Important fantasy takeaways from last night’s preseason action (Friday 8/21): + Omar Cooper back to starting slot, still clearly behind AD Mitchell it appears. Expecting a lot of 2TE sets w/ Sadiq and Mason Taylor too + Jaylen Warren starts but he and Rico split work evenly, would expect something similar in season to start (Warren > Rico for me) + Jonathon Brooks remains workhorse w/o Chuba, would expect 1A/1B in favor of Chuba to start year but that's just me guessing + Tet McMillan gets sl...
Jets film review with Geno: Moved Mason Taylor around (inline, slot, backfield) a lot - he’s just diverse and I still believe presents a threat to Sadiq getting full playing time this season 2WR sets were mainly AD Mitchell and Garrett Wilson Omar Cooper primarily played in the slot - he didn’t look super lost from my perspective Without Breece or ID, Braelon got all the work as expected Personnel was pretty even with 12 and 11 so 2WR / 2TE sets seem prominent

Looks like Omar Cooper Jr. was out with the starting Jets offense for the first two plays of this preseason game. Off the field for the third, fourth and fifth snap, all of which came out of a two WR look. Mason Taylor was the move TE and Jeremy Ruckert the in-line. The next snap was out of a spread look on third down where Cooper was back on the field on third down in the slot.
Another player Kenyon Sadiq has to compete with to get on the field after missing so much time this offseason Mason Taylor is solid enough/plays in-line Sadiq probably does more slot work so you have to compete with Cooper and Isaiah Williams for those reps
Kenyon Sadiq can’t catch a break after missing OTAs and now training camp Will be hard to catch up to Mason Taylor and have a serious full time role early in the season if he misses a lot of training camp here Take: I’m probably leaning towards not drafting much anymore - helps Omar Cooper/AD Mitchell potentially stay on the field more. Omar Cooper was probably going to operate out of the slot similar to Sadiq, so bigger bump to him.
Practice is over. Even day for both sides. - Thought Cade Klubnik was excellent today. Continue to be immensely impressed with his reads and delivery. - AZ Thomas is making a strong jump and showing he’s worthy of the FT role. - Slow start for Geno, but thought he rallied with some good throws late. - Last few practices have been very strong for Jamien Sherwood both against the run and in coverage. - Uneven day from Mason Taylor. Some good route-running but bad drops. Need to see more from hi...
