A.J. Brown

NegativeInjury62:22

A.J. Brown is dealing with a hurt ankle. Matt Harmon humorously notes that even Brown "with his hurt ankle is looking at this thinking, yeah, I don't miss that one bit," referring to the Eagles' offensive struggles and poor design through three weeks.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveProjection26:48

Amon-Ra St. Brown is mentioned as one of the few receivers Harmon would rank ahead of Zay Flowers for rest-of-season performance, placing him in the elite tier of receivers.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury30:01

Matt Harmon notes that Breece Hall is going to miss time, which reduces offensive touches and creates more opportunity for pass catchers like Garrett Wilson and Kenyon Sadiq in the Jets offense.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection40:53

Purdy is a locked-in QB1 to start every week without hesitation; despite upcoming tough matchups against Denver and Seattle in weeks 4-5, he has gettable spots before the bye (Commanders, Falcons, Raiders, Cowboys) and benefits from Kyle Shanahan's elite play-calling and his own rushing ability, which has been exceptional this season.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

NegativeInjury67:16

Caleb Douglas is currently nursing an injury and serving as the vertical X in the Dolphins' receiver room. His absence opens opportunities for Malik Washington and Chris Bell to see increased usage on downfield routes.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveUsage22:22

CeeDee Lamb ties with Zay Flowers in Trinity score usage, indicating elite offensive utilization.

Insight page
PositiveProjection28:51

Matt Harmon lists CeeDee Lamb as one of the receivers he'd take over Zay Flowers in rest-of-season rankings.

Insight page

Chris Bell

PositiveSleeper67:16

Chris Bell is being deployed as a movement guy in the Dolphins' receiver room and could provide cheap fantasy production alongside Malik Washington out of pure necessity, given Miami's historically poor pass defense (32nd in EPA allowed, potentially worst ever). Bell is a speculative pickup for weeks against softer defenses like the Bengals (week 5) and Jets (week 7 post-bye), not the Vikings (week 4).

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveUsage22:22

Chris Olave ranks third in Trinity score usage amongst NFL wide receivers, indicating elite offensive utilization.

Insight page
NegativeProjection26:48

Chris Olave is mentioned as a receiver in the conversation about rest-of-season rankings relative to Zay Flowers. Harmon notes Olave was a Pro Bowl receiver last year but hasn't hit the way it needed to, suggesting some underperformance relative to expectations. Harmon indicates he would rank only about six to seven receivers ahead of Flowers, with Olave being in the conversation but not definitively above Flowers.

Insight page
NegativeProjection28:47

Matt Harmon references Chris Olave as one of the receivers he'd potentially take over Zay Flowers (maybe), and also as one of the first receivers he tracked when developing usage metrics alongside Garrett Wilson and Nico Collins, noting they had elite isolated metrics and usage patterns.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveProjection6:30

Christian Watson has been great from the round four to five wide receiver range, outperforming expectations from that draft tier and representing one of the better hits from that range so far this season.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeProjection5:00

Colston Loveland was averaging only 11 yards per game through the first two weeks of the season, a stark contrast to Kalief Raymond's 71 yards per game. Matt Harmon used this comparison to illustrate the variance in fantasy football and the possibility that early-season production trends may or may not be sticky through the rest of the season.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

NegativeInjury67:40

Dallas Goedert is not available, contributing to the Eagles' reduced use of heavy personnel this year. His absence has forced the team to sign replacement tight ends off the waiver wire and impacts the Eagles' offensive structure.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveRole61:21

DeVonta Smith has proven effective against man coverage despite his smaller frame (170 pounds). Matt Harmon defends Smith's ability, noting "I remember when people thought this guy couldn't win as an outside receiver against man coverage because he was too small. Well, it turns out he was, he's been great against it ever since he's hit the NFL field." However, Smith's effectiveness is limited by the Eagles' poor offensive design and lack of screen game utilization due to his size disadvantage in blocking situations.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection20:00

Drake London ranks second in the NFL in yards per route run among wide receivers with 50+ routes on the season at 3.86 yards per route run, and this efficiency came after just one game with Michael Penix at quarterback. His production spike suggests the quarterback change may be unlocking his potential.

Insight page
NegativeUsage20:54

Drake London ranks third in yards per route run (3.86) among wide receivers with 20+ routes.

Insight page
PositiveRole27:48

Matt Harmon identifies Drake London as an interesting conversation now that Michael Penix is the Falcons quarterback, suggesting the quarterback change could unlock opportunity for London. Harmon notes Penix has only been seen against Green Bay so far, but sees potential for London to benefit from the new quarterback situation.

Insight page

Eli Heidenreich

NegativeRole62:27

Eli Heidenreich, a seventh-round Navy rookie converted receiver-running back hybrid, saw limited involvement in Week 3 against the Bengals. Matt Harmon expresses skepticism about his role expansion on passing downs, stating: 'I will believe that Aaron Rodgers is going to allow a converted receiver running back hybrid at a Navy rookie, like seventh round pick Eli Heidenreich on the field for passing downs. I will believe that when I see it.' Harmon's overall assessment is that Jalen Warren will dominate the backfield touches going forward, with Heidenreich unlikely to carve out significant passing-down work.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveBreakout7:00

Garrett Wilson is highlighted as a potential breakout candidate with the question 'is it finally happening?' Matt Harmon noted that Wilson, despite being drafted from a range where 'nobody wanted to draft from that range because it's a jet,' has actually been really good so far this season and is one of the guys going later that has really boosted expectations.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout28:30

Matt Harmon highlights Garrett Wilson as potentially finally breaking through after five seasons in the league without a 15+ fantasy points per game season. Wilson is now averaging 19 points per game with Geno Smith at quarterback, who is playing at an elite level (75.5% completion percentage, no interceptions). Last week Wilson had 13 targets (36% target share) and combined with Kenyon Sadiq accounted for almost 60% of targets and 66% of Geno Smith's passing yards and two of three touchdowns. Harmon notes the Jets offense has lost Adnan Mitchell (hand injury), Breece Hall (out), and Mason Taylor (out), creating more opportunity. Harmon emphasizes the fantasy community hasn't caught up to how good the Jets passing attack looks for Wilson and suggests this could finally be the elite Garrett Wilson season fantasy players have wanted for years.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout30:24

Matt Harmon believes this is finally the Garrett Wilson season unfolding, stating "I know I could get hurt again with Garrett Wilson, but I think I'm ready to get hurt again this year" and "I don't think I'm going to get hurt again this year." Wilson is balling with strong target opportunity; the route chart shows a good mix of layups under 10 yards and deep out cuts over the middle. Geno Smith is getting those out on time. Wilson has the seventh highest overall usage for a wide receiver in the NFL right now, and they are using him like an elite receiver. With Adnan Mitchell out, the ball is very concentrated to a couple of people, and Geno is pushing the ball downfield. Harmon projects Wilson will finally clear 15 fantasy points per game this season.

Insight page

Geno Smith

PositiveProjection28:30

Matt Harmon praises Geno Smith's play as 'quietly really, really good football,' leading the NFL with 75.5% completion percentage and zero interceptions on the season. Harmon credits Smith's elite play as the driver behind Garrett Wilson's breakout and the Jets' improved passing attack efficiency.

Insight page
PositiveProjection30:24

Geno Smith is playing at an elite level with no interceptions on the season and a 75.5% completion percentage. Matt Harmon notes that Geno Smith has played incredible football and the schedule is not too bad going forward, with games against the Bears this weekend that could be another high-flying affair. Geno is pushing the ball downfield and feeding Garrett Wilson effectively. While he doesn't have to be Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, he understands the assignment and is a lot better than what the Jets had under center last year with Aaron Rodgers injured.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection26:48

Jamar Chase is mentioned as one of the few receivers Harmon would rank ahead of Zay Flowers for rest-of-season performance. Chase is explicitly listed among the top-tier receivers that would be preferred over Flowers, indicating elite-tier status in Harmon's rankings.

Insight page
PositiveProjection28:40

Matt Harmon lists Jamar Chase as one of the receivers he'd take over Zay Flowers in rest-of-season rankings.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeDepth Chart67:40

Jalen Hurts was signed off the waiver wire by the Eagles, indicating roster depth issues at tight end due to injuries to Dallas Goedert and other pass-catchers. This context affects the Eagles' offensive structure and passing game design.

Insight page
NegativeRole67:48

Jalen Hurts is operating in an Eagles passing game that has remained structurally unchanged despite offseason talk of change. The team ranks dead last in play action rate (down from 24.3% to 9.3%), is 26th in under center rate, and 30th in motion rate through three weeks. This static offensive design limits quarterback upside and receiver opportunities.

Insight page
NegativeRole71:48

Hurts' passing distribution shows minimal middle-field attack: 41% short right, 25% short left, only 14% short middle, and just 2% deep middle. The Eagles offense is heavily reliant on out routes and flat routes to the sideline rather than attacking the middle of the field as promised in the offseason. Matt Harmon notes the offense looks "Russell Wilson coded," with structural issues including 26th-ranked under center rate, 30th in motion rate (same as last year), and 32nd in static score offensive design—dead last in the league.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeProjection6:30

Jalen Waddle has had inconsistent production through the first three weeks, with one really good week and two less productive weeks. This variance is typical for the wide receiver position but represents a mixed start for a player drafted in the round four to five range.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveUsage61:00

Jalen Warren was a workhorse in week 3 with 90.9% of backfield touches, joining an elite group of only seven games this season where a running back exceeded 90% touches (James Cook 100%, Jonathan Taylor 96%, Devon Henry 94%, Jameer Gibbs 92%, etc.), indicating elite volume and first-round caliber usage.

Insight page
PositiveUsage61:02

Jalen Warren was a workhorse in Week 3 with 90.9% of backfield touches against the Bengals, placing him among only seven running backs this season to exceed 90% touch share. This usage tier (alongside James Cook, Jonathan Taylor, Jameer Gibbs, and Devon Henry) averaged 21.5 PPR points across those seven games. Warren also added 3 catches for 49 yards through the air. Matt Harmon states: 'If Rico Dowdle is out, Jalen Warren is in your fantasy lineup, and you don't ask any questions about it' and 'I'm firing up Jalen Warren across all formats and all leagues if I have him.' Harmon projects strong upcoming matchups against the Browns in Week 4 and Colts in Week 5.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

PositiveBust64:04

Matt Harmon expresses skepticism about Jalen Wright's fantasy viability in Miami's backfield, stating he doesn't expect Wright or Ali Gordon to produce meaningfully going forward. Harmon is willing to be proven wrong but doubts the backup running backs will succeed in Miami's offense, preferring Malik Washington as the waiver target instead.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveRole58:00

Juwan Johnson runs 35 routes per game (second among tight ends behind Trey McBride's 36) in an offense that runs 45.7 routes per game league-high; Tyler Shuck averages 44 pass attempts per game (league-high) and 917 passing yards (second in NFL), creating an extremely fruitful environment for Johnson's volume.

Insight page
PositiveProjection58:00

Juwan Johnson is playing like one of the best tight ends in the NFL and is a locked-in starting tight end week-to-week; he is third in overall PPR points, has 19 targets and 173 yards (both top-6 among tight ends), and has received 5 of the Saints' 11 red-zone targets inside the 10-yard line, giving him premium money-down role.

Insight page

Kalif Raymond

PositiveBreakout4:00

Kalief Raymond has emerged as a breakout performer averaging 71 yards per game through week three, far exceeding preseason expectations. Matt Harmon had discussed Raymond in an August episode as a player better in real life than fantasy, but he has now become better in fantasy than anticipated due to the value he brings to the Bears offense. The Bears' offense was working very well with Raymond in the mix against Philadelphia in week three, suggesting his production may be sticky rather than a fluke.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveUsage29:08

Kenyon Sadiq, the rookie tight end, had 8 targets (22% target share) last week with Mason Taylor out. Combined with Garrett Wilson, Sadiq and Wilson accounted for almost 60% of targets and 66% of Geno Smith's passing yards and two of three touchdowns. Matt Harmon expects Sadiq to be everybody's favorite waiver wire target at tight end this week given the opportunity created by Mason Taylor's injury.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

NegativeProjection19:00

Kirk Cousins has played well for the 3-0 Raiders but has also put the ball in harm's way at times. Matt Harmon noted there are still things to improve from an offensive standpoint and suggested the Raiders' success may feel a little fluky. Cousins has pushed the ball downfield in a pretty decent variety, but the Raiders rank 23rd in rush EPA and 27th in explosive play rate despite being 18th in combined offensive efficiency metrics.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveUsage45:00

Kyron Williams is being deployed as a pass-catching weapon with abnormally high downfield usage; he has 4.92 air yards per target (sixth among all routes), double the second-place running back (Devon Achane at 2.4), and is receiving 10 non-checkdown targets at 5.1 air yards per target versus only 2 checkdown targets at 2.5 air yards per target, indicating intentional design rather than dump-offs.

Insight page
PositiveRole45:00

Kyron Williams is the clear pass-catching weapon in the Rams offense with 6-7 targets and 70 receiving yards in week 3 (158 total yards from scrimmage without a TD); he commands goal-line work and is being prioritized over Blake Quorum in the receiving game despite Quorum taking some rushing work; Sean McVay trusts him implicitly and he leads the NFL in rushing success rate (63.2% in 2025).

Insight page
PositiveValue46:40

Kyron Williams is significantly undervalued; he is ranked as the 12th running back heading into week 4 despite elite receiving metrics and Sean McVay's trust, and is preferred over Ashton Gentry and Saquon Barkley based on his pass-catching role and receiving yards per game (35 yards per game, up from 16.5 last season).

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveProjection24:08

Lamar Jackson is playing at an elite level as one of the most efficient quarterbacks in NFL history. The Ravens' offense ranks fifth in combined efficiency metrics and fourth in Harmon's static score, with Jackson executing the scheme effectively through motion, heavy personnel, play action, and under-center looks (all at 10th-highest rates). This elite quarterback play supports the offensive efficiency and the concentration of targets to Zay Flowers.

Insight page

Malik Washington

PositiveRole63:48

Malik Washington has emerged as a target-heavy option for the Miami Dolphins following Devon Henry's placement on injured reserve. In Week 3, Washington accumulated 10 targets and 2 carries for a 27% target share. The speaker notes that Miami will be forced to drop back frequently and will not rely on the running game with Ali Gordon or Jalen Wright, creating opportunity for Washington. The speaker states: 'I liked coming out of college. I do think that in the right offense, he could be PPR scam ish with the right quarterback, but out of necessity here, like is Malik Washington, somebody we should be' considering as a PPR asset given the Dolphins' offensive constraints.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper64:11

Matt Harmon and co-host view Malik Washington as a waiver wire target with upside in Miami's pass-heavy future. Washington was a day-two prospect with a neck issue who has been used primarily as a scammy/designed targets player early in his career but can win on routes; he also has three rush attempts on the season, suggesting expanded role potential. With A-Chain out and Miami's pass defense historically bad (0.46 EPA per drop back allowed, worse than 2024 Cowboys), the Dolphins will likely need to go pass-heavy, creating opportunity for Washington despite Miami's historically slow pace and run-heavy approach.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper67:16

Malik Washington is being used on downfield routes in the Dolphins' receiver room alongside Caleb Douglas (vertical X) and Chris Bell (movement guy). Despite Miami's historically poor pass defense and competitive game against Kansas City, Washington and Bell could provide cheap fantasy production out of pure necessity; however, matchup-dependent—speculative pickup for weeks against Bengals (week 5) and Jets (week 7 post-bye) rather than Vikings (week 4). Matt Harmon explicitly roots for Washington as a potential value play.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeProjection67:16

Malik Willis looked slightly better in the Dolphins' competitive game against Kansas City, though the improvement won't equate to wins. The performance is being evaluated for potential cheap fantasy production from his receivers rather than Willis himself.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeRole25:45

Mark Andrews is third on the Ravens in routes with 13 in Week 3 and is running some of the deepest routes at the tight end position. Harmon describes him as a sacrificial player designed to open things up for the wideouts, which is an unusual role for Andrews. This offensive design prioritizes getting Zay Flowers and other receivers into favorable positions rather than featuring Andrews as a primary target.

Insight page

Mason Taylor

NegativeInjury30:07

Matt Harmon notes Mason Taylor is out, which creates more opportunity for Kenyon Sadiq and other pass catchers in the Jets offense.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveRole9:00

Mike Washington earned increased opportunity after playing well in week three against New Orleans Saints in a shootout; the Raiders coaching staff has already stated he's earned more opportunities in the offense. He showed explosive potential on the field, contrasting sharply with Gentry's inefficiency. Washington is currently 34% rostered and should be rostered much higher given that if Gentry misses time due to his ankle injury, Washington would likely become the lead back. Matt Harmon compared Washington to Kenneth Walker and suggested he could be a change-of-pace back with flex appeal.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveProjection26:48

Nico Collins is mentioned as a receiver Harmon would consider ranking ahead of Zay Flowers if healthy for rest-of-season performance, indicating elite-tier status contingent on health.

Insight page
PositiveProjection29:09

Matt Harmon references Nico Collins as one of the first receivers he tracked when developing usage metrics, noting Collins had elite isolated metrics and usage patterns. Harmon suggests that if Collins ever gets a quality quarterback and maintains his level of usage, he can be a superstar, drawing a parallel to Garrett Wilson's current breakout.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveValue6:30

Parker Washington had a seventh-round ADP on Yahoo for a long time and has been performing well from that late-round range, representing good value from a later draft pick.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeInjury27:38

Matt Harmon excludes Puka Nakua from his list of receivers he'd rank above Zay Flowers, citing current injury status as the reason for the exclusion.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

NegativeRole23:15

Rashad Bateman played only 20-something snaps and routes in Week 3 despite being healthy; Lamar Jackson's offensive scheme does not prioritize the wide receiver two, limiting Bateman's upside even when on the field.

Insight page
NegativeRole25:33

Rashod Bateman is operating as a supporting actor in the Ravens' highly concentrated passing attack. He's on the field for 91% of routes but is playing 26% of his snaps in the slot in Week 3, which is unusual for him (typically sub-10%). Harmon notes Bateman is being used in a secondary role while Zay Flowers receives the primary target volume, with the offense designed to feature Flowers as the focal point.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

NegativeInjury63:03

Rico Dowdle did not participate in practice on Monday heading into Week 5, suggesting he may miss the short-week game against the Colts. Matt Harmon notes: 'If Rico Dowdle misses another game in week five, I would guess he, I would guess Rico misses on the short week. He didn't participate in practice on Monday.' This injury uncertainty elevates Jalen Warren's fantasy value as the primary backup.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeRole67:48

The Eagles' passing game structure has remained largely unchanged through three weeks despite offseason talk of change. The team ranks dead last in play action rate (down from 24.3% to 9.3%), is 26th in under center rate, and 30th in motion rate. This static offensive design limits the upside of Eagles skill players, including running backs who might benefit from play action and motion concepts.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveUsage52:00

Terry McLaurin had 88.6% route participation in week 3 (no one else above 77%) with a 30% target share; he's being moved around more this season with a 21.6% slot rate (highest since 2021) and is running more vertical routes and corner routes from the slot, which should continue to generate opportunities.

Insight page
PositiveProjection52:00

Terry McLaurin bounced back strongly in week 3 with 9 targets, 6 catches, 77 yards, and a TD against Seattle despite a tough matchup; he has a nice week 4 matchup against the Colts, who play a lot of man coverage where McLaurin has historically excelled, and is someone you can confidently start.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveProjection20:00

Zay Flowers ranks first among wide receivers with 20+ routes on the season in yards per route run at 9.36, more than double the second-place JSN (4.35) and Drake London (3.86). He has a first down on 44% of his routes, demonstrating elite efficiency and production despite being drafted later than typical elite receivers.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout20:54

Zay Flowers leads all wide receivers with 20+ routes by a massive margin with 9.36 yards per route run (JSN second at 4.35, Drake London third at 3.86); he's been targeted on 48% of routes and has a first down on 44% of routes, demonstrating elite efficiency despite part-time snaps due to injury.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout22:00

Matt Harmon ranks Zay Flowers as a top 10 receiver rest of season in fantasy if he stays healthy; the Ravens offense features him in diverse route concepts with limited competing receiving threats, and Lamar Jackson hyper-targets him when on the field.

Insight page
PositiveRole22:22

Zay Flowers ranks fourth in Trinity score usage amongst NFL wide receivers, behind only Jackson Smith-Njigba, Chris Olave, and Devontae Adams (tied with CeeDee Lamb); he's lined up all over the formation with many movement routes, positioning him as the clear focal point of the Ravens offense.

Insight page
PositiveProjection23:03

Matt Harmon projects Zay Flowers at 1,245 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 16.1 points per game rest of season (updated before Week 3), though he's currently averaging 21 points per game despite missing time due to injury.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup23:15

Zay Flowers' efficiency is amplified by limited competing receiving threats on the Ravens; Lamar Jackson does not prioritize the wide receiver two in the offense and will hyper-target Flowers when on the field, making him the primary downfield option.

Insight page
PositiveProjection24:08

Matt Harmon ranks Zay Flowers as a top-10 receiver for the rest of season, noting that ranking might be conservative. The Ravens' fifth-best offense by combined efficiency metrics is highly concentrated around Flowers; he's been targeted six times in each of his two games with five catches in each, running 55% snaps in the slot in Week 1 and 82% in Week 3 against Dallas. Harmon emphasizes that everything is designed to get Flowers the ball in favorable situations with yards after catch and deep passes available. Against upcoming Titans and Falcons matchups, Harmon suggests the potential for explosive production.

Insight page
PositiveRole24:44

Zay Flowers has shifted to a slot-based role despite being a Z receiver earlier in his career; he played 55% snaps in the slot in Week 1 and 82% in Week 3 against Dallas. Harmon notes this is unusual for Flowers' career profile but emphasizes the Ravens' offensive design is maximizing his opportunities through motion, heavy personnel, and play action (all at 10th-highest rates). Flowers has caught 5 of 6 targets in each game with one drop against Dallas, and the Ravens' scheme is specifically engineered to get him favorable matchups.

Insight page
NegativeProjection27:13

Matt Harmon ranks Zay Flowers between 5-7 in rest-of-season receiver rankings, noting he's been good but hasn't hit the way needed; Harmon would take six to seven other receivers over a healthy Zay Flowers rest of season, including JSN, Jamar Chase, Amon Ross St. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, and possibly Chris Olave. Harmon suggests Flowers' recent production came against two of the worst defenses in the NFL (Colts and Cowboys), warranting caution on his true level.

0:00Big show for you here today, Ray Garman joins me for the Week 4 data dump and we got a lot to get into here.
0:08Ashton Gentry struggling with rushing efficiency despite the fact he's getting a ton of volume.
0:12We break down what that means, plus Zay Flowers absolutely breaking the efficiency charts.
0:17Garrett Wilson is it finally happening? Tons of storylines to get into.
0:20A lot of rest of season ranking update talk and speaking of updates, yeah, we got an update on the league.
0:27All right, the Yahoo Fantasy League. We'll talk about that at the end of the show.
0:32We'll talk about how somebody's 3-0. No spoilers, though.
0:35All that and more coming up on today's show.
0:37Let's get into it. What's going on, everyone? I'm Matt Harmon.
0:41Welcome to the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast. And it is a hell of a day to talk ball.
0:46And joining me to do just that is Ray Garvin.
0:49Ray, what's going on, man? What's going on, Matt?
0:52Week 4 NFL season. We're here. It has been an interesting one.
0:55And every time we get on this show to talk through things that have happened, players, teams, situations.
1:01I always have a good time, man. So excited to get into it today and talk through some stuff to help the
1:08people out in the YouTube comments and everybody that watches or listens to the show after the fact, man.
1:14It's a great day. It's a great day. Let me get a vibe check from you here.
1:19Three full weeks into the season. We're about to enter week four here.
1:23This is the show where we usually kind of turn the page from previous week to the next week.
1:29And this is right about the time, Ray, when I bring this up all the time.
1:34Adam Harstad from Football Guys, he several years ago, I don't know if he's updated this since, that kind of found that
1:40the first four weeks of the season, season-long ADP is still more predictive than what we are seeing in the current moment.
1:47We looked at some data from J.J. Zacharysson after week one.
1:51I believe that things do eventually start to crystallize really at some of the positions like wide receiver, though.
1:56It's not until midway through the season that there's a strong correlation to the current results of the way it's going to end the season here.
2:04So just, again, vibe check from you so far on how the season has gone, sort of where are we at?
2:11Like, what are some situations just off the cuff here that you're like, I don't know if I'm, like, buying this or
2:18kind of that you're raising an eyebrow at and kind of want to see more from?
2:23Well, I mean, I think one of the low-hanging fruit, easiest answers to this question is the Chicago Bears.
2:28Like, this wide receiver room, the tight end room, everything that we talked about in the offseason, everything we thought we knew about these three wide receivers.
2:37And then yet I saw you talking on the show last night, I believe, the number 14.
2:42It was always Kalief Raymond. We should have known that if anybody was going to be the Aminra St.
2:48Brown, it was going to be Kalief Raymond. And I think overall, man, like your elite superstar players, by and large, are the elite superstar players, right?
2:56Outside of Puka Nakulu who has not played, but Jackson Smith and Jigba Dope.
3:01Bowers, as soon as he got on the field, he was awesome.
3:04McBride's been great. I really think it's those, you know, hell, right when you get around to round two, man, I don't,
3:11I still don't know what to make of this season, by and large.
3:15And I think that's what makes this show so fun.
3:18I think injuries have played a big part in how we feel about roles and situations.
3:23I think there are some spots where we're getting some better performances than we expected.
3:28And then more so, I think there's some spots where we thought we would get some good performances or good team situations that have not come to fruition.
3:36And that's what makes things even more confusing, frustrating, that variance of fantasy football.
3:41And I think that's the bigger thing, Matt, is as much as we try, and I promise you all out there listening,
3:47watching, following all the content that we put out, both written and video, we are trying our best to sift through all
3:54of this information to give the most actionable stuff.
3:57But at the end of the day, football is going to football.
4:01And in one of the most violent sports that we have, I think variance, right?
4:05The things that you cannot account for, the things that charting or usage or data cannot tell you, like you just have
4:12to be prepared for that to happen inside of a fantasy season.
4:16And more importantly, Matt, how do you adjust when new information enters the fold?
4:20How do you adjust when a Kalief Raymond pops up?
4:23Do you just cover your eyes and ignore it?
4:26Are you like, you know what? Like, maybe, maybe this is part of how it's going to be.
4:31So that variance of the game of football is always just, it's always right there in front of us.
4:37Yeah, 71 yards per game for Kalief Raymond so far.
4:40I think it honestly might have been our, it had to be one of our least watched shows from August.
4:47And I even said this at the time that it was a, it was a very June coded August episode that I
4:53did with Nate Tice during the, during again, the middle of the month.
4:57And it was fantasy vultures, like guys who are going to be better in real life than in fantasy, but, you know, might affect fantasy distribution.
5:05Again, probably one of our least watched shows in August.
5:08I get it from a, from a title perspective, not the most clickable YouTube one, but we talked about Kalief Raymond as
5:15a guy in that episode that is better in real life than in fantasy.
5:19And now he's better in fantasy than we might've thought because of some of that value that he brings to the table here.
5:27So yeah, it's certain situations like this, you know, there's always a chance that we get to week 17 and we think
5:33back, man, wasn't it crazy that Colson Loveland through the first two weeks of the season was averaging 11 yards per game.
5:40And Kalief Raymond was 71 yards per game. There's a chance that that happens.
5:44There's also a chance that he hangs around all season long because it's working for the offense.
5:50That's something that I always, you know, want to put a premium on when it's working for the offense and shoot.
5:56It was really working for the bears last night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
6:00That's something that we always have to consider here.
6:03Just again, I think you're right to point out that a lot of the superstars have been as expected.
6:09It is some of these kinds of secondary actors, even this rounds four to five to six wide receiver range that I really liked picking from.
6:17There's been some okay hits so far, but not really one guy, you know, that off the top of my head that
6:24is absolutely crushing those expectations, the rounds four to five wide receivers.
6:27And like, again, it's, it's been fine. Some of the guys there have been okay.
6:32You know, a Jalen Waddle comes to mind where he's had one really good week and two less so weeks.
6:38You know, that's always going to happen at the wide receiver position, but you know, it's Christian Watson has been great from that range.
6:45Maybe a little bit after Parker Washington, depending on your league format.
6:49I mean, he had like a seventh round ADP for a long time on Yahoo.
6:54It's actually been some of the guys going later that have really boosted Garrett Wilson, the guy that maybe nobody wanted to
7:01draft from that range because it's a jet, you know, that he's actually been really good so far.
7:06So, you know, we'll see as, as kind of as the NFL turns as fantasy turns, how some of these things are sticky and whatnot.
7:14We're going to discuss some of those situations here today on the data dump.
7:18As we always do, we each share five stats.
7:21You need to know heading into the given week.
7:24And we also wrap up this episode with a recap of what's going on in the Yahoo fantasy league.
7:29Some very interesting things going on in the Yahoo fantasy league.
7:33We'll discuss that at the end of the show, but for now, Ray, let's get into it.
7:38Let's get to the week four data dump. Yes.
7:41Science. Calculations are correct. You're going to see some serious.
7:44As always, Ray, I cede the floor to you and let's hear what, let's hear it.
7:49What's your first data point? Yeah. A player that was drafted at the beginning of sort of the draft process in round one.
7:56And then an injury kind of scared people off of them and he fell.
8:00And then right before the season, he kind of started to get that steam back up.
8:05But Ashton Gentry starting running back of the Las Vegas Raiders.
8:09And we see right here, Raider on a lost arc.
8:12Ashton Gentry, the volume is there. He is a volume based running back.
8:16He ranks sixth amongst running backs right now with 63 carries on the season, but his 206 rushing yards have translated to
8:22only 3.3 yards per carry, which is 38th amongst qualified rushers.
8:26The efficiency for the second year running back has declined quickly each week of the season.
8:314.4 yards per carry in week one. And then 2.3 in week two, 2.9 in week three.
8:36And Ashton Gentry, yes, he is yet to score a Russian touchdown this season.
8:40And you see right here on the screen, his longest run, only 15 yards, Matt Harmon.
8:45Despite those 63 attempts, you know, he's only produced nine rushing first downs, a 42.9% rushing success rate.
8:51And according to Sumer Sports, he had a brutal negative 0.29 EPA per rush attempt through week two, a 34.1% success rate,
8:58only 56 yards on 19 carries in week three.
9:00And what's most concerning is no explosive plays from Ashton Gentry.
9:04He's not forcing missed tackles. He's not breaking tackles.
9:07He's getting targeted at a decent clip in the receiving game, but he's dropping a lot of passes.
9:12He's not converting those into usable yards. And then we saw Mike Washington get on the field in week three in a
9:19shootout versus the Raiders, excuse me, versus the New Orleans Saints and played so well that the coach has already come out
9:26to say, hey, he's earned some more opportunity in this offense.
9:29At the end of that game, you did see Ashton Gentry on the sideline, on the bench, getting his ankles worked on, ankles taped up.
9:37So maybe this is something where he's still not quite 100% from the prayer circle and the candles and turned down the
9:43music at practice when he got injured. But this is a little bit of a problem here for Gentry.
9:49Not so much so that you are going to bench him.
9:53You're not going to play him because if you're going to get 20 plus opportunities a game, they'll just bank on the volume.
10:00But I think the bigger fantasy takeaway is if Mike Washington does start to get some sort of role inside of an
10:07offense so far, it's been really good. I would say Clint Kubiak, if you had to give me a vote for early
10:13coach of the year, it would be Clint Kubiak and the 3-0 Raiders.
10:17I know they've got a tough task this week.
10:20What are your thoughts on Gentry, Mike Washington, and is he still lingering from this ankle injury that he had coming into the season?
10:28I would guess so, right? You know, they can call it a low, high ankle sprain, whatever you want to call it,
10:34but it did seem like it was a high ankle sprain to some degree, maybe on the lower variety, whatever.
10:40Still, it takes a minute for those guys to get back into full operational shape.
10:45You know, we talk about it as usually a six-week injury.
10:49So, Gentry's still probably not 100% back from that.
10:51Like, if he still has some lingering effects, that wouldn't be so surprising to me.
10:56You know, and that can easily be the explanation.
10:59You know, he's also not a guy that's going to be overwhelmingly explosive with his runs as it is.
11:05The Raiders are, they're actually from an offensive efficiency perspective, pretty solid.
11:08You know, 18th in the combined metrics that I look at, but it is the dropback EPA that's really lifting that.
11:158th in dropback EPA, 23rd in rush EPA. They're 27th in explosive play rate.
11:19They're not going to get a lot of explosives with this offense, even though Kirk Cousins has pushed the ball down the
11:26field, you know, in a pretty decent variety here.
11:29So, yeah, I mean, I think he's a guy that might never be the most explosive runner in the world, but I
11:35do think, you know, the ankle's getting taped up at the end of that week three game.
11:41I think that makes a lot of sense here.
11:43It is funny, Ray, like the Raiders are 3-0.
11:46Ashton Gentry, from a fantasy perspective, is still a top 10 back in points per game.
11:51Eighth among running backs behind only Gibbs, Walker, Henry, Robinson, Taylor, Swift, McCaffrey.
11:55And yeah, we're still a little like, hmm, is there meat left on the bone?
12:00You could almost kind of take that as a positive in a way.
12:04Yeah, you could. And I think that we're at that point now in this season with multiple running backs where a lot of trade questions are happening.
12:12Do you trade for him in seasonal leagues? Do you trade him away?
12:16And I do think that there are some pivots that you could make with Ashton Gentry if you didn't trust what was
12:23happening or you have a fear that Mike Washington...
12:26I mean, it just... Again, let's just talk ball here.
12:29The eye test, right? When I'm watching that game, that was one of the games I had to cover for the Sunday Night Recap show.
12:36Man, it looked like a whole different running back when Mike Washington was back there.
12:41You're like, oh man, like, whoa. This dude's got some serious, serious juice.
12:45So I wanted to preface this by I'm not insinuating or suggesting you bench him or he's not going to score you
12:52points because he's touching the ball 20 plus times a game.
12:55But Clint Kubiak and company came out already and said, hey, we got to get Mike Washington on the field a little bit more.
13:03So in this kind of spot where people are starting to react, whether it's Hampton, whether it's Janarian Price, you see him on the screen, or Ashton Gentry.
13:11Like, this is a big name. He's still a big-time volume kind of king.
13:15But if you could make a move in your league, like, I wouldn't...
13:19He's not the type of running back that I'd say he's untradeable.
13:23Like, no way I would not move Ashton Gentry.
13:26I'm keeping him no matter what. But I'm a little...
13:29I'm hoping he gets healthy, but it's been a little underwhelming despite the fact that he's getting all the volume still.
13:35Yeah, very fair. I definitely think the one takeaway as we're having this conversation, because I agree with you about Mike Washington,
13:42and I mean, even dating back to the preseason, it's like, you should get this guy on the field more.
13:48Because whereas I said Ashton Gentry might never be a true explosive back, Mike Washington definitely is.
13:54Now, can Mike Washington handle all the work the grinder carries?
13:57Maybe not. Can he do what Ashton Gentry can do as a receiver?
14:01I don't know about that. And that is something to really flag here that's been fascinating to me with Gentry.
14:07I was talking about air yards per target at the running back position.
14:11Typically, you just see these guys getting short area targets and the whole deal.
14:16That is not the case for Ashton Gentry. He is one of just 10 running backs with a 1.0 or higher air yard per target mark.
14:24He is at 1.81. The other few of the guys that are over that only have a small handful of targets.
14:30They don't even have double digits. Cam Scadaboo, David Montgomery, Tony Pollard.
14:34So 16 targets overall for Gentry. 1.8 air yards per target.
14:37Now, he's dropped three passes. As you mentioned, he also has two touchdowns as well.
14:42So there's definitely a guy in there that's been really impactful as a receiver.
14:46You know, producer Collins asked me, I said, the doc is Gentry slash Washington.
14:50This year is Stevenson slash Henderson. I actually think, Ray, and I made this comparison at one point during the preseason.
14:57I think there's a real argument to be made that Gentry is a souped up version of Zach Charbonnet and Mike Washington
15:04is maybe a poor man's Kenneth Walker. And we saw this group with Seattle, obviously, last year with Clint Kubiak, if that makes sense.
15:11It's, I'm smiling and I'm laughing because both of those are really good.
15:15Those are both really good. Is it, would it be worse if I said Gentry is the Najee Harris to the Jalen Warren that is Mike Washington?
15:23I mean, you look at these backfields, right, where there's two guys.
15:27And I think the biggest fear, here's the biggest fear if you have Ashton Gentry, is that Mike Washington actually does start
15:34to get, let's say, eight to ten touches a game, right?
15:37I'm not going ridiculous, but if he's getting eight to ten touches a game and he's explosive, like this is going to
15:44pull the ceiling down from what we all thought Gentry could be because we're still holding on to that draft capital.
15:50We're thinking about that Boise State tape and can this be a 30 carry guy, a 150?
15:56And we saw some of the big games last year.
15:59And I'm not putting all of this on Gentry's skill set.
16:02Sometimes the injury just, it affects how you play.
16:05And this Raiders team doesn't look like they're trying to slow down anytime soon.
16:09So from a team perspective, it makes a lot of sense to get Mike Washington on the field.
16:15Don't put him in your starting lineup yet. But I would absolutely be looking on waivers to see if he were out there just in case.
16:23And it gives me some confidence that if Gentry had to miss, if something happened to the ankle, like they probably would
16:30just fire Mike Washington up and say, let's go see what you can do.
16:34Oh, yeah. He is 34% rostered right now as Mike Washington.
16:37That number has to be a lot higher because if anything did happen to Gentry, they say, hey, we're looking at 3.2 yards per carry on Ashton Gentry.
16:46And we think that is injury based. Let's give this guy a breather because they don't even have a buy until week 13.
16:53They have a pretty late buy here. Let's go ahead and give him a couple weeks, maybe get him back to 100%.
17:00Maybe he misses a game where, OK, it's the Jets in week eight or the Niners in week nine, something like that.
17:07Mike Washington is going to be a guy that everybody wants to start in fantasy because I think he can be really
17:13impactful as a lead back for this team in addition to just being a compliment for Ashton Gentry.
17:19Yeah, he should be pretty close to 100% rostered.
17:22I think I've got him sticking around on a couple of benches.
17:25And definitely he is not somebody I will be dropping at any point for any of the, you know, let's go chase the Dolphins back.
17:33And he's worth it, right, Matt? You'll use a roster spot on him.
17:37You're just like, I'm fine. I know I'm not going to play him right now, but I've got no problem having him on the bench.
17:45No problem. Especially if he does become somebody that is a change of pace back that you can tell yourself a story
17:51about how he has some what the heck flex appeal at some point along the way.
17:56Last thing before we move off this topic, let me ask you an unfair question.
18:01On a scale of one to 10, what's your level of confidence that this is not a fluke for the Raiders?
18:083-0 start. The schedule going forward. Chiefs, Patriots, Bills, Rams, Jets, Niners, Seahawks all the way through to week 10.
18:14Then they just completed before they had that week 13 by Broncos Browns.
18:18So it's a mixed bag of a schedule. What's your level of confidence that this is not a fluke?
18:24They're going to beat New England. I think they're going to give Kansas City a run.
18:28Buffalo, we saw them act a little crazy. I think they're a better team than we thought.
18:34Okay. Are they an undefeated? They're going to run the table?
18:37Probably not because defensively they can still be had.
18:40But this is a much better team and the culture, the way that they're deploying.
18:44I mean, Brock Bowers, just having him back changes the math as well.
18:48Scaled of one to 10, I'm going to be fair to Las Vegas.
18:52I'm going to give them a five. I'm right in the middle with them.
18:57I'm going to straddle the fence here, Matt. I'll give them a five.
19:01I don't think it's a fluke, but I also don't think they're going undefeated for the next five or six weeks.
19:07I don't believe that's going to happen either. I'd agree with that.
19:11I'll give it a six, somewhere between a five and a six, maybe a five and a half and a six.
19:17So yeah, I don't think that I would still be surprised if they make the playoffs at some point.
19:23We don't run out of gas with Kirk Cousins, who's definitely played well, but has also put the ball in harm's way.
19:30I think at some point we want to see Mendoza here.
19:33But hey, that could also sort of stave off this being a fluke if they get him in there and he actually improves the quarterback play.
19:41Not that Kirk Cousins has played poorly, but there's still a lot of things.
19:46There's still just some things you look at from an offensive standpoint that you'd say, okay, this might be a little fluky.
19:53They score a lot of points per drive. They don't possess the ball pretty consistently.
19:57There is a massive gap. They have the third highest gap between their drop back EPA and their rush EPA.
20:03So Ashton Gentium proving actually could really go a long way to making this feel a little more stable.
20:09So yeah, definitely a fantasy hold. Not a guy I'd be selling.
20:13And if he has a couple of slow weeks, maybe they give him a rest here.
20:18We'll see how that goes. Okay, I want to go to my first data point here.
20:23And this is a guy who was definitely drafted earlier than the rounds four to five to six wide receiver range.
20:29And one of the guys that when he's been out there, he has been absolutely worth it.
20:34And that is Zay Flowers. I was tweeting about this earlier in the week, noting that Drake London was second in the NFL in yards per route run.
20:43If you look at wide receivers with 50 plus routes on the season after just one game with Michael Penix, just one.
20:50That's all it took in our Drake London second most efficient receiver in the league.
20:54Somebody asked me, where would Zay Flowers rank on the list?
20:58They said he would have to be first. Indeed, he would be first.
21:02I cut the minimum to 20 routes to find out.
21:05Zay Flowers, nine, just absurd. Nine point three six yards per route run.
21:09Wide receivers, 20 or more routes on the season.
21:12JSN is second with four point three five. Then it's Drake London with that three point eight six.
21:17So yeah, he's number one by a lot more than double the number two receiver there.
21:22He has a first down on 44 percent of his routes.
21:26He's been targeted on 48 percent of his routes.
21:28I mean, Zay Flowers is absolutely breaking the efficiency charts right now.
21:32Of course, he's been a part time player. You know, and I don't mean that in terms of his role.
21:38He just hasn't been on the field consistently because of injuries, everything like that.
21:43You look at a guy that has been, you know, again, it was the injury in week one.
21:48He only played a half. And then this past week, he was kind of more sprinkled in to the mix here.
21:55But we're showing the route chart on the screen here.
21:58And this is just what's so perfect about him in this offense.
22:01So many movement routes. They line him up all over the formation.
22:05Ray, I mean, if he stays healthy, man, he is just going to absolutely go crazy.
22:10I think he's a top 10 receiver rest of season in fantasy rankings.
22:14Matt, this is one man. We're about to toot our horn here because I've been doing this show with you for two years now.
22:21And I feel like a couple of times a year, we just have this Zay Flowers love fest.
22:27And it it never quite hit the level that it's finally feeling like it's about to hit right now.
22:33But you and I have been very big Zay Flowers guys.
22:36And I'm just happy to see it come to fruition for Zay right now.
22:40Right now in my Trinity score usage tracker, he's got the fourth highest Trinity score amongst wide receivers right now in the NFL.
22:48The only wide receivers being utilized by their team more than Zay Flowers right now.
22:52Jackson Smith and Jigba, of course. Chris Olave. Devontae Adams barely edges him out.
22:56And then he and CeeDee Lamb have the same usage score.
23:00I've got Zay Flowers right now. I updated this before last week's game.
23:04So this was before week three. His rest of season projections, I got him at 1245 yards, seven touchdowns and around 16.1 points per game.
23:12He's averaging about 21 points per game right now.
23:14And that's with missing one. So when you're talking about how bullish am I on Zay Flowers?
23:20Yes. And this is part of the reason why we talked about this sometime in the preseason.
23:25And you and I both like Rashad Bateman. But the reality is since 2024, Lamar Jackson does not prioritize the wide receiver two in the offense.
23:33When there's two receivers out there, he's primarily throwing to the number one guy.
23:37And even him running, I believe he only played like 20-something routes, 20-something snaps last week.
23:42He still had 84 yards, right? The Cowboys still said, hey, last play.
23:46Let's play man-to-man coverage and just give him a wide open 30-yard catch.
23:50He's awesome. And when he's on the field, Lamar Jackson is going to hyper-target him.
23:55Just stay on the field, Zay. Just make sure that hammy is good.
23:59Get in the cryo chamber. Do whatever you need to do.
24:02Keep that hamstring intact. You got one of the most efficient quarterbacks in NFL history with Lamar Jackson.
24:08And there just aren't that many threatening options on this team for them to move the ball to down the field.
24:14It's Zay Flowers, Zay Flowers, Zay Flowers. So I'm with you, man.
24:18Fifth best offense right now in terms of the combined efficiency metrics.
24:22They're for the fourth best team in my static score as well.
24:25They're pushing all the right buttons. There's a ton of motion, a lot of heavy personnel.
24:30They're getting under center, 10th highest rate. Play action, 10th highest rate.
24:34Motion, 10th highest rate. Fourth most motion at the snap.
24:37And that is what I think is key here.
24:40Because if you look at Zay Flowers, I was pushed back on people with this.
24:44We're like, well, Zay's small. He's a slot-based player.
24:47He's never been a slot-based player in his entire NFL career before.
24:51He's been more of a Z receiver. But so far in the two games that he's played, 55% snaps in the slot,
24:5810% in the backfield in week one. And then this past week against your Cowboys, 82% snaps in the slot.
25:04And again, he's been targeted six times in each game.
25:07And he's caught five in each game. And he's dropped one pass, which was against the Cowboys.
25:12He had a drop in that game. So it's just like everything is going his way.
25:17He's been super highly targeted. The yards after catch has been there.
25:21The deep passes has been there. Like Declan Doyle calls this game right now, Ray.
25:25Like he thinks Zay Flowers is one of the best players on the planet.
25:30Because everything is designed to get him the good stuff.
25:33And even like Bateman is in the slot on 26% of his snaps in week three, which is unusual.
25:39He's usually a guy that's been sub-10%. Mark Andrews is third on the team in routes with 13 in week three.
25:45He's running – I saw this on Fantasy Points Data today.
25:48He's running some of the deepest routes at the tight end position.
25:52He's a little bit of like a sacrificial player to open things up for the wideouts, which is unusual, right?
25:58So it's just very highly concentrated. Bateman is on the field for 91% of the routes.
26:03Zay Flowers 64%. That's obviously going to go up once he's healthier.
26:07The ball is going to Zay over and over again.
26:10Bateman is like a supporting actor. And Lamar is playing awesome.
26:13So everything to me just says yes on Zay Flowers.
26:16Like I said, top 10 receiver, rest of season rankings.
26:20That might be honestly conservative. You look at the schedule these next two weeks real quick.
26:24Just I'll throw back to you. Titans, Falcons. Like these two next two games, V's Healthy could be Firework Fest as well.
26:31No, Matt, I was just going to push you a little bit.
26:35I mean, do you want to go a little higher?
26:38I don't know if there are nine receivers that I would want over Zay Flowers rest of season.
26:44If you're just thinking about right now, I mean, of course, Jamar Chase.
26:48You've got Jackson Smith and Jigba. Amon Ross St.
26:50Brown. You know, a healthy Nico Collins if he's out there.
26:54But I don't know how many other receivers I would want.
26:57And I think a lot of people are still a little, I think they're still a little afraid, Matt, to put Zay
27:04in that range, to put him in that category.
27:07You know, Chris Olave is definitely up there. Because, you know, he's kind of been a guy that people know has been
27:13good, but it hasn't really hit the way it needed to.
27:17I know he was a Pro Bowl receiver last year.
27:20But, I mean, maybe six receivers, seven receivers that I'll take over Zay Flowers.
27:24A healthy Zay Flowers rest of season. Yeah, I think it's JSN.
27:28I think it's Jamar. I think it's Amon Ross St.
27:31Brown. Those are the ones for sure. Or probably CeeDee Lamb.
27:34Yeah, maybe Chris Olave. And then I kind of think that's it.
27:38Puka Nakua, I don't think so. Not with the way that he is currently injured right in this moment.
27:44Drake London may be an interesting conversation now that Michael Penix is in there.
27:48And, you know, Michael Penix only has one. I got to see it versus somebody other than Green Bay.
27:54But maybe Drake. Very fair. Very fair. You know, and maybe we can also say we should see it with Zay for
28:01someone to get, other than the Colts and the Cowboys, probably two of the worst defenses in the NFL.
28:07But nevertheless, you know, sorry. Sorry, Ray. Nevertheless, I do think we're in pretty lockstep here.
28:12Somewhere between five to seven is where Zay Flowers would be for me in rest of season rankings.
28:17Okay, let's get to your second data point. Where are we going?
28:21All right. Let's talk about more receivers. And I remember us having this conversation and we were a little, even me, I'm just like, could it finally happen?
28:30Garrett Wilson's been in the league for five years now.
28:33Five years now. And he has never, never had a season over 15 fantasy points on a per game basis.
28:39But it might be happening now because Geno Smith, Matt, is playing quietly really, really good football.
28:44Leads the NFL almost 76% completion percentage, which is unreal.
28:47Garrett Wilson last week, 13 targets, 36% target share.
28:50Kenyon Sadiq with Mason Taylor being hurt. Eight targets, 22% share for the rookie.
28:54These two combined for almost 60% of the targets and 66% of Geno Smith's passing yards in two of his three touchdowns.
29:01Again, Adnan Mitchell's got a damn club on his hand.
29:04Brees Hall is going to miss time right now.
29:07Mason Taylor is out, which just gives more opportunity.
29:10Can we want Jets? Do we finally kind of want some Jets?
29:13And is this finally the year we get elite-esque Garrett Wilson?
29:17And when I started tracking usage a long time ago, Garrett Wilson, the first videos that I did, I had no tool.
29:23I was just using fantasy points data before the new data suite.
29:27It was Garrett Wilson, Nico Collins, and Chris Olave.
29:30Just looking at their isolated metrics and how good they were, I'm like, man, if this dude ever gets a quarterback and
29:37maintains this level of usage, he can be a superstar.
29:40And it's been like 14 points, 14 points, kind of mediocre.
29:43But now he's averaging 19 points a game right now.
29:46Garrett Wilson, that is. And we talked about the people that are missing inside of this offense.
29:51I had no clue it was going to take Frank Wright to unlock this thing.
29:56But Garrett Wilson, I mean, we're talking about how high rest of season.
30:00And it still doesn't feel like the fantasy community in general has kind of caught up to how competent and, dare I
30:07say, how good this Jets passing attack looks for Garrett Wilson.
30:10And maybe as well, Kenyon Sadiq, who's going to be everybody's favorite waiver wire target at the tight end position this week.
30:17Very impressed by how Geno Smith is playing no interceptions on the season either to go along with that 75.5% completion percentage.
30:24Like, is this finally the Garrett Wilson season that we have wanted for years unfolding before our eyes, Matt?
30:30I think it might be. You know, the Yahoo Fantasy social team put the graphic out where I can't remember who I was on with.
30:37I think I'm kidding. I really can't remember who it was.
30:41Might have been Chris Allen. I'm not sure. Or I said, you know, I know I could get hurt again with Garrett
30:48Wilson, but I think I'm ready to get hurt again this year.
30:51And you know what? I don't think I'm going to get hurt again this year.
30:56He's balling. He's balling, man. You know, the targets are there.
30:59The opportunity is there. As we're showing here, like the route chart is it's a good mix of layups.
31:05You know, like we're seeing a lot of routes that are under 10 yards close to the line of scrimmage.
31:11Geno's getting those out on time. But there's also these deep out cuts over the middle.
31:16His touchdown catch was fantastic. Now, again, they're coming off a game against the Detroit Lions where everything is going to be shootout city.
31:24It's going to be a big 12 game against the Detroit Lions every single week indoors.
31:29Their secondary can't cover anyone. Their offense can score points.
31:32We know the whole deal there. That being said, Garrett Wilson is awesome.
31:36Geno Smith has played incredible football. The schedule is not too bad going forward.
31:40Talk about a, you know, another game that they against the Bears this weekend.
31:44That could be another high flying affair. There's just a lot to like about the way Geno Smith is playing right now.
31:51And if he can continue to hang on, I think Garrett Wilson can continue to hang on as a wide receiver one
31:58in fantasy because the talent has always been there.
32:01You mentioned the usage has always been there. People, it felt like this offseason, the first time people kind of finally tried
32:07to galaxy brain themselves into a take about, well, actually, maybe it's a little bit of like Garrett Wilson.
32:13He's just not that good. Give me a freaking break.
32:16Use your eyeballs and watch the guy play. He's awesome and he's playing extremely well right now.
32:21Yeah, I don't get it, right? Like we finally get the thing that everybody has been clamoring for for years and people
32:28are still a little skeptical, still a little hesitant.
32:31In my usage tracker, he's got the seventh highest overall usage for a wide receiver in the NFL right now.
32:37Like they are using him like an elite receiver.
32:40There it is right there. I know I could get hurt again, but I think I'm willing to get hurt.
32:46That was from Matt Harmon on drafting Garrett Wilson.
32:49And you said it, right? You were willing to take that risk.
32:53And again, Geno Smith doesn't have to be, he doesn't have to be Josh Allen.
32:57He doesn't have to be Lamar Jackson. What he needs to do is understand the assignment.
33:02And when you look at the Jets, like there are no, especially with Adnan Mitchell out, there are no Nats.
33:08It is very concentrated. It is the ball is going to a couple of people and the route deployment of Garrett Wilson
33:15are the things that you want to see. And Geno's pushing the ball downfield.
33:19Like he's, again, he's not Josh Allen, but he's a lot better than, especially what they had under center last year.
33:26And then trying to deal with the Aaron Rodgers being in, being hurt, them trying to backfield that position.
33:32Again, quietly, he is feeding Garrett Wilson. And we are finally getting a season where I do think he will clear finally
33:3915 fantasy points per game this season. Yeah. And the good news is that the Jets are, you know, not crazy in
33:45terms of some of the schematic buttons that they're pushing, but they are getting under center a decent bit.
33:51There's a little sprinkling of heavy personnel, which we know concentrates the targets to the perimeter receiver.
33:56And yeah, to your point about the Nats for these guys, I actually think everybody here is kind of worth their, you know, weight at this point.
34:05A.D. Mitchell is a guy that in the first two weeks of the season, 25% targets per route, actually more than Garrett Wilson.
34:12He's a viable number two receiver that is going to command some defensive attention, especially because he runs those vertical routes and
34:19can clear things out when Garrett Wilson needs the layups.
34:22You know, obviously there's no Omar Cooper Jr., but Kenyon Sadiq, man, he's another threat.
34:26Like this has been a problem for Garrett Wilson to do where he could concentrate the targets, but also concentrate all of the eyeballs on him.
34:34And they just can't sustain drives. Could this Jets team?
34:37But now, I mean, Sadiq looks awesome. I want to talk about him here for a second, too.
34:43Seven catches 105 yards and a touchdown in week three.
34:46He's another guy that is super low rostered. Of course, if you're listening to this on Wednesday morning on the audio feed,
34:53you already know that this has changed. But if you're watching us live right now on YouTube, which, by the way, if
35:00you're watching with us live on YouTube, interact in the chat.
35:03Tell us where you would rank some of these guys rest of season.
35:07Let us know and subscribe to the channel. Of course, 20% rostered in Yahoo leagues right now as we head into the waiver waiver run on Tuesday night.
35:16I can't imagine there's too many tight ends. Like I pulled up my rankings here for week four.
35:21Ray Sadiq was a guy instantly had to launch up.
35:24I mean, I'm definitely playing him over guys, you know, that were drafted much higher, like Tucker Craft, Colson Loveland.
35:30I'll take the chance on Sadiq in week four ahead of those dudes.
35:34One thousand percent. I'm looking at the usage for the tight ends right now, including week one.
35:40So I'm not even filtering for what he did last week.
35:43But the only ones that have higher overall team usage are Bowers, McBride, Kelsey Kincaid, Schultz, Juwan Johnson, George Kittle, Harold Fannin Jr.
35:50And he is right there layered on top of Tyler Warren and Isaiah Likely, which I think he will fly past Likely after this week.
35:58Oh, yeah. And, you know, we continue to talk about Tyler Warren and how they finally used him more last week out of necessity.
36:05But again, right, not knocking Adnan Mitchell because when he's on the field, he played well.
36:10But the fact that, and I think people are underestimating this.
36:13Braylon Allen ain't taking receiving work from any of these guys.
36:17Like Brees Hall, yes, there was a game this season, I believe week two.
36:21Brees Hall led the Jets in receiving. That will never happen with Braylon Allen.
36:25That is, it will never happen with Braylon Allen.
36:28They are not going to use him as a pass catching weapon.
36:32Three for three yards. That's what he got you in week three.
36:36He'll get an uptick in rushing volume, but I am not anticipating Geno Smith funneling targets to Braylon Allen.
36:42I mean, it could be easy button option city for Kenyon Sadiq, who is a crazy athlete at the tight end position.
36:48I saw a lot of people saying people overthought this one a little bit with Kenyon Sadiq.
36:54And, like, I don't want to go that far.
36:56Tight ends is, rookie tight ends in general are a little tricky, right?
37:00Especially when you're not Brock Bowers right out the gate.
37:03Even Trey McBride took a year before he started to pop off.
37:07But I just think that everything is aligning perfectly for Sadiq and Garrett Wilson to sort of really step up and dominate this Jets passing attack.
37:15Yep. I couldn't agree more with that. Six yards after catch per reception.
37:196.4 to be exact for Kenyon Sadiq. He's been a guy that can create some layups and get some downfield opportunities.
37:26He's running the routes. 57% route participation. Pretty much what you want.
37:2941% snaps in the slot, too. That's another key thing for Sadiq, because he's essentially their slot-based option, especially while Omar Cooper Jr.
37:36is banged up. Yeah, I think this is a fantasy starter right now at the tight end position.
37:42And, you know, this goes back to the show we did with Nate last week where the Jets are a viable offense now.
37:49They are 13th in the combined offensive efficiency metrics.
37:52That's a 17-spot improvement from where they were last year.
37:55Like, we can care about the Jets. Sixth best time of possession.
37:5912th in success rate. And 14th in explosive play rate.
38:02They're actually moving the ball and getting some big plays here.
38:05So we are trusting our Jets. What could possibly go wrong?
38:08Okay, last one before we get to the break here.
38:11Sort of sticking on the theme of recalibrating rest-of-season rankings.
38:15How many fantasy quarterbacks would you honestly take over Brock Purdy right now?
38:19Again, I don't think it is very many. Matchup caveats here are notable.
38:23However, through three weeks of the season, Brock Purdy has authored two of the best quarterback games of the season.
38:29So far from an adjusted net yards per attempt perspective.
38:32Against the Dolphins in week two, 14.86 adjusted net yards per attempt.
38:36That's number one. Number two is Brock Purdy against the Arizona Cardinals, 13.96.
38:40So, yes, obviously those teams are not good. However, this is what you do.
38:44You do great things against bad teams. You smash the cupcakes.
38:47That is what Brock Purdy and the Niners have been doing right now.
38:51I mentioned the offensive efficiency metrics. They are number one so far this season.
38:56Again, matchups matter here. But to be totally fair, to call balls and strikes in the spirit of radical candor, the Niners are not 100% healthy either.
39:04They're losing guys every single week. Trent Williams goes down in week three.
39:08Mike Evans misses some time. I mean, they're playing Kadaryl Hodge.
39:11A ton of snaps in week three. And still Brock Purdy looks amazing.
39:15So, you know, Ray, I'll throw the question to you about who would you rather have over Brock Purdy.
39:21I mean, it's Josh Allen, Lamar. I think the conversation begins after those guys.
39:25I think it ends there. I think it's Josh Allen, it's Lamar Jackson, and it's Brock Purdy.
39:31You see on the screen right here, 297 yards, four touchdowns.
39:34Matt, he did this on 15 completions. I don't even...
39:37Matt, if I just told you going into the week, hey, Brock's only going to complete 15 passes this week, you'd be like, I don't know.
39:45What happened? Yeah, what happened? 300 yards, 34 rushing yards, and he had a rushing touchdown called back on an egregious, awful holding call on George Kittle.
39:53Here's the thing. Brock Purdy's been efficient, man. He has been efficient, and for whatever reason, it took people a long time
40:00to get past the fact that he was Mr.
40:03Irrelevant, that they traded up for Trey Lance. If you had to vote for NFL MVP today, I don't know how Brock
40:10Purdy's not sitting at the top of the list for most folks.
40:13Because he has had to deal with a ton of adversity around him.
40:17Mike Evans limps off the field. Deebo Samuel, you know, second on the team in receiving yards, and he didn't even get a target in the game.
40:26How does that happen, right? This offense, the plate is on.
40:29Brandon Ayuk better thank Kyle Shanahan for scheming him up.
40:32And when you just think about the season when Ayuk had 1,300 yards, he had 100 targets.
40:38Not 100 receptions. 100 targets that season. That is how efficient this Kyle Shanahan offense is.
40:42And, I mean, if he does this, if Mike Evans has to miss any amount of time, and he's throwing the ball
40:49to Jordan Watkins, and whoever, Jacob Cowling, and whoever else they signed.
40:53Matt, how many? Allen, Lamar. I can't. I don't have anyone else, man.
40:57There's no one else. Now, to play devil's advocate here, or maybe to present the other side of the equation, we mentioned all these injuries.
41:05Does the dam break at some point? And does it break this week and next against definitely much tougher defensive competition?
41:11They got Denver at home this week. Then they go to Seattle in week five.
41:16This will really test some of this because those are two much tougher defenses.
41:20Now, the Broncos are a little gettable. You know, they're kind of a – they'll blitz you a good bit.
41:26They heated up Stafford, and obviously they got Stafford a good bit at times.
41:30But Stafford also got some passes off down the field.
41:34That can certainly happen for Brock Purdy. Injuries in the Rams receiver core as well.
41:38Seahawks were gettable against Marcus Mariota, but was that just kind of a weird road trap game?
41:43Potentially. I would be shocked if that happened against the Niners in week five in Seattle.
41:48So definitely big tests here for Brock Purdy, but someone that right now is for sure a QB1.
41:54You're starting every single week. You're not really thinking about it, and we can reassess if he doesn't have good games against these next couple weeks.
42:02But then again, before the bye in week eight, he gets the Commanders.
42:06He gets the Falcons. So there's a lot of gettable spots here for Purdy.
42:10Yeah, and then he gets the Raiders, and then he gets the Cowboys.
42:14So, I mean, is he going to go for 300 yards on 15 completions versus those teams?
42:19Probably not. But you know what, man? If there were an offensive coordinator that I trust to put together the best possible
42:26game plan for their quarterback to have success, it's Kyle Shanahan.
42:30And these two are in lockstep right now with how they're calling plays, how they're executing the offense.
42:35And Brock Purdy's legs, I don't want to diminish this.
42:38I mean, I would love to see the next-gen stats on that run.
42:42He was rolling Brock Purdy. I mean, I'm looking like, is that Mike Vick out there?
42:47We got Mike Vick rolling out there for San Francisco.
42:50But to your point, he's a fantasy QB1. And we talk about it every week, Matt.
42:55Is this a team that could trade for a receiver at some point?
42:59Just they have no choice because they are so banged up.
43:03I'm sure we can think of a couple that could be available in their services, I think, could be used by San Francisco.
43:10So we'll see. We'll see. You know, Kyle is a tough receiver grader.
43:14But they have made mid-season trades before. They traded for Emmanuel Sanders the year that they went to the Super Bowl and
43:20lost against Kansas City Chiefs the first time. So it's definitely not unheard of.
43:25There are certainly some potential disgruntled receivers out there.
43:28So something to monitor. And, yeah, you did mention the name Brandon Ayuk.
43:32I mean, man, guy's got to be. I know he's having fun dancing to, you know, the commander's win against the Seahawks on his Instagram story.
43:40But, my God, he probably should have played his cards better.
43:43Maybe he'd be a part of this team right now.
43:46But water under the bridge. Water. I mean, technically, he is still on this team.
43:51Theoretically, he is on the roster. So, God, yeah.
43:53Any change of heart there, folks? Any change? No, probably not.
43:57All right. We're going to get to our first quick break.
44:00We come back. We're rolling through more storylines, more stats you need to know heading into week four.
44:06We'll get into that right after this. All right.
44:09We're back. Let's get into it here. Ray, what is your third data point heading into week four?
44:14Yeah, I just want to say, man, I think it's important in life to find somebody in life that loves you the
44:21way that Sean McVay loves Kyron Williams. It doesn't matter if he drops the ball, fumbles the ball.
44:26Kyron Williams is inevitable to be on the field and be productive for us in fantasy football.
44:32Will the real Rams please stand up? And I know they were kind of playing catch-up to a degree last week versus the Denver Broncos.
44:39But Kyron Williams, six to seven targets, 70 yards in week three, more receiving yards than Jameer Gibbs or Christian McCaffrey, 88
44:46rushing yards on the ground, 158 yards from scrimmage without scoring a touchdown.
44:50And we know that he commands that goal line work.
44:53But when you look at this Rams team, right, dropping back 59 out of 82 plays last week, 72% dropback rate, 25 routes to Blake Quorum's 13.
45:02Quorum has a role on this team, but it ain't the valuable one, right?
45:06It's still Kyron Williams. And now that we're dealing with the Rams team, and I don't know how you feel about everything
45:13that seemingly comes out or does not come out about Puka Nakua.
45:16He's hurt. Terrence Ferguson banged up. Colby Parkinson banged up.
45:19I'm looking at Kyron Williams like, could he be just a super sneaky running back to just be dominant with his work
45:26in the receiving game, partly due to injury necessity?
45:29The Rams want to run a lot of heavier personnel sets.
45:32And when you look at that running back distribution, it is Kyron Williams is the pass catcher here.
45:38He is one of the most utilized and deployed wide running backs in a receiving role right now in the NFL.
45:44Surprisingly, about 11 points per game for Kyron Williams.
45:47It's coming from the receiving game for him this season, which was shocking to kind of dive into.
45:53But I'm looking at this Rams high flying attack.
45:55You've got Matthew Stafford, got Tay Adams doing his thing out there.
45:59But without Puka, without Terrence Ferguson, sure, Tyler Higby saw that uptick in usage.
46:03But I'm looking at Kyron Williams. Like, you got kind of like a mini wide receiver in your running back spot.
46:10And one of the things that I always say is there's a difference between running backs who catch passes and running backs
46:17who can be deployed as pass catching weapons. I still don't think Kyron Williams is what you would classify as a pass catching weapon.
46:24But he's a lot better than just like a dump off option for the Rams right now for an offense that we think to be pretty good.
46:32That's hurting right now. Like, how aggressive should we be on ranking, prioritizing Kyron Williams moving forward, especially with some of the
46:39injuries that the Rams are facing on their offensive side of the ball?
46:43Yeah, I have missed my 12th running back this week, you know, ahead of some decent names here.
46:49I mean, I'd rather have Kyron Williams and Saquon Barkley right now based on what I've seen from the Eagles offense.
46:55And it comes down to this pass catching role that you're talking about here.
47:00And this is a really good find by you.
47:02And it's interesting. We talked about those running back air yard per target marks earlier.
47:07Kyron Williams, 4.92, which he's sixth in routes overall, 4.92 air yards per target.
47:11That's crazy high. Again, I know that doesn't seem like much, but at the running back position, again, among guys that have double digit targets.
47:19Number two is Devon Achan, 2.4. Christian McCaffrey is number three, 2.0.
47:23Jameer Gibbs, number four, 1.95. We mentioned Ashton Gentry, 1.81.
47:26Only six guys have double digit targets and are over one area.
47:29But shoot, only those guys are over 0.7 area yards per target because Kenneth Walker is seventh and he's at 0.61.
47:36So abnormal downfield usage for Kyron Williams. Maybe need to dig more into the specifics on that.
47:41But I mean, this has not been normal for his NFL career.
47:45This is definitely a different wrinkle. Wonder if there's something to it.
47:49I mean, you look at just him from a receiving perspective.
47:52He actually did get going a little bit downfield last season to 2.66 area yards per target, which was a marked difference from his first three seasons.
48:00He had 50 targets, 36 catches for 281 yards.
48:03So far, he already has 12 targets, 11 catches, 106 yards, 35 yards per game, which is up from 16.5.
48:09So definitely a jump up from a receiving usage standpoint for Kyron Williams, which, yeah, I mean, they need to find ways
48:16to move the ball through the air. I wonder how much of this has been on checkdowns versus design stuff.
48:22I'd have to do a deeper dive on that.
48:25But yeah, really good note by you here because his receiving usage has been unique.
48:29Not just the results, but the way they're doing it, too.
48:33I went back just to go back a little bit.
48:362021 and 2020, I went back to those Notre Dame receiving stats.
48:40But his final two seasons in college, 77 receptions, averaged 8.7 yards in his career at Notre Dame.
48:45So coming out, I know he was not drafted high, but this is a player who can catch the ball.
48:51Again, I mean, I kind of started this off by saying he's not a pass-catching weapon, but I had no clue that
48:58the four— you said the second air yard running back was A-Chan at two, so he's doubled up.
49:04The second guy in Devon A-Chan, yeah, I mean, again, you've got Matthew Stafford, the reigning NFL MVP.
49:09You've got a good offense, and then you've got consolidation and concentration.
49:13You don't have to agree that Kyron Williams is one of the best receiving running backs in the NFL.
49:19I think if you put a poll out there, most people would say no, right?
49:23If you just put as Kyron Williams one of the best receiving running backs in the NFL, I guarantee you the poll
49:30would probably say no, but you start looking at some of these numbers, Matt Harmon, and I'm like, we already know that
49:37Sean McVay trusts him to run the ball between the tackles and at the goal line.
49:42If he can command a little bit more opportunity in the receiving game, I saw one of the tweets on there from Ian Hart.
49:49It's like he is, I want to say, underrated at the position and what he can give you right here.
49:55Remember, rushing success rate, Kyron Williams in 2023. So this is RB, NFL RB leader in rushing success rate, defined as runs
50:02that have gained 40% of yards, require first down.
50:05Kyron Williams 2023, 60%. Kyron Williams led in 2025, 63%.
50:08And right now, 63.2% Kyron Williams at the top.
50:11So not one of the guys that you consider one of the best.
50:15It is pretty frustrating because I can also put a graphic up here.
50:19Running backs who have fumbled the most over the last three years, and Kyron Williams' names would be at the top of this list.
50:26But Sean McVay loves him, and he trusts him.
50:29So I think for fantasy football, here's a question for the audience and for you.
50:34Right now, Matt Harmon, rest of season, Kyron Williams or the aforementioned in the show Ashton Gentry?
50:39Hmm. I think I'll go Kyron there. I mean, there's always the specter that, you know, Blake Quorum is going to take work from him.
50:47But yeah, I think I would go Kyron. You think, right?
50:50Like, yes, 11 points per game for Kyron right now is going through the air.
50:55He is being used like a pass-catching weapon in the receiving game.
50:58And it might be out of necessity, but what they have not done is they haven't used Blake Quorum like that.
51:05Right? So even if Quorum is taking some work on the ground, they have not deployed him in the receiving game the way that they're using Kyron Williams.
51:13So it's, again, sometimes you just, if you take a step back and kind of look at it, I know that the
51:20initial question, you're like, oh, it's got to be gentey, right?
51:24It's got to be gentey. And then you start looking around and you're like, hell, it might be Kyron Williams, you know?
51:30And I didn't mean to put you on the spot, Harmon, but that's how undervalued I think Kyron Williams is right now,
51:37especially with what's going on in this Rams offense.
51:40Yeah. Listen, it's a really interesting one. I think it's fascinating.
51:43And I'm in on it. I'm in on the Kyron Williams stuff.
51:47Again, just did a little dive on the actual targets here.
51:50So he has two targets and 2.5 air yards per target on checkdowns, according to Fantasy Points data.
51:56He has 10 other targets that are not checkdowns, 5.1 air yards per target on those in particular.
52:01So, yeah, a lot of interesting stuff going on with the Kyron Williams usage as a receiving standpoint.
52:07So, yeah, I think it's Kyron Williams over Ashton Gentry.
52:10I'm not 100% convinced on that, but I think it is.
52:13I'd have to think more on that one. Okay.
52:16My third data point heading into week number four, Terry McLaurin.
52:20He got going in week three, despite a tough matchup.
52:23I certainly hand up, did not see this one coming.
52:26Terry McLaurin, 88.6% route participation. No one else had higher than 77%.
52:29He had a 30% target share. It was 23% for Stefan Diggs, very concentrated between those two guys.
52:35So why did this happen for Terry McLaurin against the Seattle Seahawks?
52:39Couple things to note here. One, they have indeed moved Terry around more this year.
52:43Now, Diggs is the primary slot guy. That's for sure.
52:46But 21.6% slot rate is Terry McLaurin's highest since 2021 on the season.
52:50That's pretty electric, right? That's good to see. The other thing that was different in week three than the previous weeks, Trelon
52:57Burks actually ran more routes than Antonio Williams for the first time this season.
53:02And if you just look at the targets per route run, I think this really shows you the difference between these two guys.
53:09Trelon Burks, his average depth of route is very, very deep.
53:12Whereas Antonio Williams is actually going to get some of the designer stuff.
53:16He's going to get some quick looks. 10.5% targets per route rate for Trelon Burks in week three.
53:22It's 40% for Antonio Williams, who ran the same amount of routes as Deami Brown.
53:26When it's Trelon Burks as that third receiver, that's going to funnel looks to Terry McLaurin.
53:31Because I know Burks had a touchdown in week three, but he's Trelon Burks.
53:35He's not getting a lot of opportunities. He's not separating the whole deal.
53:39Antonio Williams, he does get some looks. He does get some playing time, and when he does, he gets the football because he has been separating.
53:47So really strong indication here that McLaurin, when it's Burks as the third receiver, and we'll see what it looks like this
53:54week, he can get more of those looks. The targets are going to go his way as opposed to when Williams is on the field.
54:02He's been a highly utilized player from a targets per route perspective.
54:06So we'll see about that over the course of the season.
54:09But I think that's part of the explainer. In addition to the fact that they have indeed moved him around more, he
54:16had a vertical route, a corner route, a couple of them from the slot.
54:20I think that actually kind of will keep up here as well.
54:24So big game for Terry McLaurin against the Seahawks, and he has a nice matchup in week four against the Colts.
54:30Yeah, this is one I think we were all...
54:33I don't think anybody was out on Terry McLaurin after the first two weeks.
54:37I just think people were kind of indifferent. I'll admit.
54:40Yeah, that's what I mean. It's just kind of like, hey, man, what's going on here?
54:45So to see him bounce back to the tune of nine targets, six catches, 77 yards, and a touchdown, and by far
54:52the highest and most heavily utilized wide receiver against a very difficult matchup, I think hat tip to Marcus Mariota, who is
54:59clearly, I'd say, probably the best backup quarterback in the NFL and looked very functional back there, albeit at home.
55:05I know it was only 183 yards, three touchdowns, but this is against the reigning Super Bowl champs, this defense that is all world.
55:12And Marcus Mariota was efficient. He got the ball to his big-time guys.
55:16Yeah, Traylon Burks scored. And I think with him, because I think it was last week.
55:21It was last week's game. Was that when they played the Cowboys?
55:25He almost caught a touchdown in that one. He had like one deep shot in the game, but he's not going to
55:32be a big target earner in the offense. Like Burks has a role.
55:36Go do some stuff. Open it up. And maybe that helps out Terry McLaurin to a degree, but good for Scary Terry because he's a really good receiver.
55:44He's somebody that you talked about those middle round wide receivers at the beginning of the show when we were talking about
55:51after like round five, some of those guys that you wanted to play well.
55:56You thought that Jaden Daniels could elevate them and you get some better production than where you were drafting them.
56:02Like I think this was a really positive step in the right direction for McLaurin.
56:06It was good to see him get in the end zone.
56:10And I watched his body language. It looked like a sigh of relief for him when he got in the end zone.
56:17He was like, hey man, I'm still good. I know it's been a little rocky.
56:21And he's somebody that you and I talked about going into the year last year.
56:26Matt, you had asked me, you were like, Ray, are you a little nervous about him?
56:31He didn't play all training camp. And I was like, ah, nah, Matt, everything would be good.
56:36And it wasn't good, right? Like he looked rusty.
56:39He did not look to himself. If we can get Terry McLaurin playing like he did a couple of years ago, I
56:45think that's good for everybody in fantasy football as well as for the commanders.
56:50Yeah, no doubt. And I think some of the routes that he's running right now, I charted his week two game, 32% slant, 19% curl, 19% dig.
56:58It's less of the vertical. We had a couple of big vertical wins in week three against the Seahawks.
57:04He actually got, it was mostly Josh Jobe, according to Sumer Sports, four targets, three catches, 41 yards in the touchdown on Josh Jobe.
57:11But like these quick slants that we're seeing here, some of the quick in breakers, stuff like that, that's new for McLaurin,
57:18who usually was running more vertical route tree. So shout out to Marcus Mariota, played a good game in week three.
57:25We might get Jaden Daniels back at some point.
57:27He did avoid having surgery, or at least he's going to pass on having surgery.
57:32So we'll see how that one goes. But good for Terry McLaurin to get off the map.
57:37And I do think he's someone that you can consider starting against the Colts in week four, because that's a gettable defense
57:44that plays a lot of man coverage. And Terry's always been a good man coverage receiver.
57:49Okay, Ray, let's get to your fourth data point heading into week four.
57:53Yeah, this might be one of the most pleasant surprises at one of the onesie positions in fantasy football.
57:59Juwan Johnson's playing like one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
58:03Tyler Shuck right now is averaging a league high 44 pass attempts per game.
58:07His 917 passing yards second in the NFL. And that level of volume for this Saints team has led Juwan Johnson to
58:1419 targets, 173 yards, both top six marks amongst the tight end positions.
58:18Juwan Johnson has received five of the New Orleans Saints 11 targets inside the 10 yard line, giving them that premium money
58:25down roll inside of the inside of that goal line area, that red zone area for Tyler Shuck.
58:30Last week, 31 routes to no offense, 17. I don't know if you knew this, Matt, but there was an NFL record set in that game.
58:38Six touchdowns between the tight ends in that game.
58:41Hasn't happened since 1981. I was not even alive when the last time that that happened.
58:46Six damn touchdowns by the tight end position. But I think this, there are a couple of things here.
58:52One, it feels really good because he was somebody that was drafted outside of probably like the top 15 wide receivers coming into the season.
58:59He was good last year. He actually played with Tyler Shuck for a season in college.
59:04That's how old the both of them are. More importantly, Tyler Shuck.
59:08But Juwan Johnson is quietly playing like one of the best tight ends in football.
59:13And that's with him fumbling the game away at the end of the year.
59:17He's third in overall total points in PPR formats.
59:20Like, you feel great about Juwan Johnson. And Devon Vele has been a really good number two kind of compliment to Chris Olave.
59:27But he's not a true, like a true volume threat for anybody else in that offense, which ancillary side note should make
59:34you feel really good if Jordan Tyson can get back on the field.
59:38But right now, I mean, Juwan Johnson, in my opinion, he's locked and loaded starting tight end week in and week out.
59:44Like, I'm not overthinking this one. He was good last year.
59:48He's in one of the best roles right now.
59:51And the environment is extremely fruitful with how much they throw the ball.
59:55I got no arguments on this one. Schedule's good coming up here.
59:58They have the Falcons this week. Now, they have the Vikings in week five.
60:03That's going to be a tougher matchup. But, you know, you can get that team over the middle of the field if
60:09you can solve some of the zone coverage looks.
60:12So there's that there. I would also say, too, just look at the routes run.
60:17I mean, because of how many plays the Saints run and the pace at which they play, 45.7 routes per game for
60:24Devon Vele, number one in the NFL. Chris Olave, 44.
60:27I agree with you. Jordan Tyson, if he can get back there, he's going to be playing a lot.
60:33But then Jawan Johnson's 35. That's second at the tight end position is Jawan Johnson behind only Trey McBride, 36.
60:39Brock Bowers only played one game, but he ran 35 routes.
60:42Like, these are the guys. The only other one who runs a ton of routes and just doesn't get any looks is
60:49Kate Otten, which is interesting enough because 34.7 routes per game.
60:52But for the most part, you're on the field running routes at that level at the tight end position.
60:58You're going to be involved. You're going to be involved a ton.
61:02Speaking of being involved a ton, my fourth data point heading into week four.
61:06Jalen Warren was a workhorse in week three, and it was pretty damn good results for Jalen Warren.
61:12There have only been seven games so far this season where a running back has seen over 90% of the backfield touches for his team.
61:19James Cook against the Lions, 100%. Jonathan Taylor against the Ravens, 96%.
61:23Devon HN against the Raiders, 94%. Jonathan Taylor, once again, 93%.
61:26Jameer Gibbs against the Saints, 92%. Jameer Gibbs against the Bills, 92%.
61:30Jalen Warren against the Bengals, 90.9%. 91%. I mean, that's the type of stuff you get into the Jonathan Taylor, the James Cook, the Jameer Gibbs usage.
61:38These are guys we were drafting in the first two rounds of fantasy drafts if you throw HN in the mixer.
61:45But for the most part, these are all first round picks in fantasy.
61:49The average points scored in those seven games, 21.5%.
61:52If Rico Dowdle is out, Jalen Warren is in your fantasy lineup, and you don't ask any questions about it.
61:58I honestly, this was fun to see. And this was against the defense that people were starting to think, hey, this Dexter Lawrence led front.
62:06You know, Bucky Irvin didn't do much. And next week, they didn't do much.
62:10And then Jalen Warren. And it should have been a bigger day.
62:14I mean, he hit a landmine in the field and fell down.
62:17He should have scored a touchdown in this one.
62:20I'll just say this. There was some chatter on X that, like, Eli Heidenreich was going to get touches and all of that.
62:27And, folks, he's locked and loaded. He's locked and loaded in your lineup.
62:31I thought he looked great. And then the three for 49 through the air, that's just, that's like a cherry on top of the cake right there, Matt.
62:40So I've got nothing else to add. But I'm firing up Jalen Warren across all formats and all leagues if I have him.
62:47I will believe that Aaron Rodgers is going to allow a converted receiver running back hybrid at a Navy rookie, like seventh
62:54round pick Eli Heidenreich on the field for passing downs.
62:57I will believe that when I see it. Okay.
62:59But for the most part, I think we're going to be seeing a lot of Jalen Warren on the football field.
63:06So Browns in week four. Yep. If Rico Dowdle misses another game in week five, I would guess he, I would guess Rico misses on the short week.
63:15He didn't participate in practice on Monday. Maybe I'm wrong.
63:18We'll see week five Colts. That's another really good matchup as well.
63:21Just a ton of good games here coming for Jalen Warren.
63:25So if you drafted him, congratulations. I think you got yourself a fantasy starter, a great flex play, probably because you have
63:32two other good running backs, but he's somebody you should be putting in your lineups.
63:36No question going forward. Okay. Ray, your fifth and final data point heading into week four.
63:41Yeah, I've seen, uh, I've seen our counterpart, Josh Norris talking about this player a little bit, and I get it that
63:48the Miami dolphins are not a good team, but it's Malik Washington kind of like some buried treasure in Miami.
63:54Now that Devon H and unfortunately is on IR, he got sort of the scam targets inside of this offense, 10 targets, two carries 27% target share Miami.
64:03They're going to have to drop back a lot.
64:05I don't think they're running the ball on anybody moving forward with Ali Gordon or Jalen Wright.
64:11So I guess my quick question to you, just looking at Malik Washington, and this is a player that I liked coming out of college.
64:18I do think that in the right offense, he could be PPR scam ish with the right quarterback, but out of necessity
64:25here, like is Malik Washington, somebody we should be putting bids in off of waivers.
64:30I think Norris said, Hey, I'm not, I'm not worried about Ali or Jalen Wright.
64:34Give me Malik Washington. Oh yeah. I just forget about it with Ali Gordon, Jalen Wright.
64:39If I'm wrong about this, you can come light me up in the comments later.
64:44You can add me on Twitter. If those guys end up being great picks, totally fine at me anywhere at me on,
64:51at me on threads at me on whatever. Okay.
64:53If I end up being wrong about that, that's fine.
64:57Shoot. But listen, I don't, it wasn't happening for a chain.
65:00You think it's going to happen for the backups at the running back position for Miami.
65:05I doubt it. Malik Washington. I actually am with you.
65:08He was a prospect. I liked as well. I thought he was like a day two guy that falls in the draft
65:15because he had a little bit of a neck issue.
65:18Now he's been used as mostly a scammy designed targets player through the first couple of years of his career, but I
65:25think he can win on his routes, but he also will continue to get some of those design targets too.
65:31He also has three rush attempts on the season so far.
65:34I talked about that yesterday with Boone. So there's something here for him.
65:38There's something here. And I just feel like the, the, the, are the dolphins, not just going to have to go super pass heavy.
65:46There's no way. I know they've played super slow pass rate over expected is in the toilet.
65:51But you would just imagine that now at this point with the way that we're going to be looking, I mean, it's, it is crazy.
65:58The dolphins are so bad and they're 31st and pass rate over expected.
66:02Like they're trying to establish the run. They play with the slowest pace in the NFL.
66:07There's no, they can't keep doing that. I can't imagine with a chant out of the mix here.
66:13They might have the worst pass defense I've ever seen in the NFL.
66:17Like they make your, they make the 2025 Cowboys look good.
66:20Okay. That's how bad they are. So yeah, to me, what, I'm just using a recent example that people can, people can remember.
66:27Okay. Just using a recent example, right? Just, just, just citing, just citing a recent example from recent NFL history that people
66:34can remember how bad that Cowboys defense was last year.
66:37Okay. Don't, don't, don't be offended. Yeah. It's bad.
66:40I'm not even talking. I'm not talking about this year.
66:43I'm talking about last year. A 0.408 EPA per drop back allowed by the Dallas Cowboys last year.
66:49That was by far the worst in the NFL this year for the Miami dolphins.
66:53Pretty close. Okay. Pretty close in terms of the EPA per drop back allowed.
66:58All right. So listen, 0.46. It's worse. Cowboys, by the way, are actually 0.408 again in terms of the EPA allowed.
67:04So look at that. What do you know? They're really bad.
67:07They're really bad again this year. That's pretty funny when you think about the Cowboys.
67:12All right. Anyways. I actually think I had the EPA numbers mixed up there.
67:16Excuse me. Yeah. It was 0.397 for the Cowboys last year.
67:2031st. The dolphins were worse last year. 0.6 points.
67:23Give, give us every point we can have, man.
67:25Yeah, you're right. You're right. I misspoke. They're actually worse this year from an EPA allowed perspective than they were last year,
67:32the Dallas Cowboys, but somehow the dolphins are also worse than all these teams.
67:36They're worse than the 32 versions from last year.
67:39They're there 32nd. Again, they might be the worst pass day fence we've ever seen.
67:44So you'd think Malik Washington, these guys have to get it going here.
67:48And I like, by the way, how the receiver room kind of works, Ray.
67:52You think about Caleb Douglas when he's healthy as the vertical X, Chris Bell, kind of a movement guy.
67:58And then Malik Washington, they've been using him on downfield routes too.
68:02Yeah. There's again, when the coach comes out before the season and says, we're not evaluating this team on wins and losses
68:08this year, that lets you know you're in for a rough ride with Jeff Halfley.
68:13But I do think that if you look at all the weapons, and I'm glad you brought up Chris Bell's name, Bell
68:20and Malik Washington, especially with Caleb Douglas right now nursing that injury, like, and if you watch that game, they were competitive in that game against Kansas City.
68:29They were. It was not like they went out there and just got foot put in them.
68:34They were competitive. And Malik Willis looked a little bit better.
68:37It's not going to equate to wins, but we're just talking about, can we find some cheap fantasy production?
68:43I think Malik Washington, Chris Bell could provide that out of just strictly pure necessity because I'm with you.
68:49And I think you nailed it. If it didn't happen for Devon H and dude, like, I mean, come on.
68:55I was an Ollie guy, but I just don't, I don't have a lot of confidence in that Russian attack right now.
69:02Yeah. Here's the one problem with all this, like, oh, interesting.
69:05These Dolphins receivers, this and the other, they play the Vikings this week.
69:09Okay. All right. Are they going to score? Are they going to score any points against the Vikings?
69:15I don't know. We'll see. So speculative pickup for maybe the weeks where, oh, they play the Bengals in week five.
69:21Like maybe we can get in the Jets in week seven after the bye.
69:26You know, maybe that could be fun. We'll see.
69:28Okay. But speculative pickup. I do like me some Malik Washington though.
69:32So I am rooting for him because I was so mean to you Cowboys nation producer Colin.
69:37I can hear him in my ear crying in the, in the background.
69:41I'll, I'll, I'll pick on another NFC East team here with my fifth and final data point heading into week four.
69:48All that off season talk about the Eagles change in the passing game lies lies at least so far through three weeks.
69:54Very little has changed structurally in the Eagles passing game compared to previous versions.
69:59They rank dead last in play action rate this year.
70:02It is down from 24.3% to 9.3%. That's not so their use of heavy personnel is also down this year.
70:08That's obviously due to injuries, but you know, Dallas got her not available.
70:12They got to sign Zach hurts off the waiver wire.
70:15They got a, you know, Johnny months, the other tight end Eli Stowers hurt grand Calcetara.
70:20I get it. That part is maybe a little bit unfair, but they're mostly like a spread offense.
70:26Their under center rate is still up, but it's just 26th in the league.
70:30So there's no under center. There's no play action.
70:33And they're 30th in motion rate this year. According to fantasy points data, guess where they were last year?
70:3930th. Really? The only thing that's changed is actually the run game.
70:42Structurally, their zone rushing rate in terms of percentage of carries is up.
70:46Okay. We're implementing some of that outside zone. Well, the success rate has fallen from 10th to 20th this year.
70:52So it's changed not for the better in the run game.
70:56And in the past game, we're not seeing really any of these fun bells and whistles that were promised from, you know,
71:03kind of the green Bay ish mold or the Rams or whatever you want to say from Sean Manning coming in here,
71:09it looks very, you know, Nate and I have made this comparison.
71:13It looks very Russell Wilson coded for Jalen Hurts, where every offense just kind of ends up looking the same overall here.
71:20And that's what we've seen at least through three weeks.
71:23Maybe it changes, but through three weeks, Ray, more of the same for Philadelphia.
71:27Yeah, not good. I mean, this, it, I don't know how we talk about embarrassing losses all the time on the Sunday recap show.
71:35We talk about embarrassing losses. I don't care if they were on the road, this, they look inept offensively in this game.
71:41And we heard a lot of conversation coming into the season about Jalen Hurts throwing over the middle of the field more.
71:48I'm looking at his, like a chart of all of his passes and where they are short, right?
71:5441% of his past attempts are to the short, right?
71:5725% short left and only 14% are short middle passing attempts.
72:00Deep middle of the field, 2% of his passes.
72:03So they are not attacking the middle of the field at all.
72:07It is out routes and flat routes. And let's try to throw the ball towards the sideline.
72:12And we don't know how to use Makai Lemon.
72:15And let's just throw it up and pray that Devante Smith can make a ridiculous catch.
72:20Their offensive line is a problem. They really can't run the ball.
72:23It, it, it, I don't really know what to say besides this is pretty disappointing.
72:28And I had no clue that some of the numbers were as bad as they were until I read them on the show sheet today from you.
72:36So yeah, no bueno in, in Philadelphia. And I'm sure even AJ Brown with his hurt ankle is looking at this thinking,
72:43yeah, I don't miss that one bit. Yeah. I mentioned my static score a lot in terms of offensive design.
72:49They're 32nd. They're the dead last team ranked there.
72:52So it's just, it's not great for what we're seeing in Philadelphia right now.
72:56Yeah. The, the Makai Lemon stuff, it sucks. Like throw that, throw those plays in the trash.
73:01Okay. And I'm not even saying like Makai Lemon, I'm not saying at all Makai Lemon sucks.
73:07I actually plays are awful, Matt. Like, I don't want to, I don't want to see a pass to him behind the line of scrimmage again.
73:15All right. And, and this is one of those things too, where, you know, I love, I love Devante Smith.
73:21I was going to, going to bat for him last night on social media being like, oh yeah, I remember when people
73:28thought this guy couldn't win as an outside receiver against man coverage because he was too small.
73:33Well, it turns out he was, he's been great against it ever since he's hit the NFL field.
73:38When your other receiver is like 170 pounds, you're not going to get a lot of the blocks in the screen, get
73:45the screen game stuff just looks so bad. So Lemon gets smacked behind the line of scrimmage.
73:50He's not even really a, they use them kind of like Jaden Reed in the offense.
73:55He's not Jaden Reed. He's not, he's it's, that's not, it's just very weird.
74:00And I know he's coming off of, of lost training camp and that's got to be a big part of it.
74:06But I mean, give me a break with this lemon stuff.
74:10Like let's use him as a, it's like they've got the right pre-snap.
74:14He's like a on ball slot receiver. I like that part of it, but let's get his routes a little bit more
74:20activated here down the field a bit. Dante Binks has been solid.
74:24Smith has been good. The receiving talent is good, but they're not doing a lot schematically to help these guys out.
74:30You got Nick Sirianni calling opposing opposing teams, you know, some, some unsavory names.
74:35You got big Dom camera hunting. It's just more of the same for Philadelphia right now.
74:40Does it get better? Do you, do you think, cause that's what we do.
74:44We do a lot of hoping in fantasy football.
74:47Do you, do you think this gets better in any way, shape or form?
74:51Where's the light at the end of this? How far down the tunnel is the light, Matt?
74:56Can we, can you see it? Are you squinting?
74:59Is there any light at the end of this tunnel?
75:02A run game doesn't get better. I think the past game actually will get a little bit better.
75:08So this, these are guys I think I'd hold out hope for.
75:11Cause this is a big schematic left turn. And the, I said this a lot during the off season.
75:17This remains how I felt the schedule the first three weeks.
75:21It did make me kind of maybe squint at what I was saying.
75:25Like, could they get off to a hot start?
75:27Because they played the commanders, the Titans and the bears turns out.
75:31No, this is going to be a slow start team to sort of get going on offense.
75:36They're two in one. The sky is not falling.
75:39I think the defense let them down more than the offense.
75:43I don't know. That might not even be true, but Ben Johnson was cooking.
75:47I'm going to talk about this with Josh and Hayden tonight on stats versus film.
75:52So after you watch this live show, you go watch the two hour live show.
75:56They're just content, content, content. We'll talk about more of how Ben Johnson cooked that defense up on that show.
76:02So yeah, again, I think it will get better, but a lot of the same so far for the Philadelphia Eagles with Jalen hurts a quarterback.
76:10And that's just, maybe that is what it is.
76:13Maybe this is always going to happen with hurts.
76:16Cause this is how some quarterbacks operate. Okay. We are going to take our last break of the show.
76:22We come back. We got an update on the Yahoo fantasy league, an update.
76:26I'm very excited to talk about. We'll get into that right after this.
76:30Welcome to the Yahoo fantasy expert league recap show.
76:33And you know what? I'm going to say expert league.
76:36Sometimes I don't, I don't like the word expert.
76:39I'm pretty, if you're watching the show, you can tell that, but listen, when you're three and O in the league, you know what?
76:46Why not call it the expert league? Why not say like, yeah, you know what?
76:51This is a league of esteemed experts, the best minds in their field.
76:55And you know what? I'm undefeated. All right. Am I peaking too early?
76:59That's not what they're saying. The people are saying I'm establishing momentum for the rest of the season.
77:04Here is your week three recap. Yeah. Theoretically I'm tied.
77:07All right. I don't care what the points. Okay.
77:10There's three, three and O teams. Scott Pienowski, number one with the most points scored.
77:15That's great. Max, the onesies. Remember when we're all like, dude, what are you doing?
77:19Taking those onesie positions? Well, he's been great. He's been pretty dang good.
77:23I'm also three. You know, though, let's get into the recap here.
77:27This is what happened in week three, starting with my game.
77:30Harmon's deep threats because I never changed the default name here.
77:34Can't do it now. I'd love to have a creative name, but we can't disrupt team chemistry.
77:39We sunk the proton torpedoes in week three. Nothing overly fancy about this three and O start.
77:44Okay. Here's the deal, though. I've got 40 points combined from James Cook and Derrick Henry.
77:49Like I said, we're boomer balling again in 2026.
77:52Yes. I love wide receivers. I chart wide receivers all day long, but it's the running backs that are going to carry me to success.
78:00As long as these guys can stay healthy. Also, talk about a little PPR scam going on here.
78:05We got Tyler Warren. We got Josh Downs. The comments were like, how can you have both of these guys?
78:11Well, when the ball only goes three places in the Indianapolis Colts offense, Josh Downs, Tyler Warren.
78:17I'm feeling pretty good. Emeka, Buka, Jalen Waddell. Those have been up and down performances.
78:21Mostly down. Except one game for Jalen Waddell. You know, who cares?
78:25As for Eric, things could be looking up. Braylon Allen is on his bench.
78:29So no waiver wire action on Braylon Allen. But, you know, there's a lot to work on here for Eric coming out of this week.
78:37He had some unfortunate, disappointing performances. He did at least finally get away from the Kyle Pitts disaster.
78:43Unfortunately, Dalton Schultz didn't continue the scam that he got in week two.
78:47Was it? Yeah, week two. Okay. So there we are.
78:50Here we are. What do we think, Ray? What a beautiful team I've put together.
78:5420 points on the bench from Michael Wilson. Yeah.
78:57Yeah. I think, you know, the call to sit Justin Herbert was bold, but it didn't really hurt you, right?
79:03Only a two-point difference there. So I think moving forward, your big call is what do you do with Ibuka, right?
79:10Like that one's going to be tough, especially with Baker Mayfield being out.
79:14I think Michael Wilson will absolutely be in your lineup somewhere next week.
79:18And I'm looking at that Mike Washington Jr. that you have just stashed away that we talked about at the beginning of the show.
79:25Doubt he's hitting waivers. Looking at Eric's team, disappointing.
79:28Hampton, McMillan, Schultz, New England's defense, just disappointing, disappointing, disappointing.
79:31So nothing he could have done. I mean, he put the best possible lineup out there.
79:36He just got beat by the better team, and that was you this week.
79:40I don't know what I'm going to do about this quarterback situation.
79:44Now I've just kind of got like a headache of two guys who have been disappointing, Kyler Murray and Justin Herbert.
79:50But we'll figure that out as we go. Okay, speaking of disappointing Ray, a loss for you here in week three.
79:57The Boone supremacy reigns over Ray. Matchup with plenty of fireworks.
80:00Okay, 121.7 points for you. 124.9 for Justin Boone.
80:03Listen, I was telling Boone last night, it's in the bag, bro.
80:07Don't worry about it. He only needed 10 points from Jalen Hurts to win.
80:11Only needed 10 points. He barely got him, 13.6.
80:14But it was just enough to get over the line.
80:17And you had a – hey, listen, you've got a good team over there, Ray.
80:21Bijan, hero performance. Parker Washington, Matthew Golden. You got some good picks here.
80:25Just a little bit too little against Justin Boone.
80:28Yeah, I mean, there's – the Jake Ferguson, Dalton Kincaid thing is going to just eat me alive.
80:34When I sit Ferguson, he outperforms Kincaid. When I start Ferguson, Kincaid smashes him.
80:38I gave it my best try, right? Like I put out the best roster, the best lineup I could have.
80:44Maybe – even Travis A. Chan wouldn't help with that extra point right there.
80:49I lost a good one to Justin on this one.
80:52I'm not upset about it. It is what it is.
80:55I lost by less than – what did the producers say?
80:58Less than three and a half points, three, four points in this one.
81:02We'll try again next week, man. This hurt because it felt like I had a chance.
81:07I'm watching. I'm like, ooh, man, I just need one Hurts interception.
81:11That tush push at the end of the half.
81:13Get out of here. The clock hit zero. That shouldn't have counted.
81:17But here we are, man. I'll be all right.
81:20I'll be all right. Look at Boone. Look at Boone having James Conner and Jordan Tyson in the IR spot.
81:26The James Conner thing. He's hoping he gets traded to the Packers or something here, which you know what?
81:32It might happen. Okay, let's talk about how Scott and Max also got to 3-0 here.
81:37Scott took down Josh handedly to stay undefeated. Josh Norris, nobody was feeling themselves more than Josh Norris after that draft.
81:43He's got some issues here. Yeah, he's got – his boy Kenneth Walker, that's great.
81:48His other guy, Saquon Barkley, not doing so great.
81:51Meanwhile, he's starting DK Metcalf with a straight face.
81:54And Drake May, 5.8 points for Drake May. What is Josh going to do?
81:58He's got CJ Stroud on the bench. I mean, is he going to start CJ Stroud over Drake May in week four?
82:05Who knows? Meanwhile, Scott's team. I mean, Scott's got a little bit of a wagon going on here.
82:10Brock Purdy, unbelievable. The running backs are not – man, the running backs actually stink.
82:15David Montgomery, Trayvon Henderson. But he's got Kyron Williams as the lead back.
82:19He's got him in his flex there, of course, playing it smart because he was the Sunday night game.
82:25Just in case. That's why Scott's the GOAT. Amon Ross, A.
82:28Brown, a Luther Burden. You know, there's some good players here.
82:31Maybe not a juggernaut team, but Brock Purdy really the anchor of this thing right now.
82:36I mean, Zay and Juwan Johnson on the bench.
82:39I think Scott's got to get Juwan Johnson in that lineup pronto.
82:43But he's got a really good team. I mean, 17 points from the doggone Minnesota Vikings defense.
82:48That's great. I mean, I'm looking at Josh's team.
82:51He's got a bench May. I don't know how he keeps rolling Drake May out there.
82:56He lost Brees Hall as well in this game.
82:59It might get rough for old Norris here real fast.
83:02Yeah, man. Scott would say flowers, Juwan Johnson, Jordan Love on the bench.
83:06Might have the best bench in the league. In addition to the fact he's got Jordan Mason on IR, Emmitt Johnson on
83:12the bench as a stash as well. A lot to like about Scott's team.
83:17There's no question about that. Max also fierce competition as well.
83:20Continues to get the final laugh after that, you know, hammering he took in the draft room.
83:25He goes with a 40-point win over Chris Allen.
83:28Oh, Chris started so hot in week one and it's falling apart here.
83:32Only 86 points. Yeah, he was feeling himself too after week one.
83:36Only 86 points for Chris Allen. Meanwhile, Max, 19 points from Josh Allen.
83:40Wasn't even a monster game. Who cares? Doesn't matter because he also got Devontae Adams absolutely cooking for him.
83:46Jalen Warren, 19 points. Ja'Cory Krosky-Meridan, only 4.8. Doesn't really matter because Brock Bowers came back and was absolutely electric.
83:52The receiver room is still pretty rough to look at outside of Devontae Adams for Max.
83:57Roma Dunze, 5.9 points. Not getting it done there.
84:00Xavier Worthy, does he even exist at this point?
84:02Makai Lemon on the bench. I don't know about that.
84:05He's hoping that Alec Pierce or Tank Dell could come back soon.
84:09They're on his IR spot. I don't know that that's a lot of hope there.
84:14But you know what? He keeps getting it done.
84:16Tight ends and quarterbacks scoring a lot of points for Max here.
84:20I forgot where he drafted Bowers. But that's a big boost for Max.
84:24I mean, Josh Brown turned the ball over freaking, what, four times?
84:28Something like that. He still scored 19 points. Crazy.
84:31I'm looking at Chris. And I'm looking at his roster.
84:34And it's just Chase Brown, disappointment. Ladd, disappointing. Tucker Craft, disappointing.
84:37It's just Justin Jefferson banged up. Debo. I mean, he got the 15-4 with no targets.
84:42So we'll see how Alan navigates this. And I'm looking at the bench, and there's not a lot of hope there either.
84:49So he's going to have to hit that waiver wire for sure.
84:53Eric Edholm sends Dan Titus to 0-3 in the someone's got to win this game bowl.
84:57Eric Edholm is in 10th place. Dan Titus in 12th.
85:01But you know what? Edholm pulls it out. Edholm's got some guys here.
85:05He got a big game from Jordan Addison after Justin Jefferson got hurt.
85:09He's got Trey McBride. Patrick Mahomes definitely going to outkick that ADP.
85:12He's got Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes on the same team.
85:16Too bad this is not a super flex here for Eric Edholm.
85:19And maybe he's got some reinforcements coming if Pukunakua and A.J.
85:23Brown can get healthy. But for now, he gets the win over Dan Titus, who falls 2-0-3 here.
85:28But he's not the only 0-3 team in the league because Hayden's turtleneck sends Joel to 0-3.
85:33Yeah, good people, good players and good people. Not a lot of good happening for Joel's team.
85:39I'll tell you right that. They're a bad fantasy football team.
85:42Man. The people keep – I mean, how could – they're writing copy about median.
85:47The tweets are like, oh, Joel needs the median.
85:49Joel needs the median. Too bad, folks. There's no median in this league.
85:54It's a head-to-head league, and Joel keeps losing. I mean, people are having their best performances of the year against – Joel's got to play better defense.
86:02I don't know what to tell you. He's the Detroit Lions right now.
86:06A good offense, I guess, 126 points. Keep letting up points on the other side of it here.
86:11You know, there's – I don't even think Joel has a bad team necessarily, but got to be feeling nervous about Malik Neighbors.
86:18Got to get Jalen Coker back healthy. Bucky Irving may be dealing with an injury, so we'll see how it goes for Joel.
86:26But meanwhile, Hayden gets a win here to put him at 2-1.
86:29Yeah, I'm looking at Joel's team, and there's just – I mean, it's kind of like that Gibbs that he really just
86:36needs that because Neighbors, Coker's banged up. Bateman is back to wide receiver two status there.
86:41He got the best game of the season from Harold Fannin Jr.
86:45I mean, Aubrey and the Texan defense hold them up, and then you look over there at Hayden.
86:50He's got two hammer receivers we talked about on the show.
86:54Now A-chan is out, so we'll see what he's going to do there.
86:58But McLaurin on the bench. He's got Keaton Mitchell down there, and, you know, we'll see.
87:03We'll see. This is a fun league. This is a fun league.
87:06But I'm looking at Joel's team, and, ah, man.
87:09And this was the prohibited favorite. Harmon, people were like, oh, he's running.
87:13He's about to run through y'all this year, and he's 0-3, man.
87:170-3. Yeah, the Joel fanboys thought Daddy Smith was going to run through this league.
87:21Not happening so far. But you know what? He plays me this week, so don't worry.
87:26Joel's going to have a bounce back, and I'm talking way too much trash, okay, with the 3-0 start.
87:320-3 for Joel. I guarantee you, best game of the season coming for Joel here.
87:37Like, all these guys are going to go absolutely crazy against me.
87:40There's no question about that. By the way, 0-3 start.
87:43Odds to make the playoffs for our guy Joel Smith and Dan Titus.
87:47It's not over, but you only have a 10.5% chance of making the fantasy playoffs according to our internal data here at Yahoo Fantasy, our historical data.
87:56If you start 3-0, 74.1% chance. So a lot of pressure on me, Ray, to not blow this thing.
88:0274%. That makes me feel nervous. You better make it.
88:05I better make it, bro, because this will be humiliating if I don't.
88:09But this has been a really fun league so far, as I mentioned.
88:13I'm taking on Joel this week. If I send him 0-4, it's definitely over-over for Joel.
88:18But if he beats me, then I probably am going to have to come on this.
88:23I might have to wear the bag over my head if I lose this week on the show.
88:28We never know. Meanwhile, you've got to go against Scott.
88:31Can you give Scott Pinowski his first loss of the season, Ray?
88:35That would really help me out personally. I'm going to try my best.
88:39I'm going to try my best. The Jake Ferguson thing, Dallas plays Houston this week, so I don't know.
88:45I'm going to try. Scott's got a damn good team.
88:48He's got a damn good team. Yeah, I'm going to need you to lock in.
88:52I'm going to need you to lock in and try really hard, okay?
88:57So there's that. By the way, the other 3-0 team, Max, I would argue, and I'm being told to say this on
89:03the outline, so no hurt feelings here. Apparently, Josh was the one who talked the most trash.
89:09A lot of the most number one snide remarks came from Josh Norris on Max's draft strategy on the Draft Live show.
89:15Well, he's got a chance for revenge this week because Josh, who has all those problems on his roster, is taking on Max this week.
89:23So we've got a lot of interesting matchups in the Yahoo Fantasy Expert League.
89:27I mean, it's a league of experts, okay? And I'm 3-0.
89:31So, you know, it's a league of experts, esteemed gentlemen, at the top of their field, the best minds that you could possibly find.
89:38Get us out of here. Right? Yeah, you're right.
89:41Get us out of here. Somebody pull the plug.
89:44Pull the plug on the show. That's enough already.
89:46Okay. Every single week here on the Data Dump Show, and you're reading and following all of Ray's works as well.
89:53At Ray Garvin is where you're going to get that.
89:56That does it for today's show. Tomorrow, we've got a big one coming your way.
90:01Nate Tice will be joining, as usual, on Wednesday.
90:03And a little drum roll here. We can now reveal that Justin Boone is going to be on the show weekly on Wednesdays starting tomorrow and going forward.
90:12Yes, two times a week. Boone, back on the show.
90:15You absolutely love to see it. That's going to be an electric show.
90:19You're not going to want to miss it. 4 p.m.
90:22Eastern right here on this YouTube channel. Subscribe. We will see you all tomorrow.
90:26Until then, we are out.
