Douglas spent 92% of his routes in the slot against Chicago. For the season, he has been in the slot on 84% of his routes and in motion at the snap on 22%—the sixth-highest motion rate among qualified receivers. His playing time is tied to personnel—he has run routes on 93% of New England's three-WR dropbacks and just 16% in two-tight-end sets. Receiver Score says leave him on the wire because if only he were getting full-time WR reps.

Buy-low target with consistent targets and reliable role in Patriots offense despite attention on bigger names like A.J. Brown. Many fantasy managers still view him as depth piece, keeping trade value surprisingly affordable. Source willing to move WR3, RB3, or pair of depth/bench players in redraft; in dynasty willing to offer 2027 third-round pick or package depth players. If target volume continues upward trend, this may be last chance to acquire at discount.

DeMario Douglas was quiet against the Bears in Week 7, with 3-23-0 on four targets on a night when Patriots QB Drake Maye threw for 321 yards. A.J. Brown has returned from his ankle injury and is the clear No. 1 receiver for New England, even though he hasn't played well in his first two games back. Douglas played 65% of the Patriots' offensive snaps in Week 7. Beyond Brown, the Patriots get inconsistent contributions from an ensemble cast of pass catchers. It's hard to see Douglas providing long-term value, but he could be a useful pinch hitter this week in deeper leagues courtesy of a matchup with the Dolphins, who have one of the worst secondaries in the league.

Douglas has been on a heater over the past two weeks, finishing as the WR7 and WR10 with explosives galore; his speed as a vertical slot works well with Drake Maye. Last week, routes were AJ Brown (34/35), Douglas (26), vertical X Kyle Williams (21), and dirty-work Efton Chism III (10); they won't have Romeo Doubs (IR) or Mack Hollins (IR), so Douglas should be a top-four player in targets on Thursday Night Football. He's the WR29 on WR44 usage over the past month with 11.2 expected half PPR points (WR24) as a season-high last week. The Bears have been weakest defending deep passes, allowing the third-most fantasy points to WRs on throws over 15 air yards, so Douglas can work the deep field as a change-up.

Douglas is positioned for a strong Week 7 performance against the Bears on Thursday Night Football. He leads the Patriots in targets (30) and receptions (20) with 233 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns through six weeks. His Week 6 outing against the Jets—seven catches for 86 yards and a touchdown—was his best of the season. With Romeo Doubs out on injured reserve for at least four games and A.J. Brown struggling with drops (3 catches on 10 targets for 27 yards in Week 6), Douglas is positioned as the primary receiving option. His 82.7% slot percentage is the highest of his career, and Bears cornerback Malik Muhammad—the Chicago defender with the most snaps in slot coverage—has graded as one of the team's worst players in coverage with 15 catches allowed for 249 yards, per PFF.

Demario Douglas has been solid the last couple of weeks and presents an interesting flex option in Week 7 against Chicago, with a receiving yards line of 38.5 yards. However, the Patriots offense exhibits extreme target volatility among secondary receivers—this week it's Douglas, last week it was Hunter Henry, next week Kyle Williams, then Effton Chisum, then Eli Riden. With Romeo Dobbs and Matt Collins out, target share should be more condensed, but Douglas carries a very low floor due to the unpredictable distribution pattern. Ranked as 'Shaky Flex' for Week 7.

Last week, DeMario Douglas had a 58.8% snap rate, 74.3% route share, 25% target share, 86 receiving yards (3.31 YPRR), and 19% first-read share. It was the third time this season Douglas has had route share north of 70%, but he also has two games where his route share dipped below 60%. Derek Brown expresses skepticism that his usage will hold in Week 7 given the volatility. Overall, Douglas has a 65.2% route share, 14.8% target share, 1.62 YPRR, three red zone targets, eight deep targets, and 16.9% first-read share. Chicago has the ninth-highest single-high rate (56.1%). Against single-high, Douglas has 23% TPRR but his YPRR has fallen from 1.85 to 1.40. Chicago has allowed 14th-fewest yards per target and 15th-fewest fantasy points per opportunity to slot receivers—essentially a neutral matchup.

It was the third time this season that Douglas has had a route share north of 70%, but he also has two games where his route share dipped below 60%. His usage has been up and down over the last two seasons, which makes the source skeptical that it will hold in Week 7. Overall, Douglas has a 65.2% route share, 14.8% target share, 1.62 YPRR, three red zone targets, eight deep targets, and 16.9% first-read share. Chicago has the ninth-highest rate of single-high (56.1%). Against single-high, Douglas has 23% TPRR, but his YPRR has fallen from 1.85 to 1.40. Douglas is flex-viable this week, but there's a ton of volatility with his projection. Chicago has allowed the 14th-fewest yards per target and 15th-fewest fantasy points per opportunity to slot receivers, making it essentially a neutral matchup.

Posted 4-65-2 and 7-86-1 receiving lines the last two weeks. The latter performance even included a rock solid 74 percent route rate! Maybe things change now that the Patriots have had time to re-arrange things with Romeo Doubs (shoulder, IR) out of the picture, but at this point fine riding the wave and embracing Super DeMario's booms — at least to this WR3-level extent. After all, the only wide receivers with more PPR points during the last two weeks are Malik Nabers, Puka Nacua, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Matthew Golden! That's it!
