.
60:21And he gets a lot of like one-on-ones against, you know, like players that should not be blocking him because of the
60:28scheme, but he's making the most out of it.
60:31And then I'm just still trying to get a feel for what this Kevin O'Connell offense is going to be.
60:37They've been really run heavy in the first two games.
60:40I was like, is that a Carson Wentz thing?
60:42And then they had 21 series in this game and they started with a rush on 12 of 21, which is an
60:49above average clip again in this one. And that's against Tampa Bay, which typically is a pass funnel.
60:54So throughout our entire time with Kevin O'Connell calling plays, it's been one of the most pass heavy offenses.
61:00And then all of a sudden this year, it's one of the most run heavy offenses.
61:05Are the runs working? They're, they're really not working that well.
61:08It's like, that's like something I just want to monitor as, you know, hopefully Justin Jefferson's not out for very long.
61:15Yeah. For the DeMond Claiborne people, three carries for one total yard for him in this game.
61:20And again, there are some units that were supposed to carry certain teams, right?
61:24The Vikings and their defense here, the Bucks and Vita Vea stopping the run.
61:28Unfortunately, their pass rush that they invested so much in Ruben Bain, I believe missed this game.
61:33Yaya Diaby left early on and was kind of in and out and failed to make an impact.
61:39And then the Bucks offensive line, like, look, this is tough, but, and it's tough blocking for Baker Mayfield, who is a magnet to contact too often.
61:47But I would say the Bucks offensive line has been a bit of a letdown so far this year versus heading into the season.
61:54Some expectation that might be a top three unit across the league.
61:57Go ahead. Next week, Bucks versus Packers. Do we have a head coach fire off Josh?
62:02Oh no. Oh no. Here's the thing. If you're fired Todd Bowles now after letting Liam Cohen get out of the building
62:09or even Dave Canals getting out of the building, I think fans might revolt from that.
62:14But maybe, maybe that Packers defense will make Jalen Daniels look like the new young mobile athletic quarterback across the league.
62:20And we have some fireworks, some fireworks there. Okay.
62:23I mean, Ray, I'm going to say week three is a bit of a downer and nobody is more down bad than Drake May right now.
62:3114 of 25, 199 yards, two interceptions, a fumble.
62:33His Patriots get demolished by the Jacksonville Jaguars. 35 to six.
62:37T-Law, another three passing touchdowns. Basial Tootin, a gifted one yard rushing score.
62:40And then Parker Washington, three for 40 and a touchdown.
62:43I know we can talk about the Jags here, Ray, but what the heck is going on with Drake May?
62:49Yeah, I tweeted this out. I tweeted out. I said, the Patriots look like a team without an offensive identity that clearly overperformed last season.
62:57This isn't something that will just in quotes get better.
63:00If AJ Brown's absence is enough to make this offense look this pedestrian, everyone should be extremely concerned, lifeless, directionless, big problems.
63:07Big, big problems for this New England offense. And you've got to go deeper than just the box score here.
63:13Let me just read this for you for old Drake May, who actually had two fumbles.
63:17One was lost. They just recovered another one. New England generated negative 0.4 EPA per pass play.
63:23Although Drake May's average depth of target was still 11 and a half yards down the field.
63:28Average time to throw was 3.26 seconds. Jacksonville pressured on 54% of dropbacks.
63:32And they did that while only blitzing 13 and a half percent of the time.
63:36Drake May, listen, this is bad. When their most consistent offensive weapon is Mack Hollins, who should have had a touchdown right
63:43over Travis Hunter in the end zone, just hit off the top of his hands.
63:47He led them in receiving. He looked like their most explosive weapon.
63:51Drake May looks confused. The offensive line is terrible right now.
63:54They cannot run the ball. I don't know what they're doing in the backfield with Travion Henderson and Ramondre Stevenson.
64:00There's nothing explosive about this offense. And yet, when you look at the total yards, New England outgained Jacksonville technically by two yards in this game.
64:08And it was not close. This, we can talk about Jacksonville and there are some numbers there that are a little concerning.
64:15And not because Parker Washington didn't score, but this New England offense, if it was predicated on A.J.
64:20Brown being there and that's why this looks so bad.
64:23I mean, Drake May, I'm looking at their next four.
64:26Their next four, Buffalo, Las Vegas, New York, and then potentially a Caleb Williams back Chicago Bears team.
64:31I don't know if they win any of those games.
64:34Offensively, lifeless, directionless, pedestrian. This does not feel like something that's just going to get better.
64:39If you include the postseason through week three, the Patriots are now fourth worst in EPA per play.
64:45They're having the most sack, the highest sack rate as well.
64:48They're not generating nearly as many explosives. And like, that's your schedule tweets.
64:52You know, like Jacksonville's defense, Seattle's defense from this season.
64:55Obviously, all the postseason matchups like that's the schedule tweets.
64:58Their offensive line isn't isn't very good. Drake May is forcing passes that he has no business forcing.
65:03He's making very dumb decisions out there. And then in isolation, like they just don't have a go to pass catcher right now.
65:10And then they're running backs are very hit and miss on on what you're getting out of Travion.
65:16So that'd be like the part I would be curious about.
65:19I was like, out of all of the like secondary pieces, like is there anybody that we can rely on?
65:25Or is this like quickly becoming a team where like I might say like you should be starting nobody from this entire offense in fantasy?
65:32Yeah. I mean, just to press back on that.
65:35Couldn't you argue last year that there was no go to player either?
65:39You know, but they ran hot in terms of 10, 20 plus yards down the field.
65:44The tight window stuff was unbelievable. And is it just as simple as I mean?
65:48Drake May played really well against average and bad defenses, and now they're facing good to quality opponents.
65:54Then they literally have nothing. They have no alternative.
65:56And if Drake May isn't again running hot with the tight window stuff and then comparatively completely regressing in terms of holding
66:03on to the football or throwing dumb interceptions in the red zone, then they literally have no chance.
66:08Like he, I guess, carried them last year despite the supporting cast.
66:12And then this year without A.J. Brown, Ray, they have no supporting cast.
66:16And he's also letting them down with some of his mental errors.
66:20Well, you use the word carry. I think that's what they have to do.
66:24He did have a, I think it was close to like a 15 yard rushing touchdown called back.
66:29It was a holding call. So they had to come back.
66:32The only thing I can think of is he needs to run more, but he looks very skittish in the pocket.
66:39And when you think about the weapons in the offensive line, they ran out 11 personnel 71.7% of the time for an consumer sports.
66:46So you're putting your quarterback in a position to just invite pressure.
66:50Jacksonville was getting home and they did not blitz.
66:5213% of the time they blitzed and they're just, they're making life uncomfortable for May.
66:57I don't know what's going on with McDaniels and this offense.
67:00And you see right here on the screen, they're pushing, they're trying to throw the ball down on field, but there's nowhere to go.
67:07There's nobody to throw the ball to down the field outside of, and we're laughing, Mac Hollins.
67:12I'm looking around like that's, you just got to throw it to Mac Hollins.
67:17Just try to get it to 13. That's the best thing that they can do.
67:21Ramondre and Trevion, this nasty split between these two.
67:24There was a point in time where I had to look at my, is Trevion hurt?
67:29It was just Ramondre up the gut for a yard, Ramondre up the gut for two yards.
67:34I really don't think there is anybody you can start inside of this offense right now.
67:39A long carry of five yards a piece between the two of Hindo and Ramondre.
67:43Hey, I know we can say this and I just want to repeat it because we already have.
67:48You have to completely disassociate Drake May of where you drafted him in fantasy this year as quarterback three, right?
67:54Like almost any other quarterback is a better alternative at this point.
67:58Yeah. And there's like too many Tyler Shucks in like that whole tier.
68:02Like you just have to play those guys ahead of them.
68:05But even like the next tier, like the Geno Smith tier is better than what Drake May is putting out there over the first three weeks.
68:13It is that bad at this point. But Ray, just quickly on Jacksonville, talk me through Basial Tootin's touchdown because it was a gift from his quarterback.
68:21Was it not? Yeah, it came much later down there.
68:24Trevor Lawrence, I think the fantasy people are upset about that going down and giving Tootin one like Trevor Lawrence could have scored there.
68:31But Tootin looked good in this game. And I know we keep talking about him maybe not being this super high volume
68:38running back, but I'm just watching him play. He ran the ball really well in this game.
68:43And I would love to see them increase his usage a little bit more down the stretch as we progress towards the middle of the season.
68:51This Jacksonville team is a weird one because maybe they knew that New England just couldn't threaten him offensively.
68:57But just when you look around at all the pieces and what Jacksonville was doing, let me just give you some personnel percentage usage.
69:0453% 11, 30% of the time they ran 12, and then 13%, 13 personnel.
69:08And all the receivers were cycling in. Right? Yep.
69:11I want to make sure I frame this carefully.
69:13Parker Washington is their best wide receiver in my opinion.
69:16Okay? He's their best guy. But that does not mean he's going to be peppered with 15-plus targets every single week.
69:23Like, it's Liam Cohen's just kind of spreading it around.
69:26It's Jacoby Myers here. It's not Brian Thomas, but he's just a gnat.
69:30He's just, he's out there and he gets a couple of targets here.
69:34Britton Strange gets a little bit of usage there.
69:36Parker Washington had a touchdown callback. They went right back to him and he scored again.
69:41You would like to see him sort of just each week, you could just depend on eight, nine, ten targets.
69:47And it just, it feels like Liam Cohen is just, Trevor Lawrence is going to spread it to whomever's open.
69:53Washington looks awesome. This Jacksonville team just, I don't know if they've really been in a position to where they have to
70:00just gun it all over the place and hyper-focus on somebody.
70:03I thought the best offensive player for Jacksonville, despite the gift of the touchdown, Tootin looked really well.
70:08When you watch this one back, you'll come away saying, hey, this is somebody that I'll bet they get him more involved as we move down the season.
70:17Yeah, Basal Tootin drafters got what they want, which is the socialism, that little free touchdown at the end there, just cherry on top.
70:24I like that Trevor Lawrence at least admitted what his incentive was over there.
70:28I think that Parker Washington is just going to have better days.
70:32He's playing almost a full-time role. I just looked at it again.
70:36Again, Brian Thomas is playing half as many snaps as Parker Washington and Jacoby Myers.
70:40It is a complete, total, total difference in Parker Washington versus Brian Thomas.
70:44We've known this for the last couple of weeks, but once again, it happened.
70:48Yeah, I put Brian Thomas Jr. on the drop list on last week's waiver show.
70:53By the way, subscribe so you get this week's waiver show after Monday Night Football.
70:57And nothing is from what's happening from a target standpoint, even a route standpoint, has made me think otherwise.
71:03And once again, we have Josh Cameron popping in for a red zone 12-yard touchdown.
71:07So it's too tight end stuff. And then they're also getting Josh Cameron involved in some situations.
71:12Ray, I also want to add that Travis Hunter got an interception in this game.
71:17He did. He did. And it was, you can tell he was happy.
71:21Like, he did dance in the end zone. It was good to see the defensive side show up.
71:26He got in on offense and nothing his way offensively.
71:29I just quickly want to check where, Hayden, if you can help me with the defensive snaps for Travis Hunter.
71:3545 of 63 for Travis Hunter. 45 of 63.
71:38There we go. That's a little bit better than last week.
71:41That's a little bit better. Okay. I just want to be fair, you know, when criticizing the usage last week, then bringing
71:48it up and bringing it up as a talking point here.
71:51Okay. Let's stick in that division and talk about the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts.
71:56In the end, Colts win 19-17. Hayden, I know I tweeted this out like halfway through the third quarter or something that this Texans offense looked miserable.
72:04It was three yards a carry for DeMont. There's a lot of open space over the middle on the Indianapolis side.
72:10But for the Texans offense, just brutal performance from the interior.
72:14Once again, there's like plays like Wyatt Teller's like in beat right away.
72:18David Montgomery, 18% rushing success rate in this one.
72:20And it's the same rotation. Like David Montgomery gets a full drive and Woody Marks gets a full drive.
72:26What does that mean? Woody Marks gets a goal line touchdown at the very end of the game.
72:31There's also a play action touchdown to Foster Moreau, not Dalton Schultz.
72:35Foster Moreau gets the touchdown. And on that play, Woody Marks is at the goal line too.
72:40So if you thought this is going to be David Montgomery getting all the goal line work, absolutely not.
72:46Whoever's on the football field, the last play will be on the football field at the goal line.
72:51That's what the Texans are doing. And it doesn't matter which running backs out there.
72:56Neither of them are going to pick up any yards behind this offensive line.
73:00So like that's like the first part of it.
73:03I think the second part of it, this is by far the slowest offense in the NFL.
73:08If you did a four by 100 race from any of the quarterback, the running back rooms, throw the wide receivers in
73:14there, get the tight ends going dead last in the NFL.
73:18And I looked this up. I was like, all right, how can I quantify this?
73:22And I looked at contested catches to wide receivers.
73:25The Texans have 24 this season. The next closest offense has 16.
73:29That is that is a gap that should not exist.
73:32And you feel that for CJ Stroud in this one.
73:35He took a couple sacks, but it wasn't even necessarily that.
73:38There's just no yards after the catch from the wide receivers.
73:41There's nobody open. And that was with the Indianapolis defense.
73:44One that was getting completely shredded in every capacity going into this game.
73:48So like this is an Owen three team because the offense is that bad.
73:52Whatever Nico Collins is making, you should pretty much triple it because without him, like this team is completely unwatchable.
73:58And that's even before I get to D'Amico Ryan's, which I want to take some shots at.
74:03Yeah. Hey, I honestly just looking at the box score here, I did not watch much of this game.
74:09I had eyes on it because my bold prediction was Josh Downs to get 100 yards and a touchdown.
74:15And when I saw an Indianapolis receiver getting the end zone, I was like, there we go, Josh.
74:20And it's like, no, that's Keenan Allen right there.
74:23Honestly, they say Nico may be back next week against the Dallas Cowboys.
74:27Where was Dalton Schultz at? Why is Xavier Hutchinson at the top of the box score?
74:32And was David Montgomery's 20 carries, three touchdown week one?
74:35Was that just dead zone? Was that just what that fool's go there?
74:39Like, is that, you know? Did we all not after that game watch it and be like, that wasn't anything special?
74:45Like there was a play right up the middle for David Montgomery that went completely untouched, but every other carry went for nothing.
74:52And like, that was just kind of the exception.
74:55He was not like the leading player in terms of snaps and any of the games, but before this one, same thing
75:01here, it's going to be a 50, 50 backfield and like truly like 50, 50 in every single capacity.
75:07And for my money, I think Woody Marks is better than David Montgomery.
75:11Just watching these two in terms of the pass catchers, like Xavier Hutchinson, Kay Sean, Dalton Schultz, like these guys are going
75:17to like, just like switch back and forth as Nico Collins comes back.
75:21Apparently Nico Collins is quote progressing well from the D'Amico Ryan's part of it, but just no one's fast enough to get open here.
75:28And obviously when Dalton Schultz goes crazy the week prior, they probably have a little bit better of a game plan, but definitely a disappointing game.
75:36Only getting three targets out of Dalton, Dalton Schultz didn't want to quickly hit on D'Amico Ryan's couple of things that happened.
75:43Here with, with D'Amico. I think D'Amico Ryan's is trending towards being one of the most overrated coaches in the NFL.
75:49You watch this Texans defense pass rush and those guys just get home immediately.
75:53And like, obviously he knows what he's doing on defense here, but there are just too many huge mistakes on offense, either
76:00hiring the wrong offensive coordinators, not having a plan to fix the offensive line.
76:04And then the in-game decisions, uh, there was a field goal attempt.
76:08They were down 16 to seven at the fourth, uh, it was a fourth and four at their own six yard line in the fourth quarter.
76:16They're down 16 to seven and they kick a field goal.
76:19And that one, then later in the game, the Colts are marching.
76:23The Texans have a lead now 17 to 16.
76:25The Colts are marching. They just need to get a kick, a field goal to win this game.
76:31There's a run play. Jonathan Taylor runs the ball.
76:33The clock is ticking. And instead of taking a timeout right away to save the Texans time, because now they're in field
76:40goal range to have a chance to win the game.
76:43The clock is ticking, ticking, ticking, ticking, ticking. And then with like a three seconds left on the play clock, that's when D'Amico Ryan's calls the timeout.
76:51So not only did you waste like the 30 seconds, but you also waste the timeout that you needed for the, for the offense.
76:58The Colts kick a field goal. The Texans have a chance, uh, barely any time left.
77:03They throw a hail Mary ball goes out of bound game over.
77:07But that's just like throwing away way too much in game win probability with both the field goal attempt near the goal line.
77:14And then the decision of to not take the timeout earlier in the play.
77:18They're like too many of these things are stacking up for D'Amico Ryan's.
77:22And I think that to the big picture part is like, we knew the offensive line was going to be such a
77:28disaster and they just don't do enough to fix it.
77:31And we felt that the entire game here. Texans and two of their next three games have the Cowboys and the Jaguars.
77:38So we'll see what they look like after six games this season.
77:42I quickly do want to ask you Hayden, cause this seems a very uncult like performance.
77:46Obviously they win at home, but they throw for 235 yards and only get 89 rushing yards out of the entire thing.
77:53So this entire game plan, it was just put on the shoulders of Daniel Jones.
77:58And so that ends with five for 77 for Josh Downs, almost a mirror of what he did last week.
78:04Keenan Allen six for 63 and a touchdown. And then Tyler Warren nine for 55.
78:08I mean, Willie Anderson and Daniil Hunter just absolutely roasted the Colts offensive line.
78:12Daniel Jones had a fumble early. I will say this.
78:15Daniel Jones got out of the pocket on a fourth down in truck stick.
78:19I forget which defender it was. It might have been like Derek Sting or something like that.
78:25It was by far the most athletic play he's made on the season.
78:28That said, the Colts offense is the fear that we have.
78:32No completions beyond 20 air yards in this one.
78:34Oh, for three with an interception. The interception was like a third and six, just throwing the ball way up a prayer
78:41as Daniel Hunter's absolutely lighting up Daniel Jones. So I think a couple of things that stood out is like the offensive
78:48tackle play for Indianapolis is not as good in 2026 as it was in like 2023.
78:52So you felt that against like elite competition. You have nobody to win down the football field.
78:58And still, I think that Shane Steichen is awesome as a coach.
79:01Like they got Josh Downs going like early in this game.
79:05RPO slants, little out routes. He had like a 40% target share going into halftime.
79:09Tyler Warren had a truck stick early on. There was a cover two hole shot in this one.
79:14So more stuff a little bit further down the field for Tyler Warren and that Keenan Allen touchdown that ripped your heart out, Ray.
79:22That was a little mesh concept. And to the Texans defense point, they were trying to communicate that as Keenan Allen was working across the end zone there.
79:30And the last linebacker did not shuffle out in time for a touchdown to Keenan Allen.
79:35So I think that there's going to be a weak spot on the Texans defense.
79:39And you have to figure this out quickly because those passwords are going to come home.
79:44Throw the ball over the middle quickly. And this entire game, when you guys go back and watch it, very, very few plays to the perimeter.
79:52Everything was quick and over the middle. Obviously, that's what happens when you have Josh Downs, Tyler Warren, and Keenan Allen.
79:58But it's like something to keep in the back of your mind as you watch the Texans defense too.
80:04Hey, this is a fear of mine. Okay, with Alec Pierce going out, was Keenan Allen getting involved more than I would like?
80:11I'm looking at the box score. Only three wide receivers, designated wide receivers, touched the ball for Indianapolis.
80:16It was Downs, it was Keenan Allen, and it looks like Laquan Treadwell had one.
80:21I like the targets with Josh Downs having the 11 and Tyler Warren having the 10.
80:26But Keenan Allen right there with nine targets got the red zone look.
80:30Like, I'm just, I don't know if you were paying attention or you have all the numbers for the deployment who was on the field in certain situations.
80:38But is Keenan Allen going to be a big thorn in the side of Josh Downs?
80:43Do you think with Alec Pierce being out? I think to some degree.
80:47Obviously, everyone operates in the same parts of the football field here.
80:50I think that's going to be the frustration. And Keenan Allen is so much bigger than Josh Downs.
80:56Like, maybe in the red zone, they might look towards Keenan Allen.
80:59But Keenan Allen is still a limited player. In this game, he had some very clutch moments here.
81:05But there was not like, wow, that's vintage Keenan Allen, who I think is now 12th in receiving touchdowns all time.
81:11I think that's what they said on the broadcast there.
81:14So the good news is Laquan Treadle was a full-time player and he gets one target in this one.
81:20So like, that is like your wind sprint role.
81:22And that's nice to have. And then everything else is going to be underneath.
81:27So I thought Daniel Jones played like pretty well.
81:29All things considered here. A couple bad plays. But man, like the Daniel Hunter and especially Will Anderson, it's like hard to
81:36overstate exactly what they did in this one. Because without like Willie Anderson, like the Texans would have lost by like third.
81:43All right, Ray, the Cleveland Browns are two and one as they beat the Carolina Panthers in their home debut, 21 to 18.
81:49And Todd Monken said his team is just scratching the surface.
81:53Now, I would hope so on some level because this Browns offense, I mean, Deshaun Watson turns it up in the fourth
81:59quarter with a touchdown drive to win the game.
82:02But really just 144 yards and two scores. Quincy on Judkins, 18 carries 70 yards.
82:07Harold Fannin makes good with two goal line touchdowns.
82:09But other than that, it's like Denzel Boston, two for 41.
82:13Casey Concepcion, nine targets, two receptions, nine yards. And Ray, I know you saw those targets.
82:17They were wayward. He had to be eight feet tall to get a hand on some of those.
82:23That's for sure. Every week, Deshaun Watson almost has like three interceptions in a game.
82:27He didn't play well in this game, but he ran well.
82:31And if he's going to scramble around and pick up a whole bunch of yards with his legs, I'm watching this one.
82:37And the biggest thing that I took away is both quarterbacks, Watson nor Bryce Young, played particularly well.
82:43But in the fourth quarter, they showed flashes and shades of like the college versions of themselves in the fourth quarter, taking their team down the field.
82:51The drive by Deshaun Watson to win it was beautiful.
82:54Like that was a great final drive to get the ball down the field.
82:58He used his legs. He hit receivers. The Browns did what they needed to do in their home opener.
83:04Watson was not great in this one. I just don't want people to...
83:08The two touchdowns, the 45 yards, Harold Fannin, that's great.
83:11But Watson, again, throwing the football did not look great.
83:14I thought he looked best when he was running around.
83:17Josh, I know you watch a lot of Panthers.
83:19Bryce Young in the pocket at times is very magical.
83:22The way that he can escape pressure and step up in the pocket.
83:26And sometimes it gets him in trouble. I mean, he had Tommy Trimble wide open for a touchdown, decides to kind of roll around and get sacked.
83:34And that just, this was a rough game until like the last few minutes of the game.
83:39They ran the ball with Chuba Hubbard 10 times for 18 yards in the first half.
83:44They just kept slamming it to Chuba. One of the linemen, Hunt, got injured early.
83:49I think he came back in. Jalen Coker got hurt in this game.
83:53And that's what's concerning. You tell me Bryce Young throws the ball 50 times and McMillan only gets five targets?
83:59Like maybe it was just an off day. Maybe it was the first time Carolina faced a defense that was hot for them.
84:06But they're just, you'll watch this one back. And they're just some maddening, head-scratching calls in this game.
84:11The best part of it from the Cleveland side, Judkins kept getting fed and he had a couple of big runs.
84:17But he didn't look special in this one either.
84:20Harold Fannin Jr. looked like, okay, just get the ball to him.
84:24And Deshaun Watson running around was like the big takeaway here for the Cleveland side.
84:28So a couple things. The first one, I think either on the show with Boone on Thursday or Hayden with you in
84:35the wide receiver rankings, I said if Deshaun Watson doesn't turn the football over, the Browns win this game.
84:40And he did not turn the football over. But boy, did he try.
84:44He tried. The Panthers dropped a pick six on like the first drive and then another overthrown pass to Casey Concepcion that
84:51fell right in the lap and they dropped it.
84:54They also, he avoided three sacks. You could also say the Panthers should have taken him down for three sacks.
85:00And then in the end, there was a fourth quarter on the game winning drive interception in the end zone that kind
85:06of would have sealed the game for the Panthers if they had gotten one more first down.
85:11And they called it roughing the passer penalty, which I can totally see.
85:15There was kind of like he lunged forward on the throw and defensive line went and hit him in the head and all this type of stuff.
85:23So it's not an awful call at all. On the Panthers end, the Jalen Coker thing is a big deal because he
85:30comes in with an ankle, leaves with a quad.
85:33And I don't know if it's, you know, over estimating and overcompensating and all that type of stuff.
85:38But the quad injury, I believe, and I can't tell you which leg it was, kept him out of the start of last season.
85:45And that was a long injury. And without Jalen Coker on this team, all the Browns did was play man coverage against
85:52TMAC on Denzel Ward on the outside and ISO.
85:55And then no one else can win in isolation at all.
85:58No one else can get open. And so you just play man coverage and you pass rush and you blitz.
86:04I think Bryce Young was pressured on 30 of his 48 passing attempts here today.
86:08That's rough stuff. That's 61% of the time. So, yeah, that leaves you with two receptions for 17 yards at Hayden.
86:15And you're going to go back on Monday and watch this and see if he was creating separation at all.
86:21Well, my question is, who survived this Panthers? You mentioned both corners might be out.
86:25Linemen are out. Coker's out. I know Bryce Young was limping around a little bit.
86:30What is the actual status of the important players?
86:33Who is healthy on the Panthers? Yeah. Yeah, it's rough because, again, they are 1-2 and face the Lions on Sunday Night Football.
86:39Mike Jackson left very early on with a groin injury.
86:42JC Horn left with also a quad injury himself.
86:45Jalen Coker, early on in the first quarter, quad injury.
86:48Basically seen in tears on the sideline. Bryce, I think, gets stepped on by his offensive linemen.
86:53And he has an ankle issue throughout the entire game and missed some, I would say, inexcusable passes, but unlike him this season so far.
87:01And Damian Lewis was kind of in and out.
87:03And then Mitchell Evans left on top of it, too.
87:06So, I don't know. This, again, TMAC, you could say, okay, it was Denzel Ward.
87:11At the same time, again, I rewatched it from the eye in the sky.
87:15But you would like to think that someone like that can create more separation.
87:19And I just don't think he could, just from watching it.
87:23If he was getting open, I think what Bryce Young is playing right now, he would be able to get him the football.
87:30And he could not do it. He did not.
87:32The only one, he did not. And there was a play on the end zone, and it was not Denzel Ward.
87:39It was number 28. It was a backup cornerback.
87:41Draped all over TMAC on an end zone target.
87:44I know they said they put on weight in the offseason.
87:47I'll also just say his body language does not look great out there.
87:51It is not Marvin Harrison Jr. levels of body language.
87:54But it does not look like a second-year player coming off a 1,000-yard season.
87:58And the answer to the separation question was no.
88:01He was not creating much separation at all in this game.
88:04Yeah. And again, I'll just close with, like, the Panthers are pretty solvable if they don't have Jalen Coker.
88:10You know? It's, you play isolated coverage with their best corner against TMAC, and then you just pressure.
88:16And you blitz. And you kind of suffocate this offensive line that is allowing way too many hits over the first few weeks of the season.
88:23Josh, it's the announcers were saying in the game, in assault, they said they need to get Jalen Coker the ball because he's their best receiver.
88:31That's what the announcers were saying in the game.
88:34They were like, he's their best receiver. They need to get him the ball at some point.
88:39And I'm just like, wow. Yeah, there was a play that Bryce hit on the first two weeks that he did not
88:46hit this one where Coker, like, had a step for maybe even a long touchdown, and he overthrew it by one or
88:52two, and this was after he got stepped on.
88:55So that's, again, a pass that he hit in the first two weeks.
88:59And again, Xavier Ligot also missed this game too.
89:02So yeah, just rough stuff all around. And like you said, while Chuba Hubbard's stat line looks fine from a yards per
89:08carry standpoint at the end of the game, the first half it was non-existent.
89:12They couldn't move the ball at all. It was 10 carries for 18 yards.
89:17So yeah, that's it. Okay. Hayden, we have to talk about a running back.
89:21And unfortunately, it is bad news here with the Chiefs and the Dolphins.
89:25And I think we can all assume how, you know, this one ended in a huge blowout victory for the Kansas City Chiefs 24-10.
89:32But Devon A. Chan leaves quite early in this game as they put an awkward tackle, knee injury.
89:37Hayden, what's the latest news? What's the diagnosis? What should we expect from the backfield mates that stepped up in his absence?
89:44After the game, they said, quote, does not sound very optimistic.
89:47The fear could be an ACL or meniscus type of injury there.
89:51It was a shame because like immediately slot work, he gets a pitch in this one, a little check down in the
89:57flat and then in the open field, just kind of a really awkward play.
90:02He might've even done it the step before the face mask there, but just does not look good for Devon A.
90:08Chan. They did not have a third running back in this game.
90:12It was Ollie Gordon. Jalen Wright was limited, limited DNP with a foot injury before being inactive there.
90:17So it was Ollie Gordon. They were asked about why they don't have a third running back.
90:22And the reason is because they really like Malik Washington.
90:25They Malik Washington knows both positions and Malik Washington without Devon A.
90:29Chan, I think they're going to unfortunately be a pretty important player.
90:32Like probably enough. So to be at least like waiver wire curious while Caleb Douglas is sidelined here.
90:38Didn't want to give some credit to the Dolphins.
90:40Like they're not a good football team. They don't have enough good players.
90:44They did compete in this one. The first drive of the game was a 17 play, 91 yard touchdown drive.
90:50The chief's offense was, was pretty dialed in here, but this was not like a complete blowout win here by the chiefs by any means.
90:58And some, some like kind of ancillary players like Chris bell.
91:01He had a dig route for a first down early.
91:04He nearly had a touchdown on a slot fade.
91:07His big explosive was another dig route yards after the catch.
91:10You can see that he has all the explosiveness.
91:13He's still a little bit tight coming off of that injury, but his like straight line explosiveness is pretty evident.
91:19And then he also had a man coverage win against Mansoor Delaney on a third and six, more of a slant route for him there.
91:26So I think it was like a pretty encouraging game for someone like Chris bell, but it's going to be like a lot of Malik Washington.
91:34He had a yard after catch touchdown called back on an illegal shift.
91:38So, you know, I don't trust the running back rotation because like, we don't know what this is going to look like
91:45when Jalen Wright comes back, which I'm assuming is going to be this next week.
91:49Can I just say though, like it's a pointless offense.
91:52Like I understand they're going to pop up for some yards here or there, but you know, they have 13, 13 and
91:5910 points for the first three weeks. And then they face the Vikings and the Bengals over the next two.
92:05Like I understand someone has to get target share and market share of carries and all that type of stuff, but we're
92:11kind of at a point for like drawing a line through the Miami Dolphins as being a fantasy role of an offense, right?
92:18Yeah. I mean, Devon HM was going to be so important, obviously to that team.
92:23And yeah, it's, I don't know how they're going to get real explosives here.
92:27Malik Willis is like taking some shots down the field, like to, you know, certain degree of success there.
92:33Um, I just think that like Malik Washington has 10 targets in this one, five to 56.
92:38Like I think that he is going to have like a PPR scam.
92:42Like, could he do like a Wandale Robinson type of thing this year?
92:46Like I would not be that surprised, uh, for, for Malik Washington, just hearing the coaching staff talk about him.
92:52Like he's, he's suddenly very important at work, which obviously if that's your offense, uh, like things aren't working well.
92:58Uh, so, uh, good fight for Miami, but they're closer to like the ACC than, you know, like the NFL.
93:04Well, let me ask you about the Kansas city chiefs, because I'm looking at the box score and the, the part of
93:10the game that I did see, Rasheed rice had, I guess he slipped and then slapped the ball up in the air that led to an interception.
93:18But then I'm, I'm looking at his stat line and this looks more reminiscent of what the Kansas city chiefs offense was last year.
93:26A lot of Rasheed rice and nobody else, nine targets seven for 88.
93:30I know Kelsey got in the end zone and he had that big long run, catch and run in the game.
93:36But how, how did, how did Rasheed look in this one?
93:39Maybe a couple more shots down the football field, like nothing like too deep, but it wasn't like super, super manufactured.
93:46Um, he, he still is like blocking for Xavier where there was a holding call on him there.
93:51Like the, the interception and maybe the ball, like on a different angle may was a little bit behind him, but ball
93:58bounced off his chest for an interception. They're really fluky play, but like good to see where she rice, like in a
94:04game where they have no secondary Miami's like their secondary is the worst in the NFL right now.
94:10Uh, he has to get home and he does with seven for 88, a 35% target share.
94:15And this one, Kenneth Walker, not nearly as dialed in, uh, as a receiver.
94:19Now that said, uh, a little play action underhand, uh, receiving touchdown at the goal line for Kenneth Walker, but a lot
94:25fewer, uh, you know, check downs, a lot fewer like swing routes, a lot fewer screens to Kenneth Walker.
94:31I think that really is like the Rasheed rice stuff.
94:34Like if that consistently goes to Kenneth Walker, like it did in the first couple of weeks, he's got no chance.
94:41If this is what it looks like, I think Rashi rice could be a fantasy wide receiver to three.
94:46I don't think that we're going to get like Rashi rice as the top five, top 10 overall wide receiver, but I
94:53think that he's going to, uh, hold the line.
94:56Yeah. I mean, I did want to ask you about rice because Hayden, in the first two weeks of the season, it
95:02was two catches, 19 yards and two catches, 83.
95:05So while there was a bunch of negativity for Rashi rice earlier this season, we do have back to back 80 yard
95:11performances with, you know, four and seven receptions. I'm not, I'm not saying that this is the wide receiver one ish numbers
95:18that we were getting early on, but in the grand scheme of wide receiver two, three stuff, this is not like a
95:25totally bottomed out fantasy pick as maybe it was made out to be after week one.
95:29And week two's 80 yards was very, you know, fluky.
95:32Like they had like 30 or 40 yards. Like at the end of the game, this was way more real Rashi rice
95:39stuff, like enough where he's certainly going to be a top 20 wide receiver in my rankings next week.
95:45I feel like the big picture thing, zooming back out is just, I mean, Patrick Mahomes did nothing wrong in this one.
95:5190th percentile completion percentage over expected 95th, percentile EPA per play.
95:55That includes the interception that I did not think was his fault on play action.
95:5911 for 11, seven of those were under center play action, not like the little RPO play action, like real play action
96:06stuff for 189 yards in this one. Travis Kelsey with a very interesting game, wide open chunk plan.
96:11The first play of the game, it was the exact same play that tells her that George Kittle had against the dolphins
96:18last week where he starts off going, right? Comes back left wide open, like literally the same exact play.
96:24Does nothing for the entire rest of the game until the last play of the game for them scores a touchdown on
96:30a third and six, which he was the first read target.
96:33So first play, last play, nothing in between. That's where Rashi rice was, was kind of more important.
96:39And then Kenneth Walker, like starts the game, 10 yard touchdown up the middle.
96:43Uh, I mentioned the, the, uh, receiving touchdown out the goal line there.
96:47Like he, even in a game where the chiefs had 49 plays, Kenneth Walker finishes with 20 opportunities, scores, two touchdowns.
96:53Uh, pretty good. Like, yeah, this is, this is going to be nobody other than B.
96:58John and Gibbs. I said it week one. Like those are, those are the only two running backs.
97:04I'll take over Walker. And then, Hey, I'm gonna put you on the spot because people watching the show.
97:09Thank you for watching. All right. We, we know you are there.
97:13They're feeling it right now. Okay. Devon H and down breeze hall down Travis, H and down.
97:18We lost both H and boys. If you had to pick one of Ollie Gordon, Braylon Allen or Alvin Camara, cause managers are pat.
97:25Listen, we're at that point now. They are like, I'm hurting.
97:28It's Braylon. It's Braylon Allen. Okay. There you go.
97:31Cause they're going to spend. People are going to, people are going to blow the budget.
97:36To get one of these running backs. I think that Braylon Allen is a pretty solid pickup.
97:41Like if I was given device on the waiver wire show, like I, I'm at you can do it instead of me tomorrow night.
97:48If you want to, I I'm doing plenty. I got plenty of shows to record myself here.
97:53That's all you guys, but Braylon Allen, like he's going to get all the goal line stuff.
97:59Cause Isaiah, Isaiah Davis isn't going to get any, any of that.
98:02And like the jets offense has been confident for the three games there.
98:06And I think that Braylon Allen, like, you know, among backup running backs is the best.
98:11No, Oh, is he the worst? No, I think like we know what we're signing up with, with, with all the Gordon
98:17stuff, like good game from him, like because he was able to absorb everything.
98:22I just don't know if that's going to carry over when Jalen Wright is actually active for the game.
98:27And like, that is just like a huge wrinkle that we just cannot account for, uh, with the new coaching staff, four
98:34more points in the dolphins, like that's all things by like, yeah, like double or triple it.
98:39Yeah. Yes. Um, just to quickly on this, since Emmitt Johnson was such a, um, active waiver wire pickup, he had six
98:46touches compared to the 20 for Ken Walker. So again, this, this is the gap is closing a little bit, but not really closing overall.
98:53It doesn't matter. Emmitt Johnson is a handcuff, uh, a running back insurance play at best.
98:58Okay. Unfortunately, since Matt Harmon is not here, we didn't get eyeballs on four other games.
99:03So I'll just call attention to some stuff in the box score and see if any of us got any eyeballs on it.
99:10The first one is there's in the Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona nearly comes up with this one, uh, only lose by six.
99:17I'll beat. It felt like that. The 49ers had nice command for most of the game.
99:22Brock Purdy unreal on just 15 completions throws for nearly 300 yards.
99:26And four touchdowns. Two of those to George Kittle.
99:28One, I guess it's the Debo Samuel on a hook and lateral to Mike Evans, who then pitches that and he runs at 80 yards.
99:36Uh, I'm going to assume that Debo Samuel Hayden set the NFL record for most receiving yards, actually having an actual reception with 80 in this game.
99:44I did see a tweet. I think it was like, since like 1960 something when they started tracking that that's exactly what happened.
99:51I will say this on Debo. That was probably the fastest he's ran.
99:55And quite a while. He, he, he, he hit the key at the corner.
99:59They're pretty decent. That I I'm assuming it was a safety coming around and he just outran them there.
100:05So I think that was really encouraging. Josh, I did watch a lot of this game.
100:10Brock Purdy is the MVP through three weeks, like paying the banner, you know, through three weeks, but Brock pretty, pretty much has not missed.
100:17And I think that the big thing that's standing out with him is the injuries around him.
100:22And we lost so many multiple soldiers here. Mike Evans leaves with a rib injury.
100:27Apparently it's like a oblique. Yeah. It's like oblique rib cartilage.
100:30Like that might be like a, you know, not something that you should like get an injection in play through.
100:36Like that could be something that lingers. Trent Williams had a stinger in this one.
100:40He did not play for a lot of the second half in this game.
100:45So like they were running out of guys to throw the ball to.
100:49And that's where George Kittle gets left open a couple of times in the end zone.
100:53Brock Purdy, it was also like running around like a madman.
100:57We didn't see, I think one of them got called back here, but you add another 34 yards.
101:02Like he is dialed in right now. So really impressive performance by Brock Purdy because this defense is so injured that, you
101:09know, a Cardinals team can put up 30 points.
101:11Yeah. Yeah. I was watching some of this too.
101:14Yeah. I was watching some of this one too.
101:17And just the play designs from, from Kyle Shanahan and just the efficiency is there.
101:21It does look like George Kittle's back. And there was a 50 yarder from Brock Purdy called back by an awful, awful
101:28holding call on George Kittle at the three yard line.
101:31They threw that flag. Absolutely ridiculous. So Purdy should add another rushing touchdown in this one.
101:36I'll just say this, the 49ers lost Nick Bosa and I believe two additional defensive tackles.
101:41I think it was prior to this game. And my, one of my bold calls was Jeremiah love is just going to get fed.
101:48Like he's going to have a good game. 21 for 90.
101:51Isn't, you know, it's, it's not world beating. It's not Gibbs.
101:54It's not Bijon, but I thought love ran well.
101:57Uh, the Niners kind of sold out to stop him, but I thought he looked really good.
102:02And we laughed about it last week. Get Tyler Algier off the field because he looked so slow.
102:08Only two carries for Tyler Algier in this one.
102:10Speak on it, Hayden. Yeah. And Algier, it wasn't an injury.
102:14He just got benched, you know, it's just as simple as that.
102:17And it was the right time, Josh, you nailed it with like the breeze hall stuff.
102:22Like the first two games with the floor, with breeze hall kind of gets eased in.
102:27And then at that point, just like it's complete go time as it should with Jeremiah.
102:32There was a couple of like spin moves from him.
102:35I still think that he looks awesome, but he's going to catch passes.
102:39He had five targets for five receptions in like cleanup mode here, and he's not going to come off the football field at all.
102:46Rightfully so. I think that if we were redrafting today, uh, I think there's a good argument that he would be a
102:52second round pick, especially like all the running backs that we just mentioned that got hurt this week.
102:58Like he's, he would be screaming up draft boards, like maybe even like being passed, uh, passing up like someone like chase Brown to, uh, Ashton Gentry.
103:06Like, would you rather have love or Ashton Gentry?
103:09Like, I think I would rather have Jeremiah love love at this point.
103:13Yeah. The Cardinals are, it's like, they're a functionally bad team.
103:16Like there's some competency here with Jacoby Brissette, um, in, in catch up mode.
103:20And, um, I'm here for the fancy points. Yeah.
103:23Their next two games, I think are actually kind of winnable.
103:26It's the giants and the lions. So, uh, maybe we'll get some frisky, this year from the Arizona Cardinals.
103:32Um, they're past catchers in this game. Michael Wilson, 17 targets, 11 receptions, 89 yards.
103:36So one guy and Michael Wilson gets 17 targets and one guy and Marvin Harrison Jr.
103:41gets five targets. So if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about the totem pole here with, uh, Trey
103:48McBride sandwiched in between for, for nine, for 75.
103:50I, I'm wondering what the 49ers even do at wide receiver, like with every single name that they have missed to Marcus Robinson added on to that.
103:58It was like Jane Watkins popping up with two catches for 60.
104:02Is there anyone in the Rolodex that is like, are they even called Dante Pettis?
104:07Like, what are we doing here? You know, I mean, trade for that BTJ, Jerry Judy.
104:11I'm just saying they've had so many, you know, receivers cycled through there over the years that, uh, are we going to get like an AJ Jenkins call?
104:20Ray, that's a deep cut for you. AJ Jenkins.
104:23That is a deep cut. First round pick. First round pick.
104:26All right. In real life. Let's talk about, man, all these games I wish we got eyeballs on, but that's just going
104:32to make stats versus film even better this week.
104:35The Pittsburgh Steelers, 30 Cincinnati Bengals, 27. So I'm looking at it.
104:39Joe Burrow, three touchdowns, 282, zero interceptions, only one sack taken.
104:42That means your Marchase 98 and one T Higgins, 90 and one Mike Kosicki, 37 and one, but really nothing in the, the Russian department.
104:50And I think this comes down to like the fumble at the end of the game kind of seals it for a
104:56Pittsburgh Steelers offense that might not have been pretty for the entire time.
105:00Aaron Rogers yelling at his own teammates after they dropped some passes, but Jalen Warren pops up for seven and a half
105:07yards per pop at 17 carries, 127 yards. And then they spread it around almost evenly with yes, the big right tackle
105:13Darnell Washington, three receptions, 67 yards being this team's leading rusher.
105:17Who has a thought? Who has a question? Can I say Aaron Rogers was dialed in at the start of this game?
105:23I mean, okay. He looked to at the start of the game, right?
105:27I know the final stat line was good, but I mean, the, the, there was a Ben Skoranek.
105:33It looked like they were going to insert him to block.
105:36They bring him in motion. And then he seeps free for, for a touchdown.
105:40Roman Wilson looked like trusted by Aaron Rogers early in this game.
105:44I know DK Metcalf scored, but I, I, this was a shocker for me.
105:48I mean, Aaron Rogers looked good in this game, all things considered, and maybe just kind of leaning on Jalen Warren to,
105:54to run the ball and, and open things up.
105:57I, I don't know how confident I am in them week to week, but I'm, I'll just say I'm intrigued by Roman Wilson.
106:04I would like to look at his deployment and, and how they use them a little bit, because he's one of the few guys on that field.
106:12That's got some short area quickness and some juice.
106:15I think my takeaway from this one is, you know, the Bengals defense looked awesome against the Texans.
106:20I think that's going to happen for every team facing the Texans.
106:24And like, I think that the Dexter Lawrence stuff, like it's going to make an impact, but like, I mean, this, this
106:31defense is not going to be that good. Like they're just still figuring things out at too many positions in general.
106:37Like they don't like still look like consistently rush the passer in this one.
106:41Yeah. I want to go back and watch this one.
106:44The one play that I saw from this one is Jalen Warren had nobody in front of him for a touchdown.
106:50Jalen Warren had an awesome game and then just got completely sniped and like just her monster.
106:55He doesn't finish with a touchdown. Otherwise goes absolutely crazy.
106:58And this one, he does not come off the field pretty much.
107:02And this was like a 92% snap rate for Jalen Warren, Rico Dowd, it's a toe injury.
107:07So like, I think the Steelers offense showed enough here where Jalen Warren, like was ranked as a top 15 fancy running
107:14back and like absolutely should have been. Every run to the left.
107:17Look at that. Run, run, run, left, left, left.
107:20Yeah. The Bengals are kind of one play away from being three and oh, and instead they're two and one, they have the ball 53 seconds left.
107:28First and 10 at the plus 38. So in the Pittsburgh Steelers 38 yard line at worst, that should be a, send it into overtime.
107:36And unfortunately your boy, Derek Harmon sacks Joe Burrow and the game ends on a fumble.
107:41So, uh, that must feel wicked for the Bengals fans on top of it.
107:45Okay. Another game that there is no chance I would have predicted this game being close and especially a Washington commanders win
107:51at home 33 points compared to the Seattle Seahawks.
107:5431 points. Hey, Marcus Mariota three touchdown passes, 183 yards.
107:57I mean, I'm kind of looking at the stat sheet and I don't know how the commanders got 33 points and I
108:04don't know how they won this game with 183 yards passing and then 82 yards rushing on 32 carries.
108:09And yet here we see the end result being the defending Super Bowl champions.
108:14Well, Janarian price fumbling. Uh, that's one way to get good field position.
108:17That was, that was a bummer right away in this one, but quickly on the Marcus Mariota side of this, uh, I
108:24had a tweet December 2nd of last year and it said since 2024, Marcus Mariota is first in completion percent over expected
108:31seventh and success rate and 11th and EPA per drop back.
108:34And I'm gonna have to update those. Cause this is like another excellent game against the Seahawks without Sam Cosme, probably their best offensive, uh, lineman.
108:42That's still healthy. There's like a really impressive game from them.
108:45I'm gonna have to go back and watch this one.
108:48Like the fact that Terry McLaurin, uh, got home despite facing Devin Witherspoon and Josh Jobe with that state of the offensive lines, like super impressive stuff.
108:56And I, I think without question, Marcus Marriott is the best backup in the NFL and his passing numbers are almost identical
109:03on a per game basis to Jaden Daniels. Obviously Jaden Daniels is five times more explosive than Marcus Mariota, but purely just
109:09dropping back over like the last, uh, year or so.
109:12Marcus Mariota has like been holding the line. So really awesome performance for him.
109:17Uh, Ray, I brought this up after week one, um, for the rushing attacks against Durante Jones's defense, who is a disciple of Brian Flores.
109:24We know those Flores defenses are tough to run on.
109:27Seattle has ran it on a bunch of people and they only managed 44 rushing yards on 18 carries.
109:33Jaren Price five for 15. Emmanuel Wilson was even worse at nine carries for 14 yards.
109:38So maybe this is something we need to keep in mind with this commander's defense.
109:42I'll be at not as good as the Vikings, but they do so many similar things that maybe they are just as
109:49difficult or not just as, but fringing on close to being difficult to run on.
109:53What's so frustrating about this is Seattle is giving Jadarian Price every opportunity to be the guy, every opportunity.
109:59And that once he got fumbled, they said there was a tweet out there that he's just in a raincoat on the
110:06sideline for, for the rest of the, for, for them and the rest of the game until they got down late in the third quarter.
110:13Um, Sonny styles was awesome in this game. The rookie linebacker for the commanders running stride for stride.
110:19Jadarian Price down the field defended him. It would have been a long touchdown catch for price.
110:24Yet this rookie linebacker is just, I mean, he's running stride for stride with price, but five carries, 15 yards.
110:30And we talked about it last week and I was like, Hey, he got hurt in the game.
110:35Josh, I know you went back, you watched it and said, Hey, I think that those 14 carries would have gone to price.
110:42Had he not been injured in the third quarter, but if he can't be trusted to, to take care of the football, they can't run it.
110:50Like it's not George Helani. It's not Emmanuel Wilson.
110:53They want it to be price. He has got to step up in a major way.
110:57One of the interceptions from Sam Darnold, I mean, it was tipped up in the middle of the defensive, the defense alignment just got their hands on it.
111:06It popped up. Jackson Smith and Jake, but tied for the league lead with six touchdowns through three weeks.
111:11Just unreal. Not nothing that we really need to dive into, but just unreal player.
111:16Jackson Smith and Jake. We'll go through that one much more in stats versus film.
111:20And we'll close out here with the New York jets.
111:23They're actually two and one as they beat the Tennessee Titans, 12 to seven in weather.
111:28I mean, there's really no one to point to here.
111:31That's fantasy relevant. The giants did not have an offensive touchdown in this game.
111:36Cam Skadaboo was the leading receiver, three catches for 40 yards and the leading rusher with 20 carries for 60 yards.
111:42Malik neighbors, only five for 26. Maybe that goes to show you where they're at with James Winston at this point, along
111:48with us being on quarterback trade watch as all the national insiders have been talking about that all day on Sunday.
111:55Von the Titans in like Hayden, Brian Burns plays in this game, but he exits in a lot of pain.
112:01It kind of sounded like some of their big time defensive players didn't make that big of an impact.
112:06And yet here we are with Cam Ward on 36 attempts, just getting 181 yards.
112:11And with a couple minutes to go has a chance of outright winning this game and throws a lackadaisical interception on first
112:18down in the red zone, despite having multiple timeouts and the game is over.
112:22And that's it. It's almost time, man. Like it's, it's almost time to do a Bryce young and sitting down for, for a little bit.
112:29And it's almost time beyond that for the Tennessee Titans to like really start looking at this incoming quarterback class.
112:35Like it just too many, too many of those same mistakes.
112:39They couldn't run the ball. Obviously they've never been able to run the ball, but beyond that, like just the cam ward, like he's so lackadaisical back there.
112:47Like, and he's not accurate enough. He's still throwing the ball right at defenders.
112:51Uh, he went to the podium after that game on that brutal interception.
112:55And he said like, he wasn't fooled. Like he just like did not throw it with enough height.
113:01And I'm like, he said it was a good throw.
113:04You just needed to get it up a little bit.
113:07Okay. I mean, yeah, it does need to get it up a little bit.
113:11Your numbers got to get up a little bit, or you're going to go to the bench.
113:16And here's the problem with the Tennessee Titans right now is the next two games.
113:20They're in Baltimore against the Ravens with Jesse mentor, who throw a bunch of curve balls at you defensively with aliens back there in the secondary.
113:28And then you get the Houston Texans and those tackles are not going to be able to survive.
113:34It's like, it's only going to get worse for cam war these next two weeks, most likely.
113:39And we're getting very close to the point where like, should they bench him now to avoid those games or should they
113:45get through those next couple of games? And then Titans fans and the Titans organization are like ready to turn the page completely on cam war.
113:53There's just like not been nearly enough good to overcome.
113:56Like, which is like every single week, way, way, way too much bad.
114:00I, I've been talked about on X as being this big time cam ward hater, but I'll just say this.
114:06There was some really concerning stuff that I heard from him coming into the season.
114:11I'm watching that show quarterback. And he talked about midway through the year, last year, he had to go back to his,
114:17you know, quarterback training coach because he knew his mechanics were off and he was lazy in the pocket.
114:23And then he also talked about never having to study film until he got to the university of Miami.
114:29He said, he didn't do it at incarnate word.
114:31He didn't do it at Washington state. He just, the first time that he watched quarterback film was in his final season
114:38at college at the university of Miami. And I'm watching that play and people are like, Oh, look at his aura in
114:45the pocket where he just kind of stopped moving and stood there and through the ball.
114:49It was everything about how he's playing right now.
114:52Just does not scream long-term NFL starter. It does not give you confidence in them or that team.
114:57You look at the stat line. Tate was fine.
115:00I guess Wanda Robinson scored what I heard and read a lot.
115:04Josh and Hayden was Najee Harris. Didn't look bad running the ball in this one.
115:08What you do with that information. I do not know.
115:11But Jameis Winston released a commercial yesterday with him grabbing crab legs.
115:15And I'm thinking to myself, I know it was filmed before yesterday, but I didn't feel good about Jameis Winston before the game.
115:22I don't feel good about Jameis Winston in the offense after the game.
115:26I don't want any part of Malik neighbors. I don't want any part of Isaiah likely they need to find somebody else pronto.
115:33Or maybe it's just like, how can you feel good about anything in New York?
115:37Malik neighbors included. Yeah. I mean, the Isaiah likely week one stuff is like way behind us.
115:42At this point, I feel like there's a lot of those week one performances that look a bit different after, after week three.
115:49They do have the Cardinals next week. Again, this is this.
115:52Stanza of the season for the Giants, where they should win games, Cardinals commanders over the next two weeks.
115:58But how do you win those games? Is it going to be yards?
116:02Is it going to be points? Or is it again, going to be ball control and we win defensively and we win the margins?
116:09Kind of like this one. I can't remember who said it.
116:13Either Cam Scadaboo or Javon Holland. Someone said, Hey, if this was us last year, we would have lost this game, but we won it.
116:20And I think that was a direct shot at the offensive coordinator, the opposite sideline and Brian Dayball.
116:25There's a lot of overlap in this game. I will say this.
116:29Devin Singletary was a healthy scratch in this one.
116:32And that is pretty helpful for Cam Scadaboo. Like the fact that he was like the leading receiver in this one is
116:38like, that's, that's pretty promising because after week one, he wasn't pretty much involved in that capacity at all.
116:44And that's his back-to-back games where he's at least catching three plus passes.
116:48So maybe we'll go back and watch this game.
116:51And it was like, just like too much of a rainstorm or whatever.
116:55I know there's just some rain in the forecast, but to your point, Ray, uh, the cam ward and Jameis Winston, like
117:01there's a little bit too like unseriousness for like what we're expecting out of starting quarterbacks at this point.
117:07And I think the results are speaking for themselves.
117:10All right. That's going to do it again. The games we didn't really dive into circle back here during stats versus film on Tuesday.
117:17We'll have watched all of those. That's for sure.
117:20Along with Matt Harmon joining us on that episode.
117:22And again, keep in mind Monday night, football. As soon as it hits triple zeros, we'll have the week four waiver wire
117:29on the channel for all of you. Uh, lots that I've been to because of all these injuries and we're going to
117:35spend all day tomorrow looking into it and recording.
117:38So we get it right for all of you, Ray.
117:41Thanks so much. Hayden, you as well. Production behind the scenes.
117:44Shout out to all of you for watching. We'll see you next time.
117:48See you.
