Ja'Marr Chase expressed approval of Joe Burrow's more aggressive demeanor and fire, saying he likes it when Burrow is pissed and brings that intensity. Chase noted Burrow's face, the way he talks, and his overall presence are more aggressive with a mean mug. This reflects Chase's role in keeping Burrow focused and the team's commitment to winning.
The source reports Burrow has shifted from letting others be vocal leaders to taking the reins and trying to will the team to win. His demeanor is more aggressive—his face, the way he talks, and his overall presence are more aggressive with a mean mug. Ja'Marr Chase noted Burrow's fire and intensity, saying he likes it when Burrow is pissed and brings that aggressive energy. The source attributes this shift to Burrow being sick of losing and his effort to keep Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase on the roster.
QB Joe Burrow praised Chase Brown's development, saying "He's taken a leap every single year and that's been exciting to watch. I can't say enough good things about him." The source notes Brown averaged 104.7 combined rushing/receiving yards over the final 11 games last year and could prove to be the missing piece this high-powered offense needs to get over the hump, as he tends to fly under the radar.
Ja'Marr Chase commented on Joe Burrow's demeanor and aggression in training camp, saying "I like it when he's [expletive] pissed. I'm not gonna lie. I like the fire that he is." Chase noted Burrow's demeanor is more aggressive overall—his face, the way he talks, and his attitude—and that Burrow has shown this fire only once or twice since camp started. The source frames this as evidence that Burrow is taking the reins as a vocal leader and trying to will the team to win, having thrown his weight around to keep both Chase and Tee Higgins on the roster.

Veteran running back Aaron Jones is serving as a mentor to rookie Demond Claiborne in Minnesota's backfield. Jones expressed his desire to help Claiborne succeed and develop his career, indicating a veteran presence in a backfield that also includes Jordan Mason, Zavier Scott, and Jordan Mims.
Sixth-round rookie Demond Claiborne has earned strong endorsement from veteran Aaron Jones, who called him a "special back" and praised his ability to get in and out of cuts. Jones mentors Claiborne and believes he will play in the league "as long as he wants to." Claiborne ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash at the Combine despite falling to pick No. 198, suggesting potential undervaluation. The Vikings' new wide-zone rushing attack under assistant head coach Frank Smith could create opportunity for Claiborne in a backfield also featuring Jordan Mason, Zavier Scott, and Jordan Mims.

Undesirable wide receiver option by pick 100; source explicitly states they would never want to put this player into their starting lineup, marking him as a cutoff threshold example of receivers to avoid in the draft.
Source's preferred round-eight quarterback pick; source states 'I'm going to take Dak Prescott as our first quarterback with this team' and notes 'our draft sheets have Dak as the better pick' even though another option had higher ADP on Yahoo, demonstrating value relative to consensus rankings.
Source's preferred round-six wide receiver pick; source states 'Our next highest ranked player according to these draft sheets will be Mike Evans. Let's go ahead and let's take him here' and notes this completes the requirement of three wide receivers by round eight in the running back-heavy draft strategy.
Source's preferred round-five running back pick according to expert average rankings on Flock Fantasy. Source states 'Looking at the expert average rankings on the site, we do have Trevon Henderson as the highest' and takes him with the expectation of securing a wide receiver on the way back, fitting the running back-heavy draft strategy.
Listed as a round-four running back option on Flock Fantasy's custom rankings; source states 'using my rankings, I think we should either be going with Travis CTN or Tedoro McMillan in the fourth round' but prefers Teddy McMillan to differentiate from a running back-heavy approach after taking Jeanty and Hampton in rounds one and two.
Source considers Javonte Williams as a round-three option only if Justin Jefferson was taken in round one instead of Ashton Jeanty; source states 'If I would have maybe taken Justin Jefferson in the first round instead of Ashton Genty, I think I'd maybe consider drafting Javvante Williams here' but prefers Tee Higgins given the running back-heavy start with Jeanty and Hampton in rounds one and two.
Flock Fantasy pushes Ashton Jeanty up in draft priority for custom draft sheets in 12-team PPR leagues with two receivers and one flex, indicating better value than traditional wide-receiver anchors like CD Lamb or Justin Jefferson in this specific league format. The source explicitly states 'for the custom draft sheets for these league settings, I am actually pushing Ashton Genty up here to be our pick,' demonstrating a format-specific preference for Jeanty's value over James Cook, Justin Jefferson, and Saquon Barkley in round one.
Presented as a potential round-one anchor wide receiver option in 12-team PPR leagues with two receiver and one flex starting spots, but Flock Fantasy's custom draft sheets deprioritize Jefferson in favor of Ashton Jeanty in this shallow-receiver format. Listed as a standard Yahoo draft recommendation but the source prefers running back anchors instead.
CeeDee Lamb was presented as an anchor wide receiver option in round one for 12-team PPR leagues with two receiver and one flex starting spots. However, the source preferred running back anchors in this format instead, pushing Ashton Jeanty up as the preferred round-one pick.
Jaylen Warren was available in round nine despite strong team construction. The source secured him as the fourth running back, emphasizing that ESPN rankings and ADP are 'so bad' that Warren could be obtained at favorable value in this league format, indicating significant undervaluation relative to production.
The source selected Caleb Williams at quarterback in round eight, citing the league's single-flex format (two receivers, one flex) which reduces the need for early skill-position depth. The source built a team around the Bears stack with Williams, Colston Loveland, and DeAndre Swift, describing it as 'a really strong team' and demonstrating confidence in Williams' value at that draft position.
Flock Fantasy's draft assistant projected Jordan Tyson at 97% chance of being drafted by round eight. The source selected Tyson in round seven over Brian Thomas (94% draft probability) specifically to secure rookie upside, indicating preference for Tyson's developmental potential in this draft context.
Flock Fantasy's draft sheets identified DeAndre Swift as the best pick available in round six. The source selected Swift as their third running back, noting that the league's two-receiver single-flex format provided flexibility to prioritize running back depth since only one more wide receiver was needed by round eight. The source expressed satisfaction with the team after adding Swift, stating 'I love this team.'
Sam Leaporta went off the board after Colston Loveland was drafted in round five, alongside Kyle Pitts and Harold Fann, indicating he was selected in the rounds immediately following.
Kyle Pitts went off the board after Colston Loveland was drafted in round five, alongside Harold Fann and Sam Leaporta, indicating he was selected in the rounds immediately following.
The source drafts Colston Loveland in round five as an elite tight end in a single-flex league format. The source notes that rankings are split between Jameson Williams and Loveland, but because the league is single-flex (not double-flex), taking the elite tight end is the correct strategy. This allows the team to get away with taking an elite TE early. The source includes Loveland as the tight end in a Bears stack with Caleb Williams and DeAndre Swift, describing the resulting team as 'really strong,' demonstrating confidence in his role and production relative to typical tight-end draft timing.
The source identifies Tee Higgins as the highest-ranked player on their rankings at the point of the fourth-round pick. The source explicitly chooses Higgins over ESPN's autodraft suggestion of Jameson Williams and over Quentin Johnston, positioning Higgins as the best value available in PPR format. The source also states 'I would rather just take T. Higgins with our third pick' as a preferred round-three option in the mock draft.
The source explicitly advises against taking Jameson Williams in the fourth round, saying 'don't listen to them' when ESPN's autodraft suggests him. The source prefers Tee Higgins as the better value at that draft position. Jameson Williams is also listed as a round-five wide receiver option on the source's custom draft sheets but is deprioritized in favor of running back selections.
Breece Hall is cited as a running back two being drafted too early, ahead of elite wide receivers like AJ Brown. The source criticizes Hall as being overdrafted relative to her value, noting that running back twos are being pushed up in ADP ranges where they don't belong this year. Hall was selected over AJ Brown in the mock draft scenario, which the source frames as a mistake by the teams ahead.
The source's rankings have AJ Brown as the highest-ranked player available in the middle of the third round, ahead of running back two options like Breece Hall and Javante Williams that were being overdrafted earlier. The source explicitly states this is the best-case scenario for a team that started with two RBs, allowing them to secure the best value on the board; ESPN also agrees with AJ Brown as their highest-ranked player at that point. AJ Brown is passed over in favor of running back twos, indicating the source views him as undervalued relative to his draft position.
Javvante Williams is cited as an example of a running back being drafted too early (ahead of elite wide receivers like AJ Brown), indicating the source views him as overvalued relative to his position.
Javante Williams is framed as an overdrafted running back two, selected ahead of AJ Brown in the mock draft. The source criticizes teams for taking him, saying they 'absolutely sold' by prioritizing RB2s in ranges where they don't belong relative to elite wide receivers; running back twos are being pushed up in ADP ranges where they don't belong this year.
Garrett Wilson is cited as an example of a wide receiver being drafted too early in the mock draft. The source notes that teams 'absolutely sold' by taking him ahead of elite options like AJ Brown, indicating overvaluation at his draft position in the middle rounds.
ESPN's ADP suggests Drake London, but Flock Fantasy's draft sheets rank Chase Brown higher, indicating the source does not prefer Drake London at that draft position.
In single-flex format leagues, Flock Fantasy prefers Christian McCaffrey over Amon-Ra St. Brown because the strategy requires at least one running back in the first two rounds and only three wide receivers by round eight. McCaffrey is drafted as the first running back in the source's optimal draft strategy, establishing him as the anchor alongside Chase Brown and AJ Brown. The source lists McCaffrey as the lead running back in the constructed roster, indicating confidence in his role and production as a first-round anchor.
Flock Fantasy's draft sheets rank Kyler Murray higher than Sleeper ADP's consensus (Malik Willis) for the second quarterback. The source selects Murray in the 10-11 round range to pair with Jordan Love for matchup-based play.
Jordan Love is identified as the top available quarterback according to both Sleeper ADP and the source's draft sheets, and is selected in the 10-11 round as the primary quarterback in the mock draft.
WR taken at 8.11 per the source's draft sheets, preferred over Sleeper ADP consensus (Trevor Lawrence, Ronda Gatson, Dalton Kay, George Kittle). The source states 'However, if you're listening to our draft sheets, we do have that as Quinton Johnston. So, we'll take Johnston here at the end of the eighth.' This pick satisfies the four-WR requirement by round 8. The source's draft sheets rank Quinton Johnston higher than Sleeper ADP options, and the source takes him in the eighth round as a preferred wide receiver pick.
RB taken at 7.11 as a 'massive value' pick. The source notes the team already has sufficient RB depth (Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker, Derrick Henry) but takes Price anyway because 'my league mates are very open to making trades. So, if I did get the opportunity to take a massive value here like Jadarian Price in the seventh round, I am going to go ahead and do just that. I would take Price.' This demonstrates flexibility based on league tendencies and trade likelihood.
WR taken at 6.11 per the source's draft sheets, preferred over Sleeper ADP's top picks (Harold Fannon and Tucker Kraft). The source states 'But if you are using our draft sheets, you'll see that we have Brian Thomas. We are going to take Thomas at the 611,' positioning him as a better value than consensus Sleeper ADP. The source's draft assistant projects Brian Thomas has a 94% chance of being drafted by round eight, making him a high-probability target; the source considers him as a fallback option if Jordan Tyson is selected earlier. The source's draft assistant recommends taking Brian Thomas in round seven, indicating he is the recommended pick at that draft position. Brian Thomas is featured as a flex starter in the mock draft's final lineup.
Top-2 RB target (referred to as 'Bejon' in the source) for early-pick advantage. The source states 'if I have an early pick and I get the opportunity, I'm going to be taking one of Gibbs or Bejon for us to go ahead and build around.' Positioned as an anchor RB to build a championship roster around.
Top-2 RB target for early-pick advantage. The source states 'if I have an early pick and I get the opportunity, I'm going to be taking one of Gibbs or Bejon for us to go ahead and build around.' Gibbs is positioned as an anchor RB to build a championship roster around, and having a top-two pick makes implementing the draft strategy 'incredibly easy.'
Elite TE whose early-round capital conflicts with elite QB selection. The source explicitly advises against pairing Mark Andrews with Josh Allen in the same draft unless playing in an eight-team format, stating 'you are only allowed to take one quarterback or one tight end inside the first six rounds, but don't go and take Bowowers and Josh Allen on the same team unless you're playing in something crazy like an eight team format.' Only one elite QB or TE should be taken inside the first six rounds. Andrews is identified as the second-highest ranked available player on the source's draft sheets in round 4, but the source notes 'If your league mates know what they are doing, there's no way in hell you are getting these guys as your first five picks. This is the absolute dream spot.'
Trey McBride is positioned as an elite tight end option by Flock Fantasy. The source indicates willingness to draft McBride in the third round in some drafts, positioning him as a premium tight end target when value aligns.
Josh Allen is an elite QB whose early-round draft capital is difficult to justify when paired with an elite TE. Flock Fantasy advises that if you take an elite TE like Brock Bowers in round 2, you likely cannot afford Josh Allen in round 3 because you need to fill out RB and WR rooms. The source explicitly states 'you are only allowed to take one quarterback or one tight end inside the first six rounds, but don't go and take Bowers and Josh Allen on the same team unless you're playing in something crazy like an eight team format.' This creates a conflict between elite QB and elite TE selection in early rounds.
Brock Bowers is positioned as an elite tight end option by Flock Fantasy. The source indicates willingness to draft Bowers in the second round in some drafts, positioning him as a premium tight end target when value aligns. The source also considers Bowers as a potential pick in a single-flex league format, suggesting he could be an elite tight end option worth considering in that context.
Jordan Addison is identified by Flock Fantasy as the cutoff threshold at wide receiver 44; the source states 'I think Jordan Addison at about wide receiver 44 is the last time that I would feel comfortable really taking a receiver to start week one,' marking the boundary between acceptable and undesirable WR options for week-one starts.
Saquon Barkley is included in Flock Fantasy's top 12 running backs willing to draft in the first two rounds to build around as an anchor RB. The source's strategy prioritizes securing one or two elite RBs early to avoid overdrafting RB2s and RB3s that are significantly more expensive than in previous years. While Barkley would be taken on Yahoo rankings in round one, the source prefers Ashton Genty instead in 12-team PPR leagues with two receiver and one flex starting spots.
Kenneth Walker is ranked as the best available player at the 2-3 turn on Flock Fantasy's draft sheets. The source takes him to build a double-anchor RB start, noting 'Walker is not going to make it to you here at the 2-3 turn very often, but we are going to go ahead and take him and we're going to be able to build around a double anchor RB start.' Walker is also included in the source's top 12 running backs willing to draft in the first two rounds to build around as an anchor RB, and goes off the board in round one in standard draft formats.
Cook is listed as a top-12 running back to target in the first two rounds to build around as an anchor RB; the source's strategy prioritizes securing one or two elite RBs early to avoid overdrafting RB2s and RB3s that are significantly more expensive than in previous years. Cook is included in Flock Fantasy's preferred anchor RB targets for early rounds, though in custom league settings with shallow receiver slots, the source prefers Ashton Genty over Cook at the end of round one.
Achan is listed as a top-12 running back to target in the first two rounds to build around as an anchor RB; the source's strategy prioritizes securing one or two elite RBs early to avoid overdrafting RB2s and RB3s that are significantly more expensive than in previous years. Achan is included in Flock Fantasy's preferred anchor RB targets for early rounds, though on custom draft sheets rankings are split between creators on whether to prioritize Achan or Amari Hampton.
Derrick Henry is included in Flock Fantasy's top 12 running backs willing to draft in the first two rounds to build around as an anchor RB. The source takes Henry at 3.02 in the mock draft as part of a rare three-RB start scenario, noting 'this is a very rare occurrence and you're not going to be able to do this super often, right?' Taking three RBs early (Gibbs/Jacobs, Kenneth Walker, Derrick Henry) locks the team into needing four WRs by round 8. Henry is featured as a starting running back in the mock draft's final lineup.
Chase Brown is ranked as the highest-ranked running back on Flock Fantasy's draft sheets and by almost all analysts on flockfantasy.com. The source drafts him in the second round as part of an optimal anchor-RB strategy, pairing him with Christian McCaffrey and AJ Brown to form a strong foundation. Brown is included in the source's top 12 RBs willing to draft in the first two rounds to build around as a foundational piece, and is positioned as a quality second running back in the source's preferred draft approach.
Robinson is listed as a top-12 running back to target in the first two rounds to build around as an anchor RB. The source's strategy prioritizes securing one or two elite RBs early to avoid overdrafting RB2s and RB3s that are significantly more expensive than in previous years. Robinson is included in Flock Fantasy's preferred anchor RB targets for early rounds.
Taylor is identified as a top-12 running back to target in the first two rounds as part of an anchor RB strategy. The source emphasizes that winning in 2025 required drafting Taylor early, citing strong health and top-10 finish rate of highly drafted RBs. He is included in Flock Fantasy's list of RBs willing to draft inside the first two rounds to build around as a foundational piece of the roster.
McAffrey is identified as a top-12 running back to target in the first two rounds as part of an anchor RB strategy. Mendoza, the No. 1 overall draft pick for the Las Vegas Raiders, is identified by Tice as a stabilizing force for the franchise alongside new head coach Klint Kubiak and Kirk Cousins. Tice noted: 'My X factor is just normalcy. Kubiak is a pro, Mendoza is a pro, [Kirk] Cousins is a pro. They've really got guys in their head positions now.' Mendoza's professionalism is positioned as foundational for the Raiders' direction after a disastrous 2025 season, though a complete turnaround is viewed as a 2027 proposition.
Winks emphasized the significance of Kenneth Walker III's signing to the Kansas City Chiefs, stating: 'I really don't think you can overstate how much the [Kenneth] Walker signing is going to be. I think they're going to be maybe a little more under center. I would draft him in the first round in fantasy.' Tice added that Walker is essential because 'They need someone outside Mahomes that can create something — that's why you bring in Walker.' Walker is positioned as a first-round fantasy draft target due to his role as a complementary playmaker to Mahomes.
Tice and Winks expressed concern about Patrick Mahomes coming off a torn ACL as a key risk factor for the Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 season. The hosts project the Chiefs at 9 wins (Winks) and 9 wins (Tice), citing Mahomes' injury recovery and lack of depth in pass-catching options as limiting factors.
Hampton is identified as a key addition to the Los Angeles Chargers' offense alongside new coordinator Mike McDaniel; his arrival is part of a package of moves (including Tyler Biadasz and the McDaniel scheme) designed to stabilize the offensive line and improve the Chargers' offensive efficiency.
Herbert's rare arm talent is positioned to benefit from new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel's arrival and integration of run concepts; Tice and Winks see a potential leap for the Chargers offense if the team stays healthy. The scheme should help stabilize the offensive line and unlock Herbert's playmaking ability.
Tice projects meaningful offensive upside if Bo Nix improves even modestly: 'If Bo Nix gets even just half a tier better, wow, this offense could be really good.' This projection is contingent on Nix's development alongside new weapons like Jaylen Waddle and Jonah Coleman in Sean Payton's system.
Tice identified Coleman as a potential impact rookie for the Denver Broncos, comparing him to Mark Ingram's role in Sean Payton's system: 'Jonah Coleman might be a really good fit in this offense. Being the guy that's the Mark Ingram for Sean Payton in this offense because he likes to have those running back kind of splits.' Coleman's fit in the Payton scheme could unlock offensive upside if Bo Nix improves.

Pickens signed the franchise tag for a fully guaranteed $27.3 million for the 2025 season after the Cowboys declined to pursue a long-term deal in the offseason. He is focused on winning a Super Bowl and demonstrating his value for a future lucrative contract.
Pickens' behavioral concerns from his Steelers tenure have not materialized in Dallas; he has been comfortable and secure in the Cowboys environment, attributing his improved conduct to the coaching staff and people around him who are 'more lighthearted' and 'ask questions first' rather than imposing narratives. He attended mandatory minicamp despite franchise tag concerns and is currently having a strong training camp.
Pickens set career highs in 2025 with 93 receptions, 1,429 yards, and 9 touchdowns in his first season with the Cowboys after being traded from Pittsburgh for a third-round pick in 2026 and fifth-round pick in 2027.

Goff remains the Lions' starting quarterback with Josh Dobbs now signed as his backup following Teddy Bridgewater's unexpected departure from the team.
Bridgewater unexpectedly stepped away from football after being expected to serve as the Lions' backup quarterback behind Jared Goff. This is his second departure from the NFL; he previously walked away after the 2023 season to coach high school football at Miami Northwestern before returning for the 2024 season. At 33 years old, his latest departure could be permanent, ending an 11-season NFL career with 15,182 passing yards, 75 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions across seven teams.

Liam and Davis Mattek are both high on Parker Washington, with Liam noting he has been the only person arguing in favor of him for months and that he is his highest-drafted player.
Davis Mattek is not drafting much Tyler Warren because he does not view him as functionally different from Harold Fannin, preferring that tier of tight ends.

The source is heavily invested in Stefan Diggs, holding 286 teams with an average cost in the 130s. The source believes Diggs is a strong value as a Commander and notes that even in full PPR, his target volume (projected at 112) will make him a productive asset regardless of format.
The source expresses confusion over why DJ Moore is being faded in drafts, noting his consistent ability to make plays during scramble drills, which should translate well to Caleb Williams' playstyle.
Downs didn’t play a ton of man in college. I was curious to see if he could do it in the pros. If it’s something he can do even at an average level, it just opens more schematically for the Cowboys. [Quoted](
Pierce's 2025 production—47 catches and 1,003 receiving yards, both career highs in his fourth season—justified the Colts' decision to extend him with a four-year, $114 million deal. He led the NFL in yards per catch in both 2024 (22.3) and 2025 (21.3), establishing himself as one of the league's preeminent downfield receiving threats. Career stats: 296 targets, 157 receptions, 2,934 receiving yards, 18.7 yards per catch, 17 receiving touchdowns.
Pierce has not practiced since signing his four-year, $114 million extension in the offseason after undergoing left ankle surgery in March to address a lingering 2024 injury. He was placed on the PUP list before training camp; general manager Chris Ballard said on July 28 he was 'a week or two' away from returning to practice, but as of Aug. 9 he remained sidelined. Head coach Shane Steichen said on Aug. 6 he had no updated timeline on Pierce's practice return, though his rehab was 'going great.' Wide receivers coach Reggie Wayne emphasized the team will not rush Pierce back and wants him at 100% health regardless of timeline.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced they do not plan to play Jared Goff in the upcoming preseason debut on Thursday against Cincinnati, keeping the starting quarterback rested during the preseason.
Undrafted rookie quarterback Luke Altmyer, 23, has been accumulating significant reps over the past three practices with Bridgewater out, and the Lions have been impressed with his progress. Coach Dan Campbell stated: 'We like Luke, Luke is growing, Luke is getting better, he just needs reps...he needs a million reps. But the reps that he has gotten to this point, he has improved.' Altmyer is expected to take a heavy load in the Lions' preseason debut on Thursday against Cincinnati, though he will share snaps with newly signed Josh Dobbs.

Jalen Hurts will continue to benefit from the Tush Push under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion in 2026. The Eagles converted the play 96.6% of the time in fourth-and-1 scenarios, giving Hurts and the offense a near-guaranteed conversion option in short-yardage situations. Mannion stated the play 'has been an extremely effective play here' and the organization 'has executed at a high level,' confirming it will remain 'a part of what we do' despite the Eagles' offensive overhaul.

Deepak Chona clarifies that the severity of Luther Burden's camp injury is currently unknown, despite initial concerns.
Deepak Chona advises fading Alec Pierce, noting that the mystery surrounding his current status is negative. Chona suggests that every day without positive news should lower his ADP and draft willingness.
Deepak Chona classifies Mike Evans as a high-risk player due to his age (over 30) and a history of soft tissue strains. Chona suggests treating him like a 'glass doll' leading up to the season to avoid re-aggravation.
Deepak Chona is out on George Kittle due to his recovery from an Achilles rupture. Chona notes that historically, players see a significant dip in strength in the first year back, and Kittle's reliance on creating separation makes him a high-risk asset.
Matt Kelley expresses excitement about drafting Saquon Barkley in the sixth round of a superflex tight end premium format, considering it a significant value that fell further than expected.
Matt Kelley highlights Patrick Mahomes as a high-value pick at the 4.10 in a tight end premium superflex format. While Mahomes is returning from injury, Kelley advises tempering expectations for rushing specifically, but expects the passing production to remain elite.
Jalen McMillan is dealing with a reported knee injury. Deepak Chona notes that while the information is limited, his prior injury history does not suggest he is inherently injury-prone, as previous issues were not knee-related.
Josh Jacobs is dealing with a reported groin strain. Deepak Chona suggests this may be a minor veteran issue, but emphasizes the need to monitor if it lingers into the preseason to ensure he bounces back strongly.
Deepak Chona identifies CeeDee Lamb as undervalued due to a severe high ankle sprain in Week 3 that caused a two-month performance dip. Excluding that recovery window, Lamb was on pace for 1,400 yards, suggesting he remains a high-upside asset worth targeting at a discount.
Matt Kelley prefers Tyler Warren over Judkins in keeper formats, noting that Warren's previous season stats were under-representative of his true talent. Warren was the TE4 before Daniel Jones' injury, and Kelley expects his role to shift toward the mid-range passing game with altered mechanics.
Matt Kelley prefers Tyler Warren over other options in keeper leagues, noting he was a top-four tight end before Daniel Jones's injury. He believes Warren's previous production was under-representative of his true talent.
Deepak Chona believes Luther Burden's camp injury is minor, describing it as "bruisey" and "maintenancey" rather than serious.
Deepak Chona notes that Zach Charbonnet's late February surgery makes a return to form unlikely until December. He warns against reports suggesting a Week 1 return, stating the data does not support such a rapid recovery for a non-outlier athlete.
Matt Kelley likes LaQuint Allen as a deep-league sleeper in Jacksonville. He expects Allen to serve as a satellite back with potential for expansion if other backs miss time, offering high value at a low cost.
Deepak Chona is hesitant to draft Chris Rodriguez due to his ongoing foot injury and limited practice participation. He believes Rodriguez's upside is limited, even in best ball formats.
Deepak Chona is concerned about Makai Lemon's re-aggravated hamstring injury, noting that rookies who miss significant camp time tend to start slower. He suggests Lemon may have a "Ricky Pearsall-style" rookie year where he only flashes late in the season.
Deepak Chona is not concerned about DeVonta Smith's mild hamstring issue, characterizing it as veteran maintenance. He does not expect it to impact Smith's in-season availability.
Deepak Chona feels good about Rashee Rice this year despite a loose body removal in his knee. While cartilage damage can predict a shorter prime, Rice's youth mitigates immediate concerns, and no limitations are expected for the upcoming season.
Deepak Chona expresses hesitation regarding Tank Dell, noting that his injury is of a magnitude that historically suggests a multi-year recovery and a potentially shortened prime. He recommends passing on Dell in redraft leagues this year.
Deepak Chona expects Malik Nabers's ADP to rise as he nears a return, though he cautions that wide receivers of his caliber typically require a four-week ramp-up period. Chona is comfortable drafting him in the third round but is hesitant if his ADP climbs into the mid-second round due to offensive and health risks.
Matt Kelley and Deepak Chona are fading Alec Pierce, suggesting fantasy managers should "absolutely forget about" him. The consensus is to prioritize Josh Downs and Tyler Warren in the Colts' offense instead.
Deepak Chona notes Xavier Worthy is managing an AC joint injury in his operative shoulder. While it is distinct from his previous labrum repair, it represents in-season risk. Despite his small frame, Chona believes Worthy could be quite good in his role.
Deepak Chona warns that Daniel Jones's recovery from an Achilles injury likely compromises his strength and mobility, limiting his ability to scramble. He expects Jones to focus on short-to-intermediate passing, which benefits teammates like Josh Downs and Tyler Warren.
Matt Kelley identifies Josh Downs as one of the most underrated assets in fantasy football. He projects a solid floor for dynasty and best ball, with spike weeks driven by his elite yards-after-catch ability. Despite a minor groin injury, he is practicing fully with no expected limitations.
Deepak Chona notes that the vast majority of cases like Pearsall's do not require surgery, and he expects Brock Bowers to reach full health eventually after his nine relatively healthy games.
Matt Kelley identifies Josh Downs as one of the most underrated assets in fantasy football, noting his floor in best ball and his youth (24) as key factors for dynasty value.
Deepak Chona discusses the PCL injury context, noting that while Ricky Pearsall's case was more severe due to re-aggravation, Bowers' injury recovery is progressing toward health.
Deepak Chona notes that while LaPorta's spinal disc surgery carries long-term re-injury risks, he is expected to have a big bounce-back season. Matt Kelley views him as a steady, high-floor option who is less risky than Tucker Kraft and offers more upside due to his offense.
Deepak Chona attributes Barkley's 2024 efficiency dip to a decimated offensive line rather than physical decline. With a healthier line and his proven ability to maintain efficiency even with high volume, Barkley is expected to have a better season in 2025.
Matt Kelley and Deepak Chona highlight Egbuka's potential for a strong start, noting his WR3 performance in the first six weeks last year before a hamstring injury and Baker Mayfield's injuries hampered his production. With Mike Evans gone, Egbuka is viewed as a smash hit.
Matt Kelley projects a peak season for Brown, citing his strong finish to last year (WR11 from weeks 12-17). Deepak Chona notes that while Brown has a history of knee cleanup surgeries suggesting a shorter prime, his recent thumb dislocation is minor and shouldn't impact the season.
Deepak Chona clarifies that Odunze's foot fracture should heal to full strength, and initial comments about it feeling 'different' were likely just the new normal of calluses. Matt Kelley is buying Odunze, believing his value was depressed by misleading offseason comments.
Deepak Chona notes that while only about 50% of players return to pre-injury levels after this specific surgery, the odds improve with young age, high draft capital, and high pre-injury athleticism. Matt Kelley is buying Brooks as an upside play, noting that camp reports are promising.
Deepak Chona notes that Akers' ankle fracture-dislocation typically predicts a dip in rushing efficiency until about 12 months post-surgery (late October/early November). While his short-yardage role is likely protected, he may not look like his pre-injury self initially.
Deepak Chona states that data on shoulder labrum surgery is favorable for a quick return to pre-injury production levels. Matt Kelley views Irving as a value pick, preferring him over Kenneth Gainwell as a bet on the backfield, though he acknowledges uncertainty regarding Irving's specific role share.
Deepak Chona notes that while Mahomes' rushing volume and efficiency will likely dip for about 12 months post-surgery (until December), his passing production typically does not dip in year one. Matt Kelley remains confident, noting Mahomes is durable and has played through significant injuries before; he expects him to be ready for Week 1 and views him as a strong bet for Comeback Player of the Year.
Tucker Kraft is expected to be ready for week one following his ACL recovery. However, fantasy managers should anticipate a four-to-six-week ramp-up period for his snap and target volume. While he is a high-percentile athlete, his explosiveness after the catch—a key part of his game—may be limited early in the season.
DJ Moore's 2025 production dip compared to 2024 was largely driven by touchdown and yards-after-catch variance rather than injury or decline. He remains highly durable, having played 17 games in five consecutive seasons, and is expected to be a focal point of the offense.
Dalton Kincaid's 2024 performance was likely hampered by a lingering PCL injury that caused him to miss four games. With a healthy offseason, he is expected to bounce back and perform better than he did last year, making him a value at his current draft position.
Drake London is a strong value at his current ADP (outside the top 20 in best ball). Despite a PCL injury last year, he has a history of reliability and is expected to return to peak form after a full offseason of recovery. The source views him as an easy buy.
Ricky Pearsall is out for the year following PCL reconstruction surgery. The injury is a significant blow to his development, as he will miss critical practice time and rapport-building with Brock Purdy. His dynasty value has bottomed out, and he will essentially have to earn his role as if he were a day-three pick upon his return.
Mike Evans is considered a high-risk player due to a current quad strain combined with a history of recurrent soft tissue injuries and his age (over 30). While the quad injury itself isn't immediately alarming, his history suggests he is likely to miss time at some point during the season.
Josh Downs is dealing with a minor groin injury. Deepak Chona notes that missing training camp time for soft tissue strains does not necessarily impact in-season availability unless the injury lingers into the preseason, at which point the risk of missed time increases.
Alec Pierce is a high-risk, high-reward asset due to an ankle injury that required surgery in March; he lacks a clear return timeline as of August 8th. If he returns in the next two weeks, he would need a four-week ramp-up period to reach 85% of his pre-injury form, making him unlikely to be at full strength for September.
Kj Bolden notes AJ Harris from Indiana was a former first-round potential prospect who had a bad 2025 season and is looking for a rebound, indicating a prospect in need of recovery after a disappointing year.
Kj Bolden projects Xavier Scott as a top-20 pick in April 2027 if he rebounds from a 2025 injury with a season similar to his 2024 production (50 tackles, 4 INT, 11 PBU). The 5'11/190 senior from Illinois is a safety/nickel hybrid who plays similarly to Devon Witherspoon despite being undersized. Scott shows elite hip flexibility, smooth snappy hips, exceptional footspeed, and elite mirroring ability. He has good strength to take on blocks, above-average length to disrupt catch points, and fluid athleticism with good long speed. Bolden notes the NFL is valuing the nickel position heavily and Scott should thrive in that role.
The Alec Pierce injury updates don’t seem very optimistic
Haynes King scored a 5-yard touchdown run on the final play of the Panthers' preseason opener against the Cardinals, leading Carolina to a 33-30 victory in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. King saw significant action in the exhibition game while the team's starters rested.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales confirmed that Bryce Young will play in Saturday night's preseason game against the Bills at Highmark Stadium. Young will see limited action, expected to play somewhere between 10 and 20 plays depending on how drives develop, similar to the volume Kenny Pickett saw in the Hall of Fame Game.

Colts GM Chris Ballard said in late April that Richardson was 'in a good spot' regarding his vision. Head coach Shane Steichen said in May that Richardson had been cleared to play and 'he's been good' in the limited time he had been throwing at the team facility. However, Richardson alluded to eyesight being an issue in December when he had problems taking snaps while getting back on the practice field. On Aug. 9, when asked if his struggles in training camp were related to vision problems, Richardson said his vision had been good and attributed snap issues to rotating with different backup offensive linemen and centers.
Richardson lost his starting job to veteran Daniel Jones in the preseason last year and missed more than half of the 2025 season with his eye injury. He was approved by the Colts' front office in February to seek a trade, but no trade has materialized six months later. Colts GM Chris Ballard stated near the start of training camp that his intention was to keep Richardson on the roster alongside Jones and 2025 sixth-round pick Riley Leonard.
Richardson fractured the orbital bone around one of his eyes in a freak accident involving an exercise band before a game last year, was placed on injured reserve, and missed the remainder of the season. Teams interested in trading for or signing him have concerns about his eyesight as a result of the injury. Ian Rapoport stated the real question for Richardson's NFL future is 'how well can he see?' and whether he can feel and see rushers on either side and receivers downfield; these are real questions the Colts and any new team will have to answer.
Wright is projected to be on the Eagles' practice squad, indicating he is not expected to make the 53-man roster.
Jenkins is projected to be on the Eagles' practice squad, indicating he is not expected to make the 53-man roster.
Covey is projected to be on the Eagles' practice squad, indicating he is not expected to make the 53-man roster.
Moore is projected to be on the Eagles' practice squad, indicating he is not expected to make the 53-man roster.
Pierce is projected to be on the Eagles' practice squad, indicating he is not expected to make the 53-man roster.
Carter II has had a good training camp and provides dual-position depth at both safety and cornerback, particularly in the slot, positioning him as a versatile defensive asset on the 53-man roster.
Michael Carter II has had a good camp.
Stowers had his best two days recently but it was a very low bar to clear since he's had a quiet offseason. The rookie tight end is in jeopardy of being a healthy scratch, at least early in the year.
Mundt is clearly TE2; he's the second tight end in the Eagles' 12 personnel sets.
Goedert's had a solid-to-good camp.
Covey saw a lot of targets early in camp but he's been dealing with a hamstring injury and the team can probably keep him on the practice squad if they want him to be in the punt returner mix.
Moore was a really tough cut; he deserves to make the team and he's been getting first-team reps. But he also doesn't have special teams experience (19 career snaps there) and he's not subject to waivers. Maybe the Eagles can get him to agree to be on the practice squad early in the season before eventually adding him to the roster once a spot frees up.
Wilson has had a good camp as a pass-catcher and he obviously brings value to the table as a big blocking receiver.
Brown has been outshined by others but the Eagles gave him $5 million guaranteed, which impacted their compensatory pick formula, making it not easy to see them cutting him. Maybe they can move off Hollywood in a trade.
Lemon's had a disappointing offseason; the 2026 first-round pick missed at least four of the Eagles' eight spring practices and five of their eight training camp practices so far. Even prior to getting hurt, Lemon wasn't doing much to impress.
Cooper makes plays every day and has already done enough to make the roster. The question is whether he will actually get playing time, but he deserves it.
Smith's absence has opened up more opportunities for Wicks, who has fully taken advantage of them by making a lot of catches. It's clear that Hurts trusts Wicks, which is huge.
Smith has missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury but he looked good as ever prior to getting hurt. Zero concerns with him.
Pierce has flashed as both a runner, pass-catcher, and kick returner and might be able to push for the RB3 role, assuming the injury he suffered on Saturday isn't serious. Pierce has shown enough to at least make the practice squad.
Shipley should be in danger based on merit but the coaching staff will likely value him more than fans do.
Bigsby's had an awesome offseason; the Eagles absolutely must find a way to get him more involved than he was last year.
Barkley looks as good as ever in training camp.
Dalton has been the better player since camp began in the QB2 battle, though McKee previously outshined him in spring practices. Dalton's lacking arm strength is concerning but he does look comfortable in the offense.
Hurts has had an encouraging camp and really seems to be embracing the new offensive direction under Sean Mannion.

The Colts re-signed free agent wide receiver D.J. Montgomery on Sunday. Montgomery spent last season on the Colts' injured reserve list and has played 10 career games with six receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown across stints with the Colts (2022-25), Texans (2022), Jets (2020-22), and Browns (2019-20).
Ashton Dinsdale identifies Brock Bowers as an absolute PPR cheat code, recommending him at the 2/3 turn. Dinsdale compares his elite talent level to Rob Gronkowski, noting that his ball adjustment and yards-after-catch ability are exceptional. Despite concerns about the Raiders' offense, Dinsdale projects Bowers could see a target share and first-read rate similar to Jaxon Smith-Njigba's usage under Clint Kubiak, which would allow him to break fantasy football even if the Raiders remain a bottom-10 offense.
HC Dan Campbell on Jahmyr Gibbs: "We're going to push him, because we think this kid could be one of the best, if not the best... we've only scratched the surface of him."
Cam Skattebo participated in Saturday's practice after leaving practice early on Friday following a collision. He was limited but seemed fine, with the early exit appearing to be precautionary.
Makai Lemon has missed several days of training camp due to a hamstring injury and remained absent from practice on Saturday. The source notes it's not ideal for the rookie to be missing several days of training camp, though he was able to catch some passes from the JUGS machine on Saturday.
Jadarian Price missed practice for a second consecutive day on Saturday due to leg soreness. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said the injury is not considered serious and Price is expected back on the field in a few days.
Tucker Kraft returned to practice on Sunday as he continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered last season. The tight end is eyeing a Week 1 return and is back on the field running routes as he ramps up from the injury. His practice activity should be closely monitored throughout training camp.
Zay Flowers suffered a quad contusion during practice on Saturday but is not expected to be sidelined long. Ravens coach Jesse Minter told reporters, "I feel really good about where that's at. It may take a couple days. It may take one day, three days. I feel good that he'll be back out there being Zay pretty soon."
Luther Burden III suffered a groin injury in practice and will miss some time. The source notes this is awful news for Burden drafters and managers; he will see his stock drop in drafts, and don't be surprised if he gets off to a slow start once he comes back.
Groin injury for Luther Burden feels pretty optimistic over a month out, even though this report doesn’t really give any actual timeline info. Buying any dip in ADP on Burden
Ian Rapoport reported that Burden has a groin injury and should miss a little bit of time.
The safety suffered an injury last week that necessitated Cam Lewis to move to safety and cross-training adjustments in the Bears' defensive backfield.
Ian Rapoport reported that Luther Burden III has a groin injury and should miss a little bit of time. The injury occurred during practice when Tyrique Stevenson got tangled up with Burden.
Signed by the Cardinals on Sunday after spending his rookie 2024 season on the Jaguars' practice squad; most recently played for the Orlando Storm in the UFL spring league where he appeared in 11 games and caught 7 passes for 53 yards; undrafted rookie free agent from Rutgers with college production of 90 receptions for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns across 44 games at Rutgers and Maine.

Receiver Kisean Johnson was re-signed by the Packers on Sunday to address injuries at the receiver position; he originally joined Green Bay's practice squad late in the 2025 season.
Third-string quarterback Kyron Drones is falling behind Kyle McCord in the QB3 competition; if McCord continues to pull away, the Packers may move off Drones the next time they need to add a healthy body to the 91-man roster.
Third-string quarterback Kyle McCord is growing in the Packers offense and appears to be pulling away from Kyron Drones for the QB3 spot, feeling ahead by a solid step or two according to the source.
Receiver Savion Williams had a strong practice on Sunday, catching five balls in team periods including a 60-yard bomb from third-string quarterback Kyle McCord and nearly completing a one-handed grab earlier, despite Bo Melton getting the nod over him.
Receiver Skyy Moore got a snap in the backfield to open practice on Sunday; Moore has mostly been playing the slot for the Packers, suggesting there's a package where Jayden Reed is in the backfield.
Receiver Bo Melton was the next man up at receiver on Sunday with both Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed out, getting the nod over Savion Williams.
Tight end Thomas Yassmin is an international exemption player whose first practice with the Packers was on Family Night due to visa issues and is competing for playing time.
Tight end McCallan Castles was recently signed and is among the healthy tight ends on the Packers roster competing for playing time.
Tight end Messiah Swinson is among the healthy tight ends on the Packers roster competing for playing time behind Drake Dabney.
Tight end Drake Dabney was the 'starting' tight end in team drills on Sunday due to Tucker Kraft not being in team drills and both Luke Musgrave and Josh Whyle being injured.
Tight end Tucker Kraft returned to practice on Sunday after being held out of Family Night on Friday, as the team was conservative with his workload.
Running back Josh Jacobs was held out of practice entirely on Sunday with a groin injury.
Tight end Josh Whyle was added to the non-participants list on Sunday with a neck injury and did not participate in practice.
Receiver Jayden Reed was added to the non-participants list on Sunday with an ankle injury and did not participate in practice.
Receiver Matthew Golden was added to the non-participants list on Sunday with a toe injury and did not participate in practice.
Tight end Luke Musgrave remains on the physically unable to perform list with a neck injury; the staff has been vague about his timeline to return to the field, suggesting it is a 'tricky' injury situation.
Running back Chris Brooks, who was on the non-football injury list with a hamstring issue, was activated and returned to practice for the first time in training camp on Sunday.

Running back Josh Jacobs was held out of practice entirely on Sunday with a groin injury.
Tight end Josh Whyle was added to the non-participants list on Sunday with a neck injury, further depleting the tight end room alongside Luke Musgrave's ongoing neck issue.
Receiver Jayden Reed was added to the non-participants list on Sunday with an ankle injury, limiting his availability during training camp.
Receiver Matthew Golden was added to the non-participants list on Sunday with a toe injury, joining other newly sidelined players after Family Night practice.
Tight end Luke Musgrave remains on the PUP list with a neck injury described as 'tricky' by the coaching staff, with head coach Matt LaFleur being vague about his timeline to return to the field.
Running back Chris Brooks was activated from the NFI list (hamstring) and returned to practice for the first time in training camp on Sunday, clearing a significant injury hurdle ahead of the preseason opener in Pittsburgh.
Seemingly every season there’s a veteran WR who wasn’t thought of to draft in fantasy that comes out of nowhere and produces big numbers 2025: Parker Washington 2024: Jauan Jennings Who will it be in 2026? Honest question - I haven’t spent much time thinking about this one

Cole Kmet is positioned as one of Caleb Williams' main offensive options while Luther Burden III is sidelined. With thin WR depth and Burden out, Kmet's role as a primary target for the Bears offense is elevated.
Colston Loveland is positioned as one of Caleb Williams' main offensive options while Luther Burden III is sidelined. With thin WR depth and Burden out, Loveland's role as a primary target for the Bears offense is elevated.
D'Andre Swift is positioned as one of Caleb Williams' main offensive options while Luther Burden III is sidelined. With thin WR depth and Burden out, Swift's role as a primary target for the Bears offense is elevated.
Caleb Williams will rely on Rome Odunze, running back D'Andre Swift, and tight ends Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet as his main options while Luther Burden III is sidelined, unless one of the depth wide receivers steps up.
Scotty Miller is a veteran option for the Bears after spending the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Miller played in 13 games last year with just 62 yards on nine receptions. He is now among Chicago's available WR options with Burden sidelined.
Jahdae Walker went undrafted last year but landed with the Chicago Bears. He saw action in nine games during his rookie season and finished with 87 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions. With Burden sidelined, Walker is among the Bears' available WR options.
Zavion Thomas was drafted by the Bears in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He spent his final two years of college at LSU after beginning at Mississippi State, playing 13 games for the Tigers last season with 488 yards and four touchdowns. With Burden sidelined, Thomas is now among Chicago's best WR options.
Kalif Raymond signed with the Bears in the offseason after spending the last five years with the Detroit Lions. The 5-foot-8 receiver played in 15 games last year with 289 yards and one touchdown. With Burden sidelined and thin WR depth, Raymond is now among the Bears' best options at the position.
Rome Odunze is clearly the top wide receiver for the Bears and will be a primary target for Caleb Williams, especially with Luther Burden III sidelined. Odunze is heading into his third season after playing 12 games last year with 661 yards and six touchdowns. With the Bears' thin WR depth and the loss of DJ Moore in the offseason, Odunze will shoulder increased offensive responsibility.
Luther Burden III suffered a groin injury in practice Saturday and is expected to miss some time recovering. He went down awkwardly and was seen leaving early with a trainer, walking gingerly. Groin injuries can be problematic and easily aggravated, so the Bears may be cautious with his recovery. The good news is Chicago's regular season start is more than a month away, giving Burden time to recover.
Fitzgerald, who will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026, reflected on his journey from Vikings ball boy to Hall of Famer; he credited his time around Vikings legends like Cris Carter, Randy Moss, John Randle, Randall McDaniel, and Chris Doleman for setting his heights high enough to believe Hall of Fame enshrinement was attainable. His career with the Cardinals featured multiple QB carousel rides highlighted by four seasons of Kurt Warner (2005, 2007-09) and four with Carson Palmer (2013, 2015-17) as the team's leading passer, demonstrating his ability to produce at an elite level despite significant QB inconsistency.
Jefferson revealed honest frustration with Vikings QB performance, expressing that "it gets frustrating" when quarterbacks fail to do their job; this reflects concerns about offensive execution and QB play impacting his production.
Jones stacked another strong day at Vikings training camp, continuing to make a positive impression during the evaluation period.
McCarthy had a bounceback day at Vikings training camp, demonstrating improved performance after earlier struggles; the source notes this as a significant moment in the ongoing QB competition.
Fleming was targeted by J.J. McCarthy on a deep out route during McCarthy's strong practice day on Friday, one of his best days of the summer. McCarthy also had three touchdown passes in a four-play red zone drill during the same practice, suggesting Fleming may be part of McCarthy's receiving options.
Thomas was reduced to a boundary decoy in the final stretch of last season when the Vikings simplified the offense to mask McCarthy's flaws, severely impacting the production of elite players down the stretch. The source notes this occurred against bottom-tier, unmotivated opponents (Commanders ranked dead last in defense with fired coaches; Giants with interim defensive coordinator), making the limited usage particularly concerning for a star target.
Jefferson was severely impacted by the offensive scheme changes late last season when the Vikings simplified the offense to mask McCarthy's flaws; he was reduced to a boundary decoy and did not cross 100 yards once over the final four games, averaging a frustrating 54.5 yards per game (19 catches for 218 yards). The source notes that simplifying the offense allows opposing defenses to easily predict play calls and suffocate elite players like Jefferson and Addison. The Wilfs' $140 million investment in Jefferson is cited as motivation for the QB competition, as they saw the investment being wasted on a 54% completion rate, empty stadium seats in December, and a damaged team brand.
McCarthy is trailing significantly in snap count (33 to 63 over last four practices with first-team offense; 136 overall snaps to Murray's 146) despite completing 70-for-103 (67.9%) while playing more conservatively. The source notes McCarthy had a strong practice on Friday with three touchdown passes in a red zone drill and a deep completion to Dontae Fleming, but ESPN's Kevin Seifert reports that even with good days, McCarthy has not gotten to the point where he is seriously challenging Murray for the starting job. The source attributes McCarthy's struggles to injury history (high ankle sprain, concussion in year two) and mechanics/processing issues upon return, and notes that when the offense was simplified to mask his flaws late last season, it capped the ceiling for elite receivers like Jefferson and Addison.
Murray has significantly out-snapped J.J. McCarthy 63 to 33 over the last four practices with the first-team offense, effectively pulling away in what was publicly framed as an even QB competition; overall, Murray has 146 snaps to McCarthy's 136. Murray is completing 73-for-110 (66.3%) while pushing the ball more aggressively downfield, and the source believes the likelihood that Murray becomes the starting quarterback has only increased over the first two weeks of camp.
Burden suffered a groin injury during one-on-one drills and is set to miss some time; his timetable to return has not been reported. He exited practice early on Saturday and limped back to the locker room.
Jared Goff remains the Lions' starting quarterback with Josh Dobbs signed as his backup after Teddy Bridgewater's departure.
Luke Altmyer, an undrafted rookie free-agent signing, remains third-string quarterback for the Lions behind Jared Goff and newly signed Josh Dobbs.
Simpson will play in the preseason as part of the backup QB competition with Bennett. JJ Zachariason cautions that Simpson should not play until he is absolutely ready, as a mid or late round draft pick is not worth the potential downside of playing Simpson prematurely and cratering his confidence.
Simpson, a first-round rookie, is battling Stetson Bennett for the primary backup role to Matthew Stafford. Simpson has displayed strong processing and decision-making skills, and his arm is proving to be more talented than he received credit for during the draft process. The only advantage Bennett has over Simpson is time, and that competitive edge is soon to fade.
Bennett has trade value for the Rams despite the backup competition with Simpson. JJ Zachariason argues that if McVay's decision between Bennett and Simpson is close, the Rams should consider trading Bennett for draft capital to restock their cupboard after recent veteran acquisitions. Bennett's presence also insulates Simpson from playing prematurely and cratering his confidence, making him valuable as a veteran backup.
Bennett is battling first-round rookie Ty Simpson to become the primary backup to Matthew Stafford. Reports from practice indicate Bennett has taken a significant step forward in his fourth training camp, although turnovers have ratcheted up in recent days. McVay's decision between the two players remains in flux; Bennett's not playing in the preseason would signal he has won the backup job, but McVay's hesitation suggests the competition is still close.
Rodgers criticized ESPN for insufficient coverage of the Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini situation while appearing on ESPN; the source notes that the Pittsburgh game between the Patriots and Steelers could be more interesting given Rodgers' public comments on the matter.
Adam and I share similar thoughts here on Luther Burden. Data backs it up that it could be ~2-3 weeks missed from now with low reinjury concern. Just hope it’s not sports hernia related too. With the info we have, Burden should be available Week 1. (Follow Adam 👇🏼) [Retweeted](
Downs is a critical piece for Indianapolis' starting offense, particularly as Alec Pierce continues to recover from offseason ankle surgery. In 2025, Downs caught 58 passes for 566 yards with four touchdowns in 16 games, entering the final year of his rookie contract after being selected in the third round of the 2023 draft.
Head coach Shane Steichen told reporters that Downs' groin injury is not considered serious and he should return to the field soon; Downs could even potentially be on the field for the Colts' joint practice with the Patriots on Tuesday. Luther Burden suffered a groin injury and will "miss a little bit of time," per @RapSheet.
Bridgewater signed with Detroit in 2026 and was expected to help fill a leadership void as a backup quarterback, but is now leaving the team and may have played his final NFL game.
Bears TE; Burden injury does not directly impact his role. Community notes Kmet still a top-15 TE option; target distribution includes Odunze, Loveland, RBs, and Kmet. No significant sentiment shift.
Bears QB; Burden injury may affect his WR1 target distribution. Community notes Bears likely need to score heavily to win games (weak defense), so Caleb volume should remain high. Odunze, Loveland, and RBs (via Ben Johnson system) will absorb Burden's targets.
Odunze drafted 7th–8th round despite being 9th overall pick two seasons ago and WR1 for first third of last season before foot injury. Burden's groin injury removes target competition; community bullish on Odunze late-round value. Played nearly double Burden's snaps last season. Bears added Raymond (Lions), new WR, and TE in 3rd round, but Odunze still undervalued at WR #28 ADP; should be solid WR2 with upside.
Groin injury, will miss time per Rapoport; no tear mentioned suggests likely strain. 1–3 weeks out, on track for Week 1 return barring setback. Hype correction expected; some buyers see dip opportunity, others wary of lingering groin issues (18–25% recurrence rate cited). Burden was heavily overdrafted pre-injury; this may cool his ADP and benefit secondary Bears targets.
Deshaun Watson "feels" more likely than Shedeur Sanders to start Week 1, per @RapSheet. <https://play.underdogsports.com/vgwg/mhqghj96>
Luther Burden - confirmed groin strain I’ve examined over 2000 NFL injuries here’s what they say about groin injuries in NFL WRs Avg 2 weeks missed with only 14% missing more than 5 weeks Relatively small re-injury risk upon return [Quoted](
BREAKING - Bears WR Luther Burden III suffered a groin injury and will miss time, per @RapSheet
Okay Luther Burden will miss a bit of time with a groin injury The ominous one to keep an eye on comment We need to know more Decent time to get healthy and hopefully not a big injury
Rap: Luther Burden III (groin) should miss "a little bit of time."
#Bears WR Luther Burden III suffered a groin injury recently in practice and should miss a little bit of time, source says. One to keep an eye on. [Retweeted](
Wrote this when the most recent news on Pierce was GM Chris Ballard saying he was "a week or two away." Since then: * Steichen says no timetable for return * Multiple tweets today indicating a visible limp + muscle atrophy Starting to get more nervous on the injury timeline. [Quoted](
Rookie WR Ja'Kobi Lane has another good day at Ravens training camp. Did a good job working back to the ball for a 15-yard grab in front of Marlon Humphrey, drew a PI on Humphrey on a deep ball down the sideline, and made a diving catch on an out-route for another big gain.
Savion with a 5th catch in team, as Love hits him on an in-breaker. Just missed a one-handed grab earlier too.
Happy to hear Josh Downs should be fine but man oh man this dude cannot catch a break in August

HC Shane Steichen said that Josh Downs' groin injury is not serious, via @HolderStephen.
The most consequential news to come out of Sunday's Colts practice is probably coach Shane Steichen saying that Josh Downs' groin injury is NOT serious, and that he could potentially return for Tuesday's joint practice at New England.
After exiting practice yesterday - early speculation and reporting is that Luther Burden has a groin injury

Lions HC Dan Campbell on Jahmyr Gibbs: "We're gonna push him, because we think this kid can be one of the best, if not the best. We've only scratched the surface of him." (@nolanbianchi)
Tight end Nick Muse was waived by the Detroit Lions as part of roster moves ahead of Sunday's training camp practice.
Teddy Bridgewater has been placed on the reserve/retired list after stepping away from football. Head coach Dan Campbell praised Bridgewater as an exceptional human and teammate, noting his preparation and heart, but the Lions intend to sign a veteran backup quarterback by Monday to replace him.

This was a great exercise. More Kenneth Walker propaganda.
Jayden Reed is dealing with a short-term injury that prompted the Green Bay Packers to add receiver depth on Sunday.
Matthew Golden is dealing with a short-term injury that prompted the Green Bay Packers to add receiver depth on Sunday.
Kisean Johnson was signed due to short-term injuries to receivers Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed; Johnson's addition to the roster was a depth move to address receiver injuries rather than a long-term role expansion.
Green Bay Packers signed Kisean Johnson to the 91-man roster on Sunday after he impressed in a workout alongside Kobe Hudson and Cornell Powell; this is Johnson's second stint with the team, following a practice squad signing on January 6th ahead of the postseason. Johnson was not signed to a reserve/futures deal after the 2024 season, making him a free agent before this re-signing.

Matthew Golden is dealing with a short-term injury that prompted the Green Bay Packers to add a receiver to their roster on Sunday.
Green Bay re-signed WR Kisean Johnson to the 91-man roster after he impressed most among three workout candidates (Johnson, Kobe Hudson, Cornell Powell) evaluated due to short-term injuries to Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed. This is Johnson's second stint with the Packers; he previously signed to their practice squad on January 6th ahead of the postseason loss to Chicago. Originally signed as UDFA with Cleveland Browns in 2025, Johnson was The Athletic's Dane Brugler's 124th-ranked receiver in the 2025 class; at Western Kentucky he posted 75 receptions for 925 yards and seven touchdowns in his lone FBS season after transferring from Alabama State (FCS All-American). Measurables: 6'0.5", 216 pounds, 4.63-second 40-yard dash, 33" vertical jump.
Again talking about under-center work (and the hope that they can have explosive runs with Chase Brown) They want to create more diversity in their offense to protect Burrow a bit more
Ashton Jeanty on offseason changes: "As far as my offseason training, dialed it in more. Better regiment going into training camp. Also my diet, really switching up how I eat. Being more healthy, more clean and I feel like it really has translated onto the field and getting my body right."
The screen game usage previously allocated to Kadarius Toney over the last few years is being transferred to Kenneth Walker.
LeSean McCoy is used as a stylistic comparison for Kenneth Walker, noting their similar playstyles and the historical success of running backs in Andy Reid's system, referencing McCoy's past status as a top-three fantasy draft pick.
The source suggests that the Chiefs' offense will outperform current market projections as Patrick Mahomes gets healthier, creating a more favorable environment for his running backs.
Josh Jacobs is used as a stylistic comparison for Ashton Jeanty, with the source questioning if Jeanty's ceiling is essentially 'Josh Jacobs plus'.
Saquon Barkley is used as a benchmark for elite running back explosiveness, a trait the source feels Ashton Jeanty lacks in comparison. Jeanty is considered a top-tier prospect alongside Barkley, Bijan Robinson, and Christian McCaffrey, with the source noting his high-level receiving ability despite limited passing volume in his college offense.
Devon Achane is viewed as a superstar talent with high-value touch potential. Despite environmental uncertainty, his production remains elite, and he is projected to catch approximately 80 passes. The Dolphins' offensive line is considered a major strength, and the market may be over-discounting him due to durability concerns.
Jameson Williams showed serious improvement in his craft last season and has been underutilized as a yards-after-catch threat, making him a key factor in the Lions' target distribution.
Kenneth Walker is a high-upside target projected for an 1800 scrimmage yard, 12-touchdown season. He is moving to a superior Chiefs offensive line and is expected to inherit the screen game role previously occupied by Kadarius Toney. Walker is highly effective in space, with efficiency comparable to Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs, though minor groin injury history remains a slight concern.
CeeDee Lamb is an elite fantasy asset who has finished as the overall WR1 and remains in his prime. While acknowledging a history of nagging injuries, the source maintains Lamb is in a perfect situation with a great quarterback and play-caller. Selected at the 1.8 spot in the mock draft, his value could rise further if the Cowboys move on from other receivers, keeping him in the elite tier alongside Malik Nabers.
The source notes that Michael Mayer's presence is a 'huge secret thing' for Brock Bowers, as it allows Bowers to avoid playing with his hand in the dirt, effectively freeing him up for more dynamic usage.
Sam LaPorta is highlighted as a significant source of target competition for Amon-Ra St. Brown, with the expectation that he will be re-signed by the Lions as an impending free agent.
