Pitts finished as tight end 7 in adjusted points per game last season, but this ranking is heavily inflated by one 40-point game in week 14; excluding that outlier, he was 21st in points per game through week 13. In the 12 games Drake London played, Pitts averaged 6.7 half PPR points per game—low-end tight end 2 to high-end tight end 3 production. In the five games London missed, Pitts scored 10.4, 3.5, 11.7, 12, 40.1, and 15.2 half PPR points, with only three weeks across all 17 exceeding 12 half PPR points (two of those with London out). The source warns against overinvesting in the narrative that one good game will cause a role shift, noting that the team says this every season but rarely follows through. A pretty big role shift is needed for Pitts to justify his tight end 7 draft position, and without a confirmed role increase in camp, he's likely a fade.
