74

Baker Mayfield

NegativeMatchup34:12

Baker Mayfield faced the Vikings and was beaten up by them, getting injured in the game. This serves as evidence of the Vikings' strong defensive blueprint against opposing quarterbacks.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

PositiveUsage9:00

Braylon Allen is a strong start in week 5 following Breece Hall's injury. In his first game without Hall, Allen was the only running back to touch the ball despite limited offensive plays (33 vs. the team's 65-play average). The source projects Allen will receive approximately 20 touches and ranks him as a top-18 running back with potential for nearly twice as many plays as last week.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

NegativeProjection6:30

Brian Robinson Jr. has three straight games with 8.7+ PPR points and four touchdowns in his last two games, including three in a Monday night win against the Saints. However, the source projects him as a low-end number-three running back at best, noting he is touchdown-dependent and unlikely to produce without scoring. He is ranked 38th overall and compared to Jake Ferguson in terms of touchdown reliance.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveProjection33:24

The source ranks C.J. Stroud well ahead of Jalen Hurts for Week 5, listing him among preferred quarterback starts.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeMatchup34:08

Caleb Williams played against the Vikings in rain and was injured late in the game, serving as one example of the Vikings' strong defense against opposing quarterbacks.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveMatchup2:00

Chase Brown should have a breakout week against the Dolphins' weak defense. Cincinnati is expected to be without Jamar Chase and possibly Tee Higgins, forcing the offense to rely heavily on Brown in both rushing and passing roles. The source expects improved rushing efficiency and touchdown upside.

Insight page

Chris Olave

NegativeInjury33:53

Chris Alave missed practice on Wednesday for rest but left the game late with what appeared to be a knee injury. The source notes that if Alave cannot play, Tyler Shuck should not be trusted at all, indicating Alave is critical to Shuck's Week 5 viability.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeValue35:24

Colston Loveland is cited as a player the source would have recommended drafting later in August in favor of Mike Gusecki and TJ Hawkinson. The retrospective take suggests that drafting Gusecki and Hawkinson over Loveland in August would have been a sound strategy, implying Loveland has underperformed relative to draft expectations or ADP.

Insight page
PositiveProjection38:12

The source ranks Colston Loveland as a starter (ranks 13-24 tier), contrasting with a sit recommendation elsewhere. Loveland had 9 targets, 6 catches, 57 yards last week; historically he averaged 14.2 PPR points in 3 games against the Packers last season, including a dominant playoff performance. The source hopes for more featured usage and notes the Bears offense was executing well with Tyson Bajan throwing to primary reads.

Insight page
PositiveRole40:24

Loveland received nine targets in Week 4 and had a good PPR game; the source expects him to continue being featured in the Bears offense, particularly on short throws where Bajan is throwing to his first read when covered. However, the source notes competition from Odunze and Luther Burden limits ceiling, and the Bears' strong rushing attack against the Packers may reduce overall passing volume.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

NegativeBust22:53

The source is sitting Cortland Sutton despite the opportunity with Sean Payton taking over play calling duties and Pat Bryant being out for the Broncos. The problem hasn't been lack of opportunity—he's had 13 targets in the last two games—but he has only four catches for 50 yards. The source questions whether Cortland Sutton is really any good anymore. While the Pat Bryant situation may give him a few more opportunities, it may just go to somebody else with Sean Payton, such as Jalen Waddell. The source doesn't want to start Cortland Sutton in a three-wide receiver league.

Insight page
PositiveBust23:51

The source expresses low confidence in Sutton's fantasy viability going forward, stating "I'm not sure Cortland Sutton's really any good anymore" and noting that even with Pat Bryant's absence, the Broncos may simply target Jalen Waddell instead. The source does not have Sutton ranked in the top 40 wide receivers and describes the outlook as "going to be a little rough," emphasizing that Sutton "just hasn't been very productive" and is not someone to confidently start in three-wide receiver leagues.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveInjury18:18

DJ Moore is not expected to play, which opens up target opportunities for Bills receivers Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir.

Insight page
NegativeInjury42:22

DJ Moore left early in the Patriots game, which allowed the Patriots to double Dalton Kincaid and make contact with him; his status going forward is relevant to Kincaid's usage and the Bills' passing game strategy.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeRole2:36

DeAndre Swift remains the lead back for Chicago despite fumble concerns from week 4. The source ranks him at consensus 13 and notes historical precedent: in two games last year where Swift lost a fumble, he returned the following week with at least 16 touches. However, there is volatility risk—he could be a top-five running back if he avoids fumbles, or benched if he fumbles again.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

NegativeRole33:25

Dallas Goddert's status is uncertain for Week 5. If he returns, he would provide a reliable short-area target for Jalen Hurts, which would help the Eagles offense.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

NegativeMatchup38:00

The source recommends sitting Dalton Kincaid despite acknowledging most fantasy players probably won't bench him, citing a bad matchup in Week 5.

Insight page
NegativeProjection41:29

Kincaid has been bad the last two games after a hot start; he may have missed his sell-high window after the Week 2 Detroit bump. The source does not think he is safe, citing a very low floor especially against the Rams, who have allowed only 85 yards receiving to tight end groups this season (including Isaiah Likely and George Kittle).

Insight page
NegativeUsage42:01

Kincaid's snap share and route share are trending downward; he was playing more than ever before in the first two weeks, but last week it was still elevated but trending the wrong direction. To be a must-start tight end, he needs to be on the field for 70% of the Bills' pass plays. Last week the Patriots doubled him and had defenders make contact, and the Bills may have reeled back his snaps in response.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup42:22

If DJ Moore is out, the source would start Kincaid this week because the Bills will need to throw to be competitive; the Patriots' defensive strategy of doubling Kincaid and making contact was enabled by DJ Moore leaving early, so without Moore out, the Bills may be forced to rely on Kincaid more.

Insight page

Darius Cooper

NegativeRole20:00

Cooper is ranked 48 in the replacement situation with Devontae Smith out. He had seven targets and two touchdowns last week and has three touchdowns in his last three games, but he's characterized as a 'what the heck flex' due to uncertainty about which Eagles receiver will produce against the Jaguars' weak secondary.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeRole12:30

David Montgomery is a sit for week 5 as his workload is being split with Woody Marks. In three of four games, the snap count difference between them has been within seven snaps. Woody Marks has received carries inside the 10-yard line in the last two weeks and scored on them—opportunities traditionally reserved for Montgomery. Against Tennessee's run defense (most run-on team in the NFL, allowing 3.6 yards per rush), Montgomery is projected as a touchdown-or-bust option.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

PositiveProjection33:21

The source ranks Deshaun Watson ahead of Jalen Hurts for Week 5, expressing surprise at this recommendation but standing by it as a safer alternative.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

NegativeInjury17:14

Devontae Smith is not expected to play for the Eagles this week.

Insight page
NegativeInjury33:18

DeVontae Smith is Philadelphia's number-one receiver and is not expected to play in Week 5, creating a significant downside for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles passing game.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

PositiveProjection10:00

Emmanuel Wilson is a strong start for week 5 after an awesome performance last week. The 49ers have scored 12.3+ PPR points in every game this season when giving a running back featured work. Wilson has 10 career games with double-digit carries, and 7 of those resulted in 11.7+ PPR points. The source projects him as a top-15 running back with a safe floor and upside.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeProjection16:56

Pickens has had a rough start and is ranked as a top-15 wide receiver despite early-season frustration from drafters. The source frames tonight against Tampa Bay as a critical 'get-right game'—if he doesn't perform well, there will be legitimate concern about his ranking and role.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveUsage16:31

If Malik Nabors is unavailable, Isaiah Likely will see a huge target share from Jameis Winston, who already targets him heavily. Likely becomes a viable start in that scenario.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeInjury17:30

Chase is in the concussion protocol and not expected to play this week. If he clears the protocol and plays alongside Tee Higgins, Dante Myers drops back to the waiver wire.

Insight page
NegativeRole36:00

Ja'Marr Chase's availability is a key factor in Mike Gusecki's Week 5 upside. If Chase is out, Gusecki's value increases significantly as a top-12 tight end option; if Chase plays, Gusecki becomes a middling tight end with lower target ceiling.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

NegativeProjection32:37

The source ranks Brissett top 10 at quarterback for Week 5 despite some concern, banking on the matchup setup: bad defense and potential for 35-plus pass attempts. The source notes that without a pick-six last week, Brissett would have scored 18–19 points instead of 17, suggesting the underlying performance is solid and the ranking reflects confidence in volume-dependent upside.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeProjection33:18

The source does not want to start Jalen Hurts this week despite him leading the NFL in pass attempts and performing well overall. Reasoning: Philadelphia is down three starting offensive linemen, down number-one receiver DeVontae Smith (not expected to play), and uncertain on Dallas Goddard; Jacksonville's defense is outstanding with strong pressure and secondary play, and excellent run defense; without Saquon Barkley and at full offensive line strength, the tush push may be ineffective. The source ranks multiple quarterbacks ahead of Hurts: Deshaun Watson, C.J. Stroud, Sam Darnold, Jacoby Brissett, and Jameis Winston.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeRole16:13

The source would not start Jameis Winston if Malik Nabors is unavailable, despite the favorable matchup against Washington's weak secondary. Nabors' presence is critical to Winston's fantasy viability.

Insight page
PositiveProjection26:00

Dave expresses a favorable view of Jameis Winston as a quarterback start option for the week.

Insight page
PositiveProjection33:24

The source ranks Jameis Winston well ahead of Jalen Hurts for Week 5, listing him among preferred quarterback starts.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

PositiveBreakout22:12

Finally saw a breakout game last week with over 100 yards receiving. The Cardinals defense has been bad, allowing six receivers to hit 12.4+ PPR points this season. The source expects another big game for Williams and notes he has top 15 upside, if not top 10 upside, if he scores a touchdown. The pattern of two receivers each of the last two games against Arizona bodes well for both Williams and Amon Ross St. Brown.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveMatchup0:49

Javante Williams faces Tampa Bay's defense in week 5 after a dominant performance against Houston last week. The source expects another strong game, projecting he will catch a couple of passes and likely score at least one touchdown, ranking him as a top-12 running back despite not expecting huge yardage numbers.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

PositiveInjury26:15

Jaden Daniels, who missed the last two games with an elbow injury, is confirmed to play and is "full go" for the upcoming week. However, his fantasy value depends on receiver availability, as Terry McLaurin is still out and Stephon Diggs is back at practice but may still be working off the side, trending in the right direction but not yet guaranteed to play.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveRole0:23

With Rico Dowdle sidelined by a toe injury and expected to miss week 5, Jalen Warren is positioned as the featured back for the Steelers against the Indianapolis Colts, a favorable matchup. The source ranks him at number 9 in consensus top-12 running back rankings.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeRole37:00

Joe Burrow's presence as the Bengals quarterback is cited as a factor in Mike Gusecki's touchdown upside in Week 5. The source notes Gusecki is slightly more likely to score a touchdown than TJ Hawkinson because of Burrow and the Bengals' offense.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

NegativeRole35:36

Jordan Addison's availability is a key factor in TJ Hawkinson's Week 5 upside. If Addison is unavailable, Hawkinson could be phenomenal; if Addison plays, Hawkinson can still be phenomenal but with lower target volume as Kyler Murray will distribute to both receivers and check down to Hawkinson.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveRole22:39

The source is sitting Josh Downs despite loving him as a player. Only had four targets last week, which was terrible. Even when he's had a lot of targets this season, he hasn't been over 15 PPR points. The source doesn't trust his quarterback and wants to wait until the Colts offense figures themselves out and Downs sees consistent target volume on a week-to-week basis. The targets also aren't always catchable, which is part of the issue. However, there's a counter-argument: in the two games prior, Downs looked really good as a borderline number two receiver with 20 targets in those two games, and this week the Colts could be chasing points, which might lead to more opportunities.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeRole35:36

Justin Jefferson's availability is a key factor in TJ Hawkinson's Week 5 upside. If Jefferson is unavailable, Hawkinson could be phenomenal; if Jefferson plays, Hawkinson can still be phenomenal but with lower target volume as Kyler Murray will distribute to both receivers and check down to Hawkinson.

Insight page

Kalif Raymond

NegativeRole40:05

The source is not ready to write off Khalif Raymond despite the crowded Bears receiver room; there was a play where he was wide open downfield that would have been a touchdown if Bajan had thrown it, suggesting he has opportunity but execution/quarterback decision-making is limiting his production.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

NegativeRole35:15

Kenyon Sadiq is mentioned as a tight end streaming option for Week 5 that the source plans to discuss in the tight end segment, alongside Mike Gusecki and TJ Hawkinson, as part of a week with many good streaming options.

Insight page
NegativeDepth Chart38:39

Kenyon Sadiq has been moved from tight end 8 to tight end 11 in the rankings due to Mason Taylor's expected return (Adonai Mitchell remains out). Last week Sadiq had 4 targets on 15 total passes from Gino Smith (26.7% target share), better than a 25% baseline. The source projects Sadiq will maintain around a 20% target share for the rest of the season, which would make him a top-12 tight end.

Insight page

Keon Coleman

NegativeMatchup18:18

Despite excitement around Coleman and solid film from last week, the source would avoid him if he's lined up against Trent McDuffie in the Rams matchup. McDuffie is a tough cornerback, making this a poor matchup for Coleman.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup19:09

Coleman would be ahead of Shakir if DJ Moore plays, because Moore would draw Trent McDuffie in coverage, opening Coleman to get decent work against a favorable matchup, especially if Emmanuel Forbes covers him. Forbes is fast but really small, and Coleman can body him.

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

NegativeMatchup18:18

Shakir was the leading receiver for Buffalo two years ago when these teams met. Against the Rams' increased man coverage, Shakir's inside alignment should benefit him. He'll get volume, though the source is uncertain about his yardage upside.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper18:50

Shakir is positioned as a sleeper for the week; he'll work inside more against the Rams' man coverage, which can benefit him. He'll get volume but uncertainty remains on big yardage upside. He had over 100 yards against the Rams in 2024 but may not replicate that; however, he can be at least a serviceable flex play.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper24:48

Khalil Shakir is identified as a sleeper pick by the source (Dave's sleeper recommendation). The source highlights Shakir as a waiver wire target with upside in the wide receiver position.

Insight page

Kyle Monangai

PositiveRole3:30

Kyle Monongai is expected to play despite a thumb injury and limited Wednesday practice (attributed to workload management by Ben Johnson). He has had strong performances in two of four games and faces a favorable matchup against Green Bay's run defense, which was exploited by Atlanta last week. The source projects him as a borderline number-two to number-three fantasy running back with the Bears' strong offensive line.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeValue35:24

Kyle Pitts is cited as a player the source would have recommended drafting later in August in favor of Mike Gusecki and TJ Hawkinson. The retrospective take suggests that drafting Gusecki and Hawkinson over Pitts in August would have been a sound strategy, implying Pitts has underperformed relative to draft expectations or ADP.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeRole35:36

Kyler Murray's play style and rapport with TJ Hawkinson is highlighted as a key factor in Hawkinson's Week 5 upside. The source notes Murray showed flashbacks to his Arizona days where he throws short and to Hawkinson under pressure, similar to his role with Trey McBride. Murray has already developed rapport with Hawkinson and threw him a deep target in a recent game.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeRole40:05

Luther Burden is mentioned as one of the better receivers in the Bears offense ahead of Colston Loveland, indicating he has a higher role priority in the crowded receiver room despite the overall depth chart competition.

Insight page

Makai Lemon

NegativeRole20:00

Lemon is mentioned as a potential beneficiary against the Jaguars' weak secondary with Devontae Smith out, but is characterized as a 'what the heck flex' due to difficulty predicting which Eagles receiver will produce in the replacement situation.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveRole16:13

Nabors needs to practice and get on the field to unlock his upside; the source expects opportunities against Washington's weak secondary and Jameis Winston's willingness to throw downfield. If Nabors plays, he's a start candidate; if he doesn't, Isaiah Likely takes over the target share.

Insight page
NegativeInjury16:30

Malik Nabors is dealing with knee soreness and missed practice on Thursday. His status is uncertain for week 5. If he plays, he remains a must-start against Washington's weak secondary. If he does not play, Isaiah Likely will see a huge target share, and Darnell Mooney and Malachi Fields would be in play.

Insight page

Malik Washington

PositiveSleeper25:12

The source identifies Malik Washington as his sleeper pick for the week and describes him as "my favorite player on the waiver wire this week." The source would start Washington over other recently added wide receivers from the Bills and Bengals, and even over Myers if both Higgins and Chase are out. Washington previously scored 11 fantasy points when listed as a sleeper, then saw his rostered percentage jump to 20% the following week, demonstrating the source's confidence in his upside.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeMatchup34:18

Malik Willis faced the Vikings, serving as another example of the Vikings' strong defense against opposing quarterbacks.

Insight page

Ollie Gordon II

NegativeMatchup8:00

Ollie Gordon is a sit for week 5 despite a strong performance against Minnesota last week. The source projects him as a flex at best against Cincinnati's run defense, which has allowed only two touchdowns to running backs all season. Gordon is expected to be in a game where Denver is chasing points, limiting his upside.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeRole11:00

Ramondre Stevenson's role is uncertain due to a knee injury and limited practice on Wednesday. While he had over 18 PPR points last week, the source notes he has been ineffective as a rusher (51 yards is his season high) and is not projected to lead the team in rush attempts. Travion Henderson has received more carries in every game they've played together, including one game where Stevenson was benched. The source recommends flexing him only if he practices fully on Friday.

Insight page

Roman Wilson

PositiveSleeper25:48

The source identifies Roman Wilson as his sleeper pick, noting that Wilson has received six targets in every game and scored touchdowns in the last two games, building rapport with Aaron Rodgers. While the source would like to see targets increase, he describes Wilson as "one of these very safe number three wide receivers that can hopefully pop a little bit when he does score touchdowns." The source recommends ensuring Wilson is not left on the waiver wire, as he could be a weekly number three wide receiver option.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

PositiveRole40:43

Odunze came alive last week and the source believes he can continue to be a factor in the Bears offense. The source rates Odunze as better than Loveland and Luther Burden, positioning him as a preferred target in a crowded receiver room.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

PositiveProjection33:24

The source ranks Sam Darnold well ahead of Jalen Hurts for Week 5, listing him among preferred quarterback starts.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeRole33:58

Saquon Barkley is out for Week 5, forcing Philadelphia to rely more on Jalen Hurts running the ball. The source questions whether Hurts will have success running without full offensive line strength and doubts the effectiveness of the tush push scheme.

Insight page

Tee Higgins

NegativeInjury17:30

Tee Higgins is expected to play this week, which affects the target distribution for Bengals receivers. If both Higgins and Chase play, Dante Myers becomes waiver-wire material.

Insight page
NegativeRole36:00

Tee Higgins' availability is a key factor in Mike Gusecki's Week 5 upside. If Higgins is out, Gusecki's value increases significantly as a top-12 tight end option; if Higgins plays, Gusecki becomes a middling tight end with lower target ceiling.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeInjury26:30

Terry McLaurin remains out and is not yet practicing with the Commanders, limiting his availability for the upcoming week.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveMatchup32:35

The source identifies this as a huge game for McBride, noting that everybody is starting him, indicating strong matchup-based upside for Week 5.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

PositiveSleeper25:25

Wandale Robinson is suggested as a sleeper pick for the following week, continuing a theme of targeting undervalued wide receivers on the waiver wire.

Insight page

Will Shipley

PositiveSleeper13:30

Will Shipley is a high-end flex sleeper for week 5 against Jacksonville. The Jaguars have allowed the second-most receptions to running backs this season. With Philadelphia expected to be without DeVonta Smith and possibly Dallas Goedert, Shipley is projected to receive 50-60% of rush attempts and most of the passing-game work. The source expects him to have a good enough game to potentially earn increased work if Saquon Barkley remains unavailable.

Insight page

Woody Marks

PositiveRole13:00

Woody Marks is receiving increased work in Houston's backfield, particularly in high-value situations. He has received carries inside the 10-yard line in the last two weeks and scored on them, suggesting a shift in goal-line opportunities away from David Montgomery. The source projects him between 8-9 PPR points alongside other backup running backs.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeProjection15:00

Zay Flowers' production will decline significantly in week 5 with Tyler Huntley starting instead of Lamar Jackson. Huntley averaged 156 passing yards per game when starting last year, and Flowers scored 12-13 PPR points in both games she played with him. The source projects similar 12-13 point output and warns against expecting the production Flowers has delivered so far this season.

0:00It's week 5! It's time to get those rankings right, get those lineups right, time to get a win if you're maybe
0:050-4, but you need to win anyway because you want to keep that momentum going for your fantasy league.
0:10Welcome to Fantasy Football Today, I'm Jamie Eisenberg, that's Dave Richard, that's Heath Cummings, got a fun show for you.
0:15We're gonna take a look at all of our rankings, running back, wide receiver, quarterback, tight end, answer some of your questions,
0:20send them to us on social media using the hashtag AskFFT.
0:23Let's start with the running backs, got a little bit of news, Mike McCarthy saying that Rico Dowdle may not return this
0:29week, continuing to work back from that toe injury.
0:31That's great news. for Jalen Warren, who you'll see in our consensus top 12 rankings for this week as the Steelers have
0:36what should be a favorable game for him as they take on the Indianapolis Colts.
0:40So here are the rankings 1 through 12, our consensus rankings, you can see them on CBSSports.com, you can break them down
0:45by our individual rankings if you want, and there's Jalen Warren coming in at number 9.
0:49Let's talk about Javante Williams because we have a game tonight between the Cowboys and the Bucks.
0:54Javante, tough matchup last week, Heath, and he came through dominant against the Houston, Texas.
0:57He got another dominant game against that Tampa Bay defense.
1:00I think it'd be close to dominant, yes. It should be a situation where the Cowboys don't get forced to throw a lot of passes.
1:06I mean, they always throw a lot of passes, but not an abnormal number of passes.
1:10I don't know that I'd expect a huge yardage number or a great efficiency game from Javante Williams, but he's going to catch a couple of passes.
1:16He's probably going to score at least one touchdown.
1:19He's a top 12 running back. Yeah, you see some of the names on the list, Dave.
1:23Aaron Jones has just been really good. Jalen Warren, again, continues to dominate with the featured work.
1:27Is this going to be a big week for Chase Brown?
1:30I think it should be. I mean, it's the Dolphins' defense, and they haven't looked great, and this is also a Cincinnati offense.
1:35We don't expect them to have Jamar Chase. We'll see about Tee Higgins.
1:39So they're running out of guys to throw the ball to, and one of the guys that they threw the ball to
1:44a lot last week was Chase Brown. So they can do that, and he should obviously have much better rushing efficiency.
1:49I think he can find the end zone as well, like Chase Brown a lot.
1:53Yeah, hopefully it's that breakout game that you've been waiting for for Chase Brown.
1:56Let's take a look at the running back rankings, 13 through 24, and as you always hear me say, this is where
2:02some of the questions come in, because we know you're starting the guys 1 through 12 without really any hesitation.
2:07The guy at 13, though, we have DeAndre Swift dealing with a variety of injuries and some fumble issues, as we saw last week.
2:13We also have Kyle Monongai, who is expected to play, did have a thumb injury, did not practice on Wednesday, but Ben
2:18Johnson said that was more because of the workload that he had.
2:21So Dave, how are you approaching the Bears' backfield, assuming both of these guys play?
2:25And it's now been two of four games where Kyle Monongai has had strong performances.
2:28I'm definitely starting DeAndre Swift. I view him still as the lead back in Chicago.
2:32There were two games last year where he lost a fumble the very next week.
2:36He came back, had at least 16 touches in each of those games.
2:39But I kind of like Monongai, too, and some of it has to do with the matchup against Green Bay.
2:44You saw what the Falcons did to them last week.
2:46Now this week it's Chicago, and I think they're going to be able to run the ball.
2:51They did a great job running it against the Jets.
2:53I think they just keep it moving. They've got the offensive line to do it.
2:57So Swift is like a must-start, and Monongai is like a borderline number two, number three fantasy running back.
3:01Do you have any fear with Swift? I'm with Dave.
3:04I'm sure you probably are because that's where we have it ranked.
3:07But if there's another fumble or there's another something for DeAndre Swift that we see the roles switched.
3:11Yeah, we don't generally worry about a running back.
3:14Could he fumble in this game and lose touches?
3:16But there's two guys this week that I kind of have that fear for.
3:19Ramondre Stevenson and DeAndre Swift. And Stevenson, for me, the concern is a little bit bigger for other reasons, which we're going
3:25to talk about in just a moment, I think.
3:27But yeah, I think the problem is if DeAndre Swift doesn't fumble, he might be a top five running back this week.
3:32So that's kind of where I'm ranking him is.
3:35I've got him at 13, right where the consensus rankings do.
3:37That's not necessarily... Right where we all have. Right.
3:39It's not necessarily like, yeah, I feel really confident about him finishing there.
3:43It's that he could be a top five running back and, oh no, he could get benched for fumbling.
3:47Yeah, I mean, look, this is a backfield. They both could be great.
3:51And given two teams on a bye, we haven't really touched on that a lot here, at least.
3:55Kansas City and Carolina are not there, so you don't have Kenneth Walker.
3:58You don't have Chuba Hubbard, two guys who are must-start running backs.
4:01That's why they're not in the rankings. You might have to start Kamanangai.
4:04So hopefully he's healthy and, again, dealing with thumb injury and just general soreness after all the work that he had in dominating week four.
4:11Let's take a look at the consensus rankings, 25 through 36.
4:13And we have some of the backfields that have some issues.
4:16One in particular is Washington. And so we don't know yet what Rashad White's status is going to be.
4:21So he's dealing with a shoulder injury. He's going to – he did practice off to the side, so trying to come
4:26back for week five after missing week four against the Colts in London.
4:29Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt has one good game, three disappointing games.
4:31They signed Austin Eckler prior to the London game against the Colts, and he looked okay.
4:35But we know he's over 30 and coming back from a significant injury.
4:39Heath, how are you approaching the Washington backfield if you have to start one of them or rely on one of them probably more as a flex?
4:45If I have to start one, it's still Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt.
4:48But I do kind of feel like this could be the last week that we say that.
4:52He just has not been as good of a rusher of the football as he was last year.
4:56He's been much better in the passing game. And I thought actually last week he looked better in pass protection than maybe he ever has in the NFL.
5:03But I thought – and listen, Austin Eckler's old.
5:06I don't think they can count on Austin Eckler to handle 20 touches a game or 15 touches a game even.
5:11But I thought he looked better than any commander's running back has looked so far this season.
5:15And that's a bad sign for a guy like Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt when Austin Eckler comes off of the injury pile at his
5:20age and just looks that much better. And then we saw Krosky-Meritt have a season-low 11 touches last week and his second-best PPR point game of the season.
5:27And it was seven points. So we talked about it earlier in the week.
5:31We wouldn't be surprised if Krosky-Meritt actually gets benched at some point.
5:34I don't really want to start any commander's running back if I don't have to.
5:37I agree with Heath that it would be Krosky-Meritt if I had to start one unless Rashad White plays.
5:42That's who they like on passing downs. That's who I would start Krosky-Bee plays.
5:45Well, that's who they liked. They still may like.
5:48I think they still do because Eckler didn't play a single third down last week.
5:51They brought him back and they had him working with Krosky-Meritt and Krosky-Meritt was playing.
5:55The only thing that I'll say is, I mean, look, he just signed a few days before and then they go to London.
6:01So that's hard to say that he's going to be fully acclimated to everything.
6:04And then everything went kaput because you go from Marcus Mariota to a third-string quarterback.
6:08Now Jaden Daniels is back, so hopefully everything is back on schedule.
6:11So this is kind of, I think, a game that you want to see how it all works out, especially if White is healthy.
6:17If White's not there, then I think maybe Eckler has some flex appeal in PPR because he did, to your point, Heath,
6:22he'd look the best of any commanders running back.
6:24Maybe Rashad White had a couple good moments, but definitely Eckler looked good for coming off the street.
6:29Last list of rankings that we'll show for running backs, 37 through 48.
6:32I want to bring this up specifically for a guy that may be getting a little bit overlooked, and that's Brian Robinson Jr.
6:38coming in at 38th overall. He's got three straight games with 8.7 PPR points or more.
6:42He's got four touchdowns in his last two games, scored three touchdowns in that Monday night win against the Saints.
6:47Is it time to look at him maybe as we talk about Mononghi in tandem, Blake Coram in tandem, these other backup
6:52running backs that have been productive at times, more so with the Bears than anybody else?
6:56Is Brian Robinson Jr. now worth flexing given what he's looked like and how the Falcons have run the ball?
7:01They scored 70 points in the last two weeks.
7:03They've been awesome. Excuse me, 80 points in the last two weeks.
7:06And yet I'm still not excited to start Brian Robinson Jr.
7:09He almost feels like the Jake Ferguson of running backs.
7:11Is he going to score a touchdown? And if he does score a touchdown, I think he'll be okay with what he
7:17gives you as far as fantasy goes. And if he doesn't score a touchdown, I don't know if he's going to help you out that much.
7:23So I don't see him as anything more than like at best a low end number three type of fantasy running back.
7:29And I don't think that's crazy to say. He's the backup behind B.
7:32John Robinson. He's already passed Blake Coram for me.
7:34Yeah. So I've got four running backs in my projections all between eight and nine points.
7:38And it's Woody Marks, Travion Henderson, Brian Robinson, and Blake Coram.
7:41Oh, he's not last in that group. No. And I think amongst that group, he's the most likely to score a touchdown.
7:46Well, let me put it in perspective for our audience here.
7:49We got overexcited. Understandably so because of an injury for Ollie Gordon.
7:52Ollie Gordon had a great game last week. He had nine touches.
7:55Brian Robinson Jr. had a better game last week and has gotten 10 or more touches in three straight games.
8:00I know he's the backup. He's on a better team.
8:02He's probably going to get as many touches, maybe more.
8:05Now that's... So you're starting him over, Ollie Gordon?
8:07No, I'm not. He's definitely better at non-PPR also.
8:09We're talking PPR right now. Yeah. He's much better at non-PPR.
8:12But again, comparing him to Gordon, two targets, no catches.
8:14This is not going to be a team that throws to his running backs.
8:18I'm just trying to put it in perspective how good Brian Robinson is and we get, you know, sort of because starter
8:23versus backup, sometimes the backup could be better. I think if Brian Robinson has another good game, we may be talking about
8:28him similar to Kyle Mononga as a borderline number two running back.
8:31Let's talk about some starts and sits here. So we're going to have a good Ramondre Stevenson conversation.
8:36But Heath, I'll give you first Braylon Allen. Tell everybody just how good he can be this week.
8:40Yeah, I think people look at what he did in the first game without Brees Hall and think, oh, that wasn't very good.
8:46What do you have 15 touches, 60 yards, whatever.
8:48They ran 33 offensive plays. He is the only running back who has touched the football since Brees Hall got hurt.
8:53They were averaging 65 offensive plays per game before last week.
8:56So I think you can expect nearly twice as many plays.
8:59He probably won't have twice as many touches. That would be 30.
9:02But I do think he'll probably have 20 touches in this game.
9:05I think the Jets have a little more offensive success.
9:07He's a top 18 running back for me. Yeah, it's going to be fun to see if they actually can give him the work that he needs.
9:14I'll just go quickly on Emmanuel Wilson. Awesome last week.
9:16I think he's got a chance to be awesome once again.
9:19The 49ers, every game so far this season, 12.3 PPR points or more.
9:22Wilson's track record is great. Ten games in his career with double digits and carries.
9:26Seven of those, 11.7 PPR points or more. So the floor should hopefully be safe.
9:30And I think you're looking at, again, similar to Braylon Allen, a guy getting all the touches on an offense that has
9:35performed well when they've given that chance to a one particular running back.
9:38You go back to last season, for example, with Kenneth Walker in the playoffs.
9:42So Emmanuel Wilson, to me, has top 15 upside.
9:44All right, let's get to our Mondra Stevenson debate here.
9:46Now, first, I'll put it in a little bit of context.
9:49We don't know if he's guaranteed to play. He did have a limited practice session on Wednesday.
9:53That was actually after Mike Vrabel met with the media and said that he wasn't going to practice.
9:58So it was good to see Ramondre out there.
10:00So the injury situation, clearly something to monitor. But Dave, you like Ramondre if he plays.
10:04Keith, you do not. I think the Raiders' run defense is okay.
10:07I don't think it's great. And obviously, Kenneth Walker trounced them last week.
10:10But Omar and Hampton had his best game of the year against them.
10:13Even Travis H.N. had 70 yards against them. And we know that Ramondre Stevenson is back in that role as being the primary running back for the team.
10:20He's going to play a lot of the passing downs.
10:23He's going to work at the goal line. He had over 18 PPR points last week, too.
10:27Let's not forget that he was having a good game.
10:29And I think he can be about that good again as long as he's out there and he's not seeing his workload limited because of the knee injury.
10:36If he practices all week long, I'm good with Ramondre Stevenson.
10:39I mean, he's like Brian Robinson that gets a few targets a week for me just because Travion Henderson has more carries in every game they've played together.
10:46One of those, it was because Stevenson got benched.
10:48And then it's just been a little bit more for Henderson in the rushing game.
10:52And that's because Ramondre Stevenson's been awful as a rusher so far this season.
10:5551 yards is his high. That was the one game that Henderson didn't play.
10:59He's not 100% healthy. Something in the passing game.
11:01The fact that he's not 100% healthy. If he gets a full practice in Friday, I'll move him up a couple of spots.
11:07But if he's not 100% healthy, he's not projected to lead the team in rush attempts.
11:10I don't want to start him. If I have to flex him, I will.
11:14All right. So we'll see Ramondre's health and that could determine the rankings.
11:17Obviously, Travion Henderson has amazing upside, as we saw last year, averaged over 24 PPR points per game in the three games that Ramondre missed.
11:23Dave, you're sitting David Montgomery this week. I'm not sure he's the best running back in Houston anymore.
11:28And we've seen that workload split between him and Woody Marks get a little bit closer throughout the season.
11:32Three of four games, it's been within seven snaps of each other.
11:35And we know that Woody Marks, last two weeks, he said carries inside the 10.
11:39And he scored on them. Those are supposed to go to David Montgomery.
11:42And you look at the matchup against Tennessee. Titans are the most run-on team in the NFL.
11:46Well, they're giving up 3.6 yards per rush, not a lot of explosive runs on top of it.
11:51I'm worried about David Montgomery as a touchdown or bust type of fantasy running back.
11:55You could almost make the case that Brian Robinson Jr.
11:57is a better start than David Montgomery at this point.
12:00Yeah, chasing touchdowns. Chase, the guy that just scored three in his last game.
12:03For me, I'm going to sit Ollie Gordon again.
12:05It was great to see what he did last week against Minnesota.
12:08Not an easy run defense. Had the long run, scored the touchdown.
12:11Now you're talking about a Cincinnati run defense. They've only given up two touchdowns to running backs so far this season.
12:16I think there's going to be another game where they're chasing points.
12:19I don't care who's playing wide receiver for Cincinnati.
12:21That offense is going to score against the Dolphins.
12:24So Ollie Gordon, at best, is a flex. And so hopefully we get another strong game from him.
12:28But really shocking that so far he's the best Dolphins running back.
12:31Better than Devon H. And just in a per-game basis.
12:34If they're going with a hot hand, it makes sense based on last week.
12:37Because he was clearly going to run around. Oh, for sure.
12:40And listen, Jeff Halfley said that they're going to get Jalen Wright some more work.
12:43But it's Ollie Gordon right now if you're talking about a Dolphins running back.
12:47I only want to get to one sleeper. Dave, you've got R.J.
12:50Harvey's a sleeper. I have Keaton Mitchell, but I want to save time for the rest of the show.
12:55But you have a guy that's really topical right now.
12:57That's why we haven't talked about him yet. And that's Will Shipley.
13:00So what are your expectations? So first off, he's a sleeper, not a start.
13:03Not in my top 24 running backs. But I do think the only way that running backs have really had success against
13:09this Jacksonville defense through the year, they've been up the second most receptions to running backs this season.
13:13Jalen Hurts, not going to have Devontae Smith. At this point, we don't think he's going to have Dallas Goddard.
13:18That could change. I'm hoping that we get a few more targets to the running backs.
13:22I don't think they'll have success running the ball.
13:24You've got to create some of those opportunities through the pass.
13:27So he is a high-end flex option for me this week.
13:30I would guess he has 50% to 60% of the rush attempts and most of the work in the passing game.
13:35I just want to see him have a good enough game that if Barkley's out again next week, that they get Carolina a much easier opponent than Jacksonville.
13:42And maybe they get the offensive line straightened out.
13:44Because as we know, no Lane Johnson, no Cam Juergens, no longer on the roster.
13:48All right, we're going to take a break. We come back and talk about some wide receivers and give you the rankings,
13:53some starts, some sits, and some players you might want to avoid.

14:15Terms and conditions apply. Welcome back to Fantasy Football.
14:18Today we're talking about wide receivers. And if you find one that's healthy, please send them our way because we are dealing
14:23with too many injuries at this spot. So right now, this is what we're monitoring this week.
14:27We got Malik Nabors missing practice on Thursday, dealing with knee soreness.
14:30Hopefully he'll be out there. We're waiting to find out updates on Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins.
14:34We're waiting to find out an update on Justin Jefferson.
14:37I don't know what to do. The commanders are looking for help.
14:40The commanders are looking for help. Yeah. This week if he plays.
14:43So let's show you the rankings. You may see Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, who knows, Randy Moss.
14:47We just need players that have actually caught passes in the NFL.
14:50But this is the list 1 through 12 of the wide receivers that we're talking about.
14:54And we have two guys on this list, one in particular in Zay Flowers.
14:57Heath, you're the Zay Flowers guy. We've got a different quarterback expected to start this week for the Ravens without Lamar Jackson.
15:03How is Flowers going to do with Tyler Huntley?
15:05It's a much worse environment. I am the Zay Flowers guy.
15:08I think I'm also the low guy on Zay Flowers this week.
15:11Tyler Huntley has averaged about 156 passing yards per game when he starts.
15:14Last year, Zay Flowers played two games with him, scored 12 to 13 points in both.
15:18I think that's what you should expect, 12 or 13 fantasy points.
15:21He's a start, but don't expect what you've gotten from Zay Flowers so far.
15:24No faith at all in Declan Doyle trying to scheme something up for him in that short area and having him break away for a big game.
15:31Because I think that's pretty much the only way he's going to get it done.
15:35You're going to have to hope that, yes, he breaks off a 30-yard yak to score a touchdown.
15:39Yeah. Well, he's done that. It's possible. Yeah. You know that.
15:42It's possible, but I think it is a tall order.
15:4414 times Tyler Huntley started a game. Only four of those times as a receiver had at least 14 PPR points.
15:49As you said, a different offense. So we'll see if the scheme is different.
15:53It's been great for Zay Flowers so far. Let's take a look at the rankings, 13 through 24.
15:57And this is where you see Malik Nabors come into play.
16:00So, Dave, I know you're going to talk about Jameis Winston a little bit.
16:03Is Malik Nabors still a must-start quarterback if Malik's not out there?
16:06And what do the Giants do from a passing game perspective to replace Nabors if he doesn't play?
16:11Run away from Jameis Winston if Malik Nabors doesn't play.
16:13He needs Malik Nabors out there. And we saw it last week.
16:16And this is a similar type of matchup for Jameis Winston where he's not going to have a lot of pressure from the commanders.
16:22And that secondary for Washington isn't very good. So there's going to be opportunities for Malik Nabors.
16:26He's just got to get out there and practice first.
16:29That's what will make us feel better about starting him.
16:31If he does not play, then you're looking at Isaiah likely seeing a huge target share.
16:35And he's already seeing a huge target share from Jameis Winston.
16:38Darnell Mooney would be in play. Malachi Fields would be in play.
16:41But those guys are like borderline number three receivers.
16:43I wouldn't feel great about them. And I would not start Jameis Winston if there's no Malik Nabors.
16:48We're going to talk about a lot of guys on this list with the starts and sits in a minute.
16:53But, Heath, George Pickens, it's been a rough start for him so far.
16:56Is this a get-right game tonight against Tampa Bay?
16:58It should be. I think there may be some people who drafted George Pickens who are getting a little frustrated with us
17:03just ranking him as a top 15 wide receiver every week and acting like there's no concern.
17:08If he's not good tonight against Tampa Bay, there will be concern.
17:11It's a Joe Boo week for George Pickens. Yep, hopefully it comes through.
17:14I mean, again, you're not benching George Pickens, but you do need to see him have a standout game.
17:18And it could definitely happen against this Bucs defense.
17:21All right, let's show you the list 25 through 36.
17:23And now we're getting into what the probably biggest story of the week is, the replacement wide receivers in case guys are out.
17:29So in the event that there is no Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins, in the event that there is no DJ Moore,
17:34in the event, in the event, Devontae Smith. Too many events, Jamie.
17:37Devontae Smith not expected to play for the Eagles as well.
17:40But let's talk about the Bills situation and the Bengals situation.
17:43So Heath hates the Bills situation, so I'm going to go to Dave.
17:46So give me the Bengals situation, Heath, if there is no Chase, Tee Higgins, or one of the other.
17:50Yeah, you see Myers here at wide receiver 31.
17:53That's with us guessing that Tee Higgins is going to play.
17:55Jamar Chase is not going to play. If neither one of them play, then I think Dante Myers probably moves into the
18:01top 24 wide receivers, or at least very, very close to it.
18:04If Chase gets through the concussion protocol, which is possible, and he and Tee Higgins both play, then Myers may just go back to the waiver wire.
18:10He would definitely go back to the waiver wire if those guys are out there.
18:14Nobody would want to trust Myers. But the Bengals love this guy.
18:17Came from the CFL. Really was obviously an undrafted wide receiver.
18:20And he's got some speed and quickness that shows up on film.
18:23It's actually quite impressive. And so if one of those receivers is out, look for Dante Myers to have at least six targets.
18:28If DJ Moore is out, what do we make of Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir?
18:32I know that everybody's excited about Keon Coleman. And I liked what I saw from Keon Coleman last week, too.
18:37But if he's going to be lined up against Trent McDuffie in this matchup against the Rams, I don't want anything to do with Keon Coleman.
18:43That's a tough matchup for him. And Khalil Shakir was the guy who two years ago, when these two teams met, was the leading receiver for Buffalo.
18:50He'll work inside a little bit more. I know the Rams are playing more man coverage these days.
18:55I think that's something that can benefit Shakir. He'll get volume.
18:57I just don't know what he'll do with it in terms of a big yardage game.
19:01Had over 100 yards against the Rams back in 24.
19:04I don't know if he's going to do that, but I think he can be at least a serviceable flex.
19:09Keon Coleman would be ahead of him if DJ Moore plays, because DJ Moore would draw Trent McDuffie in coverage.
19:14And that would open up Keon Coleman to get some decent work against a favorable matchup, especially if it's Emmanuel Forbes for the Rams.
19:19That dude's fast, but he's really small. Keon Coleman could body him.
19:22All right. So you'll see when we talk about this a little bit later, this is one of Dave's sleepers for the week is Khalil Shakir.
19:29Just one last list we want to talk about here.
19:31Another replacement situation, 37 through 48. We have a couple of the Eagles wide receivers on the list here.
19:36You saw Duntavian Wicks at number 36. You also got Darius Cooper here at number 48.
19:40So Heath, Devontae Smith, we don't expect to play.
19:42The Jaguars, if there is a weakness in their defense, it is their secondary.
19:46And so can one of these two guys and maybe even Makai Lemon have success in this at this point, as you
19:51alluded to earlier, we're assuming that there is no Dallas Goddard for this week.
19:54Yes. If you could tell me that I could just start Eagles wide receiver and I get the best Eagles wide receiver,
20:00that'd probably be a top 24 guy. I think one of those guys will have success.
20:04The way last week went makes it very difficult to guess which one.
20:07I still favor Duntavian Wicks as a boom bust number three wide receiver.
20:10I think Lemon and Cooper are more what the heck flexes, but it's just guessing which one.
20:14I think one of them will be good. Yep.
20:17And last week, Cooper, seven targets, two touchdowns. He does have three touchdowns in his last three games, but Duntavian Wicks got
20:22off to a great start with over 12 PPR points in each of his first two games.
20:26All right, let's talk about some start sits and guys that might help you as sleepers.
20:30Dave, you like Stephon Diggs, another injury situation that we're keeping an eye on here.
20:34So Terry McCorin missed last week, hamstring injury, didn't practice on Wednesday.
20:37Diggs also missed practice on Wednesday with a hamstring injury.
20:39He's got to practice by Friday before we even consider him.
20:42But if Jayden Daniels is back, I like Stephon Diggs.
20:45There's no if. He's back. The commanders have already said he's pulled up.
20:48And we are good to go. Let's use Stephon Diggs if he's out there.
20:51We saw in week one how good Stephon Diggs could be with Jayden Daniels.
20:55And then in week two, the majority of his PPR fantasy points came with Jayden Daniels on the field.
20:59So it's really just a matter of are you there?
21:02Are you taking on this Giants defense? They're not very good.
21:05They can't get pressure on the quarterback. Stephon Diggs would have a pretty good game.
21:08I like him as a number two receiver. But everything's got to be right here.
21:12Daniels has to play and feel comfortable. We don't know if he'll feel comfortable, but he'll play.
21:16And Stephon Diggs has to be out there, and he's got to be on his regular snap share.
21:21Heath, you have one of the more underrated players as a start for you.
21:24I don't think we've given enough credit to Cardinal Tate and what he's done the last two weeks.
21:28Yeah, he is fourth amongst all wide receivers in target share this season.
21:32And just coming off of a game where he scored 29.5 PPR fantasy points, I think he's a must-start number two wide
21:37receiver who may be a must-start number one wide receiver in the second half of the season.
21:41This guy is awesome. He was the best wide receiver in this draft class.
21:45He's having success. It makes me still a little bit uncomfortable, this Texans defense, and the fact that the Mikko Ryans is
21:50taking over as a play caller, just because it's laughable that they've been the worst team in the NFL against wide receivers.
21:56We thought they might be the best. And so that part, I think, adds a little bit of risk.
22:00But I'm just going to overlook it and start the rookie who's been awesome.
22:04And probably chasing points and hopefully a situation where he gets quality targets from Cam Moore that hasn't always been the case.
22:09I'm going to take a little hanging fruit here and go with Jamison Williams.
22:13I think it's going to be another big game for him.
22:15Last week we finally saw the breakout game at least over 100 yards receiving.
22:19What we've seen from the Cardinals is two receivers each of the last two games.
22:22This bodes well for both Williams and obviously Amon Ross St.
22:25Brown, over 12.4 PPR points in the same game.
22:27So this defense has been bad. Six receivers have hit that number so far this season.
22:31I think Jamison Williams has top 15 upside, if not top 10 upside, if he scores a touchdown.
22:36Let's talk about some wide receivers that we want to sit for this week.
22:39Dave, you're sitting Josh Downs. I love Josh Downs, but I've got to do it because I don't trust his quarterback.
22:44And I don't like the fact that he only had four targets last week.
22:48That was terrible. And even when he's had a lot of targets this season, he hasn't been over 15 PPR points.
22:53So what are we doing with Josh Downs? We just have to wait until the Colts offense figures themselves out a little bit more.
22:59And he sees that target volume on a week-to-week basis.
23:01And the targets are catchable. That's part of the issue here, too.
23:04He's a great wide receiver, but Daniel Jones just isn't it right now.
23:08The counter to that would be the two games prior to that.
23:11Josh Downs looked really good. He was like a borderline number two receiver.
23:14The production center. Yeah, I mean, he's got 20 targets in those two games.
23:17So I think that's the volume that you're hoping for.
23:20The other part would be is last week playing with the lead.
23:23This week they could be chasing points, so we could see a little bit more opportunities, which would be the hope.
23:28So as you see, Heath and I are a little bit different in terms of how we feel about Josh Downs.
23:33Heath, you're sitting in Cortland Sutton despite the opportunity maybe with better play caller, as we found out before the show, Sean
23:38Payton's going to take over play calling duties, and no Pat Bryant for the Broncos.
23:42Yeah, the problem hasn't been that they aren't throwing it to him.
23:45He's had 13 targets in the last two games.
23:47He has four catches for 50 yards. I'm not sure Cortland Sutton's really any good anymore.
23:51And the Pat Bryant situation may give him a few more opportunities, or it may just go to somebody else with Sean Payton.
23:57I think it may just be, let's throw it to Jalen Waddell 12 times.
24:00I don't want to start Cortland Sutton in a three-wide receiver league.
24:03Yeah, I don't blame you. You see, I don't even have him ranked in the top 40 yet.
24:08I think it's going to be a little rough.
24:10Well, I mean, again, what are we chasing here from him?
24:13We're chasing a guy that just hasn't been very productive.
24:15So hopefully he scores. Hopefully he comes through. But not somebody that I'm very confident in, even with Pat Bryant not being there.
24:21I'm also not confident in Emeka Abuka. As we've seen, it's been a rough start to him for the season.
24:26And last week, first start with Jalen Daniels, he had two catches for 13 yards.
24:29It was terrible. Four targets. He's been 11.3 PPR points or less in every game so far this season.
24:34This has nothing to do with the matchup. It's all about the Bucs and their problems right now.
24:39So I'd love to see Abuka come out and have a big game.
24:42I just can't count on it. So as you see, a number four receiver basically for all of us outside of the top 36.
24:48Dave gave you his sleeper. It's Khalil Shakir. Heath, your sleeper for this week is the same guy.
24:52Just finished with a last repeat. Malik Washington. You know, the nice thing is I put him as a sleeper.
24:57He scores 11 fantasy points. The next week he's 20% rostered.
25:00I put him as a sleeper. He scores 11 fantasy points.
25:02The next week he's 20% rostered. This was my favorite player on the way or wide receiver on the waiver wire this week.
25:08I would start him over all the guys that we added.
25:11The Bills, the Bengals, all of those guys. Even Myers if the Bengals guys are out?
25:15If both Higgins and Chase are out, then I'll start Myers.
25:18Who are you going to have as your sleeper next week?
25:20Because the Dolphins are on by. Oh, that's disappointing.
25:22I don't know. It's probably still a league watch there.
25:25Probably should be Wandale Robinson just to stick with the theme.
25:28There you go. For me, I'm going to go Roman Wilson.
25:30We got the report. Mike McCarthy saying that Michael Pittman may miss several weeks.
25:34It really has nothing to do with Pittman because what we've seen from Wilson, every game, six targets.
25:38The last two games he scored touchdowns. So he's building a rapport with Aaron Rodgers.
25:42It would be great to see the targets increase a little bit.
25:45But I think Wilson, just one of these very safe number three wide receivers that can hopefully pop a little bit when he does score touchdowns.
25:51So make sure Roman Wilson not on your waiver wire and he could be a weekly number three wide receiver.
25:56All right, we're going to take a break. We come back and talk about some quarterbacks.
26:00Dave told you he likes Jameis Winston. We're going to talk about Jacoby Brissett.
26:04Is he a good start? Is he a bad start?
26:06That's next here on Fantasy Football Today. Welcome back to Fantasy Football Today.
26:09We're getting some good news in the quarterback position because Jaden Daniels, who missed the last two games with the elbow injury,
26:15is going to play, as we said earlier in the show.
26:17Full go. So he will be out there. Hopefully he has his receivers.
26:21So we're getting word from the commander's practice field.
26:23Still no Terry McLaurin. Stephon Diggs back at practice but may still be working off the side.
26:27So trending in the right direction but still not safe to say that Stephon Diggs is guaranteed to play.
26:32Let's show you the quarterback rank lists 1 through 12.
26:34And just an interesting note, of the 12 quarterbacks who were drafted to be number one quarterbacks based on the CBS Sports
26:40average draft position, only six so far are in the top 12 in terms of their performance.
26:44We've had some injuries, obviously, with Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels.
26:47Jackson Dart was not a top 12 quarterback, but obviously we know we don't have him.
26:50And two quarterbacks who are playing at a top 12 level are not available this week, and that is Bryce Young and
26:56Patrick Mahomes because they're on a bye. So you take a look at this list.
27:00Heath, Jaden Daniels is back. Like, must-start guy? He's very, very close to a must-start guy.
27:04I think with his rushing ability, with the current state of the quarterback position, with the two guys we have on bye,
27:09he's a top six quarterback for me. It's possible that you had somebody else on your team with Jaden Daniels, like a
27:14Matthew Stafford or a Jared Goff, that you're starting over him this week.
27:18But pretty close to a must-start guy. How much does that matter, though, if he doesn't have his receiver?
27:22I mean, it matters a lot. And I'm nervous about him even if he does.
27:26Well, I guess if he has McLaurin and Diggs, then I'd be a lot more excited because this is a beatable matchup.
27:31This Giants team, they were supposed to have a great defense, a great pass rush.
27:35They can't get to anybody. And so I think that if Jaden Daniels has his receivers in full, yeah, I like him
27:41as a top six guy, but I don't know if we can expect that at this point.
27:45And if he doesn't have Terry McLaurin, I would expect the numbers to be a little bit worse.
27:49And if he doesn't have Diggs, I would expect the numbers to be a lot worse.
27:53Borderline number one QB for me. We haven't talked about this yet, but just tying in the commanders, if there is no
27:59McLaurin and if there is no McLaurin and Diggs, how much do you like Antonio Williams?
28:02I like him as a flex, maybe a number three receiver, because I think the volume will find him in this game.
28:08It's going to be real interesting how they operate.
28:10I know who they'll have out there. Will they really lean into Williams, or will they actually try and spread it out,
28:16get a little bit more work to a Conquo at tight end, Dami Brown at wide receiver?
28:20These aren't guys I'd be excited about starting. Williams would be the only one.
28:23But I worry about just how much passing, their pace, what it would be if they don't have their top two guys.
28:29And the Williams did have eight targets against the Colts in the first game without McLaurin, but again, the quarterback situation being what it was.
28:35All right, let's show you the list 13 through 24, and you're going to see some quarterbacks that we actually like individually better than the consensus.
28:41So when you look at this list, you'll see Dave likes Jameis Winston.
28:44Heath doesn't even have him ranked. You'll see CJ Stroud.
28:47I like him as a top 12 quarterback. Heath likes Sam Darnold.
28:50So let's talk about a few of these guys here.
28:52So Heath Darnold has been great. He's going to have another great game and a tough matchup against San Francisco.
28:57Yeah, I think what we've seen in the two games that he's been back, and he's been very good in those games,
29:038.1 yards per attempt, six touchdowns in those two games.
29:05We saw one very surprisingly competitive game against the Commanders where he had to throw the ball a lot, and he was awesome for fantasy.
29:11And then we saw last week, well, I know if you look at the scoreboard, it was a seven-point game.
29:16The truth was that was not a competitive football game at all.
29:19They were way up. He only threw 22 passes, so he didn't have a great fantasy day.
29:23I think this will be a very competitive game against the 49ers.
29:26We'll see Sam Darnold throw 30-plus passes. He'll be a top-12 quarterback.
29:29Jameis? Well, it comes down to Malik Nabors playing.
29:32Let's assume Nabors plays. Oh, great. Then I'm in.
29:34And I'd actually like to hear why Heath is out on Jameis Winston.
29:37He does not pass the eyeball test, okay? It is ugly when it's out there, but it was ugly last week against
29:42Arizona, and he managed to throw three touchdowns, two interceptions along the way.
29:46Good yardage on top of that. And he actually, believe it or not, had good timing and placement on his touchdown throws.
29:51It's not every throw he's going to have that, but if he's going to have time to throw, and this Commander's secondary
29:56isn't very good, then I don't mind taking a chance on Jameis Winston when I'm shooting for upside from the quarterback spot.
30:02And I screwed up the graphics department there and our production staff, so I apologize.
30:06But C.J. Stroud has been great when Nico Collins has been on the field two games over 20 fantasy points.
30:10I think that continues against the Titans. Not a long history here, despite the fact that they're in the same division.
30:16They've only met twice. Stroud's only played them twice.
30:18Right, he's been hurt a lot. Since 2023. But in those games, he's over 19 fantasy points in both of them.
30:23So I think there's a good enough floor here and the Titans, I don't think they've seen a lot of volume from opposing quarterbacks.
30:29And they've gotten, you know, a little bit of luck here and there with Lamar Jackson leading the game last week.
30:34But two of four quarterbacks have been over 20 fantasy points.
30:37I think C.J. Stroud has another decent game enough to consider him a top 12 guy.
30:41All right, so you're starting Sam Darnold. You're starting Jameis Winston.
30:44I'm going to start Matthew Stafford. He's our start of the week.
30:46I think it's going to be another big game for him.
30:49As you see when we show you the individual rankings, we all have him as a top three quarterback for this week.
30:55And so this is one of those games where you should get a lot of high scoring between both these two teams.
31:00It's the highest projected score of the week. Stafford is the best game so far this season has come when he was
31:05at home against the Giants in week two. And I think just the last two weeks over 50 pass attempts, we probably
31:11get a third game over 50 pass attempts if the Bills offense shows up as it does.
31:15And we get that back and forth between Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen.
31:18All right, I want to know why you're sitting Jacoby Brissett, Heath, because this is the perfect setup for Jacoby Brissett.
31:23Great offense on the other side, bad defense on the other side, and a lot of volume expected for Jacoby this week.
31:29I think there probably will be a lot of volume.
31:31I think it's been glossed over a little bit just how bad Jacoby Brissett has been this year.
31:36And it's a lot of short area stuff that he's throwing.
31:39This Detroit defense is bad because they're giving up big plays and they're getting beat on the outside.
31:43I don't, they got beat by, they get beat by tight ends too.
31:46So Trey McBride's going to have a great day.
31:48I have him very close to the top 12.
31:51It's not a must-it situation, but I would rather start Deshaun Watson.
31:54I would rather start Aaron Rodgers. Those are both streaming options available.
31:57And I think it's also possible that this is a game where the Lions just have the ball almost the whole game
32:02and we don't get 50 pass attempts, which is what he probably needs to be good.
32:06I'm banking on the volume. That's why he's a top 12 quarterback for me.
32:09But what makes me nervous, Jamie, is that the offensive line took a big hit with Paris Johnson Jr.
32:14being out for the year. And the Lions, for as bad as they are on defense, they can rush the passer.
32:19And if that's going to be a problem, then you're going to see a lot of those short throws, those check down
32:25throws that Heath was talking about from Jacoby Brissett.
32:27So he better have volume and he better find a way to get a couple of touchdowns because I don't think he's
32:32going to make a lot of spectacular throws down the field.
32:35It's going to be a huge game for Trey McBride.
32:37Everybody's starting him. But I'm a little bit worried about Jacoby Brissett.
32:40I'm worried about a lot of quarterbacks this week, which is why I've got him top 10.
32:45I don't know how good I feel about it.
32:47I just love the setup. I mean, this is why we bank on Jacoby Brissett because of what exactly is happening here.
32:52Bad defense. You know, Brian Branch may return. So we'll see.
32:55But I just think as long as the volume is there, if they hold the ball forever, then he's going to be in trouble.
33:01But this could be another 35-plus pass attempt game for him.
33:04So hopefully it doesn't get it. If he didn't have the pick six last week, it would have been 18, 19 points.
33:09I think he finished with 17. So you would have felt maybe a little bit better about Brissett.
33:13Not Heath. He's just banking on the struggles that Brissett has shown you, which is totally understandable.
33:18Speaking of struggles, here comes Jalen Hurts. And Jalen Hurts is down three of his starting offensive linemen.
33:22Down his number one receiver. We're not expecting Devontae Smith to play.
33:25We don't know about Dallas Goddard. That would help him if Dallas Goddard's back because that's at least a reliable guy that
33:30he can throw to in the short area. And I think Jacksonville's defense is outstanding.
33:34They're getting pressure on the quarterback. They're starting to play a lot better in the secondary.
33:38And they've been great against the run. And so if this is a Philadelphia offense without Saquan Barkley, you might say to
33:44yourself, well, this is going to be a game where Jalen Hurts is going to run the ball a ton.
33:48I don't know if he'll have success doing it.
33:51And I don't know how effective the tush push will be without that offensive line at full strength.
33:55So I don't really even want to start Jalen Hurts at all.
33:58I can name a bunch of quarterbacks. Deshaun Watson's one of them.
34:01I can't believe those words are coming out of my mouth.
34:04But Deshaun Watson over him, certainly C.J. Stroud, Sam Darnold, Jacoby Brissett, Jameis Winston, all those guys well ahead of Jalen Hurts this week.
34:10So it's not the best thing to suggest sitting the quarterback who leads the NFL in pass attempts and has been awesome.
34:15But I think that's kind of where I am with Tyler Shuck.
34:18He's on the border of being a starter. I hope the volume will still be there.
34:22But the Vikings just saw the blueprint to how to stop Tyler Shuck.
34:25The Falcons showed you by just beating the crap out of him, which is what the Falcons just did.
34:30He only was sacked twice, but he injured his left hand.
34:33You've got to keep an eye on Chris Alave right now.
34:35He missed practice on Wednesday for rest, but he left the game late with the, it looked like a knee injury.
34:40So hopefully he's going to be okay. Obviously, if there's no Alave, you're not trusting Tyler Shuck at all.
34:45But the Vikings have been awesome against opposing quarterbacks since week one.
34:48Granted, it's been Caleb Williams in the rain. And I know you could say Williams got hurt.
34:52It was late in the game. It was Baker Mayfield.
34:55They beat the crap out of him and he got hurt in that game.
34:58Malik Willis, we know what that is. But this is going to be, I think he's got a lower expectations for Tyler Shuck.
35:04Borderline starter at best. Hopefully the volume is still there for him, but not exactly the safest of quarterbacks.
35:09All right, that'll do it for our quarterback discussion.
35:11We're going to take a break and we come back and talk about some tight ends.
35:15It's another week where there's a lot of good streaming options.
35:17Can you start some of these guys ahead of the starters?
35:20We'll talk about Kenyon Sadiq. We'll talk about maybe Mike Gusecki, maybe TJ Hawkinson.
35:24That's next on FFT. Let's go back to August and rewind and say, you know what?
35:28You're going to want to draft Mike Gusecki and TJ Hawkinson over Colston Loveland and Kyle Pitts.
35:32And you're going to be just fine doing that.
35:34And you probably think you're the craziest fantasy football show ever, but it might have worked out pretty well for you.
35:39It might work out well for you in week number five.
35:42Let's talk about some tight ends here on fantasy football today.
35:45We'll show you the list one through 12 of our consensus rankings and lo and behold, as our podcast buddy, Adam Azer,
35:50dare I say, you got two guys that weren't drafted that are playing very well, at least what we've seen from Gusecki
35:55in three or four games and TJ Hawkinson just had 13 catches on 13 targets over 100 yards.
36:00Should have had a touchdown last week against the Dolphins and they maybe must start tight ends.
36:04So Dave, when you look at this and you see these guys on this list, I cry.
36:08It's obviously contingent. Well, you might be starting them and be excited about it.
36:12That's part of the reason why I'm crying. So for Hawkinson, it's obviously tied to Justin Jefferson.
36:16For Gusecki, it's tied to maybe both or at least one of the wide receivers in Cincinnati.
36:20But give me the layout. If there are no guys starting at the receiver spots that we expect, how good can Hawkinson be?
36:26How good can Gusecki be? Hawkinson could be phenomenal if the Vikings don't have Justin Jefferson or Jordan Addison.
36:30If they have one of those guys, he can still be phenomenal because what we saw from Kyler Murray last week was
36:36flashbacks to his end of days in Arizona where as soon as there's pressure, he's throwing it short and T.J.
36:41Hawkinson is his guy. You might as well call him Trey Hawkinson or T.J.
36:44McBride, whatever you want to call him because he was in that exact same role and even had a deep target in
36:50that game and did well with it. So Kyler Murray clearly developing some rapport with him but he needs at least one
36:55of those receivers to be off the field. Otherwise, he's just going to throw to those receivers and check down to those guys instead of T.J.
37:02Hawkinson. Gusecki is almost the exact same story. One of those receivers gone.
37:05I don't mind trying Gusecki. We've seen tight ends do well against the Miami Dolphins that middle of the field against those lockers.
37:10Yeah, I mean, Hawkinson was certainly one of those guys and I think Gusecki could do as well.
37:15I don't think he'll see as many targets as Hawkinson but somebody who could still file away as a top 12 tight end.
37:21Chase out, Higgins out. We know both out. Gusecki's good to go but if it's just one, how do you feel?
37:26If it's just one, this is just about how I feel.
37:28It's kind of a middling tight end too for me and I think the big difference for me between T.J.
37:33Hawkinson and Mike Gusecki is I can see the possibility of T.J.
37:36Hawkinson having a big day where he sees 10 targets.
37:39Mike Gusecki, it's been like maybe 3-5. He had one game with seven, I think.
37:42And so I think Gusecki might be slightly more likely to score a touchdown just because it's the Bengals' offense and he's
37:48got Joe Burrow throwing it to him and the Dolphins are probably a little bit worse than the Saints but I think Hawkinson a more reliable option.
37:55Let's talk about the rank list 13 through 24 and some other options that you may consider because for the most part
38:00even if there are some bad matchups like for example I'm going to tell you to sit with Dalton Kincaid you're probably
38:05not going to do that but you might be relying on a few of the names on this list that we like
38:11a little bit differently than the consensus. For me that's Colston Loveland Dave has him as a sit so we'll debate that in a second.
38:17You got Tyler Higby Dave and then Kenyon Sadiq for you Heath.
38:20So let's talk about Tyler Higby because as we saw last week was good 11 PPR points 11 plus PPR points first
38:25game without Terrence Ferguson and Colby Parkinson but Pukunakua did return so can Higby have another strong game against Buffalo?
38:30I look at that Buffalo defense and I see a sieve I think that they just can't really do much of anything
38:36well other than rush the quarterback with Greg Rousseau everybody else in that defense just not quite getting the job done and
38:41so I think that there's going to be plenty of opportunities for Matthew Stafford to throw to whoever he wants in this
38:47offense and if the Bills keep the pace in the game and it ends up being high scoring then you're just going
38:52to want pieces of this game and Tyler Higby is going to be one of them not the best piece obviously Nakua,
38:57Devontae the running backs well the running back Kyron Williams would be better but I don't mind Tyler Higby if you're struggling
39:03at tight end or if you need a bi-week replacement he's going to be out there in a bunch of leagues I
39:08just watched the injury report really closely because it kind of sounded like they were optimistic last week about Colby Parkinson not
39:14being too far away if he's back I'd be a little bit more worried about Higby talk about Sadiq because injuries matter
39:19here as well no Adonai Mitchell is the expectation once again but Mason Taylor is going to return yes and I have
39:25moved Sadiq I think from tight end 8 to tight end 11 based on the fact that he's going to be sharing
39:30a little bit more maybe with Mason Taylor I think people look at last week and they say oh it was just
39:35a one week thing in week 3 he only had 4 targets last week Gino Smith threw 15 passes last week so
39:41yes 4 targets also better than a 25% target so I think you'll probably see him in that 20% target share rest
39:46of season which is going to make him a top 12 tight end in my mind let's talk Colston Loveland because I
39:52like him better than you do I have him as a starter based on the rankings you have him as a sit
39:57based on the graphics that we're going to show and I think just the one thing that I like from Colston Lovelland
40:03is he was alive last week thankfully Tyson Bajan 9 targets 6 catches 57 yards let's see just a little bit more
40:08of that but last year 3 games against the Packers in the final 7 games of the season and he was dominant
40:13in 2 of them over 12 PPR points we know about the one playoff game where he was just absolutely fantastic but
40:19he averaged 14.2 PPR points against this team in those 3 games and I'm just hoping Dave it's hope but let's just
40:24get more of Colston Lovelland being featured and I don't know if it's just because of Bajan but it was great to
40:30see the Bears offense was playing on time that Bajan was throwing to who the first three was supposed to be and
40:35when the first three was covered he'd throw the second he wasn't running all over the place and trying to play Superman
40:41that's the difference but you know who else came alive last week?
40:43Romo Dunze came alive last week and I think he can continue to be a factor for the Bears offense but why can't both of them though?
40:50because I think that there's just too many receivers now we talk about it all the time so many mouths to feed
40:56and we're coming off of a game where Lovelland didn't he have nine targets in the game?
41:00He had a ton of targets and he didn't have a monster game good game for PPR no complaints finally we got
41:05one from Lovelland but I think Odunze's better I think Luther Burden's better and I'm not ready to write off Khalif Raymond
41:11yet either there was a play where he was wide open down the field would have been a smash touchdown Tyler Bajan
41:16threw it short maybe to your point that helps Colson Lovelland because he's the one that could get those short throws I
41:21just don't know how many of them will be and I also don't know how much throwing there actually will be in
41:27the game because I think the Bears are going to be able to run on the Packers well they ran on the
41:32Jets last week too and they still had the opportunities for Lovelland so there's a difference of opinion I like him Dave
41:38excuse me a little bit different there in terms of how you would start him so we've covered a lot of these
41:43tight ends the starts and the sits let's just have a quick Dalton Kincaid conversation because he's been bad the last two
41:49games after getting off to such a hot start and he got the Detroit bump in week two which may just have
41:54boosted his production and you may have missed your sell high window here the Rams have allowed 85 yards receiving to the
41:59tight end groups that they faced so far this year and that includes Isaiah Likely in a game where there was a
42:05quarterback change it also includes George Kittle coming back so those are the two premier tight ends that they faced is Dalton
42:10Kincaid still safe though because from what we've seen the last two games it's been bad I don't think he's safe at
42:16all he has big upside he has a very low floor especially against the Rams what I'll be watching maybe more closely
42:21than how he scores for moving forward is where's the snap share where's the route share the first two weeks of the
42:27season he was playing more than he ever had before last week it was still a little bit elevated but it's trending
42:32the wrong direction he needs to be on the field for 70% of their pass plays to be a must start tight
42:37end so last week the Patriots doubled him a lot they were having defenders make contact and to be fair DJ Moore
42:43left early in that game so they could do that right so that certainly helped a lot as well and I almost
42:48think the Bills saw that happening and they went you know what we don't want to even deal with this let's just
42:54reel back on his snaps I think the Bills are going to have to throw in this game they need Dalton Kincaid
42:59if they're going to be competitive if there's no DJ Moore I would start him this week alright so there you see
43:05if you're looking at the rankings Dave is the outlier Heath and I are in the same boat 13 sports line even
43:10lower at 17th we're going to take a break when we come back it's just your questions to close the show so
43:15again thank you for sending them to us on social media using the hashtag AskFFT that's next here on Fantasy Football Today
43:21wrapping things up here on Fantasy Football Today with your questions and this one is need one tight end in full PPR
43:26Kenya Sadiq Chiji Hawkinson or Colston Loveland we probably all have a different answer on this one I think we might alright
43:32just name Hawkinson you need a flow chart to answer this question Hawkinson if Jefferson's out Sadiq if not alright I would
43:37go Loveland if Hawkinson is not the featured guy next question give Kyron and receive Saquon plus Michael Wilson so would you
43:42give up Kyron and Kyron Williams for Saquon Barkley and Michael Wilson I am worried that Saquon will not be the same
43:48Saquon we're used to I think I'd rather hold on to Kyron Williams alright last question for you Heath stream weekly quarterbacks
43:53Brissette if I have Lamar and Nick so who would you start if I I mean hopefully Lamar plays it sounds like
43:59it's possible but I would stream Deshaun Watson then Aaron Rodgers then Jacoby Brissette are my top three streamers ok we would
