A.J. Brown

PositiveRole40:00

A.J. Brown is no longer available for the Eagles; he was previously a dominant force against the Bears in man coverage with 10 catches, two scores, and 132 yards in their last matchup on Black Friday. His absence removes a key weapon from the Eagles' offense and reduces their passing game diversity.

Insight page

Aaron Rodgers

NegativeProjection14:42

Brandon Anderson continues to downgrade Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers offense week-to-week, despite his numbers liking Pittsburgh in the matchup. He notes that Rodgers' performance against the Bengals' strong defensive line will likely force checkdowns to tight ends, as he won't want to hold the ball and take hits. Anderson is avoiding the Steelers moneyline despite favorable numbers, citing his ongoing concerns about Rodgers' ability to execute in this offense.

Insight page
NegativeProjection65:52

Aaron Rodgers is referenced as having fallen significantly in performance quality; speaker uses him as a comparison point for how poorly Deshaun Watson is playing, noting 'That's how far Aaron Rodgers has fallen right now. That's how bad it's gotten.' Rodgers' recent poor performances against the Browns are also mentioned as evidence of low-scoring outcomes.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury48:03

Pierce is out for the Colts. This is a big loss for Indianapolis; no receiver on the Colts can stretch the Texans defense or win man-to-man coverage, which cuts out explosive plays—the primary way Houston's defense has been vulnerable.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeProjection9:00

Baker Mayfield has struggled against the blitz through two weeks, posting back-to-back weeks of poor interceptions—not just bad decisions but egregiously bad ones. Matt Moore expresses significant concern about Mayfield's decision-making under pressure, particularly facing Minnesota's blitz rate, though Anderson argues the kitchen sink trend and Mayfield's home underdog status override these concerns. Mayfield is 42% ATS as a favorite for his career, creating skepticism about Minnesota's favored status.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeInjury38:06

Caleb Williams is out for the Bears' Monday night game against the Eagles, causing the line to move a full touchdown from Bears minus-1.5 to Eagles minus-5. The total also dropped from 47.5 to 41.5 with Keenum taking over.

Insight page

Case Keenum

PositiveValue38:06

Bears plus-5 (or plus-4.5 at some books) against the Eagles on Monday night offers value; the line moved a full touchdown against Keenum, but the speaker believes this overvalues the Eagles. Ben Johnson's offensive scheme with a backup quarterback is intriguing, and as an underdog, Johnson is 67% ATS and 67% ATS against teams over .500. Case Keenum as a home dog is 11-4 ATS (73%). The Bears have a better offensive line than the Eagles currently, and the Eagles are coming off a long, hot-weather game against Tennessee and are tired. The Bears' defense is only four spots behind the Eagles in defensive DVOA.

Insight page
PositiveProjection38:06

The line moved a full touchdown against Case Keenum when Caleb Williams was ruled out; the Bears went from minus-1.5 to Eagles minus-3.5 when Caleb got hurt, then to minus-4.5 or minus-5 when Tyson Bagent also got hurt. This represents an entire touchdown of value swing from Williams to Keenum, and the total dropped from 47.5 to 44.5 to 41.5, detracting a full touchdown worth of value for Keenum. However, the speaker believes this is overreacting and that Keenum's presence is being undervalued relative to the Eagles' current state.

Insight page
PositiveValue41:21

Keenum has an 11-4 ATS record as a home dog (73% win rate). The source and co-host view this as a strong historical trend worth playing.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveMatchup40:00

Swift had 125 yards when the Bears played the Eagles on Black Friday last year, demonstrating the Bears' ability to run effectively against Philadelphia's defense. This historical matchup data supports the case for the Bears' ground game being effective in the upcoming Monday night game.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeMatchup65:05

Dak Prescott faces an elite Texans defense in next week's matchup; speaker advises fading Prescott against elite defenses, noting this is a recurring pattern: 'I know I don't have to tell you to fade Dak Prescott against an elite defense. I know you're ready to do that. We've watched that every Sunday afternoon for years now.'

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

NegativeInjury40:00

Dallas Goedert is out for the Eagles, limiting their offensive diversity and ability to attack the Bears defense in the passing game.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveUsage4:01

Schultz was the primary driver of Brandon Anderson's +6.44 unit Week 2 win, generating nearly 11 units of profit alone. He caught 4 passes in the first half against Houston, then went quiet mid-game before exploding in the fourth quarter with 7 catches over 7 consecutive plays (or near-consecutive), demonstrating extreme target concentration in clutch situations. Anderson notes this level of volume is not sustainable weekly.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeProjection65:44

Deshaun Watson is characterized as one of the worst quarterbacks in the league currently in the context of the Steelers-Browns Thursday night matchup; speaker sarcastically compares him unfavorably to Aaron Rodgers, suggesting poor offensive output is expected from both teams.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

PositiveProjection62:09

Speaker expresses confidence that James Winston will perform well in an upcoming game, stating 'I think James Winston is going to go in there and do the thing,' suggesting upside in his performance projection for the week.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveMatchup40:00

Warren had 125 yards when the Bears played the Eagles on Black Friday last year, demonstrating the Bears' ability to run effectively against Philadelphia's defense. This historical matchup data supports the case for the Bears' ground game being effective in the upcoming Monday night game.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeProjection16:56

Matt Moore refuses to bet Joe Burrow as a road favorite in AFC North division games, citing a strong historical trend that home underdogs in AFC North matchups have been profitable regardless of the specific teams or coaches involved. While Burrow's offense has shown promise (offensive line still garbage but pass rush improved), Moore's aversion to the road favorite spot overrides any individual player confidence.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeMatchup49:00

Taylor averaged only 3.2 yards per carry against the Texans last year across 2 games (35 carries, 111 yards). The source uses this as evidence that the Colts' run game will struggle against Houston's defense, making the Texans comfortable allowing the Colts to lean on the run.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeMatchup7:20

Jordan Love had a strong performance against the Vikings in Week 1, going crazy in a five-minute stretch that caused the Vikings' defensive line to fall apart. Brandon Anderson uses this as evidence that the Vikings' 2-0 record is not reflective of their true quality—they stole wins against Green Bay and Chicago rather than dominating.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection41:50

The source bet Josh Allen at 50-to-1 odds for offensive player of the year this week. The context is that the Bills offense is 'destroying worlds right now' and has allowed only 30 points in both games; historically, teams that allow 62+ points in a 2-0 start have had an MVP/offensive player of the year winner.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeRole8:01

Kyler Murray returned to the Vikings in Week 3 after injury, but has only played 5 snaps so far and those snaps did not go well. Brandon Anderson notes this represents a significant stylistic adjustment for the Vikings offense, and he remains skeptical until seeing proof of concept. Murray is 42% ATS as a favorite for his career, adding to Anderson's caution about Minnesota's favored status despite their 2-0 record.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

NegativeInjury18:24

Michael Pittman Jr. may still be out in Week 3, which would further concentrate targets to tight ends like Pat Freiermuth. Pittman is described as the security blanket receiver for the Steelers offense, so his absence increases checkdown opportunities to the tight end position.

Insight page

Nico Collins

NegativeInjury5:38

Collins suffered an injury that benefited Brandon Anderson's betting strategy in Week 2, as the Texans' receiving corps was depleted. Anderson references this injury as a factor that helped his escalator bets hit, though the specific nature and severity of the injury is not detailed in this segment.

Insight page
NegativeInjury48:03

Collins is likely out for the Texans-Colts game (status not yet confirmed but looks likely). He has been a major loss for Houston; in his last 4 games against Indianapolis, he had 556 yards. The source notes his absence significantly impacts the Texans' ability to stretch the Colts defense and create explosive plays.

Insight page

Omarion Hampton

PositiveProjection41:21

Marion Hampton is being targeted for an anytime touchdown play in the Bills game this week.

Insight page
PositiveValue41:21

Hampton is outside the top 10 in touchdown odds this week despite strong recent production; he's scored a touchdown in both games (2 of Chargers' 4 total TDs) and has a 78% touchdown rate over his last 9 games (7 of 9). The source views this as a discount given the hatred toward the Chargers offense. At minus 115 at DraftKings, this represents standard line value.

Insight page
PositiveProjection43:56

In Mike McDaniel's offensive system, running backs consistently produce touchdowns; A-chan had 12 TDs last year and 11 the year before, while Raheem Mostert had 21. The Bills allowed the most rushing touchdowns to running backs last year (18, more than one per game). Hampton has not yet had a multi-touchdown game in his career, but the Bills allowed six multi-touchdown games to running backs last year, creating opportunity at 5-to-1 odds at DraftKings.

Insight page

Pat Freiermuth

PositiveProjection18:00

Pat Freiermuth has a strong historical matchup against Cincinnati; his three highest reception games (8, 8, 9 catches) all came against the Bengals, and six of his nine highest yardage games in his career were also against Cincinnati. He's increased his snap percentage this season with Johnnie Smith and Connor Hayward gone, recording 5 targets in each of the first two games with 4-5 catches. Even in a down 2023 season, his best game was against the Bengals (5 catches, 111 yards, 1 TD). Anderson projects over 3.5 receptions at -138, over 70 yards at 6-to-1, and over 8 receptions at +1160, noting that 6 of his 17 career 5+ catch games came vs. Cincinnati, and 3 of his 4 career 8+ reception games also came against the Bengals.

Insight page

Tyson Bagent

NegativeInjury39:00

Tyson Bagent is likely out for the Bears' Monday night game against the Eagles, contributing to the line moving from Eagles minus-3.5 to minus-4.5 or minus-5. With both Caleb Williams and Bagent injured, Case Keenum will start.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury52:01

Flowers' status is uncertain for the Ravens-Cowboys game in Brazil. The source notes uncertainty around his availability, along with questions about Ronnie Stanley and Troy Hendrickson, as factors affecting the Ravens line movement from minus 3 to minus 3.5.

3:07I'm your host, Matt Moore. Glad to have you guys with us.
3:11You know, Brandon's known for his escalators, mine shafts, all the way up, all the way down.
3:16And so you get to move all over the board as we go through Brandon's best bets each and every week.
3:22We'll talk about our wins. We'll talk about the losses.
3:26We'll go through our five picks for the DraftKings contest that we're in.
3:30We'll talk about all that and more on today's show.
3:33It's a playground for betters. Well, Brandon, another successful week last week.
3:36Another big escalator hit. Give me the rundown on how last week went for you.
3:41I think this is a Dalton Schultz podcast officially.
3:44Now, my Schultz jersey hasn't come yet in the mail today.
3:47So I'm rocking the Brazil jersey instead as we go to Brazil this weekend.
3:52But we went not quite week one. Week one plus 6.47 units.
3:55We finished plus 6.44 units in week two. We fell short.
3:5944% ROI. Almost all of that. In fact, more than all of that was Dalton Schultz.
4:04Dalton Schultz was like almost 11 units. So I actually lost on a few of the other things there.
4:10And look, I was watching back the Texans game.
4:12And in my head, I was like, man, late in that game.
4:16So our old buddy, Brendan Glishine, texted me. He tailed this Schultz bet.
4:20He texted me, eight! Just out of the blue.
4:23Haven't spoken to him for like a couple of months.
4:26I just get an eight with a bunch of exclamation marks on.
4:30And I'm like, okay, what? And I open it up.
4:33And Matt, you and I had been texting. Schultz had four catches in like the first quarter, first half.
4:39And then there he sat. And there he sat.
4:41And there he did nothing. And of course, you tailed at just the four and a half over.
4:47And so you were like, of course, this is how it goes for me.
4:51Here I go. I missed by one. You got the number.
4:55I lost the number. And then suddenly the fourth quarter came.
4:58And so I quick put the game back on the screen.
5:02And I'm watching back the other day. I'm like, I think there was a time when Schultz cut four passes in a row.
5:09Like literally four plays in a row. And I'm watching and I get to the spot.
5:14I'm like, ah, okay. It was only three catches in a row.
5:17No, no. It was three then. And then like a few minutes later, it was four in a row.
5:23A different time. Seven catches over seven plays consecutive basically at one point.
5:27So yeah, that was a fun one. That was like, we're not doing that every week.
5:32We're not even going to take over three and a half all the way to 10 is a bet.
5:38I've not given out an escalator like that. Usually we locked into the Nico Collins injury helping us out.
5:44We hit a Cowboys bet last week. We'll be fading the Cowboys in a way this week.
5:49So yeah, it was a fun one. We're off to a very fun start.
5:54Look, when you hit escalators and mine shafts, they're going to have some big wins.
5:58And you're gonna have a lot of losses along the way.
6:02So I like the big wins. We've had some big ones so far.
6:06Great start to the season for Brandon. Anderson. Absolutely phenomenal.
6:09Let's get to some more. Let's give the people what they want.
6:13Let's get to some week three NFL best bets.
6:15Shoot some ladders really as it's ups and downs, but mostly it's lots of fun.
6:20Going up. I'll meet you at the bottom. You've got a mind shaft, but you're going to save that for the look ahead.
6:27So let's go ahead and get started with the fun stuff.
6:31The ladders all the way up. Let's get started right there.
6:34Where do you want to start with your ladder section?
6:37So we have to start here. It is week three.
6:40And if you are a regular listener, you know that week three in the NFL is kitchen sink.
6:46Kitchen sink season. It's here. The kitchen sink. This is when we back those dying on the vine.
6:51Oh, and two teams with one last gasp of air.
6:54We'll get back to the trends in a second.
6:57We're going to start out in Tampa Bay with my favorite kitchen sink week play of the year.
7:03It's the Buccaneers plus one and a half against my Vikings.
7:06Of course, of course, that's the kitchen sink trend that feels the best.
7:10Like, I think this is a chance for the universe to sort of even things out with both these teams.
7:16These are pretty even teams. They finished last year 18th and 20th in DVOA.
7:21I projected their offenses and their defenses back to back in my rankings, I noticed as I was preparing for this.
7:27So they're pretty even teams, but that's not what the records say so far.
7:322-0, 0-2. It feels like earth shattering differences. But what have we learned about the Vikings so far?
7:37They had pretty bad three quarters against the Packers.
7:40And then just a crazy five minutes where Jordan Love went crazy and the line fell apart.
7:45They stole a win. Then we get this ugly, rainy Chicago game where the Bears turn over on the one.
7:51They get a field goal blocked. The Vikings steal another win.
7:55I don't know if we've learned a lot about the team.
7:58We've seen the Vikings stealing wins then last season.
8:01Now you get Kyler Murray back. That should be good.
8:04But we don't have proof of concept, Kyler Murray, in Minnesota.
8:08We've had, I think, five snaps so far. They did not go well.
8:12It's a pretty big stylistic adjustment. And Kyler's 42% ATS as a favorite for his career.
8:17So I have to be skeptical until we see it.
8:20The Bucs offensively, the Bucs everythingly have been terrible.
8:22They've been so disappointing, Matt. I keep backing the Bucs and they keep bucking me right back off.
8:28I'm back on the horse again. Their offensive line has not been great this year as I would hope that it would have been.
8:35But I do think that the tackles, especially Tristan Wirfs, I think they can hold up against Dallas Turner, against all that blitzing, all that pressure.
8:44And this is an old rivalry game. As a lifelong Vikings fan, Vikings Bucs is never one I appreciate seeing on the schedule.
8:51No longer twice a year. But Tampa has won eight of the last 10.
8:55They're a team that typically has had Minnesota's numbers.
8:58So before I get to the kitchen sink of it all, what are your thoughts on this matchup, Vikings Buccaneers?
9:04Look, I've long texted you about Tampa. I was all in on them last year.
9:09The fall off of the air was really crushing for me.
9:12I am staying away until Baker can kind of like, Baker's got to calm down.
9:17I am okay with the variance that like Baker's a gunslinger.
9:20And so you're going to have some big throws that he misses.
9:24But that interception last week was so, like he has had back-to-back weeks of just like, not just a bad INT, but oh God, so bad.
9:32I look at the blitz rate and it's like, okay, that can either work positively where it's like Baker's got to make
9:39a quick decision to the easy route. Or he could be under pressure and he can make wild ducks that just get absolutely smacked up by the Vikings.
9:47So I am terrified of this game. And I understand that that's the point of the kitchen sink game.
9:53I understand it. But God, I am freaked out by this game so much.
9:58Like, obviously I want to be on Tampa. Like that's a hundred percent.
10:02Like I know. I know. I know. I know the rules.
10:05Like I know the flow. I know what I'm supposed to do, but this one terrifies me.
10:10Talk me into it. Yeah, I get it. Look, Baker has not been great against the blitz.
10:16So it should be scary. It is scary. Here are the kitchen sink rules.
10:20Here's the trend. Oh, and two teams, obviously in week three facing any team that's not oh, and two.
10:26So anyone that has at least one win since 2010, those own two teams are 64, 38 and two against the spread, 63% cover rate.
10:34This is your everything but the kitchen sink. You're trying to save your season.
10:38Only one season in that stretch did our kitchen sink teams finish more than one game under 500.
10:43So routinely year after year, this is tried and true.
10:4711 straight years, the favorites have won less than the pregame win expectancy in this week.
10:52Nine straight years. We've had at least one favorite upset outright of a favorite of five or more points.
10:57The last three years, we've had five upsets by favorites of higher than seven points in this spot here.
11:03So this should be at the very least, this should be a warning neon sign to you away from, oh, yeah, I'll
11:10just bet this favorite up against an oh and two team.
11:14The Chargers, the Titans, the Commanders, they're terrible. Oh, and two, they're out for the year.
11:19This for me is the best kitchen sink spot on the slate.
11:22I was going to do the sub trends on this one.
11:26And in the kitchen sink spot, it's better if you were a favorite last week.
11:30Tampa was 71% ATS. It's better if the opponent was an underdog last week, like the Vikings, 68%.
11:36It's better with a lower total than 44, 71%.
11:39It's better if the oh and two team has scored 17 points both weeks, 78%.
11:43All of those things fit in this spot here.
11:46I will say this, Matt, you and I talked to this offline.
11:50This, unfortunately, is the weakest kitchen sink week that I can remember.
11:54And that's not me judging these particular teams. This is team agnostic that is judging the trends and the teams that fit the trend.
12:01Last year, we had 10 oh and two teams.
12:04I had five underdogs last year that had a better kitchen sink rating than anyone has this year.
12:09So I would not necessarily advise you to go crazy on the kitchen sink stuff this week.
12:15But I do think this one is a good spot.
12:18Own two teams ATS, which the Bucs also are off of one square loss, 62% against the spread.
12:23And then a couple of trends against the Vikings too.
12:26Teams that are 2-0 straight up and ATS that are not favored by more than four.
12:31That's Minnesota. It's like, okay, we know, right? We know.
12:34We know you're not really the thing you've looked like.
12:38Those teams are 42% against the spread. Teams in week three covering by an average of 11 points or more.
12:44That's the Vikings. Again, 36% against the spread. If those teams are playing in a spread below four, now they fall to 7-24-1 ATS.
12:5123% cover rate for a team like the Vikings in this spot.
12:55Give me the Bucs. Bucs plus one and a half.
12:58And give me an alt line here. We're in the escalator section.
13:02You know when I take the home underdog of under field goal.
13:05Since 2015, we've had 140-ish of those dogs win outright.
13:0960% of those that win win by at least a touchdown.
13:12Baker Mayfield, 27 Buccaneers win. 16 of them have been by a touchdown or more.
13:17I don't want to sweat out a close one, Matt.
13:20I think the Bucs are just going to win and win good.
13:23So give me the Bucs minus six and a half at plus 255 on the alt as well.
13:29This is why you're the GOAT. Because like, you know, Baker...
13:32I know it's like Baker's looked like this, so you should play.
13:36But you're not just going like halfway. You're like, no, no, no, no.
13:40Not only is Baker not going to look like garbage versus the number one pass rush in the NFL, but he's actually going to win by margin.
13:49That's right. Now, we're not just going to catch the falling knife, Matt.
13:53I'm going to catch you and throw it back at you.
13:56That's what I'm doing. Yeah. Yeah. This is... The Buccaneers have failed to cover 11 straights.
14:01That's what we're up against here. Yeah. Yeah. And they are not, in fact, do.
14:06All right. You do... It's become the weekly... We should just start naming this show honestly.
14:11And I know our producers wanted to do the whole playground motif.
14:14We should really just call this the tight end escalator show.
14:18Because you have one every week and it's been killing it.
14:21Dalton Schultz last week. You've got another one set up this week.
14:25This time facing the Bengals. Yeah. Again, facing the Bengals.
14:28From the folks that brought you Dalton Schultz against the Bengals.
14:31How about Pat Fryermuth against the Bengals? Not quite as crazy this week, though.
14:36We're not going to hit one like that every week.
14:39Look. Steelers-Bengals. My numbers keep liking the Steelers every week.
14:42We brought Steelers money on last week. I did not enjoy that ticket.
14:46Matt, it did not cash for me. It is why I lost some of that Schultz money last week.
14:52My numbers like Pittsburgh again. I'm not taking them here because I keep downgrading Aaron Rodgers.
14:57I keep downgrading this offense. And I still have Cincinnati barely favored in this game.
15:01They're minus three and a half. I can't do that.
15:04The under looks good, but the under is down three from the weekend.
15:09Six of the last eight here have been one score games.
15:12Steelers and Bengals. So I would lean Pittsburgh. I would lean under, but I don't need it.
15:17I'm going to do the tight end thing. But before I get to it, thoughts on this game.
15:23Bengals-Steelers. Do the Steelers have any life left? See, I want Bengals here just because the Bengals, their pass rush in particular has been better than people expected.
15:31Like the book on the Bengals coming in was like, hey, Burrow's going to be awesome.
15:36We don't know about the offensive line and the defense is going to suck again.
15:41And instead through two weeks, it's kind of been like, well, the offensive line is still garbage.
15:46But like they can, they can rush the passer a little bit.
15:50Like that's a thing that that can happen. And the Steelers have not shown that kind of capability.
15:56Um, you know, obviously like they faced like some tough teams in that regard, but also and like, God, that hit that hit last week by the Patriots.
16:04I thought he was going to die. Oh man.
16:07I was like that. Humans should not bend that way, especially at that age.
16:11That turned into like a 37 yard sack, by the way, because it went into like fumble loser and everyone kept trying
16:18to pick up the ball and failing to do so.
16:21It was great. Watch the replay. Yeah. Um, I just kind of look at this and I go, you know, the Bengals
16:28are going to be able to, I think when the, the trench advantage here, even with how good the Steelers, like this is a Steelers defensive line too.
16:37Maybe I'll just do the under, like maybe just like might go that route.
16:41So I'm saying, based off of the fact of just like, everybody is just going to like try and kill one another.
16:48Um, I, I cannot, the only reason I won't, I won't bet Bengals is I was just like, I am not betting an AFC North road favorite.
16:56That is no, under no circumstances, like all the division home stuff gets extrapolated.
17:01Cause if people want the bigger sample, when you break it down, it is heavily coded towards AFC North that that's the games.
17:08And it's not just the Tomlin Steelers. Like whoever is at a home dog in these spots has been profitable over whatever sample you want to go to.
17:17It just has been. These teams are hard. They hate each other.
17:20They're all really close. I cannot take a road favorite.
17:23I can't take Joe Burrow as a road favorite, but I certainly don't want to go the other way either.
17:30Um, but you do, do you have an angle on this?
17:33Cause you do think that that Bengals, uh, secondary is still able to be taken advantage of.
17:38Well, not the secondary. It's the linebackers. That's what we want is, is weak linebackers.
17:43And I think the Bengals linebackers though, they're getting a little better still.
17:47I think both sophomores, if I recall, so they're improving a bit, but as we saw last week, not enough since Dolan Schultz got 12 passes on them.
17:56Pat Fryermuth. This has actually been by a wide margin.
17:59The Bengals are his favorite opponent. The numbers don't lie on Pat Fryermuth.
18:03His three highest receptions game of his career, eight, eight, and nine.
18:06Guess who he played? The Bengals. All three of them.
18:10Six of his nine highest yardage games in his career.
18:13The Bengals. This dude loves playing the Bengals. Now look, his numbers were down last year.
18:18That's because Pittsburgh rotated through four tight ends. Now Johnnie Smith is gone.
18:22Connor Hayward is gone. So it's just Fryermuth and Darnell Washington.
18:25Washington's the ginormous blocking dude, but Muth is getting higher snap percentage.
18:29He's had five targets in each game, caught four and five of those.
18:33Even last year, even in a down year, Fryermuth's best game of the season against the Bengals.
18:38Five catches, 111 yards, and a score. And like last week, we might benefit from a receiver injury.
18:44Nico Collins last week. Michael Pittman might still be out this week.
18:47That is the security blanket receiver. If he's out, then all the more reason for Rod.
18:52You mentioned the Bengals defensive line. Can't you just see them time and again getting to Aaron Rodgers?
18:58And he doesn't want any part of that. Check it down on my tight end.
19:03Three yards, four yards. Get him out of here.
19:05Just get it to the tight end and let's go.
19:08Over three and a half receptions. Pat Fryermuth. It's minus 138.
19:12I think that feels like a full catch too low.
19:15Five is plus 155 at DraftKings if you prefer.
19:18I'm going to be a little bit pickier on the escalator this week.
19:22Not all the way on Schultz. Here's what we're going to do.
19:2570 yards. So we switched over to yards here.
19:28Is six to one. He's had five catches or more.
19:31Six times. Or sorry, 17 times in his career.
19:34Six of those have been against the Bengals. So again, his favorite team.
19:38All six of those games when he had the five catches.
19:42He also had at least 68 yards. So five catches was plus 155.
19:4670 yards is six to one. So I like that better.
19:49Two of those games had 100 yards as well.
19:52And then the last step is 70 yards, six to one.
19:55Eight receptions at plus 1160 at DraftKings. He's done that four times in his career.
20:00Guess what? Three of those came against the Bengals.
20:03So let's hope Pat enjoys playing the Bengals as much as I enjoy playing the Bengals with my tight ends.
20:09That sentence probably could have been framed better. Pat Friermuth to the moon.
20:13Do you do you find that when you get because like Bengals are number three and drop back EPA.
20:19Steelers number one. Right. Do you find that when you've got and like again, the defensive line.
20:24So there's a cycle better day dot com. That's got a trench report ranking in the ranking.
20:29And it's composite of grades across all these type of things.
20:33And that matches kind of what I found with some PFF stuff.
20:36When you've got this like really strong defensive line pass rush.
20:40Not even if it's not an advantage, but like one team is exceptional at that.
20:44Do you automatically want to look for running back tight end opportunities?
20:48Like does that lean you in that direction? Or is this specifically about the linebacker angle on this for you with the Bengals?
20:55Yeah, your idea is right here. Not necessarily automatic, but that is where my brain starts to go.
21:01It's like, OK, where are the checkdowns? Especially to if it looks like maybe a losing script.
21:06Give me some two minute drills. Give me some like, all right, it's the fourth quarter.
21:11We're down 13. It's garbage time. But let's try to see if we can move this ball on one of those like
21:1812 play 70 yard drives that the defense is happy to allow at that point because it's chewing up the clock.
21:24That's where you get those tight end props. That's where you get those running back props.
21:29And in fact, I don't know if you did this on purpose, but it's a perfect segue right into our next pick.
21:36It is, in fact, what I was transitioning to because you do have a running back targeted in a matchup versus the Seahawks.
21:43No Jaden McDaniels. Not Jaden McDaniels. That's a Minnesota Timberwolves.
21:46No Jaden McDaniels either. Yeah, no Jaden. No Jaden.
21:49This in the buckets. But you have a Washington running back that you're targeting for another prop angle this week.
21:55I am. I'm going to take Rashad White here.
21:58And look, you know, it's a good prop when I have to put it into the Google Doc as Washington running back
22:05Rashad White, just to make sure it's clear. Who is this guy?
22:09What position is he and what team is he on?
22:12Because Rashad White, probably not even necessarily owned in your fantasy league.
22:16Like Washington, Seattle. How's Washington going to score? No Jaden Daniels.
22:19Like you said, they've lost eight of their last nine when Marcus Mariota took over 25% of the snaps by an average
22:26of 13 points a game, which is what we saw last week when we took the Dallas escalator.
22:31So you get a bad offensive line for the commanders.
22:35You get all that Seattle defense up front. Mario does not move in anywhere near as well as Daniels.
22:40Never dead, but certainly not at age 33. Seahawks minus seven.
22:44Look, that feels like a free teaser leg. Minus seven on the road is not a classic Wong teaser spot.
22:50You're not supposed to tease the road favorite down.
22:53You're not supposed to do it because it's hard to win on the road in the NFL.
22:58And look, you should definitely not do it in kitchen sink week when Washington is the team you're supposed to be backing here.
23:05So I really wanted to tease this team. Come on.
23:08Seattle's going to lose to Marcus Mariota with Darnold back on the field.
23:12I want your thoughts on that in a second.
23:15Home underdogs of seven or more the first eight weeks of the season, 22 and two ATS, 91%.
23:21That would imply Washington covers here as the kitchen sink team.
23:24If they cover, it's a one score game. If it's a one score game, they can lose.
23:29That's why I'm not teasing it here. I looked at the Niners similarly.
23:33I looked at your Chiefs similarly. If it feels free, if it seems too easy, it probably is.
23:39So I feel pretty comfortable with Seattle. Before I do the Rashad White thing, what do you think on just the matchup here, Seattle, Washington?
23:47I get real itchy whenever there's backup quarterbacks. I just get real itchy.
23:51And like, it's obviously, I don't think you walk into this game.
23:55Like I was at lunch with my wife and she was like, sometimes there's like a, there's a bump when I, when a backup comes in.
24:03Cause people rally. I was like, it depends on if they believe in him or not.
24:08And I don't know how the guys are going to be really be like, yeah, Marcus Mariota who walked out on the,
24:14like, I don't know how, how that's going to go.
24:17I just don't know how that's going to, how that's going to kind of translate here.
24:22I think Seattle is an absolute monster. What was the line that you were testing for, for this season in terms of the home dogs?
24:30What was the line that you were looking at?
24:33That is home underdogs. The first eight games of the season, home underdogs of seven or more 22 and two ATS 91%.
24:40Okay. So the teaser rate on those via killersports.com, if you're a road road favorite of more than seven first eight weeks
24:47of the season, the teaser is hitting at one 26, 65 and one 66%.
24:51So we're below that kind of rate. This is where the long teaser thing gets in.
24:56But I will say like a big thing on the long teaser is that like the long teaser, you can look that
25:03up if you're wondering what it is like that.
25:05The effectiveness of that has waned considerably since 2021.
25:08So if we're no longer adhering to these, like just play the long teasers and win every week, which every pro has
25:15like very much lamented, that's no longer an effective strategy.
25:18I think that opens up the door for you to, if you, because of the matchup that you like here, I don't
25:25have like a matchup edge on this. I am very curious to know why it is that you're targeting the running back that you're going for.
25:33Yeah. So I have a little list each week that I start with that.
25:37It's like tight end playing the bangles automatically just flags like, okay, is there someone I like here?
25:43Cause if there is, that's an easy place to start in this game.
25:47Believe it or not, running back playing Seattle is a flag for receptions.
25:51Seattle allowed the second fewest fantasy points to running backs last year.
25:55They allowed the fewest running back touchdowns last year.
25:58They allowed the most running back receptions last year.
26:00Part of that is game strategy. It's the spot in the game.
26:04Seattle's ahead a lot. So the team's from behind, they're playing their pass catching back and they're throwing to him, but it's not running back yards on receiving.
26:13It's just receptions. I think it's partly by design.
26:16Mike McDonald too. I think that's not really hurting the defense.
26:19They're happy to let you throw to the running back.
26:22Here are the numbers. Last year, they allowed at least four running back catches, all but three games, at least six catches
26:29in 10 of the games, at least seven catches in almost half, eight of the games this year already.
26:35Five running back catches week one, five running back catches in week two.
26:39So I think it's just a Mike McDonald thing.
26:42I'm going to stick with it. If we like Seattle here, that should mean a losing game script for Washington.
26:48So we saw that last week. Jacory Krosky-Mirrett. He's the more between the tackles guy.
26:52Rashad White ended up out snapping him by 11 snaps last week.
26:56He had almost 60% of the snaps between them.
26:59He had 23 routes run and six targets. Only four routes, one target for JCM.
27:04So this is the guy that's going to play more when they're trailing in the game, which is probably what we should expect here.
27:11Krosky-Mirrett had only four touches in the second half, none in the last 19 minutes.
27:16Rashad White is the pass catcher here. That's always been his best role.
27:20Over two and a half catches is plus 130.
27:22He's had three catches or more in 66% of his games in his career with at least 50% snap rate.
27:29I think the line should be four. He's hit that in 19 of those games, almost half of them.
27:35That is plus 350. That's what I think the line should be.
27:38And we're going all the way on this escalator, which for White is up to six catches.
27:44So five catches is plus 750. He's hit that in a third of his games with 50% snap rate.
27:49Six catches is 13 to one. He's done that nine times in his career shop around on this.
27:55There might even be better lines out there. Hit me on Twitter.
27:59If you find a better line, it's not up at some books yet.
28:03So Rashad White, not a big name. I think if you were playing fantasy, this might be a streaming option for you too.
28:10And like a PPR league, I think he's going to catch a lot of passes this week.
28:15So Rashad White facing Seattle, take the running back receptions.
28:18I love this. Uh, I love this, uh, a great deal in part because the Seahawks are running, they're running, uh, too
28:25deep safety at the highest rate in the league so far through the first two weeks of the season.
28:31And that's just, you're always shutting down the explosive plays.
28:34They've got such, they get past rush, like they get past rush, their cornerbacks don't get beat and they've got safety top over the hill.
28:42So what's left running backs. That's it. Yep. I'm totally with you on this.
28:46Seattle, you know, in this game, if we don't beat ourselves, we are not losing this game.
28:51As long as you take away the deep stuff, check it down, do your thing, Washington.
28:56You're not going to matriculate up and down the field, uh, matriculate up and down the field.
29:02You're not going to beat us that way. So I like Rashad White.
29:06Yeah, that's great. Great angle on that one. I am all the way in on that one.
29:11Okay. You and I and Raheem Palmer from the ringer gambling show have been talking about this one.
29:17And I think it's really interesting. Uh, and this is like getting to be, I think a little bit of like a
29:23smart person angle in football this week, the question are the Raiders maybe good and you have an angle on it.
29:30Yeah. So we're going to do a Raiders saints and is it, are the Raiders maybe good?
29:35And also are the saints maybe definitely bad in the first quarter?
29:39Because we had this last week and we hit you with the top off the top with it.
29:44The saints so far this season trail, the lions seven, nothing end of the first quarter and halftime.
29:50They trailed the Ravens seven, nothing end of the first quarter, 14, six and halftime.
29:55We cashed. We're out. They got the comeback. We didn't really care because we already had our money since the start of last season.
30:02The saints are two and 17 in the first quarter against the spread two and 17, Matt.
30:07They have not won a single first quarter. They tied in three of them.
30:12They lost 16 other ones. And guess what? The saints are favored in this game.
30:16That means the saints are favored in the first quarter because that's how lines work.
30:21So I don't really know what I think about the Raiders and the saints, to be honest, I was very down on the Raiders defense.
30:29I had them projected 31st defensively. I had Rob Leonard, their new play caller dead last in my play caller rankings.
30:35He's been really good so far. He's got a great history with the defensive line, which is playing really well.
30:41They're the number eight DVOA defense. It's not a whole lot.
30:45DVOA means much after two weeks, but rather be eighth than 24th.
30:49That's what the saints are. They've had the worst run defense in the league.
30:53So full game trends, kind of like the saints here.
30:56There's some similar warnings about the Raiders. Like I said, with the Vikings, we know this team is probably not going 17 and 0, right?
31:04They're not that good. So I'm going to stick to the first quarter.
31:08What happens in the first quarter? Why do I like first quarter stuff?
31:12That's where the scripted plays happen. Guess who's good at scripting stuff?
31:16Quint Kubiak and Kirk Cousins. That is guys that want to live in the scripted world.
31:21That's where they're built to shine. Kubiak lost the first quarter four times out of 20 games with Seattle's offense last year, including the playoffs.
31:28So that's a lot of tough opponents. He only lost four first quarters.
31:32He has not lost a first quarter this year.
31:35The Raiders led both games at the half so far, including last year.
31:39Kubiak's offense played these saints in week three. It was 21-0.
31:43End of the first quarter, 38-6 at halftime. Look, the Raiders are not the Seahawks.
31:47And there are some ties in there. There are a bunch of Kubiak ties.
31:52So it's going to get a little tricky. Here's the escalator.
31:55Raiders first quarter plus a half at DraftKings. That's minus 125.
31:58Here's what that means. Plus a half means we could play the money line.
32:03That's plus 125, not minus 125. You play the money line.
32:06You tie at the end of the first quarter.
32:09Then we get a refund. I want to win.
32:12So I'm going to pay a little extra. Plus a half, you tie, we cash.
32:16So that's why I'm playing the first quarter plus a half.
32:20Now, give me Raiders first quarter minus a half.
32:23Now it's the flip side of that. Now tie, you lose.
32:26But now we're at plus 190. So that's why this is an escalator for basically getting two to one on the win happening in the first quarter.
32:34And if it goes well, get a touchdown early.
32:37Keep the Saints off the board. Raiders first quarter minus six and a half at DraftKings is plus 450.
32:43That has hit in three of the four first quarters between these teams so far.
32:48So I know it's a bit confusing because we're not used to these lines in the first quarter.
32:53And the plus a half, minus a half. Watch the app on the details.
32:58Raiders first quarter against the Saints. That's the angle.
33:00So why not minus two and a half? I just didn't consider that one.
33:05I just if you're going to do it, wouldn't you want to hit the minus two and a half for the field
33:12goal lead if this is three to nothing at the end of the first?
33:16Yeah, I don't have a ton of confidence in my read on either of these teams.
33:21So what I would say is if I would play either the two and a half or the six and a half,
33:28I don't want to play both of those because I don't want to go all in on the Raiders.
33:34I'm not there yet with this team and I'm not positive my opinion of the Saints either.
33:39I lean Raiders here. But I would say at least get the first quarter tie, at least win the first quarter.
33:45I see you're saying why not minus two and a half, maybe instead of the minus a half?
33:51Because if you're going to win the first quarter, why not just win by three?
33:56Right. You could win like seven, six. That's maybe the only other way you cash that one.
34:01Yeah, you build in. OK, I don't mind if you have instead of the minus a half that I can live with
34:08losing a seven, six to the Saints. I mean, either that or just add it on there.
34:13I just think it's worth at least considering the possibility for it because it's I mean, it's an escalator.
34:19And it seems to me the next logical step is is the three.
34:23It's a good point. OK, before we get to more bets from Brandon, here's a quick word from our sponsor, DraftKings.

36:15Hey, this is James from Raiders of the Lost Podcast.
36:18We've learned over and over on our show, while talking to people in entertainment, that success comes when you bet on yourself.
36:25How many times have we talked to an actor who took a big risk with a challenging role because they believed they could pull it off?
36:33Well, it's a lot easier to take those risks when you've got the practical stuff covered.
36:38And that's what Geico does so well. Imagine an actor driving to set to film the scene that's going to win them an Oscar.
36:45They're focusing on the scene, not on dealing with managing an insurance claim.
36:49Because Geico is handling that. And they don't even expect a shout-out in the acceptance speech.
36:54Geico provides peace of mind and they'll do the same for you.
36:58Maybe it's not an Oscar-winning performance. Maybe it's building a career, starting the business you've dreamed about, or just taking care of your family.

37:43I like it. It's playful. Keep it simple, smarty pants.
37:46Your sandboxes are the best. That's why I want you involved.
37:50All right, back here with Brandon Anderson. We've got more bets coming up for you.
37:54You've got some simple stuff that you want to hit, including, well, those hard luck bears.
37:59Although it's not as hard luck as we thought it might be.
38:03Uh, and you do have a play this week on that game.
38:07Yeah, I'm just going to take the bears. Bears plus five at one book, four and a half if you need it.
38:13Monday night against the Eagles. Case Keenum against the Eagles.
38:17What could possibly go wrong? For those of you wondering what I mean by that.
38:21Case Keenum led my Minnesota Vikings into Philly for the NFC championship game and ended this season 38-7 losers as favorites.
38:28So that's what could go wrong. It looks like Keenum.
38:31Caleb Williams is not officially out. Tyson Bajan is not officially out, but it certainly looks that way.
38:36Here's how the line's gone because of that. The bears were this weekend minus one and a half into Sunday.
38:43Caleb got hurt. They reopened Eagles minus three and a half.
38:46So five point move for Caleb Williams. Pretty aggressive.
38:49Then Caleb goes out and Bajan suddenly gets hurt.
38:52And now we've gone from three and a half to four and a half or five.
38:56Now we're at an entire touchdown of value from Caleb Williams to Case Keenum.
39:01And I just think that that is too much.
39:04We're also, the total went from 47 and a half to 44 and a half when Caleb was out.
39:10Now 41 and a half with Keenum. So we're detracting an entire touchdown worth of value for Case Keenum.
39:15For me, you know, I like to just ignore the quarterback when it's convenient, but this is not about Keenum.
39:22This is about Ben Johnson. And this is about Philadelphia.
39:25The Eagles are coming off a super long game against Tennessee in the like 115 degree weather.
39:30I think it's a tired team. And for all the angst about the Bears defense, and I know how flawed the stat is after two weeks.
39:38Do you know that the Bears are only four spots behind the Eagles in defensive DVOA?
39:43That's a bit of a lie because we had the rainy game last week, but not great for the Eagles defense.
39:50Their defense has been kind of mid so far.
39:52The front hasn't been great. The safeties have been a weak spot.
39:56This team almost lost to Washington and Tennessee, both games.
39:59I think the Bears are better in the trenches.
40:02I think the Bears have the better offensive line right now than the Eagles.
40:06The Eagles are moving parts. Now Dallas Goddard is out.
40:09You can't bring much diversity to the game. I prefer the Bears offense with Keenum to the Eagles offense the way things are right now.
40:17That's how my numbers have it. And it's actually not super close offensively.
40:21Chicago ran all over the Eagles on Black Friday when they played last year.
40:25Swift and Menungay, both 125 yards. They did get lit up by A.J.
40:29Brown. Man coverage got shredded. 10 catches, two scores, 132 yards.
40:33He gone. No A.J. Brown anymore. It's not Devontae Smith's game.
40:36I just can't get to where the Eagles are a touchdown or better favorite on a neutral.
40:42That's what this line is telling us. And we haven't seen Ben Johnson with a backup quarterback.
40:47I'm kind of intrigued. What's he going to draw up here for the Bears?
40:51We have seen as an underdog Ben Johnson is 67% ATS and against teams over 500, also 67% ATS.
40:57Not a lot of sample there yet, but I like where we're starting.
41:01Next week, Matt, on our future show with Kravitz.
41:04Actually, I think perhaps with you next week, I will be talking about the 3-0 teams.
41:09That's Tuesday. I probably won't be waiting until Monday night to get my 3-0 prep started because I don't think we're going
41:16to get another one of those teams in there.
41:18Give me the Bears plus five on Monday night.
41:21Did you happen to look at what Case Keenum's ATS record is?
41:25I don't think I'd like to know that number, Matt Moore.
41:28You'd be surprised. This is via Killer Sports. Case Keenum, as a home dog, is 11-4.
41:33Okay. ATS, 73%. We'll take it. Let's do it.
41:36Case Keenum, baby. Okay, you've got an anytime touchdown play.
41:39You can catch the full touchdown show with Jill Gallant on Fridays.
41:43But you've got a play in for the Bills game you want to get in on.
41:48Yeah, I'm going to play a Marion Hampton here.
41:51So this is a kitchen sink spot for the Chargers.
41:54They're the 0-2 team. It's not a great kitchen sink spot.
41:57This is my way of playing it creatively. This is what happens.
42:01I'm like, I kind of like this idea, but I want to figure out a better way to bet it.
42:07So the Bills, they're coming in on extra rest.
42:10Their offense is just destroying worlds right now. Chargers defense looks pretty bad.
42:14It's another one where it's like, feels like a free teaser.
42:17I don't know. I'd be real careful this week.
42:20There are a lot of free looking teasers and money lines out there.
42:24It's not how football usually goes, especially in week three.
42:27I think it's the second upsettiest week of the year.
42:30We talked on the future show this week about the Bills offense, but also defensively.
42:35They've allowed 30 points in both games. There are only three teams in history, now four, that have allowed 62 points or more in a 2-0 start.
42:43All three of those teams previously finished with a top two offense.
42:47They all had a guy who won MVP and offensive player of the year.
42:51I just bet Josh Allen 50-1 for offensive player of the year this week.
42:56They also all lost in the playoffs, allowing a 30 points or more game.
43:00I don't know, Matt, if the Chargers are going to score 30, but I do know this.
43:05If they score, I think it's going to be O'Marion Hampton.
43:09So I'm going to take his touchdown, minus 115 at DraftKings.
43:12He is this week right now outside the top 10 in touchdown odds.
43:16I think we are getting a bit of a discount here with all the hatred toward the Chargers.
43:22Deservedly so. They've been awful. Hampton, despite how bad they've been, 14 points each game.
43:26He's scored a touchdown in both of the games.
43:29He's got two of their four touchdowns. He's now had a touchdown seven of his last nine games for the Chargers, 78%.
43:36The Bills actually allowed the most rushing touchdowns to running backs last year.
43:4018, more than one per game. Last year in Mike McDaniel's offense, A-chan had 12 touchdowns last year and the year before.
43:47He had 11 the year before that because Raheem Mostert had 21.
43:51You'll want touchdowns from your running backs in the McDaniel system.
43:54The rest hasn't gone well yet, but it's working for a Marion Hampton.
43:58So minus 115, basically just a standard line. And just a little nibble on a multi-touchdown game.
44:03He's not yet done that in his career. So I'm not going to go too crazy with that.
44:09But the Bills did allow six multi-touchdown games to running backs last year.
44:13It's five to one at DraftKings. Maybe this will be his first for Marion Hampton.
44:18We'll come back to that Chargers game in a little bit.
44:21Speaking of the Chargers, everyone was kind of wondering after week one, hey, are the Chargers just terrible or are the Cardinals good?
44:28And then week two happened and we got pretty good answers on both of those, which leads into your first alt play long shot of the week.
44:37You are going in on the Niners versus the Cardinals.
44:40I am. Yeah, I think we got our answer last week.
44:43And I don't think the book's totally adjusted for it.
44:46Yeah, with the Cardinals. So this line was before the season, 49ers, 11 and a half.
44:51It's now eight and a half. Why? Why is it down three points two weeks later?
44:56We know what Arizona did week one. We know what they did last week.
45:00They lost 31 to seven. So Matt, you're ready for this?
45:04Seattle last week was minus four at Arizona. If you were to line flip that and play in Seattle, that means that
45:11Seattle at home against Arizona would be at least minus eight with Drew Locke last week, remember?
45:16So who's better right now? The 49ers healthy, as healthy as they get, or the Drew Locke Seahawks.
45:21Why is this price the same as what Seattle just was?
45:25I finally get it, Matt. I finally get the line flip.
45:28These teams have played in the last five years, 10 times, obviously.
45:32Sweep every year. Shanahan wins. Here are the winning margin.
45:351.1 time. 16, 19, 19, 25, and 28. He ain't messing around with this Cardinals defense.
45:40The offense is rolling in San Fran against Miami last week.
45:43I would know. I played Miami. It didn't go great.
45:47Five touchdowns on the first five drives. Over 10 yards of play for this offense.
45:51They killed the Rams. The Cardinals are missing three of their top four corners.
45:56That is not the opponent you want to play.
45:58The Niners are a passing team now. This is not a McCaffrey team anymore.
46:03It's a McCaffrey receiving team. I think the Niners pass all over them.
46:07Now here's a little lesson on the line play.
46:10It was 11.5. It's now 8.5. I thought 11.5 was probably right.
46:13I make it 12.5 myself. Trends like Arizona here.
46:16It's a buy low, sell high. It's like an obvious spot for that.
46:20If you like the Niners, I think you like them to win big.
46:24So we don't have to play the 8.5. We don't have to play the line the books gave us.
46:30Books give us every line. We can pick any line we play now.
46:34The lines are sharp. Let's find our own advantage.
46:37So I'm going to take the Niners. We'll get to our contest shortly.
46:41I'll take the 8.5 there. It's fine. But I'm not playing the 8.5.
46:45I'm just playing alts here. Niners 12.5 at plus 160.
46:48Niners 18.5 at 3-1. Niners 23.5 at 6-1. I think if you like the Niners, you like them to win big.
46:54They cover that line. Their wins are by 20 and 22 this season.
46:58The Cardinals just lost by 24. If you like them, you should love them.
47:03I love the Niners this week. 100% with you on this.
47:06I am more than you. You know me. I'm usually like the teams that look good are not that good.
47:12And the teams look terrible are not that terrible.
47:15This year. I'm like, no, the teams look good are awesome.
47:19But the teams look good are just like good teams.
47:22Okay. You have once again elected for this very narrow slice of pie on an AFC South matchup.
47:27I feel like you ran this back last week.
47:30Or maybe in week one. Texans Indy. I've talked a lot about this game with you.
47:35I've talked a lot about the game with Rob.
47:38We'll get to my thoughts on it later. But you are playing the Texans to win.
47:43But under very specific circumstances. I'm going to take the Texans to win by one score in this game.
47:49So it's the same game parlay. It's a Texans money line.
47:52And it's Colts plus seven and a half. You put those together.
47:56That's the bet. It is plus 260. So look.
47:59I still believe in the Texans. We talked about both of these teams a lot on the Tuesday podcast.
48:05Go back and listen to the Futures podcast. Colts and Texans both 0-2.
48:09It's not a kitchen sink because they're both facing each other.
48:12I actually bet, Matt, Colts to make the playoffs.
48:1521%. I thought is a good value pickup here.
48:18Even though I think Houston wins this game. So both these teams are missing the star receiver.
48:23Alec Pierce. Big loss for Indy. No receiver on the Colts can really stretch this defense or win man-to-man.
48:29That cuts out the explosives. That's what's been killing Houston.
48:32No Nico Collins. Not for sure yet. But looks likely he kills Indianapolis.
48:36Last four games against them, 556 yards. He kills the Colts.
48:39He is a big loss here too. But I think you trust the Texans defense here.
48:44The passing defense has been vulnerable. The explosives are vulnerable.
48:47That's not the Colts. They want to run the ball.
48:50Jonathan Taylor last year against the Texans. 35 carries, 111 yards in two games.
48:553.2 yards a carry. You're going to live with that as Houston.
48:58If that's all they can do. The Colts coming off a long overtime game.
49:03A lot of defense on the field the last couple weeks.
49:06A lot of yards given up the last couple weeks.
49:09I think even the Texans can find some offense.
49:12Here's this angle specifically. The Texans have won five in a row against the Colts.
49:17All by one score. In fact, the last 11 wins the Texans have against the Colts are all by one score.
49:23They never dominate this team. They do beat them a lot.
49:27Average margin of victory just 3.8 in that stretch.
49:29So my numbers prefer the Colts here. I'm going against my numbers.
49:33I'm going against my trends. And if I'm doing that, I got to make it worth my while.
49:39So give me the Texans money line and the Colts plus seven and a half.
49:43Texans to win by one score. It's plus 260.
49:46This seems very likely. This seems I like this.
49:49The script seems very it is. It's going to be weird if this winds up being like some sort of like shootout.
49:56Like, I kind of wonder if I'm going to be on the under in this one just because the under has taken
50:03a lot of money this week and dropped a couple points.
50:06But I like the under too. Yeah, because it's just like, okay, the Texans like everyone's everyone is able to move the
50:13ball on the Colts, even though they face two really good offenses.
50:17So maybe that's because they were playing the Colts.
50:19Can the Texans do that? And then on the other side, I think it's this Texans defense has to be good.
50:26And like you mentioned, like the Colts don't want to air it out.
50:30Right. So I totally agree with you. I wonder like.
50:33So do you think, especially with the steam that adding the under to this as a correlated, okay, it's gonna be an ugly game.
50:40Texans win under seven. And, but the unders move too much to throw this in and you just don't want to mess with the third.
50:48Yeah, you know how I am. I would lean under here, but when the, when the, when I get there after it's
50:55already moved off a couple of points, I'm pretty hesitant to chase the steam at that point.
51:00So I don't have the numbers on that part.
51:03I'll leave the total out, but I don't mind it.
51:06That's where my brain would be thinking as well.
51:09Okay. Last one before we get to our picks for the contest and the four square parlay of the week is going
51:16to be a running back angle versus the 27th ranked run defense in the NFL.
51:20According to better days, Trent report, the Dallas Cowboys, you think Derek Henry is going to have himself a day.
51:27I do. And look, I really wanted the Ravens in the spot.
51:30Uh, I'm not really that daunted by the late collapse against the saints.
51:34That's just the Ravens for better and worse. Usually better.
51:37That's what the Ravens do. I think they're the better team here in Brazil.
51:42That's where this game is at Declan Doyle offensively.
51:45These guys are rolling even with only one half from Zay flowers.
51:48The Ravens offense looks great defense for the Cowboys.
51:51The clear weak link here, especially against the run.
51:54Like you said, the Cowboys are the number one rushing offense by DVOA so far, including lots more under center this year.
52:01You're hearing a lot about that on broadcast. A lot of teams going more under center under center means you hand the
52:08ball off to a running back with a bit of a head start.
52:12He's already running. It's better for running. That's why under center helps a lot.
52:16And Derek Henry has been better than ever. If you remember, Henry gets better late in the season.
52:21September is his bad month and he's averaging right now 5.3 yards a carry with four touchdowns in two games, 212 yards so far.
52:29You want the favorite in international games. As long as the Jaguars aren't playing, you usually want the favorite.
52:35I wanted Ravens minus three, but as we record, it's three and a half.
52:39We lost the key number. We don't know if Zay Flowers is going to play.
52:44We don't know if Ronnie Stanley or Troy Hendrickson will play.
52:47And there's just the weirdness of Brazil. They're playing at the Maracana.
52:51We don't know how the footing will be there.
52:54It's been kind of messy in Brazil. So here's what I do when I like the Ravens, but don't like the price.
53:01I played Derek Henry because Derek Henry is a proxy for a Ravens money line.
53:05We saw in week one, Dallas run defense. You talked about it.
53:09They got gashed, gashed by the Giants. The Giants did anything they wanted and then couldn't do nothing against the Rams.
53:15So that should tell you how the Cowboys run defense says when the Ravens win, Derek Henry has a big game.
53:22Here are the numbers. He's got 21 wins with the Ravens.
53:25He's at a hundred yards in 67% of those wins.
53:28He's had at least a touchdown in 67% of those wins.
53:32So when the Ravens win, Derek Henry wins. That is a clear correlation.
53:36He's had a hundred yards and a score in a win 12 times with the Ravens out of those 21 wins.
53:42That's 57% of their wins. So if you like the Ravens to win, you like Henry to have a big game.
53:49That's the play. We're going to take three parts to the parlay here.
53:53Henry, a hundred rushing yards, Henry for a touchdown, Ravens money line.
53:57Those three together are plus 249. That's 29% implied.
53:59We're getting basically two X. If you think the Ravens win to play the Derek Henry version of instead.
54:05So a hundred yards and a score in a win.
54:08And Derek Henry has an NFL record, 26 games with a hundred yards and multiple touchdowns, including the last time he played Dallas in week three.
54:16What do you know? 25 carries 151 yards and two scores.
54:20So that's the super escalator here. Derek Henry, multiple touchdowns, two plus hundred yards rushing in a win that has hit 43% of his Ravens wins.
54:28We get it at plus 540, which is 16% implied.
54:31This has a pretty huge margin in our favor.
54:34If you like the Ravens, if you don't like them, you should not play this angle.
54:39He did not hit this last week. They lost last week.
54:42I don't know if it's chicken or egg. I just know they're correlated.
54:46We're going to Brazil. Tractorcito escaravillante. So you call the Derek Henry escalator in Brazil.
54:51Let's go. Nice. Nicely done. I am obligated by the laws of media, of football media nature to ask you, what do
54:58you think about the field conditions and the impact on this bet?
55:01Since everyone is complaining about this. I mean, I think it's slick and we don't really know, but if it's going to
55:08be slick, you'd like to be the guys running the football down the throat of the other team.
55:14And you'd like to be Derek Henry, just bowling dudes over that donut footing.
55:18So I don't mind that on this angle. Hopefully everybody stays healthy in that game.
55:23Cowboys, 29th in rush stuff rate, 24th in heavy box percentage on defense.
55:27So they do not stack the box, which, hey, that's going to go up, but they're not used to playing that way.
55:34That's not how they've been schemed to play. This is an exception to the rule.
55:38Tasty stuff there on Derek Henry. Two touchdowns and a win plus 540.
55:42That's pretty tasty. Brandon. Now it's time for our four square parlay presented by DraftKings Sportsbook.
55:47I'm not trying to be a square. We can play a game.
55:51You pass the time. Nobody even plays four square anymore.
55:54We are in the DraftKings pick them contest. And last week, Brandon goes three and two.
55:59My season is over because I went two and three.
56:02And in these contests, if you go two and three one week, you're pretty much screwed.
56:07Was not happy about it. I am very, I'm very disappointed.
56:11I like, like, and honestly, it's on me. Like the Falcons one was the one where I was just like, okay, I was just wrong.
56:18Like I was just down there. Brandon's still doing well.
56:21Three and two is a, is that's how you keep pace here.
56:25Uh, also Brandon takes because we did, we tied in week one.
56:29Brandon takes the skin. So he's up two Oh on the season, which he wants to make sure that we know here,
56:36even though I expect him to absolutely obliterate me in the skins contest over the course of it.
56:41For the parlay, what we do is I give Brandon six to seven sides that I like for the week.
56:47Those will be amongst the ones that I will choose from my five.
56:51And then Brandon will select the four that he likes the best and we parlay them, but you can get plus 1250 at DraftKings Sportsbook.
56:59My menu for this week, Indianapolis plus one and a half, because you will never, never get me off the Colts ever.
57:06I get, um, home division dog. I, I think the Colts are good and I don't think the Texans are, uh, I
57:13like Colts plus one and a half here. I do not think that this should be plus one and a half.
57:19I think this should be Colts minus one and a half.
57:23Um, this is basically, it's not hugely off, but I like it enough to play it.
57:28Jets plus six and a half. I'd look until the market adjusts on, on, on the jets.
57:33I'm going to keep rolling into this situation. Chargers plus seven and a half.
57:37There is no better example of everyone lauding like, Oh, the bills look at them and what they did to the lions.
57:44They're so amazing. Oh, the chargers are the worst team ever.
57:48They are such a, they've been clown more than any other franchise.
57:51That's always the team that I want to be on, especially going into kitchen sink week.
57:56Niners minus eight and a half. All the reasons that Brandon's already talked about Baltimore minus three and a half.
58:02I'm not scared of the hook. I don't worry about this.
58:06I do not think that this line should be, I think this should be four, four and a half Raiders plus three
58:13because of all the stuff we kind of talked about and the bears plus four and a half.
58:18Those are my picks for, uh, the four square parlay.
58:21Brandon of those choices, Colts, jets, chargers, niners, Ravens, Raiders, and your bears.
58:25What are the four that you like for the parlay?
58:28Yeah. So obviously not taking the Colts, but thank you for giving me that option right off the top.
58:34Give me the niners. Give me the bears. Those are easy.
58:38We talked about those already. Give me the Ravens.
58:41I'll swallow the hook three and a half. This is my favorite game to watch.
58:45I want some action on it. So I won't bet the three and a half.
58:50I'll take them in this parlay here though. And then I don't want to step in front of the bills train right now.
58:57I don't need chargers in my life right now.
59:00I don't trust Raiders over the full game. That's why I played the first quarter.
59:04So give me the jets plus six and a half.
59:08My numbers have wanted me to bet the jets all three games this year.
59:12I've not bet the jets. Any of the three games this year, they look pretty good.
59:17They look kind of buttoned up. Like I was looking up playoff odds.
59:21I think that they could surprisingly be in the mix here.
59:24So give me the Niners, Bears, Ravens, and jets at plus 1250 for this week's DraftKings four square parlay.
59:30Like it. Excellent. Okay. For the contest, it's going to be my, I'm just going to like roll out with the.
59:37Colts jets. I am going to take the chargers.
59:39Look, I just, I think this is a really good spot for the chargers.
59:44Colts. I might be walking into it. I get that.
59:47I, and everybody's like, but the defense, the defense, I'm just like, I don't know, man, they played the Ravens and, and
59:54the chiefs when they, because the chiefs are now running the ball, the Colts in that game went to one single high safety.
60:01If you don't do this stupid defense that takes away all the fun, then Patrick Mahomes is going to light you up.
60:08That's how it goes. So yeah, they got beat on the deep plays because Kenneth Walker is that dude.
60:14I think this is a really good spot. I do not, I'm not scared of the, I'm not scared of the Texans rushing attack.
60:21Not that is a thing. I'm not scared. Yeah.
60:24So they, they can, they can play conservative and contain the Texans offense, which I think gives them a chance in the,
60:31in a low total game that we talked about probably under, um, I'll play Niners and I'll play Ravens.
60:36And those would be my five. What are your contest plays for this week?
60:41Say your five again, all together. Colts jets, chargers, Niners, Ravens.
60:44All right. So I think we only, uh, we'll share two of these.
60:48So I'm going to take the Niners. I will take the Ravens.
60:52This contest odds lock on draft Kings at two and a half.
60:56Oh yeah. Sorry. The odds lock Wednesday morning. We get Ravens minus two and a half here.
61:01So to, to be clear on these contest picks, these are for contests.
61:05These are not picks added on 10 more at the end of the podcast.
61:09These are not official picks. If I want an official, we'd give them out earlier.
61:14This is our game theory and strategy and all that with these, but these are the angles we like.
61:20So Niners minus eight and a half Ravens minus two and a half.
61:24Thank you for that one. I'll take the bears plus four and a half is where we get.
61:29I'll take the Buccaneers two and a half. I gave those out earlier.
61:34And then my last cut for the podcast, I really wanted to take the Titans.
61:38They're my second favorite, uh, kitchen sink spot this week.
61:41I think giants Island is gone and washed. I think Jamis might be gone and washed.
61:46He's been terrible as a favorite, terrible and coin flip games.
61:50And thank you again in the contest. We're getting four points of value because apparently this one locked in at Titans plus six and a half.
61:58I wanted the three. I was going to give it out.
62:01I'm not doing it because it's at two and a half.
62:05I don't need that in my life. I'll take it at six and a half.
62:09So Niners bears box Ravens and Titans are my contest picks.
62:13It's yeah. Just look for contest play. I do think it's important.
62:16You're getting the CLV and longterm. If you play these contests over and over and over again, it is the same as
62:23like the reason that we value CLV. Like the reason you've got you, if you're playing contests over and over again, the
62:30strategy I think doesn't change here because until you're late in the season and you're competing and you're trying to do, you're
62:37trying to vary up your strategy right now. Just take the CLV.
62:40I think that that's absolutely smart. No, I don't want it.
62:44Cause I think that I think James Winston is going to go in there and do the thing.
62:49Cause I don't, I think that the, I think that Titans are way, way trash.
62:54That's your four square parlay though. For this week is going to be bears plus four and a half Niners minus eight
63:01and a half Ravens minus three and a half and jets plus six and a half for the four square parlay.
63:07You want to tail these over draft Kings because all customers get a profit boost every game day in the month of September.
63:15Don't forget to download the draft King sports app and use promo code action network.
63:19When you sign up draft Kings, the crown is yours.
63:22Let's look ahead. Just give it a shot. How about next week?
63:26You've been kind of like tentative a little bit on some of these look ahead lines a little bit.
63:32You bought out of the look ahead for this week.
63:35Uh, but you're going this week. You are very confident you're going and tying it into a mind shaft.
63:41Uh, you were going to look to the lone star showdown next week with Texans against Cowboys.
63:46I've got two look aheads cause we had no mind shaft earlier.
63:50So I give you a bonus look ahead. So the first one is not that first one, just the standard.
63:56Give me the Texans minus two and a half against the Cowboys.
64:00Pretty fun. Little Texas rivalry. Houston actually beat Dallas and it's first ever franchise game back in 2002.
64:05Since 2010, these teams have played four times, three points, three points and four points.
64:10And then a huge Texans win the most recent one.
64:13So Houston likes this matchup here. It's a big one for them.
64:17You know, it's like little brother wants to beat big brother in the matchup.
64:21Dallas. Of course, we just talked about they're coming back from Brazil.
64:25You know, I like to fade the teams come on international with no rest.
64:29I think their defense could get roasted this weekend.
64:32We like the Ravens. I think the Texans either restore faith beating Indianapolis or they're playing for their season at 0 and
64:393, a team that everyone thinks should make the playoffs.
64:42So either way, I'm going to feel okay about this.
64:45You don't have to like Houston this week to like them in the spot for next week.
64:50Give me Will Anderson. Give me Daniil Hunter. Dallas's offensive line has not been great.
64:55Particularly their tackles are not good at pass protection.
64:58That edge rush is going to get to them.
65:01And I know I don't have to tell you to fade Dak Prescott against an elite defense.
65:06I know you're ready to do that. We've watched that every Sunday afternoon for years now, much as I like Dak Prescott.
65:13I make this minus 3 even without Nico Collins.
65:15I think he's back for this game. So I like it even more.
65:19Cowboys defense is so bad. Even the Texans are going to score some points.
65:24So give me the minus 2.5 below the key number.
65:27I think it'll get to 3 and beyond for the Texans.
65:30Then for your mineshaft play, a truly disgusting game with a disgusting total that you don't think is nearly low enough.
65:37Yeah, we're going Thursday night for some gross Thursday night football.
65:40Steelers-Browns under 38.5 at DraftKings. The only book with this line right now.
65:44Look, Steelers and Browns. We have maybe the worst quarterback in the league right now.
65:49And Deshaun Watson. What a matchup we've got in this game.
65:52Yeah, that's how far Aaron Rodgers has fallen right now.
65:55That's how bad it's gotten. I don't need to tell you why you're betting under.
66:00Steelers-Browns. That's the case. You know you want the under in this game.
66:04You don't want anything else in this game. Here's the numbers.
66:08The last 10 times these teams have played, average total 35.9.
66:11Nobody scores in Steelers-Browns. It doesn't matter what year it is.
66:14In those 10 games, no team has hit 30.
66:17No total has hit 50. It's 2026, Matt. Teams are supposed to score points.
66:21No one told the Steelers and the Browns. They're both in ugly low totals this week.
66:26This is only going one direction. And I love, love my ugly Thursday unders.
66:31Thursday totals 40 or below since 2010. 21 and 9 to the under.
66:3570%. Thursday night unders from 37 to 40 at the total, which this one is.
66:3923, 5 and 1 to the under. 82% hit rate to the under by 9 points a game.
66:45It's not even close. They're going under 38.5 in 86% of those.
66:49All but 4 in our system. Median total, 29.
66:52Average total, 29. You just can't go low enough on these short week Thursday night games where, look, that same frame, 37 to 40 points.
66:59If you look at everything but Thursday night, every other game, the under is 47%.
67:04The under on Thursday night in that spot is 82%.
67:07That is the swing difference on why are we playing on Thursday night?
67:11We're tired. We're not any good at offense anyways.
67:14And now you gave us no practice and we're supposed to score in the Steelers defense?
67:19That's just not happening. So I can't give you the mineshaft right now.
67:23There are no lines for it yet. I'm preparing you to bet the mineshaft when they reopen Sunday night.
67:29Here's what you want. Down the mineshaft on totals, 37, 33, 30.
67:32Those are the key numbers usually. These teams in the last five years played a game that finished with 31 points with 25, 23, 19.
67:40And two of those were last year. We just watched Aaron Rodgers.
67:44Hopefully you didn't watch Aaron Rodgers play some garbage games against the Browns.
67:48So under 33 and a half, that's the first mineshaft.
67:5169% hit rate in that Thursday, 37 to 40 range.
67:54Under 30 and a half has hit over half of those.
67:58We're taking for the look ahead under 38 and a half.
68:01It's already 37 and a half everywhere else. It's only going one direction.
68:05Give me the garbage, ugly, awful Steelers Browns Thursday night under.
68:08Just imagine sitting back in your chair and sipping a cold one and celebrating every time that there's a missed field goal
68:15and an arm punt or a fumble when they're driving in the red zone.
68:20Like it's just, yeah. You know, it's Thursday night.
68:22You know, you're I know you think you're going to make plans.
68:26You're watching this game. You're watching the game. You're paying attention to this game.
68:30You may as well root for it to be as awful as you'll feel watching the game.
